This sounds like the nVidia driver problem many of us have had (there are around half-a-dozen threads about this).
If you have an nVidia graphics card and are running nVidia driver 190.62 then remove (and do not reinstall) the PhysX / Steroscopic3D features from Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel.
Who knows - this may also fix the VC++ problem. If it does, please let us know as it extends the forums knowledge of this nVidia bug.

Premiere Elements 13, bisher keine Probleme. Nachdem die Filmlänge etwa 15 Minuten beträgt immer größere Probleme Titel/texte einzugeben. Wartezeiten sind extrem lange oder Programm stürzt ganz ab.

    High ATR,
    Computer running on Widows 7 ,64 Bit System, Service Pack 1, Processor AMD Phenom(tm) X4 945 3.00 Ghz;RAM 8 GB
    Grafikkarte: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT
If the video on the timeline is longer than 10 minutes the problem will be remarkable. The response times adding a title is getting longer(2-15 seconds).
As the video is now 18 minutes the response time is after each action(resizing of letters or any changes of the text) up to 30 seconds or the program crashes completely.
    Project settings are the following:
    General HD 1080i; 29,97frames/second; Video:1920v 1080 H, 30 fps
Video: maximale Bittiefe, Dateiformat i-frame only mpeg, Kompressor MPRG i-Frame, Standbilder optimieren
The video is a mixture  of full HD videos 1920x 1080 .mov and pictures up to 4608x3456 pixels.
When the program crashes I remarked that the main memory RAM(8Gb) was fully used by the premiere program. Might there be a problem?
    Thank you for your service.

Can you tell us all about your computer, and especially your computer's graphics card/chip? What is its make/model? What is the version and date of the installed video driver? When PSE runs, but PrE does not, it is usually an issue with the video driver being obsolete. Good luck, Hunt

  • Premiere Elements 7: problems playing mts format video

    hi all,
I need a little help here:
I currently have both adobe premiere elements 7 and corel studio video 11 installed in the same computer.  I am able to import video from my canon HG10 files (MTS) no problem in both programs.  Hwoever, i am experiencing extreme video and voice lag in adobe but not in my corel.  I rather do all my video editing in adobe.  Am i missing something? using the wrong preset? please help.......can someone specific the present i need to use to play proper mts video in adobe?
    My current system:
    intel core 2 duo CPU
    [email protected]
    3.50gb ram
    Nvidia 9600GT
    THanks,
    Peter

The Canon HG10 is an AVCHD camcorder, the most intensive video format to edit. Most people who are successfully editing it in Premiere Elements are using quad core processors with 4 gigs of RAM. It's possible Corel operates a bit more efficiently and could possibly run it on your system. (Make sure you render your video in Premiere Elements, by pressing Enter so that the red line along the top of the timeline turns green, before you judge the playback of the video.)
Regardless, ensure that, when you're editing it in Premiere Elements that you're using an AVCHD project preset and that you're using the Media Downloader (under Organize, Get Media, AVCHD Camcorder) to download your video from the camcorder. Using one program to capture your video and another to edit can often lead to problems like you're experiencing.

  • Premiere Elements 12 Problems  ... still quite buggy?

    Hi all,
I used Premiere Elements 11 up to now. Currently testing Version 12 - which appears to be quite buggy to me... Now I just wanted to make sure that it's not me being too dump to find the correct settings...
BTW: I'm using a MacBook w/ Retina from 2012 and most current OS X Maverics as well as a freshly updated APE 12 Testversion (...with German Language)...
    1. ...and most anoying one: scrolling in the Timeline left and right on (Apple Magic-)Mouse works now just the other way round than in APE 11 (...which was quite intuitive to me... :-( ) ...I've found some settings for the keyboard, but nothing regarding mouse wheel scroll direction. BTW: is it possible to use up and down scrolling to pan up and down the video-tracks instead of moving back and forth in the timeline (...again).
    2. Most interesting new feature of V 12 is the motion tracking (at least for me):
    a) I can only use motion tracking with those childish graphics and animation. I just want to use it for simple text as the help message suggests should be possible as well. But the button to place texts is disabled when motion tracking is enabled... is there another way to enable motion tracking on a existing text-and/or-graphic-overlay?
    b) I have a lot of videos filmed with a GoPro in upside-down-mode, meaning that I have to rotate the videos by 180 degree in Premiere. Motion tracking appears not to be able to handle that. While objects can be tracked (which is also not too easy as i had to find out) the motion track seems to be way more suitable for the non-rotated video... I've found no way, yet to rotate the track as well (without roating the graphic as well).
So... unfortunately Version 12 is a bit frustrating up to now... Thanks for your help!
    Losty

Sorry for your challenges, Losty. I'm having great success with version 12!
Of course, Mac Retina displays are known for causing problems like the ones you're experiencing. I'd hoped Mac would have fixed this by now.
You can certainly use your own text, graphic or even a picture-in-picture with Motion Tracking. I demonstrate how in tutorial on the left side of this page. http://Muvipix.com/pe12.php
As for 2b, I have no idea why you're shooting your videos upside-down, but you certainly are adding an unnecessary level of complexity to your post production. I'd recommend that you first right-side-up your videos in Premiere Elements and then output the finished video using Publish & Share/Computer/AVCHD with the M2T 1920x1080 preset to output the fixed video. You can then use your righted videos in a new project and do all the Motion Tracking you want with it.

  • Premiere Elements cause problems with Windows Media Center while streaming to TV.

I was having the following problem:
The audio from the streaming process of a recorded TV show on my HP computer to the remote receivers, a Sony Blu-ray player and/or a Sony Streaming Player, results in the loss of audio signal at exactly 30 seconds from the beginning on either devices. The video continues on as normal.
A user on the Windows 7 forum had the following possible cause and solution.  His response was as follows:
I "solved" my issue, at least partially. Turns out for me a codec installed by Adobe Premiere Elements for audio (Main Concept) was causing mfpmp.exe to fail (you should see it getting an appcrash in the event log two or three times as soon as you start playing the media remotely.) This program is used by microsoft for DRM. I went through and one by one remained the various attached (non-microsoft) modules until i found the one that caused the appcrash. I haven't fully figured out if Elements is now negatively effected, but that's for a different forum.
I tried the quick fix by un-installing Adobe Premiere Elements.  The uninstall solved my problem with Windows Media Center, but I want to re-install the software but I do not want to recreate the problem with Windows Media Center.
Is there another solution for this problem?

I reinstalled Adobe Premiere Elements 10 and the above mention problem reoccured.  With a little detective work I was able to determine that the file causing my problem was "mc_dec_dd_ds.ax".  I am not sure what this does to Adobe Premiere Elements 10 since I removed (renamed) the offending file.  A strange side affect, renaming the file did cause an increase volume. Strange.

  • Premiere Elements installation problem.

    Hi.
My name is Martin. I have recently upgraded laptops to a MacBook Pro, and the package Adobe Photoshop with Premiere Elements 10 will not install properly on my new laptop. Photoshop installed with no problems whereas Premiere Elements will not. I have tried several occasions, with no success. The serial numbers are correct as well as system requirments, so will appreciate any advice.
    Many thanks.

  • Installing 32 bit Premiere Elements 12 problems

I purchased my upgrades to Elements and Premiere 12 today.  They downloaded just fine.  Elements installed just fine.
Premiere downloaded and extracted just fine.  The install however failed noting that I was trying to install the 64 bit version.  I clearly extracted the file labele 32bit.
I even deleted the files, downloaded again, extracted again and...same result.
    Anyone else have this problem?
    How to resolve?

    Tasarsailor
This sounds like an issue for Adobe. But first, did you purchase Premiere Elements 12 from Adobe? Is your 32 bit operating system Windows or Mac?
Please use the following link to contact Adobe Chat who will resolve your issue or direct you to the department that will.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?product=premiere-elements&topic=downloading-installing -and-setting-up
When the above link opens, click on "I still need help" in order to bring up the Adobe Chat pop up. I have pre-set the topic for "Downloading, Installing, and Setting Up".
I believe that will get you a quick resolution to your issue unless you have another contact with Adobe that you obtained during the purchase transaction.
Please let us know the outcome.
    Thanks.

  • Premiere Elements 13 problem with DVD menu templates

I recently purchased Premiere Elements 13 for my iMac.  It crashes every time I attempt to add a DVD menu template to my project.  Does anyone have a solution for this problem?

I just uninstalled and then re-installed Premiere Elements.  When I opened the program, I clicked on Movie Menus from the Tools menu.  There were blue bands on the menu thumbnails and I right-clicked on one and selected "download all."  P.E. let me know that the files would need 2.5 GB of space and I told it to go ahead and download the files.  The download was going fine and it downloaded all 2.5 GB of data.  I could see the blue bands disappear from the thumbnails as the download progressed.  When the downloading process was over the progress window disappeared.  I saw the rainbow colored pinwheel spin around for several seconds and then the program crashed.  The next thing I saw was a "Crash Report" with several lines of "computerese" and the message that it would be sent to Apple.  I clicked OK and in a second or two a window from Adobe appeared asking me if I wanted to restart the program and send the crash report to Adobe.  There was also an option for me to ask Adobe to send me feedback or tips for a workaround or solution to the problem and what came back was the message that Adobe had no workaround or solution to my problem.  For each of the previous times the program crashed, I have seen all of these windows that I just described.
One other thing:  when I re-opened Premiere Elements after the crash, I looked at the movie menu thumbnails and the blue bands were not there any more.  So it seems as though Premiere Elements "thinks" they have been downloaded.  If so, where are they and how do I use them?  And how do I prevent the program from crashing?
Feel free to ask me any questions you want to, especially if they will help solve this problem.  One reason I bought this program is that I want to make DVDs with menus and chapter selection buttons.  I have been using iDVD, but Apple no longer supports it, and it does have a few bugs I have had to work around.  I also have DVD Studio Pro, which came with Final Cut Studio a few years ago (before Final Cut Pro X) but it is not very user friendly.  I also have Final Cut Pro X, which has the option of authoring DVDs, but doesn't have the DVD menu template options that are in iDVD and DVD Studio Pro.
Thanks for your attention and help.

  • From JDA in PA.  Premiere elements 4 problem

I used SHARE to export a movie to my hard drive so I could email it.  I used the option that makes it into an mpeg file.  When i locate in in Explore, and open it, it doesn't have any sound.  In ADVANCED I made sure that Export video and Export audio were both checked. Can anyone help?

As we say in the FAQs to the right of this forum, you will definitely need to convert that video from your still camera to more standardized DV-AVIs before you can bring them successfully into a Premiere Elements project.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/415317?tstart=0
If the video produced by your camera is an AVI, you can convert it with Windows MovieMaker.
If the video produced by your camera is an MOV, you can convert it with Super or Quicktime Pro.
Convert the video to DV-AVIs before you bring it into Premiere Elements and it's very likely all of your problems will go away.

    Thank you for the reply.
From what you have written so far, I am understanding you are having a problem opening the program. It is not clear whether you are saying opening the program or opening a project.
Let us proceed with the program not opening (launching).
    a. You say that you have latest driver for the HD Graphics 4600. Please make sure that the drive update information is from the web site of the manufacturer of the card, not just from Device Manager/Display Adapters/your card and the Driver Tab. If the card is up to date, then try to delete the BadDrivers.txt file. If you are using Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit computer, then the BadDrivers.txt file is found
    Local Disk C
    Program Data
    Adobe
    Premiere Elements
and in the Premiere Elements Folder is the BadDrivers.txt file that you delete. The Premiere Elements Folder contains folders as well as the BadDrivers.txt file. You want only the BadDrivers.txt file within the Premiere Elements Folder and not anything in the folders in that same Premiere Elements Folder. A new BadDrivers.txt file will be generated when you open a Premiere Elements project and the problem hopefully will be gone. Be sure to be working with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so that you can see the complete path cited.
    b. Be sure to be working Run As Administrator and from a User Account with Administrative Privileges.
    c. What antivirus program does your computer use? Please determine if the program exists with and without the antivirus program disabled.
    d. Be sure to have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer.
    e. If the above has not solved the problem, then let us delete the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file. The path in Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit is
    Local Disk C
    Users
    Owner
    AppData
    Roaming
    Adobe
    Premiere Elements
    12.0
and, in the 12.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. If that does not work then you delete the whole 12.0 Folder in which it exists.
    f. Do the uninstall, ccleaner run through, reinstall with antivirus and firewalls turned off.
CCleaner - PC Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download
The translations are not good and the details limited so I am including a lot of troubleshooting possibilities to cover a lot of ground.

  • Premiere Elements 8, Problem Displaying MP4

I recently installed Premiere Elements 8 together with Photoshop Elements 8.
After this I also installed Quicktime from the homerpage of Apple. (Contrary to what PE told me I had no choice between different versions of Quicktime.)
Basically everything works fine however I have aproblem with my MP4-files which I took with my Sony T900.
I can view them perfectly in the organizer but not in Premiere Elements 8. While the sound is played correct instead of the pictures there is displayed a red square only. Viewing in Quicktime directly does work perfectly.
I would be very gratefur for any hint or comment.
    Sebastian

    Sebastian:
I've followed your thread on this, and boy am I happy that someone has found a solution... I'm at work right now,
but I will try it when I get home... you see, I just bought PE 8 this week for my son and told him (after all of my prior
research) that we WOULD NOT have to continue spending time with video converters anymore.. well, to my
surprise, we installed PE8 this past weekend and tried importing our first MP4 file (generated from a "GOPro Hero"
action cam) and we were shocked to see that PE8 wouldn't read it!  So I had to explain to my son (he's 12) that there
has to be some quick solution out there, as I could NOT believe that PE8, just released, would not support MP4!
Anyway, I noticed that your long awaited response from Adobe suggested one of the fixes as reinserting the Plug In
file from PE7 into the PE8 program folder... I'm wondering if you would be willing to email me that plugin from PE7
since I did not previously have PE7... my email is:   [email protected]
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated, and also make things easier for my son as he is getting really good
at creating skateboarding/snowboarding movies, but is looking forward to being able to just import his MP4's without
    many extra steps and work-arounds...
    Thanks so much!

  • Premiere Elements 12 problem

I have recently purchesed Premiere Elements 12 on to my old pc which has windows XP on it and has seemingly incompatible display drivers. I cannot get the drivers now. Is it possible for me to some-how re-load the editing program onto my Lap-top instead? I have already paid for Elements 12 but never got the chance to use it.

    Wullie Broon
    Supplement to Yes.
How did you purchase Premiere Elements 12, as a purchased online download or from an installation disc in a boxed packaging of the product?
Whatever the case on that point, please see if you can remedy your Premiere Elements 12 Windows XP situation by deleting the BadDrivers.txt file. In Windows XP Professional SP3 32 bit, it can be found:
    Local Disk C
    Documents and Settings
    All Users
    Application Data
    Adobe
    Premiere Elements
and in the Premiere Elements Folder is the BadDrivers.txt file for version 12 that you delete. This Premiere Elements Folder may have some folders in it. You do not want anything in those folders in the Premiere Elements Folder. You just want the BadDrivers.txt file in that Premiere Elements Folder named in the path above. Make sure that you are set up with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so that you can see the complete path cited.
If that does not work and you need to install Premiere Elements 12 on your laptop, then
    a. Deactivate Premiere Elements 12 from XP
    b. If you have no further plans for Premiere Elements 12 on XP, then uninstall it via the Control Panel route.
My concern is what you have in the way of Premiere Elements 12 installation files. If you purchased the program as an online download and you downloaded to Windows XP 32 bit computer, I am not sure if those files will be applicable for installation on a Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit system. Best check with Adobe Chat on that by clicking on the following link. When it opens, click on the statement "Still Need Help? Contact Us" to bring up the Adobe Chat on the topic of Serial number issues or activating my product. If you purchased download files from Adobe, you might also get help under the topic of Orders, Refunds, and Exchanges.

Do you still have the original download files or installation disc and purchased serial number?

  • Premiere Elements Transition Problem

    Hi All,
I have a GoPro Hero 2, and use Premiere Elements 9 to edit my footage.
However, I have found that when adding a transition between 2 pieces of footage, the transition and the footage after becomes Juddery and wont play smooth. What is causing this and how can I stop it?
    Many thanks!
    James

Wow, thanks again for another fast reply!
Im completley new to video editing software, At the moment Im keeping things quite simple, and only really using the 'Sceneline' view, rather than the 'Timeline' view.
So I am basically clicking on the transition I want to use, dragging and dropping into the little transition squares between the clips
It happens with any clips I use. At the moment im actually going from a still image (Which I have overlayed text onto) into a video. The video itself has been shortened both at the start and at the end prior to putting the transition in.
With regards to the transition itself, it seems to be more noticable and take longer to correct itself on the more complex transitions such as 'Box explode' or 'Bouncing cube'. If I use something a little more simple such as 'cube spin' it will sometimes do the same and stutter for a while, but sometimes it will be fine.
I beleive the transitions are automatically set on 'End at cut'
Again thanks for trying to help out. I will check out your tutorial now.
