Re: Process Spaces - SOA/BPM Integration

Hi,
I am trying to import default-modeling-workspace-gs.ear and default-process-workspace-gs.ear into Webcenter spaces.
It is getting failed with the following error ::
No handlers could be found for services with IDs: oracle.webcenter.doclib oracle.webcenter.collab.forum oracle.webcenter.collab.announcement .
Can anybody help me on this.
Our requirement is to integrate BPM worlist into Process Spaces.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Vikrant.

Hum, let me explain better.
I have a new installation of Webcenter and Soa Suites in the same domain, version 11.1.1.5.
I am, for the first time, trying to integrate both suites via the Process Spaces work space, as documented in the following doc: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E21764_01/doc.1111/e16793/patch_webcenter.htm#BABHDCJD
Everything goes well, but when I log in to the Webcenter Spaces application, I cannot find the Process Workspace inside the Spaces portal.
I am on a windows server 2008 environment.

    Hello,
Has anyone tried to import the Process Spaces Workspace in the new release (11.1.1.5) ?
I ran the script smoothly, but I cand find the Process Spaces inside the WC Spaces portal!!!
The screenshots on the documentation seem to be pointing to an older version of Webcenter, with the side icon navigation (not available anymore in the new release)
I am wondering if they simply droped this feature with the new release?

  • Problem integrating BPM Process Spaces with Webcenter Spaces PS5

    Good Day!
I have currently installed a fresh build of Webcenter 11.1.1.6 stack in a single domain which contains:
    1.)     UCM
    2.)     Spaces
    3.)     SOA with BPM
After configuring process-portal-install.properties, I have run the ant –f install.xml command which will integrate Process Spaces into Webcenter Spaces.
The problem currently I am facing is that after seeing the process spaces link in Webcenter Spaces, I am also being redirected to internal problem and seeing the logs, I have something like:

I would like to ask if there is a support link or solution to this problem I am facing such that I may able to see BPM Process Spaces in Webcenter Spaces.

    Hi Jeff,
Its looking that BPM was not correctly configured for some reason, exact root cause could not be pinpointed. You can try following two things:-
    1. Run the following ant command and restart the Admin and managed servers
    ant -f install.xml post-install -DpiArgs -importGSOnly
    2. If Oracle BPM and WebCenter have been configured in different domains, configure Trusted Domain Credentials in both the Oracle BPM and WebCenter domains.
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/web.1111/e13707/domain.htm#SECMG404
If issue is still there, you can open the SR with Oracle and also have a look on following bug that is released on 24-May-2012.
Bug 13894890 : [SUP] ERROR NO METADATA FOUND FOR METADATA OBJECT "/WEB-INF/PROCESSAPPLICATIONST

  • BPM Process Spaces: Attachments and Comments issue

    Hi,
I've integrated BPM Process Spaces with WebCenter Spaces. When I'm trying to initiate a Process and send comments and attachment, the values for them is not passed from step to another. For example, if user A initiate a task with comments and attachments and send it to user B; user B can't see the comments and attachments from user A.
I searched the internet and I found conflict answers, some answers are saying that comments and attachments are not supported and others are saying it's working.
Can please someone give me a definitive answer and the configuration required if any?
Also can someone give me a definitive answer about how to configure BPM to store attachment in UCM?
This is urgent as I'm preparing a customer POC next week.
    Thanks
    Regards

after some investigations I found the following:
    - Users can attach documents and provide comments on task level from the task details page. The attachments and comments will only be available for this specific task but not on the process level.
    - Users can attach documents and provide comments on Process level from the Process Tracking page-> Audit Trail part. The attachments and comments will available for all the tasks in the process
    - in BPM 11.1.1.5 Features Pack. Integration with UCM has been developed and also comments and attachments can be defined as Task level or Process level when ever the user want to provide one.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks

  • Invoking bpel process from java in oracle soa/bpm 11g

    Hi,
We have some java code to invoke bpel process in oracle BPM 10g following the instructions in http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/integrate.1012/b14448/invoke.htm.
    Basically the steps are:
    1) get a Locator (com.oracle.bpel.client.Locator)
    2) get IDeliveryService (com.oracle.bpel.client.delivery.IDeliveryService) reference from locator
    3) call IDeliveryService method request or post with input message and get the response back.
Recently we want to migrated from oracle bpm 10g to oracle soa/bpm 11g. But I can not find the similar API in 11g. It seems now some adapter/binding need to be added in exposed service lane in soa composite view, for example, ADF-BC, direct binding etc, in order to allow java to invoke a bpel process. Here are two very useful links from Edwin about the detail how this is implemented.
    http://biemond.blogspot.com/2009/11/invoking-soa-suite-11g-service-from.html
    http://biemond.blogspot.com/2009/11/calling-soa-suite-direct-binding.html?showComment=1285198033913#comment-c1055322845511794252
    My question is:
    1) what are the choices and the official/best way to invoke a bpel process in oracle soa/bpm 11g from java?
    2) does user need to add an adapter/binding in exposed service lane in order to let the bpel service be called in java?
    3) what is the real difference between a bpm application and soa application in 11g?
I will really appreciate any expert's opinion.
    Thanks,
    Bin

Thanks for your reply and confirmation, really appreciate it.
Yes, I found the difference of the invoking process API and was able to invoke bpel process using direct and ADF-BC binding by following Edwin's blog. But I have not found any official reference to compare this API difference between 10g and 11g ( I will mark this question as answered if anyone can find an official source from oracle, need to prove it to the team). The API to work with human task workflow seems pretty much the same between 10g and 11g.

  • BPM Integration Process that correlates 2 messages.

I have an BPM Integration Process defined that collects Deliveries for an Order number and when an Invoice arrives for the same Order number it merges the messages to produce another file that is for a 3rd party.
I correctly receive in the Delivery and the Invoice u2013 I can see them in SXMB_MONI with a checkered flag and they are directed to my BPM.  I can see this also in SXMB_MONI_BPE.  I can also see the correlation correctly found in both messages.  No error is reported by either SXBM.. transaction.
However it does nothing except receive the files u2013 I am expecting a transformation and then the send step to execute.
Start >  CollectIDOCBlock  > Collect Fork
    Fork1
Infinite Loop for Receive Delivery (Start process) and Collect in Container. It uses and activates Correlation OrderNum
    Fork2
Receive Invoice uses Correlation OrderNum (it does not activate the correlation)
At the end of the Fork (when Delivery collected and an Invoice is received)
It will then do the Transformation and Send Step.
    <End
I have tried various combinations of the correlations and which receive step starts the process.  Any ideas ?

Yes that did work.  Now does somebody know what exactly the FORK parameter number of branches does ?
    The SAPHelp is here
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/08/16163ff8519a06e10000000a114084/frameset.htm
+You can specify the required number of branches and then define whether the process must run through all branches, or just a particular number of branches+
But it does not explain why you need to have 1 as necessary branches rather than 2.  There are 2 branches in the FORK - so why does having 1 as the parameter work and not 2.
In this SAPHelp for Message-Dependent Loop
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/08/16163ff8519a06e10000000a114084/frameset.htm
it indicates to me that the parameter should be 2.
BUT the SAP pattern (BpmPatternCollectMessage) I have used as a base for mine has this as 1 and not 2.
Why is 1 the correct value and not 2 ??

  • Question on BPM Integration Process

    Hello Experts,
I am following this BPM article which is very similar to what I want to do.
We are using PI 7.1 without EP1.
I have an XML to IDoc scenario where my XML's external definition resides in a seperate SCV (SCV1) and my imported IDoc resides in a seperate SCV (SCV2). We did this to follow the Sender-Mapper-Receiver model. We have a different SCV for Mapping which holds MM and OM (SCV3). Now, I have my Abstract Service Interfaces for external definition in SCV1 and abstract interface for IDoc in SCV2. And, Integration Process in SCV1 (no good reason). But, now I am not able to access SCV2 abstract interfaces (IDoc abs) in my Integration Process since it sits in SCV1. I am thinking if I have to crate my external definitions, idoc, abstract service interfaces, MM, OM and Ingtration Process in one SCV instead of having them in three different SCVs. I was trying to follow sender-mapper-reciever model but seems like for BPM you need to have all your stuff in one SCV. Please help if you know how to resolve this issue wiithout getting rid of sender-mapper-receiver concept.
Thank you in advance for your help.
    - Mayur

Thanks Jose. I think creating dependencies is a away to go. I also found this this where Stefan suggested same thing.
So, now Sender (SCV1) and Receiver (SCV3) have been added under Mapper (SCV2)'s dependencies list and I will have my BPM Integration Process in the SCV2 which will give me access to both sender and receiver abstract service interfaces.

  • Monitor Integration process log in BPM

    Hi
I am practising the following BPM
    /people/krishna.moorthyp/blog/2005/06/09/walkthrough-with-bpm
and I wanted to know how to monitor integration process log in BPM.
To monitor Integration process I logged, into transaction SXMB_MONI_BPE ->Process Selection->Selected corresponding integration process (in Service Field) - and Clicked Execute as suggested in the blog
But I get the message work item doesn't exist ??
What do I need to do in this case ??
    Thanks,
    Kiran

    SAKHARDANDE ,
Go to sxmb_moni-->Monitor for processed xml message --> In the view box there is standard and process. Select Process for checking the messages of BPM.
Else as in the weblog mentioned go to SXMB_MONI_BPE ->Process Selection->Select corresponding integration process (in Service Field) ->Execute->Select work item. Select your service which you have used in ID.
If you dont find anything then first see whether you see your message in sxmb_moni  or not? If not then check your file sender communicaiton channel in adapter monitoring.

  • SOA/BPM: Can this be acheived in SAP?

We want to create/update a Customer Master data. So we we send a message (IDOC) via the Websphere Message Broker to SAP/3.
Now in a pure EAI approach there is no process for escalation of errors in the in creation/update of Customer Account data becasue when the data is sent to SAP, a code will be returned to indicate if this was successful and there after the actual create/update process is internal to SAP. In other words, it is invisible to the business process. Basically all we can know is that the SAP team have to do something, they may have done it. However, we have no way of being certain that it has been done.
From SOA/BPM approach (if it were possible in SAP), an error in the customer account create/update would be escalated via the process as a human task, or perhaps automated recovery can be used. We would not expect SAP to take any further responsibility. This is better for business process exceptions (as opposed to transient technical ones) as lets face it, the problem then is most likely in the process and/or data rather than SAP.
So is there a way of implementing a true BPM scenario when integrating with SAP? Basically, data is sent to SAP, SAP processes it immediately and sends back a status code synchronously to indicate whether the IDOC was processed successfully or not, preferably.
If this possible, how would one put a solution like this into place?

    hi,
    >>Basically, data is sent to SAP, SAP processes it immediately and sends back a status code synchronously to indicate whether the IDOC was processed successfully or not, preferably
sure there are many ways to implement it in SAP
    1. you can use a BAPI instead of IDOC to create customer:
    BAPI_CUSTOMER_CREATEFROMDATA1
you call it in a sync way and get teh response immediately
    2. if you want to use IDOC, IDOCs in ERP can start w workflow
which can send in an async way a response to anywhere
about what did the idoc do (error, success)
    so sure it's possible

Yes, I found the difference of the invoking process API and was able to invoke bpel process using direct and ADF-BC binding by following Edwin's blog. But I have not found any official reference to compare this API difference between 10g and 11g ( I will mark this question as answered if anyone can find an official source from oracle, need to prove it to the team). The API to work with human task workflow seems pretty much the same between 10g and 11g.

  • SOA & BPM

Can we have BPM and SOA managed server separately in a single domain ? If so then how ? If not then what is the benefit to having both in a single managed server ?

    Hi there 2640028,
the run time environments for both SOA and BPM are actually the same. This is the SOA Infrastructure (or the Fabric) where the composite applications get deployed and executed. Different service engines plug-in (or communicate) with the soa infrastructure. These service engines are:
    the process core - capable of executing BPEL in SOA installation. When SOA domain is extended to BPM the process core is able to execute also BPMN processes;
the business rules - executes the business rules
the human workflow - executes human tasks. The BPM process workspaces uses the human workflow service engine API so the end users are capable of interacting with the human task forms
the mediator - executes the mediator component
the spring - executes spring context
Hence, the BPM runtime is integral part of SOA and cannot be separated.
Important part of the BPM is the development of human task forms. One of the options is to have ADF as a development framework. You are able to have a dedicated managed server where the ADF human task forms will be deployed and running, so you will have all your pure composite (SCA) applications running in the SOA/BPM managed server and all BPM human task forms running on a separate managed server.
    Hope this helps,
    Anatoli
