Can anyone tell me How or where to book/capture
1.Shift end production for a batch running continuously for months.
2.Shift end production for each machine resource
3.If possible shift end production against each operating personnel
These details demanded by client to calculate incentives for operators and to monitor the machine performance.

Hi Anirudh
OPM is a batch based reporting. As a solution my suggestion is to treat each shift as one batch with logic built into the batch numbering (XXX-01) to find out all the batches created in OPM in reality belonging to each batch or by a DFF at the batch header level to track. Once in batch based you can capture any and all information. Regarding the operation personnel I am not sure of the same. Becaue you want reporting by both machine and resource wise. May be you can capture resource wise in the system as step quantity and personnel wise in a customized table (captured via the zoom functionality). Ofcourse the reports would have to be built to view all this data

Shift wise production booking report

Hi experts,
Is there any way to get the shift wise production report?
Through MB51 & with mvt 131 /101 , we get all the production booking for a period but user required this information on shift basis.
If any body had done some Z development, kindly communicate

I you are working in ECC 6.0,you can use enhancement package 3 and do the confirmation in shift basis and also get the shift
details in the COOIS report.

Capacity Restriction of Confirmation (Production Booking)

Dear Experts
Suppose i am having a work centre Cr001 which can produce a material 2400 KG per day. There is production order of 75000 .When User is pucnhing production in CO11 it shows default quantity to (Which is Pending for Production booking),if by mistake user forgot to rectify the default quantity it Posts complete quantity.I want to restrict this.Quantity can be pucnhed maximum of 2400 kg per day .

Hi Sanjay,
I can think of 2 things off the head:
1. In OPK4, tick mark the propose quantities check box, so thereby the system automatically proposes the yield qty & now you can train the user to modify the proposed qty only if there is any difference, else post with the proposed quantities.
2. You can meet your need with an user-exit -> confpp05
Here you can specify your logic say, while the Confirmation Type is Final Confirmation or Auto Final Confirmation, the yield qty should be greater than zero or it could be zero if the scrap qty is equal to operation quantity. If these conditions fail, then put a pop up message to the user saying that while posting a final confirmation for the order, they should enter the quantity.

I've seen The Secrets of House Music Production by Marc Adamo (Paperback), The Dance Music Manual: Tools, toys and techniques
by Rick Snoman (Paperback) and one or two others but wasn't sure if these were now a little dated or do they stand the test of time..?
I'm going to be using Logic Pro 9 as my DAW.

A lot of effort went into the on-line review of "Mastering EJB 2" by Ed Roman et. al. at www.theserverside.com. The Server Side participants constantly reviewed the book while it was being written! Donot perform 561 as your accounting will go for a toss.while performing 561 the accounting entries will be a balance sheet to balance sheet entry .it is a audit issue as you cannot create any material without incurring expenses hence follow the following steps
For input material preform 201 issue against a cost center
acc entries
Stock acc Cr
Consumption acc Dr
For out put material perform 501
COGM acc Cr
Stcok acc Dr

How can I purchase itunes products (books/music) from a different country?

I'm from mexico but moved to Canada, when I try to purchase music or books from Mexico the iStore doesn't let me do it, it says that my store is in Canada, is there any way I can do it? I would really like to be able to have music and books in spanish, not only in english

You can only buy content from the store where you currently are - to be able to buy from the Mexican store you will need to be in Mexico with a Mexican billing address and a Mexican iTunes account. You can try requesting that the items that you want to buy be added to the Canadian store, but ultimately it's the content provider's (publisher, rerocrd company etc) decision : http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

Book Assignment based on Product Revenue Record

I am trying to figure out a way to assign opportunities to product books based on the product selected in the product revenue field. You can select Revenue as a record type and select the product name as part of the condition. And then assign "revenue" to a book. But I am confused since revenue is part of the oppty record are you assigning the oppty to the book or are you actually assigning just the revenue portion.
Any help will be appreciated.

Creating Production Order from Planned Order

Hi,
We are trying to use the BAPI 'BAPI_PRODORD_CREATE_FROM_PLORD' to create Prod. Orders. But it is failing with the message, 'Cannot be saved. Maintain serial no.' Now, the problem is there is no input parameter in this BAPI for providing the serial numbers. Our current Z program manually generates the Serial Numbers and uses BDC for 'CO48' to create the Prod. Order but has a horrible performance and for that reason we are trying to switch to BAPI instead).
Now, the question is how best to achieve this objective: Use the BAPI to generate Prod. Orders from Planned orders with user-given serial numbers when there is no input option in the BAPI?
I think of couple of options but not sure how good they are:
1) Can we create/attach the serial numbers to the equipment/material first and then create production orders?
2) Use implicit enhancement to add another parameter to BAPI and use it instead. This one seems little technically complicated because the BAPI itself calls tons of other programs (including CO48) to create Prod. Orders so the right place to insert the numbers might be difficult.
Any clues how to solve this problem would be appreciated..

REM manufacturing is simpler way to book the production.
What is needed for REM is first question.
1) REM profile
2) Material on REM with this profile and REM tick
3) Have normal BOM and routings/ rate routings and work center
4) Define Production Version
5) Define Product Cost Collector on which all costs are booked whenever you do your confirmation thro MFBF
Having defined these master, once you run MRP you get planned order of PE type. It was earlier also callled as RS i.e Run Schedule.
By using MFBF, backflushing transaction can book the production. REM is period based type of production booking unlike discrete where you make a production order of particular material for some dates, it is lot based production booking.

Work Flow - Suggestions, tutorials, or Books

Hello All,
I've been teaching myself AE, as well as Ps, Ai, and Pre Pro. (Creative Suite 4)
I'm somewhat comfortable with a couple of the applications but by no means a master of any. However, I think that its takes me too long to do some things, and I believe that I have encounter some problems because of my work flow and probably could have avoided them if I had formal training.
It could also be that I don't have a frame of reference and don't know how long things actually take, and to me, I just feel like I'm moving slow. I have been surprised to find out that a particular music video or special effect that I saw took a TEAM of people, a MONTH(s) to create.
For those of you who have gone to school and learned AE (or the other programs) with an instructor and a planned course, do you think you would have grasped the program(s) and how to make your creative ideas come to life on screen as easily if you had not gone to school and learned on your own?
Now that I am learning a 3D program (Blender) and will be trying to incorporate AE, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator and Blender all together, when needed, and I was wondering if there is any book that deals with the proper workflow. Or is just doing the tutorials and building up knowledge/skills the way. Practice makes perfect but does practice make efficient? And I haven't even gotten into the scripts or expressions YET.
In buying the Creative Suite I had visions of making MOVIES/videos with all the special effects, flashing lights, disappearing acts, etc... and since all these applications came together in the Creative Suite- its ment for and possible for a person to do ALL things, by him or herself, --maybe my thinking is wrong and one should specialize and get with a team.
Is it that when one is trying to create a certain effect or look, knowing each application and its abilities would sort of guide you to the correct work flow?? But until you know these applications -- Very Well--, its a lot like stumbling in the dark and trying out different blending modes.
Is there a book that lays out the proper or most efficient workflow. I have been reading several booking on AE and also some on Pr Ps and Ai and doing tutorials on line, and learning Blender on line at CreativeCow.net but the books don't teach workflow.

One unfortunate side-effect of the Production Premium package is that it's one serial# that is designed to be for one user and therefore some have made the leap to the conclusion that one person can be an expert in all those applications...I think it's 11 apps (depending on where you draw the line on what's an app and what's a utility, etc.) I've actually seen a couple job descriptions in corporate environments written around the contents of the Production Premium software compilation.
...'workflow' is a pretty deep topic that is hard to learn in abstract. It's also so wildly variable and evolving so fast that codifying it is pointless. I started an HD post production book for Focal Press some years ago, but abandoned it as a lack of cooperation and transparency from manufacturers and the sheer velocity of development on all fronts...computers, codecs, displays, cameras...just prevented anything from being complete and timely.
Unfortunately the internet has spawned the idea that if enough of us with 20, 30, or 40 years experience just keep brain-dumping into cyber-space, eventually anybody will be able to somehow 'proxy' all that experience through 3 days of intense Googling. It just doesn't work that way.
Like most of us, you'll need some time in the chair to be able to really get a handle on what you need to plan for and prioritize as workflow is really specific to everyone's specific circumstances.
You'll have to start with specific questions, and get specific answers, start to accumulate the answers until they start to connect...then the Googling helps to fill in some gaps...practical experience refines your ideas on what really works and what doesn't, you add that to what you know about your tools...suddenly you're an expert.
...and usually, the decades it takes to get there fly by pretty quickly. I have no idea what happened to the last 25 years.

If you open the Library in Aperture you'll be able to edit the book.

When I open a library I created in iPhoto 9.6 in Aperture 3.6, the Photo Books will give me this warning:
"iPhoto Print Projects" cannot be edited in Aperture."

Books, calendars and cards you create in iPhoto are visible in the Source list in Aperture, but cannot be edited. Books, web pages, and web journals you create in Aperture are not visible in iPhoto.

Buying English Language Products with a German iTunes Account

I want to buy english langauge products (books and films). However because I live in Germany and my iTunes account has a German addresse, etc. iTunes always redirects me to the German iTunes and says I am not allowed to buy from the US or UK iTunes where all the english language content is.
How can I purchase english languge material?

some movies on the German iTS are offered in english. look for this entry
or, for tv shows (not all, mind you), go to main page for tv show, then do this
this will (or will not) bring up the english version.
as for books, you will have to resort to kindle from Amazon in order to get the original language in Germany. the kindle app for the iPad/iPod Touch is not quite iBooks but @ least you get your english books.

Wrong selection of Production line in MFBF.

We are having one SFG say 'X' containing three production version say 001,002, and 003 for production line PL-1000, PL-2000, and PL3000 with same Receiving storage location. We are usingh standard REM profile 0002-Final backflush w. activities with all other PP master data correctly.
While doing backflush for production version 001 system is giving right Production line i.e. PL-1000 for posting activities. But we are trying for the same for Production version 002 or 003 system is though populating/exploding proper/right BOm as per production version but it is giving production line 'PL-1000' for these versi

1.Material X(FERT) initially with BOM Alt1 & Rate routing 1 or say (prod.Line 1) I create a Production
version >product Cost Collector>Pre.Cost Estimate-->Data saved.
Now say in REM profile 0001---> 0001 - GI backflush at GR Posting & for cost Accounting the radio button
for Backflush using standard cost estimate for the material.Now let's assume initially this REM profile is
assigned in the material master.
2.I'm creating a different Rate routing and assigning Prod.Line2 for this.--->second production version --->
product Cost Collector>pre.Cost Estimate->Data Saved.
3.Now create a new REM profile say 0004 - with GI backflush at GR Posting & for cost accounting select
the radio button Using Data from Preliminary Costing for Product Cost Collector.
4.Now assign this new REM profile in the material Master say 0004 and after that check in MFBF,select
the respective production version and check whether you are getting the proper result.
5.A material can have only one standard cost estimate made out of a BOM & routing combination.So it
has happened through your production version 1(where prod.Line1 is assigned).Now suppose if you want to
doa production booking using prod.version2 whose manufacturing cost will differ from prod version1,so
that's the reason I'm asking you to change the REM profile which will to take the cost from Pre.Costing
from the Product Cost collector.(As per the new REM profile will to do the production confirmation manually
selecting the prod.version).
Check & revert back.

As this is Repetitive Manufacturing then , you should maintain the Product cost collector also. Please do maintain this & then try.
When u enter the group no of routing & also the alternat BOM & click on check at the top of the screen, When you click on check button then, the signals will turn to green if you have used the valid BOM & Routing group no.. If you get green in this screen then, there is no problem with Production Version.
Please do let me know for any clarifications.
