Re-publishing to iTunes - should it take as long as first time???

Last week I "shared" an iMovie '09 project to iTunes.
When watching it a few minutes later I realised I'd made some mistakes, so I went back to iMovie edited it some more (one new sound effect plus I copied one scene from another project). I then re-published it to iTunes, expecting it to take another half hour like last time. But it was done in less than 5 minutes (if even that).
So I figured it was able to "overlay" the changes in the original and create a new file.
But I've tried this twice since with two other projects but they just start from scratch when sharing.
Was I mistaken about how fast it worked the first time?
Or could I be doing something wrong this time?

No you shouldn't expect this everytime you sync your Nano. The conversion process to 128 kpbs AAC option may be the cause of the issue. However, they should now be already converted, so the next time you sync your iPod, it should only take a fraction of the amount of time it has this first time.
In short, no need to worry.

New Nano. Installed itunes on my laptop...moved all my music into the library. Checked the songs I want on my and chose to sync the lower 128kbps for syncing. iTunes Store for Windows. Everytime I try an access the iTunes Store it takes really long to connect and then it says iTunes store cannot be access. I think I am up to date with iTunes Verison, I Have 11.0.2.26 but no matter what I try it does not connect. HELP Please???

An app continues to say "installing" when nothing is happening. It has been several hours now. It's only a book so should not take this long. I have tried deleting it and that did not work.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer

I have over 20 songs and apps on my phone and when i connect it to my computer none will transfer over into my Itunes on my computer this is the first time this has done this and i dont want to loose anything, everything is up to date so im not sure why this is happening
The computer must be authorized to the same account you have on your iPhone. Connect the phone and choose Transfer Purchases from the iTunes File menu.

Why does publishing in 1.0.1 take so long?
I updated some pages tonight, the first time I've used iWeb since upgrading to 1.0.1, and it is taking an excruciating long time to publish. Has anyone else encountered this problem?
I read today on mac.com that 1.01 updated the directory which iweb publishes - to simplify the address. Because of this, the entire site needs to be republished. It took me 15-20 attempts before mine worked. Now everything seems to be fine.

Should photos take so long to send?
On Skype, my friends and I like sending pics to each other. Problem is, when I send one, it usually take FOREVER! It usually is a while until the person I sent it to sees it. Sometimes it doesn't take that long however. But sometimes, it just says "waiting" and practically never sends. Any suggestions?

Why does it keep asking me to contact iTunes for assistance? I'm a first time iTunes user
As listed, first time using iTunes. When I try to log in on my Mac or iPad mini it kept bringing me to the credit card page and i filled everything correctly, yet it kept asking me to contact iTunes for assistance

Should it take so long to download a TV show I have on iTunes?
Just purchased Apple TV and want to watch one of the many TV shows I have on iTunes. it says it will take 5 hours for it to download before I can watch it on Apple TV. Is That normal. Also, I am have it updating iMatch. I have a large libray. Can that be why I have to wait 5 hours to watch my program?
That doesn't however answer why it takes 5 hours. That may well be your internet speed. The first thing to check would be your internet download speed, you can do this at www.speedtest.net.
HD movies require a recommended speed of 6 Mbps, while SD movies require a recommended speed of 2.5 Mbps. -
I Have CC and it's taking so long to install on my new Mac book pro. The CC panel also says its syncing files down at the bottom, it's so slow it looks like it will never finish. Should it be taking this long?
I had an issue where I had to wipe my mac as well. What you have to do to format the hard drive and reinstall is this:
Restart the computer while holding down the option key. Choose the recovery disc. Find the main hard disc and hit format. Then you can reinstall Lion via the internet, it takes a while though, my computer took 5 hours or so.
For your first question, if you got the family version of office, I believe you have 3 computers you can authorize it on. If you are not sure, look it up in the apple store.
For the second: Time machine would probably be your best option, but I would reccomend restoring from a backup before you were having problems, and restore that one (put new files you need on another external or a digital-online storeage site such as dropbox.) To restore a backup, restart your computer and hold command+R and select "Restore from Time Machine Backup" (for more information go here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1427 )

I work for a company who want all their POP3 accounts switched to IMAP. There are around 5 accounts with over 20,000 emails with HUGE attachments (CAD and SolidWorks 3D Designs) and a lot more with only 100-500 emails. It seems I will have to manually copy all the emails into the new inbox/sentbox/archives but, as you can imagine, it takes longer than the office opening hours to complete. It's roughly moving 4,000 emails per day. Are there any plugins I could use or should I soldier on with my current method?

JoshTrying to move all those emails into an IMAP mail account means uploading them back to the server, this may have the effect of changing all the dates to the date you uploaded them.
I can think of a couple of options.

These emails will not be on the server, they will be on your computer, but you can still access them via the same Profile under Local Folders. You can create a new IMAP mail account in the same Profile. So both old Pop emails and new IMAP emails can be seen in the same Profile.
If you download the addon 'ImportExporttool', you can move all whole folder and create a backup at the same time.

* select 'ImportExporttools' > Export Folder
* select where to save but not in Thunderbird.
then rename the saved file if it is a default folder name; eg: if it was Inbox to OldInbox. This will also mean you have a backup of that file.

* select 'ImportExporttools' >Import mbox file
* select 'Import directly one or more mbox files and click on OK (As your files may be large, I would do this one file at a time)
* then select the saved file and click on Open
When all folders and emails have been successfully moved and you can see them in Local Folders, you can remove the Pop mail account.

* select the pop mail account
* click on 'Account actions'
* select 'Remove Account'

This means all folder and emails stay in the same place, but the mail account is not actively connecting to the server. You can create a new IMAP mail account in the same Profile. So both old Pop emails and new IMAP emails can be seen in the same Profile.
The downside of this is that if you later click on 'GetMail' whilst looking at those emails in that account, it will attempt to connect to server, discover no password and may prompt for one. Or if you click on 'Get all new messages', it will include the account.
When you want to Write a new message and at the time you were viewing those folders, the email address using that server will also still be available, now if the email address is the same as the IMAP account, this could be confusing especially if one appears to prompt for a password.
This may be irritating if you keep doing it, hence why moving emails to Local Folders may be preferable.
Tools > Account Settings > Server Settings for the mail account
under 'server settings'

Disable the Pop mail account as described in (2) above, but this time you create a new Profile and then create the new IMAP mail account in the new Profile.
This means that you can still see the old emails but you have to swap Profile to see them and remember to never create a new Write message in the Profile containing the old Pop messages.

* you need to add a space followed by -P (dash and capital P)

Not bad. It helps if you format code/data by putting {noformat}{noformat} before and after it, but apart from that, you've provided enough information I think.
The problem will be that you are using nested loops with embedded SQL statements. Typically this is known to be poor for performance due to the PL/SQL engine having to switch back and forth with the SQL engine. What we usually say is that, if you can do a task using single SQL statements, then this will be far more performant than mixing SQL with PL/SQL.

Should importing take so long?
I am importing a 20 minute mpeg4 film into imovie. When I do so, it says that it is "generating thumbnails" and it will take about 160 minutes. I am using a brand new Imac 2.8 hgz with 2 GB memory. I was just wondering if this is normal? I plan on editing family movies that are much longer than 20 mins. and if this is a normal action, then I may need to seek another option.

Once installed, pop your DVD into your Mac, doubleclick on the MPEG streamline icon to launch it, File > OPEN DVD > select the DVD from the list of Drives > which should bring up a folder VIDEO_TS, click select > choose from the drop-down menu list the track you are interested in.
You're not done yet...
Once the footage is shown in the MPEG Streamclip box go up to the menu bar and select FILE > EXPORT TO QUICKTIME, from the new dialog box select compression as APPLE DV - PAL, and move the compression slider to 100%, Click on make movie... That's it!!!
Repeat the process for all the video clips on the DVD.
Once you have done this, simply import the movie into iMovies like you would normally.
Should take less than 20 mins from start to finish. -
ITunes 10.6 takes a long time to sync iPhone 4 iOS 5.1
Yesterday I had to have my phone replaced and I went through all the fun stuff of restoring my phone. Got all that done, no problem.
I did however discover one problem when it came to syncing my phone. I also sync over WiFi.
In iTunes 10.6 (latest version, no beta), it will get to the end (step 5 of 5) and just sit there, telling me "Syncing Tones or Syncing Data to iPhone - Waiting for items to sync" It will sit there for a very long time, I don't know how long, because I will cancel the sync or walk away with my phone.
I know for the 'Tones' error, it will just sit there, doing whatever, and I only have 1 tone, and it's already on the phone.
Looking for any advice on how I can get this issue resolved.Start by making sure you have the latest version of iTunes.

If it's what you're seeing, you can try resetting Winsock as a temporary fix or folllow along with the article.
1. To do so, please do the following in an administrator user:
Windows Vista and Windows 7: Right click All Programs and choose Accessories > Command Prompt. Choose to open as an administrator.
Windows XP: Click Start > Run and type in cmd.
2. Enter the following command:
netsh winsock reset
3. Restart the computer and test the issue.
Note: If the issue returns, third-party software may be reinserting the LSP.
