Re: Q150 DisplayPort to HDMI output FAIL

Got it.  I replaced the Video driver package which has an audio driver as well

@shidevil,
This is currently a temporary workaround. The issue now is that the recommended Siig DP->HDMI converter works with the new drivers however this issue has been brought up to engineering as well and the team are working on this.
This is only a temporary workaround until engineering get this issue fixed. I will post back once a fix has been done for this.

  • Q150 DisplayPort to HDMI output FAIL

I upgraded my Q150 from Win7HP to Win7Ult and now do not get audio out through the HDMI port.  It was working with the 7HP but I've lost the capability.  I do get video out.   I have checked all the settings and downloaded and installed new realtek audio dirvers.  Still no joy.  I would guess it's a driver issue but don't know which one.  Any suggestions?

  • Is HDMI Output have HDCP on all the time?

I have an older HD TV. It does not have an HDMI input only DVI and it cannot decode HDCP signals. I have an HDMI to DVI adapter and when some programming turns on my HDCP on my DirecTV DVR I cannot watch the program through DVI. Does anyone know if all of Apple TV2 HDMI output has HDCP enabled all the time?
If that is the case Apple will have a lot of unhappy people that buy their HDMI to DVI cable to connect their TV, as very few DVI TV support HDCP.

This is from the licening agreement the manufacturers have to follow for HDCP:
They don't allow them to allow HDCP TO BE DISABLED. Must be the key to FREE HD copying
    GENERAL IMPLEMENTATION QUESTIONS
    1. Has the Licensed Product been designed and manufactured so there are no switches,
buttons, jumpers, or software equivalents of the foregoing, or specific traces that can be cut, by
which the content protection requirements of the HDCP Specification or Compliance Rules can
be defeated or by which Decrypted HDCP Content can be exposed to unauthorized copying?
    2. Has the Licensed Product been designed and manufactured so there are no service menus
or other functions (such as remote-control functions, switches, check boxes, or other means) that
can intercept the flow of Decrypted HDCP Content or expose it to unauthorized copying?
    3. Does the Licensed Product have service menus, service functions, or service utilities that
can redirect or expose the flow of Decrypted HDCP Content within the device?
If Yes, please describe these service menus, service functions, or service utilities and the
steps that are being taken to ensure that these service tools will not be used to expose or
    misdirect Decrypted HDCP Content.
    4. Does the Licensed Product have service menus or remote control functions that can
defeat the content protection requirements of the HDCP Specification or Compliance Rules?
If Yes, please describe these service menus or remote control functions and the steps that
are being taken to ensure that these service tools will not be used to defeat the content
protection requirements of the HDCP Specification and Compliance Rules.
    5. Explain in detail how the Licensed Product protects the confidentiality of all Device
    Keys.
    6. If the Licensed Product delivers Decrypted HDCP Content from one portion of the
product to another, whether among software modules, integrated circuits or otherwise or a
combination thereof, explain how such portions have been designed, associated and integrated
with each other so that Decrypted HDCP Content is reasonably secure from interception and
copying as required in Section 3.1 of the Robustness Rules.
    7. Are any HDCP functions implemented in Hardware?
If Yes, complete hardware implementation questions.
    8. Are any HDCP functions implemented in Software?
If Yes, complete software implementation questions.
    SOFTWARE IMPLEMENTATION QUESTIONS
    9. In the Licensed Product, describe the method by which all Device Keys are stored in a
protected manner, or that Device Keys are not accessible to software.
    10. Using the grep utility or equivalent, are you unable to discover any Device Keys in binary
    images of any software?
    11. In the Licensed Product, for all HDCP values accessible to software for which
confidentiality or integrity is required as indicated in Table B-1 of the HDCP Specification,
describe the method by which these values are created, held and used in a protected manner.
    12. Describe the method being used to prevent commonly available debugging or
decompiling tools (e.g., Softice) from being used to obtain Highly Confidential values contained
within or generated by the HDCP functions implemented in software.
    13. Describe the method by which the Licensed Product self-checks the integrity of
component parts in such manner that modifications will cause failure of authorization or
decryption as described in Section 3.2.2 of the Robustness Rules. Describe what happens when
    integrity is violated.
    14. To assure that integrity self-checking is being performed, perform a test to verify that the
executable will fail to work once a binary editor is used to modify a random byte of the
executable image containing HDCP functions, and describe the method and results of the test.
    HARDWARE IMPLEMENTATION QUESTIONS
    15. In the Licensed Product, describe the method by which all Device Keys are stored in a
protected manner and how their confidentiality is maintained.
    16. Using the grep utility or equivalent, are you unable to discover any Device Keys in binary
images of any persistent memory devices?
    17. Describe the method in the Licensed Product by which the HDCP values for which
confidentiality or integrity is required as indicated in Table B-1 of the HDCP Specification, are
created, held and used in a protected manner.
    18. Describe the means used to prevent attempts to replace, remove, or alter hardware
elements or modules used to implement HDCP functions?
    19. In the Licensed Product, does the removal or replacement of hardware elements or
modules that would compromise the content protection requirements of the HDCP Specification
and the Compliance Rules damage the Licensed Product so as to render the Licensed Product
unable to receive, decrypt, or decode HDCP Content?
Notice: This checklist does not supersede or supplant the HDCP Specification, Compliance
Rules, or Robustness Rules. Adopter and its Test Engineers are advised that this checklist does
not address all requirements of the Robustness rules, or the requirements of the HDCP
    Specification and Compliance Rules

No.  I doubt it's a hardware problem either.  It's a matter of getting the right sound drivers loaded for your card.  Don't give up on Arch yet.  These are the experiences you embrace with Arch.  Not run away from! :-)
You said you were new to Arch so stick to the Beginner's Guide starting out https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Beginners'_Guide .  Make sure you read every single sentence related to "sound".
The Wiki is an awesome resource.  https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Main_Page It's power is in the search box so do some generic searches there and it will take you to whole articles related to your problem.
For sound problems, be sure you check out:
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Sound
    and
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/ALSA
    at the very least.
In fact there's a whole page devoted to your sound card:
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Realtek_ALC892
It mentions installing some packages from the AUR.
For AUR, you really want to install "yaourt".
    Read about that here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Yaourt
Once you have that installed then you use it just like pacman with all the same switches.    So to install the "alsa-driver.hda-intel.hda-codec-realtek-git" package from the AUR as the Realtec_ALC892 wiki page suggests, you'd issue "yaourt -S alsa-driver.hda-intel.hda-codec-realtek-git" from the command line running as your regular user.
Don't give up.  It's time to dig!
Hopefully this will get you a little further down the street.

  • Portege M800-105 - HDMI output driver for XP?

    Hi,
I've got a question wich belongs to the HDMI output.
I have put Windows XP Home on my Portege with all driver from the Toshiba support page but my HDMI out does not works.
Now I've seen that there is a driver for Windows Vista called Toshiba HDMI Output.
Does anybody knows a driver called like this for Windows XP?
Or has anyone the same problem working with XP but the HDMI output does not works?
I hope someone can help me with this problem.
    thx
    dschumacher

    Hi
As far as I know this is a Intel High Definition Audio HDMI driver.
Im not a M800 owner but Ive got a U400 Satellite with HDMI output and installed XP.
To be honest I didnt notice any yellow exclamation marks in my device manager but I installed the Intel High Definition Audio HDMI driver from the Intel page
    http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/sb/CS-009244.htm
Maybe this site will help you
But note; some notebook features are not available in Win XP but only running Vista!

  • HDMI output doenst work

    Hi,
I have a z930 ultrabook and im dying to get the hdmi output work.
It works fine when i connect to a TV.
However, doesnt work at all when i connect it to a VGA screen and use the VGA to HDMI converter.
I tried to use it on a normal laptop, works fine.
Is it because my laptop wont take any converter or what?
P/s: I need to use 3 screens at work so that's why i need to use the hdmi socket. The other VGA socket works just fine
If anyone could help, I would really appreciate it

This HDMI connection still does not work. It only shows on the TV not on both. I have spoken to Toshiba Software and they have a fix which are some special tools at a one off charge of £84. They say the problem is to do with the HDMI only sending at 30 Hz and the TV being at 60Hz. They also say the fix will provide mirroring as the resolution of the TV and Encore are not compatible. As I only paid £177 for Encore I am reluctant to pay such a high amount. They also advised that you must be connected with the mains adaptor because the battery is not powerful enough to sustain the signal. My laptop works fine and I have a new HDMI cable for Encore.
    Any further thoughts?

  • Hdmi output not found under playback in the control panel

I am trying to get sound to go through my tv with my HDMI cable.  I looked in the control panel under sound - playback.  I do not see the option of the hdmi output.  I have right clicked on the speaker and clicked disabled and it still does not come up.
I have idt high definition audio codec driver on my computer.  Is it compatible?
I have also tried to connect an rca cable to the headphone jack and hook it to the tv like that and sound still didn't work?
    Do you have any suggestions?

    Hi again tfinley,
It is good to hear back from you!
Since you have updated all of the original drivers on your system, and your notebook still does not display an HDMI audio option, I recommend returning your system back to a previous restore point when this option was available. This can be done by following the steps in this document on Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8).
Should the problem continue, I suggest performing a backup and recovery of your operating system. This can be done by following the steps in this resource on Backing Up Your Files (Windows 8), as well as Performing an HP system recovery (Windows 8). This should return your system back to factory defaults.

  • HDMI output not working with AT 200 under ICS

    Hello,
I connected the HDMI output to a Sony KDL 32 E 5500. It simply does not work.
The same TV HDMI input works fine with a DVD player.
The AT 200 tablet is under ICS (upgrade in France).
I tried both HDMI configurations : full screen and video window.
Should I send it back for repair ?

    Hi
There are two outputs: Mirror and video area only.
    Mirror:
External device copies the image on the tablet screen
    Video area only:
The external display device shows the playback when open a multimedia
But You should firstly check the Android Settings:
Under the option Screen you will find the option HDMIO video mode
Tap this to switch between the HDMI video output mode.
You could also try to connect the HDMI device under following conditions:
    - Tablet is turned on
    - Tablet is completely turned off
    - when you connect TV or external monitor to HDMI port, then display output is set to HDMI
    - when you plug and replug the cable, wait at least 5 sec before you replug the HDMI cable.

  • HDMI output not working since firmware upgrade

I would appreciate troubleshooting tips for getting the HDMI output to work. I just tried it recently for the first time in a long while, approximately 4 weeks after doing the firmware update to 2.2. When I did it before, plugging in the HDMI cable would automatically start output to my HD TV. Now that is no longer the case. Changing the HDMI output from "Auto" to "720p" does not make a difference either.
Otherwise, everything works well and I've been satisfied with my Creative 7 to date. I have installed several apps so it could be that there is a conflict and nothing related to the firmware upgrade.
Any troubleshooting suggestions would be appreciated.

Well I've received my refurbished device for about a week now. The HDMI still doesn't work either with Zii Video or a 3rd party app MoboPlayer. ?I am tempted to reinstall the firmware upgrade again. Is it ok to try this or is it only a one time attempt?
Perhaps this should be a separate thread but are any of the "Phone 2 SD" apps compatible with the Ziio 7? Whenever I use the "Move to SD card" option, there is still no program moved to the external SD card. ?I have a Ziio 7 with 6 GB of memory as well as a 6GB micro SD card. ?My memory settings are:
    - SD Card: total space - 5.43GB; Available space - 5.43GB
    - Device media storage: Total space - 2.48GB; Available Space - 2.3 GB
    - System storage: Total Space - .97 GB; Available space - .59GB
In Settings>Applications>Manage Applications, the "On SD Card" tab lists several programs lists several apps but none of them are actually on the external SD card.

  • Can't get audio HDMI output to work on ViewSonic VX2453 monitor

I have a 13" mid 2011 MacBook Air and a new ViewSonic VX2453 monitor. I used the Monoprice mini display port to HDMI converter with audio and connected the monitor to my computer's thunderbolt port. The video works perfectly, but the sound isn't working at all. I set my computer's sound output in settings to VX2453 series (type: HDMI), and I set my monitor's audio input to HDMI. Nothing. I also tried changing the frequency in Audio MIDI Setup, which someone recommended on amazon  for the monoprice adapter, but that didn't work either.
I tested the monitor's sound by switching audio input instead to "audio in" and connected to my headphone jack, and that worked so the monitor's sound is fine.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Hi - I'm just setting up my VX2453, as well.  I got sound to come out of it via the same HDMI output setting on the Mac as you describe, so I think you're doing the right thing.
Be sure you've selected the correct HDMI input (?).
Related, on my monitor, the audio can't be adjusted anywhere other than through the cumbersome volume control on the monitor. That is, when playing over the HDMI on the monitor's speakers, the volume controls on the MacBook Pro no longer respond (grayed out).
Anyone know how to make the volume controls on the MBPro respond under that setup?
    Thanks.

  • E520 - HDMI Output not working on Samsung TV - although works on other devices

    Laptop does not recognise TV
I know there are a number of threads with similar questions, I have been through a number of them, however have not come across a solution that works.
    I have a ThinkPad E520 running Windows 8.1 Enterprise Edition x64
The Laptop has two Graphics adapters
Intel HD Graphics 3000 (Drive - 9.17.10.2867) - I have recently reverted back from the latest Intel driver to the latest Lenovo
AMD Radeon 6600M and 6700M Series (Driver - 13.251.9001.1001) - latest on AMD website
The TV is a Samsung 5 Series 5200 58 inch
We use the TV at work for presentations and demo etc
At my desk extend my desktop to a Philips monitor via HDMI and have no problems at all, I also using with HD TV at home, so HDMI port is ok.  Other laptops us the TV fine, so nothing wrong there either.
    Things I have tried
The obvious 'Windows key + P' extended, duplicated, restarted and tried again
Did the same as above using screen resolution page - TV is not detected, tried hitting detect - nothing
    Disabling AMD adapter
Uninstalling Intel HD and reinstalling latest INTEL drivers with HDMI output plugged in
Uninstalling Intel HD and reinstalling latest LENOVO drivers with HDMI output plugged in (as suggested in other posts)
Tried different HDMI cables, using HDMI input 1 and 2 in the TV
Initially you may think its the TV, however we have a number of Lenovo E530's they all work, the problem only exists with the E520's with the switchable graphics.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Dave

Hi- its working now.  The problem is that all your contacts needs to update Skype and have the latest version and then bingo - it works.  Its fab now.
Problem solved and set for Christmas call around.

  • HDMI output not working on HP Pavilion 15

Hi guys, i am new here on HP Forum.
My problems started when i got my new laptop and i HATED windows 8.
So a friend of mine had a disc with Windows 7 on it.
After the installation nothing worked, Not wlan, USB, HDMI and so on,
I serched for days for new drivers and found the most of them on HPs site.
But i have not been abled to find any working driver for my HDMI output.
Can you guys help me with that?
    // Jesper Forsberg - Sweden
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Hi:
The only suggestion I can offer would be to try the graphics driver from AMD if you have not already done so.
Your notebook is not supported by HP for W7, and especially not supported for 32 bit operating systems.
    http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/mobile?os=Windows%207%20-%2032
As a last resort, try manually installing the W7 x64 graphics driver from your notebook's support and driver page (sp66999).
I explored the driver folder, and there are 32 bit drivers included in that file.

  • HDMI Output Not Working on Lenovo B540

Yesterday morning the HDMI output on the back of our Lenovo B540 stopped working all of a sudden. I have a projector as a secondary monitor that I use for media applications which connects via a SVGA to HDMI converter which has worked flawlessly for months until yesterday.  My first inclination was the converter but after some troubleshooting I have determined that the issue is somewhere in the Lenovo AIO system.  Below are the steps I followed to make my determination:
    1. Tried connecting Lenovo to another known-good monitor and nothing.  The display property picks up the monitor's attributes like make and model and even resolution but no display.
    2. Plugged projector into another computer WITHOUT converter and it WORKED.
    3. Plugged in project into the same computer that I used in step 2 above WITH converter and it still WORKED.
Steps taken to resolve (without success yet):
    1. Updated Intel HD Graphics display driver to 10.18
    2. Installed latest graphics chipset update from another forum post I found suggesting that might be the issue.
    3. Changing "Source Select" from bottom right hand corner of system (icon with arrows forming circle) but it ONLY shows "PC" option.  Not sure if that's the issue or not, but wanted to mention it.
My next step is to completely uninstall the display driver and try seeing if second monitor shows display.
My last step which I would like to avoid if all possible is a factory reset as I have many applications installed that I would like to avoid reinstalling if at all possible.
Any further assistance with this issue would be greatly appreciated.  I feel like it's a driver/configuration issue, but I'm not finding it  yet.

I wanted to reply that I just discovered that my Lenovo AIO no longer likes my converter.  I'm not sure why as I have proven that it works by using it on another device.  The other device is a laptop running Windows 7 Pro.
On a haunch, I plugged in my HDMI TV which has a native HDMI connection and it WORKED.  So, I suppose I'm back to the drawing board and this is indeed not a Lenovo hardware issue.
Does anyone know of any issues with using a HDMI to VGA converter on a Lenovo B540 AIO?  Link below:
    http://www.startech.com/AV/Converters/Video/HDMI-to-VGA-Adapter-Converter-for-Desktop-PC-Laptop-Ultr...
I have the one above but I just noticed there is a HD2VGAE which I'm not sure what the difference is.
    Thanks!
