  • Getting e-mails every day regarding subscription expiration

I keep getting e-mails saying that my subscription has expired and my payment method has failed. I had an issue last year where someone charged 8.00AUD to my Skype account.  This was not me, so I contacted Skype support and changed my password as requested.  The 8.00AUD credit was removed from my account, but never refunded to my debit card.  My account was then placed on lock from purchasing any services.  I contacted them to have them remove the lock, but it was never removed. Now the problem... I keep getting e-mailed once or twice a day EVERY day saying my subscription has expired and they can't process the payment on file.  I don't understand this.  I don't have a subscription nor could I have a payment profile since my account is LOCKED. I don't even know if the e-mail is correctly associated with my account, it has my first name, but offers no account information.  I checked my account online and in the application and I have no subscriptions listed at all. I've tried for the past week or so to use the support portal to put a ticket in or speak to someone, but every time I go there it says "Sorry, we're having problems.  Please try again later"  I have been seeing this message everytime I try to put a support ticket in for the past few months at least. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

        Hey konfusedfae,
I'm sorry for the incorrect e-mails that you have been receiving. We definitely do not want to be a cause of concern.
Your security is important to us and we would never do anything to jepordize your personal information. Do you and your sister possibly share an e-mail address?

  • Regarding Subscription Pay Monthly... URGENT!

Hello expertise in this forum!. I want to call to one of my friend in Indonesia. I actually tried to find alternative easy way calling internationally with cheaper cost because my operator charged me with a lot of amount. So, I'm interested with 60 minutes subscription per month.
the question is, is it this subscription meant for every 60 munites per day or I can call in one month for 60 minutes (like in one month the total call that I can make is 60 minutes only)?
    Thank you guys..

There are no 60 minute per day subscriptions.  The 60 minutes is per month.

  • Question regarding Subscription liabilities

    Hi
    I am looking to buy "Unlimited India" subscription. I have two questions;
Is there any minimum term/contract for "Unlimited India"?
Does "Unlimited India" include all the mobiles and landlines in INDIA?
Will buy after getting answer to these question.

    Hi,
Unlimited India can be purchased for minimum 1 month and it includes mobiles and landlines. All India subscriptions include mobiles & landlines and after 1 month subscription will extend automatically unless you cancel it from your account page: https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA1881/How-do-I-cancel-my-subscription
You can cancel recurring payments any time you wish.

  • Disabled subscription sends notifications, relative date not working properly

    Hi
I have two problems regarding subscriptions:
1.When I disable a subscription, should I receive any further notifications? I am receiving notifications despite disabling the subscription.
(I have cloned the template and deleted the original template, then sending email notification will be stopped, but as soon as assigning new template to subscription, sending emails starts, whether subscription is enabled or not)
    2. The criteria for subscription is as follows:
Status = Active or Status = Pending and Source = Portal and Created date [relative] = [now-7d]
Regarding the criteria, it must check whether it has past 7 days from incident creation, but it starts sending notifications without considering the [now -7d] condition.
    I use SCSM 2012 SP1 - Rollup 6.
    Am I doing something wrong?
    YSobhdel

The actual criteria was Created Date greater than or equal to [now-7d]
What I am trying to accomplish is that whenever an open incident (i.e., not resolved or closed incident) is active more than 7 days, assigned to user will be notified.
My Question is , why is it happening in the first place, this criteria is nearly impossible to catch (equal to [now-7d]), yet it is sending notifications from the first day. I have testes the notification with
Created Date greater than or equal to [now-7d] as well but to no avail, still the same problem.
About delay, I am 100% sure that this is not performance problem, since this workflow is set to periodically check criteria and is run once a day. I have waited for the setting to apply for about two days and this is far beyond any delay! (for two consecutive
days, I have received this notification).

  • Subscription based ios App

I have a confusion regarding subscription in the app. I want to upload my app to the app store with some price tier. I want user to pay every month some subscription fee to use complete functionality of the app. I have seen apps that are available as free with subscription but my app will be paid with subscription.
    Will Apple reject my app?
    Thanks.

Hi Leena! How did this end for you?

  • Subscription/Notification Mail Content

    Hi all,
I am encountering a problem regarding subscriptions. I have a subscription service running here wich should notify the user about changes made to threads(forum) to which he has subscribed (if someone reply a thread or create a new  thread, all other users should receive a e-mail notification). The e-mail notification is properly working (mails are sent), but the problem is the content of the mail. These users ONLY RECEIVE A LINK which refer to the new created thread or to the reply for a existing thread. Is there a way to receive the FULL CONTENT OF THE NEW POST?
Can anyone please give me any suggestions? If anyone has any idea, it would be greatly appreciated and rewarded.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Hélio.

    Hi Detlev
I got a message running regarding this subject but have incountered a nother problem when I upgraded to patch 28 on a sp2. I'm almost sure the upgrade has solved the problem, but I cant verify it before the other problem is solved.

  • Shantanu Narayen, President and CEO of Adobe

Here is some general information about the history of Adobe for new users. But later on quotes from Shantanu Narayen, President and CEO of Adobe.
    1) In 2005 Adobe buys Macromedia:
"On April 18, 2005 Adobe Systems announced a definitive agreement to acquire Macromedia in an all-stock transaction valued at approximately $3.4 billion."
Great! Just buy out competitors and add their programs to your portfolio:
    ColdFusion, Flash, Fireworks, Dreamweaver.
    2) In 2009 Adobe buys Omniture
Shantanu Narayen led the $1.8 billion acquisition of Omniture, Inc.
In a press release, Adobe's president and CEO Shantanu Narayen called the deal a "game changer for both Adobe and our customers"
There is no denying that. Adobe knows how to change the game. Usually without any warning or consideration to the end user whatsoever.
    Quote from Shantanu Narayen:
"When you think about digital media, Adobe is already the largest provider of tools and services for the creative community. Everybody is re-tooling for the future of web - devising strategies for new and multiple screens (television, mobile, tablet/PC)and app stores. With devices like photoshop touch and cloud-based services, we are aggressively moving towards that shift."
Adobe? Agressive? No, no, no. You must be thinking of a different Adobe.
    wikipedia.org:
"Critics have accused Omniture of attempting to hide the fact they are collecting data. Critics claim they do this by sending the information to a domain name that looks and sounds similar to an IP address used to connect to devices on the local network and not the Internet. This has led to speculation that the domain name is used to trick users or firewall rules."
Sounds like something Adobe would want to own alright.
    3) In 2012 Adobe buys Behance
    Quote from the Behance blog:
"Our mission to connect and empower the creative world is getting a big boost today. Our team is thrilled to join Adobe and take Behance to the next level. We’ve been given an opportunity to influence creative work, careers, and the creative industry on a grand scale, and we intend to do just that."
Sigh, please don't. just don't. We are being influenced enough as it is.
Quote from Shantanu Narayen (December 2012):
"I'm pleased to report we delivered record revenue of $1,153,000,000 in Q4. This performance helped us achieve record revenue of $4.4 billion in fiscal year 2012."
At the very high expense of customer satisfaction and loyalty. Time will tell how strong your monopoly really is.
    Shantanu Narayen:
"At Adobe, we're focused on 2 large market opportunities: Digital Media and Digital Marketing. 2012 was a milestone year in terms of innovation with our Creative Cloud and Adobe Marketing Cloud. We achieved great success in both these areas."
    Shantanu Narayen:
"Adobe is changing how we provide value to a broader set of customers. We will deliver customized offerings for individuals, workgroups and large enterprises. As with all successful subscription services, we're offering a free trial program. This enables an easy on-ramp and a funnel of prospects that we intend to convert to paying subscribers."
Turning us into future Cloud drug addicts, The first one's always free! Thanks Adobe!
"We have begun transitioning enterprise customers to enterprise term license agreements, which provide them cloud services and updates to our desktop tools. Pricing for each segment is designed to reward loyal customers and aggressively transition them to the cloud."
Once again. Adobe? Agressive? Surely you jest!
"An advisory agency, Brendan Wood International, had ranked the 'Top Gun CEOs'  for 2009 based on their ability to make smart acquisitions, make themselves visible and expand the company's value propositions, among other things."
"Shantanu Narayen has been in the industry for a very long time and always has a strong sense of what the next key steps are in terms of positioning the company in the industry."
Yeah well, I guess you can't always be right.
"When Adobe announced in 2003 it was introducing product "collections and suites", customers and industry watchers wondered about Adobe's motivations. Was it all about money? Ultimately Adobe's Creative Suite of products became the standard.
Narayen anticipates a similar kind of embrace for Adobe CC. "A few years from now, people will say, 'How could I even imagine a Photoshop that was not connected to the cloud?'"
Dark times ahead indeed if that happens.
Quote from Shantanu Narayen - May 2013:
"And finally, in monetization, whether it's video that's going to increasingly move to IP networks, whether it's physical retailers who are increasingly moving their business online, I think the more we can transact business and close the loop with respect to monetization, we think that, that's a big opportunity available for us as Adobe."
Yes, having a monopoly sure is awesome. Not having to deal with those pesky free market systems.
    Shantanu Narayen:
"A strategy that we outlined over a couple of years ago is really through the combination of what we call the Creative Cloud and the Marketing Cloud, to really have a complete solution that provides this integrated platform across the entire content life cycle."
In other words, Adobe will get its greedy little hands on everything we could possibly want to do. And aggressively force us to go along with it.
And finally a quote from Steve Jobs when talking about a music subscription service:
“I think you could make available the Second Coming in a subscription model and it might not be successful.”
Let's face it. This 'Cloud scheme' is all about the money. It has no real extra value to us, the ''valued and loyal customers'. The only way to possibly change this as some other users have said on this forum is to vote with your wallet. That's the only thing that matters to the people at the top of Adobe. Money money money.
Customer satisfaction? Adobe doesn't care. Customer loyalty? Adobe doesn't care. And the sad thing is. Eventually we will tire from complaining and just conform to this sad new reality...

You are not viewd by anyone at Adobe as anything but $$$$$$$$$$$$$
Your art your soul or anything else do not matter what matters is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$
    From Adobe to wall street
current and thereby driving higher average revenue per user. Additionally, our shift to a subscription model will increase the amount of recurring revenue that is ratably reported, driven by broader Creative Cloud adoption over the next several years.
To assist with the understanding of this transition and the related shift in revenue described above, we are using certain performance metrics to assess the health and trajectory of our overall Digital Media segment.
These metrics include the total number of current paid subscriptions and Annualized Recurring Revenue ("ARR"). We define ARR as the sum of:
the number of current paid subscriptions, multiplied by the average subscription price paid per user per month, multiplied by twelve months; plus,
twelve months of contract value of Enterprise Term License Agreements ("ETLAs") where the revenue is ratably recognized over the life of the contract.
In addition, we expect renewal rates associated with Creative Cloud, and potentially other subscription offerings, will become key metrics used to measure their performance. Because the majority of Creative Cloud subscriptions have been annual and the Creative Cloud launched in May 2012, we have not yet reached the first anniversary of these annual subscriptions and, therefore, we anticipate that meaningful data regarding subscription renewal rates will first become available later in fiscal year 2013.
CRITICAL ACCOUNTING POLICIES AND ESTIMATES In preparing our Condensed Consolidated Financial Statements in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America ("GAAP") and pursuant to the rules and regulations of the SEC, we make assumptions, judgments and estimates that affect the reported amounts of assets, liabilities, revenue and expenses, and related disclosures of contingent assets and liabilities. We base our assumptions, judgments and estimates on historical experience and various other factors that we believe to be reasonable under the circumstances. Actual results could differ materially from these estimates under different assumptions or conditions. On a regular basis, we evaluate our assumptions, judgments and estimates. We also discuss our critical accounting policies and estimates with the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors. We believe that the assumptions, judgments and estimates involved in the accounting for revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, business combinations, goodwill impairment and income taxes have the greatest potential impact on our Condensed Consolidated Financial Statements. These areas are key components of our results of operations and are based on complex rules requiring us to make judgments and estimates, so we consider these to be our critical accounting policies. Historically, our assumptions, judgments and estimates relative to our critical accounting policies have not differed materially from actual results.
With the exception of the discussion below, there have been no significant changes in our critical accounting policies and estimates during the three months ended March 1, 2013, as compared to the critical accounting policies and estimates disclosed in Management's Discussion and Analysis of Financial Condition and Results of Operations included in our Annual Report on Form 10-K for the year ended November 30, 2012.

  • Using skype to call u.s

i am traveling in france can i use wifi to call back to the states? what package rate is available?

    Hi,
In short answer would be yes, you can call back to US over wifi and available subscriptions can be found: http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/prices/pay-monthly-extra#US
Regarding subscriptions, it only matters where you are calling TO, it doesn't matter if you are in France, Germany or any other country. Make sure you purchase a subscription that covers your calling destinations.

  • Upgrading to Premium

According to the description of Skype Premium, it includes unlimited calling to US & Canada.  I already have an annual subcription for the Unlimited US & Canada with a Skype phone number that isn't going to expire for another 11 months.  Is it possible to just upgrade my existing subscription to Skype Premium rather than purchasing it at full price?

Pretty much this 50% offer is a scam for existing users. If you have an active 'unlimited' subscription of any kind active...including month-to-month you will not get the year's worth of unlimited calling. I just spent 40 minutes with support and the FINALLY admitted the offer page is misleading and 'will try and fix it'.

Hello! As one of our most valued users, welcome to Skype Live Support! My name is Russel. How may I help you?
    09:10:38 schisamo
so I have two questions. first I was a 'skype unlimited' subscriber who upgraded to Skype Premium yesterday. I am confused on whether it is ok to cancel my 'Unlimited US & Canada" (month to month) subscription since the Premium subscription is supposed to come with the unlimited calling.
    09:11:34 Russel D.
I understand that you wish to clarify some information regarding subscriptions. I'd be pleased to assist you with this.
    09:12:24 schisamo
    great
    09:13:13 Russel D.
However, in response to your issue, please note that Skype Premium does not enable you to call phones and mobiles for it exlusively covers group video calls only in Skype.
    09:13:34 schisamo
Actually that is wrong..according to the pricing page it includes unlimited calling.
    09:13:37 schisamo
I will find you a link
    09:14:04 Russel D.
So it is in your best interest not to cancel your Unlimited US & Canada subscription should you still require to make outgoing voice calls on your account.
    09:14:24 Russel D.
    Please provide us that.
    09:15:19 Russel D.
Because I believe that if you will look further on the link that you will provide us, it includes there the Unlimited US & Canada subscription which is what we offered in package with Skype Premium in order to cover outgoin voice calls.
    09:16:49 Russel D.
This is actually a common confusion that we receive from members everyday.
    09:18:00 schisamo
    www *dot* skype *dot* com/intl/en-us/prices/premium-table-5
    09:18:04 Russel D.
It’s been awhile since I’ve heard from you, just checking to see if we’re still connected?
    09:18:07 schisamo
    I bought a 12 month subscription
    09:18:07 Russel D.
    Okay.
    09:19:29 Russel D.
And listed at the left portion of the page in the link is US and Canada subscription if you might notice.
    09:20:04 schisamo
I see it...says it is included
    09:20:14 schisamo
ie at the top of the page "See what features you get with Skype Premium"
    09:20:33 schisamo
first item listed and checked under '12 month subscription' is "Unlimited* calls to US & Canada"
    09:20:54 Russel D.
Those information provided in the left part of the page are actually the stuffs in package when you purchase the subscription on the said link.
    09:21:07 schisamo
    which I did
    09:21:32 schisamo
I was charged $53.94 just as that package says
    09:21:49 Russel D.
    That's right.
    09:22:19 schisamo
so the original question I asked was can I cancel my month to month "Unlimited* calls to US & Canada" package
    09:22:26 schisamo
since this included a year's worth of the same
    09:22:27 Russel D.
Since you do have the US and Canada subscription existing on your account even before you purchase it.
    09:23:09 schisamo
so what I am saying here is I don't want to be double billed..if that is the case I will cancel everything
    09:23:54 Russel D.
Which purchase do you want to be cancelled?
    09:24:27 Russel D.
Please provide us with the order number associated with that so we can check if its possible to cancel it on our end.
    09:24:45 Russel D.
You can view the order number by following the Show Purchase History link in your account: secure *dot* skype *dot* com/account/purchase/history/orders
    09:24:47 schisamo
*sigh* so here is the situation. I had "Unlimited* calls to US & Canada" on a month to month subscription.
    09:25:03 Russel D.
    That's right.
    09:25:04 schisamo
yesterday I signed up for Skype Premium which should include "Unlimited* calls to US & Canada"
    09:25:17 schisamo
so why would like to cancel the month to month "Unlimited* calls to US & Canada"
    09:25:48 schisamo
which I did yesterday...but now I am trying to figure out if I still will get a years worth *since* I signed up for Skype Premium which includes "Unlimited* calls to US & Canada".
    09:26:19 schisamo
my last month to month order # was XXXXXXXXX
    09:26:33 schisamo
my skype premium order # was XXXXXXXXX
    09:27:29 Russel D.
But the package that you purchased would only give you a US and Canada subscription if you purchased the Skype Premium subscription without an active US and Canada subscription.
    09:27:43 schisamo
    well that is CRAZY..
    09:27:52 schisamo
so I will cancel and re sign up if that is the case
    09:28:07 schisamo
or you guys could just 'do the right thing' and add it to my account
    09:28:18 schisamo
since I signed up thinking that was included
    09:28:32 Russel D.
Our apologies for the inconvenience but that is what the link shows.
    09:28:40 schisamo
screwing a customer over a semantic is a way to lose customers
    09:29:06 schisamo
in no way does that link show YOU CAN NOT HAVE AN ACTIVE UNLIMITED SUBSCRIPTION
    09:29:59 Russel D.
Upon further check on the subscription under the order number(XXXXXXXXX) you have provided us with, we were able to confirm that its purchase took place just today. What we can do to rectify the matter is to cancel the supposed transfer of your payment for it since the purchase is currently under payment processing state.
    09:30:59 Russel D.
However, we are seeing on your account records that your Unlimited US and Canada subscription is currently cancelled on your account.
    09:31:13 schisamo
    yes...which I did yesterday also
    09:31:19 schisamo
since why would I need both??
    09:31:40 Russel D.
Rest assured that it will not recur on your account as a result of the cancellation that you did.
    09:32:08 schisamo
so now can I sign up for Skype Premium (AGAIN) to get the free unlimited calling with the year rate?
    09:32:13 schisamo
    after you cancel it?
    09:32:18 schisamo
    how long should I wait?
    09:34:00 Russel D.
I'm afraid you might need to wait for the end of your US nad Canada term before you should purchase the Skype Premium subscription in the link that includes US and Canada.
    09:34:20 Russel D.
In order to calrify your issue, please note – if you cancel your subscription, it will run to the end of your contract. For example, if you have a 3 month subscription, your subscription will run until the end of the 3 month period.
    09:35:31 schisamo
please just refund me for XXXXXXXXX (skype premium). this whole experience makes me not want to give you guys any more money.
    09:36:24 schisamo
and in NO way does www *dot* skype *dot* com/intl/en-us/prices/premium-table-5 say you will not get the years worth of "Unlimited* calls to US & Canada" if you already have an unlimited subscription.
    09:36:38 schisamo
I would very much like you to show me where on that page that is spelled out.
    09:38:25 Russel D.
Please note that we haven't receive any payment for your Skype Premium purchase yet as its purchase is currently, under payment processing state.
    09:38:40 Russel D.
SO what we can do is to cancel the supposed transfer of your payment for it.
    09:38:45 Russel D.
Do you want us to proceed with that?
    09:38:47 schisamo
    Y
    09:39:40 Russel D.
Unfortunately, the said offer woks that way.
    09:39:50 schisamo
    WHERE DOES IT SAY SO
    09:39:50 Russel D.
What do you mean when you said 'Y'?
    09:39:54 schisamo
    YES
    09:40:00 schisamo
    CANCEL MY PAYMENT
    09:41:05 Russel D.
It is being told from the link you provided.
    09:41:10 Russel D.
    Thank you for confirming.
    09:41:36 schisamo
what text on that link says you will not get the years worth of "Unlimited* calls to US & Canada" if you already have an unlimited subscription.
    09:41:55 Russel D.
We would now confirm that the recent purchase of Skype Premium subscription was already cancelled on your account(order number 509945710) as requested. Rest assured that no charges has been made and will be taken out on your card in connection to the cancelled purchase.

The offer itself as it is being offered to customers who do not have an existing subscription on their account that allows us to make outgoing calls. Since you do have one(US and Canada subscription), you were not provided with one.
    09:44:25 Russel D.
    * allows them to make outgoing calls
    09:44:50 schisamo
but I was offered that offer...THUS WHY I SIGNED UP!!
    09:45:10 schisamo
If I go to the link now and am signed in I am STILL OFFERED THAT OFFER
    09:46:10 Russel D.
Yes you will. You actually acquired part of the offer which is the discount right?
    09:46:40 Russel D.
That is upon your purchase before it got cancelled by us per your request.

    09:46:54 schisamo
that was there BEFORE WE CANCELED
    09:47:52 schisamo
and you just told me if I try and sign up for skype premium before the end of the month (when my month to month unlimted subscriptoin expires) I will not get the offer
    09:47:55 Russel D.
Our apologies for the inconvenience but we are not provided with sufficient rights to view images while on chat.
    09:48:09 schisamo
regardless it will show exactly what I just said
    09:48:22 schisamo
ie...I am being offered the unlimited with skype premium
    09:48:27 schisamo
even though I will not get the offer
    09:48:42 schisamo
ie...I will get put in the same situation I am dealing with here
    09:48:42 Russel D.
    No.
    09:50:00 Russel D.
We said you can't acquire additional US and Canada subscription should you try to purchase the same Skype premium offer now since your current US and Canada subscription is still active on your account until the end of its term.
    09:50:33 schisamo
then why am I being offered that?
    09:51:20 Russel D.
You need to wait for the end of your US and Canada subscription's term before you could get its free subscription.
    09:51:40 schisamo
but it will start up? automatically?
    09:52:10 Russel D.
Because you can still acquire part of the offer which is the 50% discount which is what you apparently got during your purchase.
    09:52:50 Russel D.
But not the US and Canada subscription since you already have such subscription active on your account.
    09:54:20 schisamo
well this is what I don't understand. I opened another browser (which has no one logged in) and I go to the offer page www *dot* skype *dot* com/intl/en-us/prices/premium-table-5 that un signed in account is offered the same 50% off price ($53.94) and is offered unlimited US/Canada calling.
    09:54:38 schisamo
so it appears that offer is not specific to someone that has unlimited calling already
    09:54:57 schisamo
it just appears people that have it are screwed in some way out of getting there years worth of unlimited calling.
    09:55:40 Russel D.
Our apologies for the confusion but based from what you just went through, I'm afraid that the subscription is just offered that way.
    09:55:51 schisamo
    what way?
    09:56:37 schisamo
what you guys are doing is WRONG. spell out that if you already have an active unlimited subscription (even month to month) YOU WILL NOT GET UNLIMITED CALLING FOR THE SAME PRICE.
    09:56:51 Russel D.
That you only get the US and Canada if you do not have any US and Canada subscription active on your account.
    09:57:10 schisamo
I understand what you are saying...but that is not spelled out in the offer
    09:57:17 schisamo
    or stated ANYWHERE
    09:58:00 Russel D.
Our sincere apologies. Rest assured that we will be passing the necessary endorsement of this issue to the appropriate department so corrective actions will be implemented.
    09:58:30 Russel D.
However, do you happen to have other concerns that might require my assistance for today?
    09:58:53 schisamo
no..except I wasted 35 min of my life on this.
    09:59:16 Russel D.
Again, our sincere apologies for the confusion.

  • US Number from India- Help?

Can I have a US skype number from India which I can activate and use from different parts of India?
Can my skype number be accessed from different parts of India at the same time? If so, how will an incoming call be attended?

    Hi Jitesh,
From your post I gather you are in India and you need some sort of phone for your parents that they can use to call US.
First regarding subscription, it doesn't matter where you are located. If you have a subscription that includes calls to US then you can use it to call US landlines and mobiles. Subscriptions are available here: http://www.skype.com/go/subscriptions
Majority of Skype Certified phones can be used with subscriptions and phones are available here: http://shop.skype.com/
If in your location you don't have a phones available then you can check with your local retailer if they have like for example Dualphone RTX 3088: http://dualphone.net/DUALphone_3088_for_Skype-789.aspx
This phone can be connected to router and used with subscriptions.
As I'm not from India myself it's hard for me to tell what exactly is available regarding hardware, but when you do purchase a phone please make sure it is Skype certified and you can ask from the retailer if it works with subscriptions.
    Andre

Now after going through the site, I understand that online numbers has you recieve calls wherever you are, but does it always have you make calls to the US or what? And are those calls covered with the subscripition or is it a seperate bill?

You are correct, the ability to receive calls from telephones (the Online Number) is separate from the ability to make calls to telephones (the subscriptions).  Having one does not give you the other. When logged into Skype from almost anywhere, you would be able to receive calls made to your Online Number, and - with the subscription, or by simply adding Skype Credit to your account - have the ability to call telephones from Skype.
For calling to the States, there is an Unlimited USA & Canada subscription at US$ 2.99/month, or with a 15% discount if purchased for a year at a time (just over US$ 30/year).  This subscription, along with a US online number, effectively gives you a US "telephone" that you can use from Egypt or anywhere else.  Please keep in mind Skype's fair-use policy regarding subscriptions. Click on "Subscriptions" below for more details.
    Good luck!

  • Regarding monthly subscription for UAE

    Hi All,
I am planning to use Skype to call UAE from India.
Hence I found the monthly subcription for 800 minutes for 79.9$ ( +VAT).
But according to my usage minimum required subcription is 1000 minutes and later I may need 1200 to 1500 minutes per month.
Please anyone answer, does Skype offer customized monthly subscription as mentioned above.
looking forward your support and reply to below my email id.

Suppose I buy a Monthly subscription for three months of 120 minutes each and run out of minutes in the middle of the first month. If I want to buy an extra monthly subscription in the middle of the first month what should I do?
Hello and welcome to the Skype Community!
In that case you should purchase another Subscription but with a different amount of monthly minutes. You can't have two identical Subscriptions running at the same time on the same account.

I recommend that you always run the latest Skype version: Windows & Mac
