Hi Sam,
In the LISTCUBE screen, check mark for DB aggregation. This will aggregate the multiple entries that you are seeing.

Cost of using subquery vs using same table twice in query

In a current project, I was asked by my supervisor what is the cost difference between the following two methods. First method is using a subquery to get the name field from table2. A subquery is needed because it requires the field sa_id from table1. The second method is using table2 again under a different alias to obtain table2.name. The two table2 are not self-joined. The outcome of these two queries are the same.
Using subquery:
select a.sa_id R1, b.other_field R2,
(select b.name from b
where b.b_id = a.sa_id) R3
from table1 a, table2 b
where ...Using same table twice (table2 under 2 different aliases)

Many thanks.In theory, if you use the scalar "subquery" approach, the correlated subquery needs to be executed for each row of your result set. Depending on how efficient the subquery is performed this could require significant resources, since you have that recursive SQL that needs to be executed for each row.
The "join" approach needs to read the table only twice, may be it can even use an indexed access path. So in theory the join approach should perform better in most cases.
Now the Oracle runtime engine (since Version 8) introduces a feature called "filter optimization" that also applies to correlated scalar subqueries. Basically it works like an in-memory hash table that caches the (hashed) input values to the (deterministic) correlated subquery and the corresponding output values. The number of entries of the hash table is fixed until 9i (256 entries) whereas in 10g it is controlled by a internal parameter that determines the size of the table (and therefore can hold different number of entries depending on the size of each element).
If the input value of the next row corresponds to the input value of the previous row then this optimization returns immediately the corresponding output value without any further action. If the input value can be found in the hash table, the corresponding output value is returned, otherwise execute the query and keep the result combination and eventually attempt to store this new combination in the hash table, but if a hash collision occurs the combination will be discarded.
So the effectiveness of this clever optimization largely depends on three different factors: The order of the input values (because as long as the input value doesn't change the corresponding output value will be returned immediately without any further action required), the number of distinct input values and finally the rate of hash collisions that might occur when attempting to store a combination in the in-memory hash table.
In summary unfortunately you can't really tell how good this optimization is going to work at runtime and therefore can't be properly reflected in the execution plan.
You need to test both approaches individually because in the optimal case the optimization of the scalar subquery will be superior to the join approach, but it could also well be the other around, depending on the factors mentioned.

When the first ipad came out i set it up and created an itunes account, since then she got an iphone and an ipad and everything was good. I had an android but wanted to try out the iphone. When i set it up ut jumpled all of our contacts, apps, and everythin. it was a mess.
Since, i purchased and ipad 2 and an iphone and to keep our stuff from combing i used a different computer and created an new apple ID for myself so our info wouldnt combine, I was wondering if i did the right thing or if i should have went about it a different way. I was going to see if there was a way when she purchased a song i could get it. I dont want to pay for the same song twice and only want to share songs. If i cant do this can i copy her library and paste it into my itunes??

Welcome to the world of digital media. Your can't really transfer it. I don't know what the rules are about transferring to your spouse but I do know that in some cases when you die, your heirs cannot inherit your digital media. This is why there is still an advantage to buying the CD since the usage rights belong to whomever holds the physical media.
A possible workaround is to burn the songs to a music CD with yout account (tracks only without song titles) and then having your wife upload it as a regular music CD onto her account. It's been a while since i've done this so I'm not sure if it would work now.
Please note that I'm not advocating copyright and/or TOS violations. I'm only suggesting ways to copy music for your own personal use which has traditonally been permitted. I only did this because I wanted to convert iTunes songs to mp3 files so I could burn them onto a data CD for use in my car. It would make sense that since married couples are a joint entity, this would be personal use.
Also, I'm not a lawyer so don't take this as legal advice.

I keep getting calls from non existing area codes and phone numbers. They are never the same number twice. How do I stop this?

About a week ago I started getting phone calls on my cell phone from numbers that do not exist, including the area codes. I can not report these to the Do Not Call list because the area code is non existent. I'm getting these calls all the time now and never from the same number twice so there's no point in blocking them. If I answer I may or may not get a person who has an accent from India so heavy that I can't understand what they are saying. This is getting to the point where I just want to cry I'm so frustrated. Anyone else having this issue or does anyone know how to stop it?

Can I use the same SSI twice in same page?

Hey all,
i'm having a problem whereby several SSI's are not showing on my page.
I'm wondering if it's because the instances that are not showing are the ones called the second time round.
Before i start posting code etc, i just wondered if it was actually not possible to call the same SSi more than one time on a page.
I can't seem to find documentation stating this anywhere.

Edit 2: I guess i didn't test properly initially. It seems it is NOT possible to use the same SSI twice on a page... What a bummer!!!

t's certainly possible depending on the PHP command which you use as the include directive.

How to avoid same entry in numbers

I am using a numbers file to organize my client. However, I entered one client more than one time. How can I avoid making the same entry / alert for entering the same entry?

Assuming your list is in column B, then in a cell in another column, enter this formula:
=IFERROR(VLOOKUP(INDEX(B,COUNTA(B)+ROW(B)-1),OFFSET(INDIRECT(ADDRESS(ROW(B),COLU MN(B))),0,0,COUNTA(B)-1),1,FALSE),"No Duplicate")
This formula alerts you if the last item in the list was already entered. Note, it only checks the last item in the list, so if the list has 10 entries and 2 and 3 are duplicates, this formula will not alert you.
I also added a Conditional Format to make it more apparent when the value of the formula cell changed.

Address book - multiple listings of same entry

I feel like there's a really simple explaination for this and will probably feel silly when I get the answer - BUT I just bought a MacBook Pro and am running Leopard (10.6.7). I now have muptiple listings of the same entry. Some of them repeat like 6-7 times. What can I do to make that go away?

Open "Settings" on the iPhone>Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Bookmarks>Accounts>your MobileMe account and turn off Contacts, when prompted delete the data, and wait two minutes, then turn Contacts back on. When asked to merge the data, make that choice, and wait patiently. You should no longer have duplicates. If you are able, I recommend using a Wi-Fi connection to make the change.

Sender File Adapter picking the same file twice

We are facing a weird issue with File Sender Adapter
We are using PI File Adapter ( NFS ) to read files for a NFS folder and
processing those in PI.Normally it works fine. But for a scenario we
are noticing it sometimes process the same file twice before archiving,
thus duplicating the financial postings.
What we have is :
File Sender Adapter - NFS, Polling interval 60 secs, and Processign
mdoe Archive. File name includes Wildcards - JE_Upload*.txt
what we are noticing is that :
when it picks up a file, it immediately polls again to check for
another file, and sometimes the file is not yet archived so it picks up
and reprocess the same file.
If you see the message below, both belong to the same file, and it
picked up the same file again in 12 secs after processing it the first
time

Please check the script which creates file in source NFS Folders. There is possibility that script is making change in file when PI is picking up the file.
When PI picks the file first time it creates one message ID in system. After that if script is making any change in file without file name change (This need not necessary data change), for PI it becomes new file and new message gets generated in PI for same file.
This error normally comes when File adapter is not able to archive file succesfully. For eg. file with same name alredy exists in Archive folder.
File adapter generates the new message id whenfile get modified(eg.change in its length or data change) even though
the file name is same and when file get change ,XI file adapter thinks that its new file and hence generate the new message id for same file.
If file has same name and notmodified then XI adapter will not generate new message id and will keep on throw the error till you remove that file with same name from the
archieve directory.

How to print same layout twice changing only one field dynamically

I have a report which prints three pages invoice in Dollar currency, I want that same report to print those three pages again but the currency will be changed dynamically based on certain criteria. It means I three pages for Dollar and next three pages for other currency.
Or if you can help me printing the same report twice(do not want # of copies to be set to 2).

Use same table twice in subform

i´ve created a form like this
subformA -> positioned
--subformB -> flowed
table
header
body row
Everything is working fine and a I´m able to see the expected data.
But when my table includes more than 10 rows it destroys the layout of my page.
My idea:
Create a second subform with same table data and place it right beside it. And using FormCalc to show data from row 11 to end.
But only the first subform is filled. There is no data in second subform (FormCalc code is not implemented).
It seems, that I can´t use same tabele twice.
Any ideas?

Have both the subforms as flowed and page breaked, it should work.
As per as having 2 tables techically i believe its not possible.reason behind.
When you do data binding for 1st table and say multiple rows, at runtime data is iterated and displayed in the 1st table.
when it reaches to the 2nd table the pointer on the table data source is already eof i.e., last record so it will not display it again.
to acheive this on form load of the 2nd table you need to initialize and iterate through the data source again.
I have never tested this scenario but read it in some adobe fourms.
Check it and let me know, if its still not working i can design a sample form with this scenario for you.
