  • SAP BW Business Content and R/3 Tables

    Good morning
I wonder if you can help me.
    I am at a BW-MM implementation.
From where I can get a list of Business Content extractors and tables which is supplied by R / 3.
    For example:
    0EC_PCA_1 -> GLPCT
I need this information to implement the MM module in BW, but if you have or can help with additional information from other modules I will be grateful.
I await your help and thank you very much!
    Javier.-

    Hi,
    Check the BI content.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/37/5fb13cd0500255e10000000a114084/content.htm
Go to the original page from there by clicking the arrow buttons.
There you can see your functional areas.
For example, to find 0EC_PCA_1, you will go to Financials--> Profit Center Accounting > Datasources> PCA transaction data.
For MM, go to Supply Chain Mgmt --> Supply Chain Performance Management --> Procurement
Here you can find what tables the extractor is based on.

  • Documentation for Business Content Rapid Marts Reports for SAP R/3

    Hi,
As we have technical documentation for SAP BI business content BI reports on SAP HELP Portal,
is there any link where we can find the technical documentation for business content reports supported by SAP BOBJ Rapid marts for R/3 solution like for HR module.
I would like to know what kind of reports are available as a part of rapid mart business content and what are the measures ( key figures ), dimensions ( characteristics ) supported by each of these standard business content rapid mart reports.
I have referred business guide and user guide for HR rapid marts but they just give an overview of what analysis can be done. But there is no technical documentation for each of the possible rapid mart reports.
    Thanks,

    Regards,
    Anitha

    Hi anitha
    TRy this
To transfer and activate a DataSource delivered by SAP with Business Content, in transaction SBIW in the source system choose Business Information Warehouse à Business Content DataSources or Activating SAP Business Content àTransfer Business Content DataSources.
The following figure displays the DataSources in an overview according to the application component.
           2.      Select the nodes in the application component hierarchy for which you want to transfer DataSources into the active version. Do so by positioning the cursor on the node and choosing Highlight Subtree.
The DataSources lying under the subtree and other subtrees are selected.
           3.      To check for differences between the active and delivery versions of the DataSources, choose Select Delta.
DataSources for which differences were found in the check (for example, due to changes to the extractor) are highlighted in yellow.
           4.      To analyze the differences between active and delivered versions of a particular DataSource, select the DataSource and choose Version Comparison. The application log contains further information regarding the version comparison.
           5.      To transfer a DataSource from the delivery version into the active version, select it in the overview tree using the button Highlight Subtree and choose Transfer DataSources.
If an error occurs, the error log appears.
Regardless of whether data has been successfully transferred into the active version, you can call the log by choosing Display Log.
           6.      To provide the active version of the DataSource in the connected BI systems and to enable data extraction and transfer, replicate the DataSource(s) with a metadata upload to the BI system.
and in RSA1 in businuess content search ur required cube and select all the req fielsds in the next colums and select before and after is a must..in the selection field..
    this will solve ur issue..

  • Business Content activation and change - BI upgrade

    Hi Colleagues,
I am working on a project on which one.
    1. Developpers have activated SAP BI business content.
and for minor changes, they will directly modify the business contents infoprovider.
    As example.
    1. They will activate 0IC_C03 Material Stcks/Movements (as of 3.0B)
    2. They will change cube structure :
       - Add a material plant dimension with 2 characteristic inside.
        - Add additional field in a existing dimension : 0company_code inside Location Dimension.
I always have worked on project on which one we made a copy of the business content infoprovider before to change it.
    QUESTIONS :
I would like to know what is the impact of changing directly the infoprovider of the business content ?
Is there an issue with BI upgrade ?
Is there any SAP BI recommendation regarding system development to minimize impact on BI upgrade ?
    Cheers,

It's always better to use BC Objects as template if you want to do any customizations to the standard objects.
For any reason if someone again installed bc for the same object ,assume person doesn't check match option ,so the std object will overwrite the existing active version and as a result the customizations for the object will be lost
As far as I know there won't be any impact , I do not have any doc but you can search in forum

The building block CRM Lead Analysis describes the all the required activities to analyze the Marketing Lead Analysis data from SAP CRM in SAP Business Information Warehouse.
The analysis is carried out with the following queries of the InfoCube 0MKTG_C01 CRM - Lead Management (SAP BW Business Content).
The Lead Management InfoCube contains all the characteristics and data used for the administration of leads. This InfoCube enables you to execute the following standard queries available in SAP BW:
    1.     Channel Analysis: This query is used to determine the best channels by which business partners are contacted in the context of a marketing campaign. Following each marketing campaign, the lead manager can compare the success of a given channel to those of others.
    2.     Efficiency Reporting: This query is used to analyze the efficiency with which leads are qualified. By navigating to the sales organizations and the responsible employees for the leads, it is possible to assess how efficiently lead teams are working and to identify areas for improvement.
    3.     Historical Evaluation: Use to help analyze and compare leads over different intervals (comparison of different quarters or years for example) to see if general characteristics in the processing of leads can be identified for these periods.
    4.     Lost Leads: Provides an overview of the number of lost leads in a particular period and the reasons (implemented as a navigation characteristic) for the loss of the leads. This query is used to analyze the main reasons why leads might be lost, with a view to developing new strategies for overcoming these weaknesses.
    5.     Channel Mgmt.: Top-n Lost Leads (Current Year): In a Channel Manager Portal, this query provides an analysis of the leads lost by a Channel Manager over the past 12 months. Channel Managers can also view the leads lost by their Channel Partners. In a Partner Portal, this query shows the top-n unsuccessful leads distributed by a Channel Manager to a Channel Partner. Partner Manager can see the lost leads of the Partner Employees over the year. Partner Employee can view his lost leads over the year.........
Before starting activities in this building block, you need to perform or check the following steps:
    1.     From the BW Connectivity building block the following activities have to be completed:
    a.     Local Settings è SAP CRM: all activities have to be completed.
    b.     Local Settings è SAP BW: all activities have to be completed.

  • Business content activation in fresh implementation

    Dear gurus
Kindly excuse me if its an old cliched topic...I am new to implementation and i have been assigned to an end-to-end implementation project..my early work would be to know if standard business content available in BI will suffice our requirement or not....kindly guide as to how proceed from very beginning..what should i do first and yes since i will have to activate the entire flow in BI...how to go about it....i dont know what all ia should ask...kindly help with your suggestions..

    Hi:
Please refer to the presentation by Jie Deng, "Presenting SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence Content"
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/a017bf61-d61c-2a10-958e-ab18f4e92fbd?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true
Observe that is mandatory to install objects from the bottom up, so it is safer to activate small groups of objects, this way it is also easier to determine the causes of errors and make the appropriate corrections. Basically you need to install the objects in the sequence shown on slide 14.
    - Extractor
    - InfoObject
    - InfoSource
    - Transfer Rules (or Transformation Rules for Dataflows available in version 7.0).
    - Update Rules (or Transformation Rules for Dataflows available in version 7.0).
    - ODS
    - Update Rules (or Transformation Rules for Dataflows available in version 7.0).
    - InfoCubes
    - MultiProviders
    - etc, etc..
Also pay special attention to the Section 3 "Activation of SAP BW Business Content" (slides 85 - 107).
There's another presentation by Jie Deng that provides related information.
"Session ID: IM204 Guidelines for Implementing SAP NetWeaver BI Business Content in a Customer System"

  • How to deliver/bundle/package your own business content

    Hi all,
I´m resubmitting this question that hadn´t response more than 1 year ago:
    Hi there,
We have developed some custom BI content for an external system (incl. custom extractors, ODS objects, cubes and queries). Is it possible to package this solution somehow so that it is bundled with SAP BI Content as part of it? What are the steps. Is there any other solutions of packing this product?
    thanks
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi,
I do not see how your custom developments can be packaged with SAP's Business Content.
However you should be able to take the .CO and .DAT files of your transports and import them in a new system chain and utilize it.  I have done this on the R/3 side but not on the BW side.  This would need to be experimented with on the BW side to check what needs to be tweaked to make it work.

  • Business content no present

    Hi all,
We implement  BW3.5 server at client ,every thing is working fine but in RSA1 sap standard business content not shown so is there any system setting for activating sap business content in t-code RSA1
so that we use those standard objects in our applications.
    Thanks and regards
    Ankit modi.

    Hi ankit,
you have to install the sap business content separately in biw server through SAINT T-Code.
i think you have to install BI_CONT 353 package for bw 3.5.
    check with your basis people

  • Business Content Change

    Hi ,
Can we change the objects delivered by sap Via Business Content . for example if an attribute needs to be added to an infoObject delivered by business content then can we change the business content infoobject after installing it to ur specific needs . Will it give any error in future while transporting, upgradation etc....
    Regards,
    Vijay.

    Hi Vijay,
You can make the changes in the infoobjects provided by SAP but you need to map the fields with the help of Exit so that you can populate the data into them.
Also, the idea should be copying the standard one to your Z object.
    Hope it helps!!!!

  • Hi........What is business content..

    Hi all,
what is business content ? when this comes into picture in real time....
    Thanks & Regards,
    Bhaskar Rao Javvaji

    Hi..
Business Content is a pre-configured set of role and task-relevant information models based on consistent metadata in the SAP Business Information Warehouse.
Business Content provides selected roles within a company with the information they need to carry out their tasks.
    Business Content can
be used in particular industries without being modified
be modified, meaning you can work with it to any degree of detail
serve as a template or an example for customer-defined Business Content
This information model includes integral Roles, Workbooks, Queries, InfoSources, InfoCubes, ODS objects, key figures, characteristics, Update rules, and extractors for SAP R/3, mySAP.com Business Applications, and for other selection applications.
    To summarize,
Business Content enables a quick and cost-effective implementation.
Provides a model that can be used as a guideline during implementation using experience gained from other implementations
SAP delivers Business Content in the SAP Delivery Version (D version).
Changes are saved in the M version.
Active Business Content is saved in the A version.
In the Administrator Workbench, one can collect and transfer the Business Content delivered by SAP. In this way, all additional necessary objects are taken into account automatically, as is the sequence for the activation.
SAP delivers the Business Content objects in a new D Version. The customer can compare the new Business Content with his/her active customer version, and either adopt the new version or merge it with his/her version.
Adopt: The customer version is deleted and replaced by the new Business Content version.
Merge: The “total” is made from both objects and saved as a new customer version.
The Match indicator is set as default in order to prevent the customer version being unintentionally overwritten.
If the Content of the SAP delivery version is to be matched to the active version, you have to set the Install indicator separately.
The active version is overwritten with the delivery version if the match indicator is not set and the install indicator is set. In other words, the delivery version is copied to the active version.
If the Install indicator is not set, the object is not copied or matched. In this case, the Match indicator has no effect.
