The SSCR (SAP Software Change Registration) is a procedure, valid from Release 3.0A, which registers all manual changes to SAP sources and SAP Dictionary objects. SAP matchcodes and tuning measures such as the setup of database indices and buffers are excluded from the registration. Hi Gurus,
1) Is there any difference between the two or are they used interchangeably?
2) They are 6 digit numbers. Any significance attached to any of the numbers ? I mean Notes Beginning with a "1" belong to performance category or Notes number beginning with a "2" refer to another category... something of that sort?

1. there is no difference between a SAP note and an OSS note: they're the same as far as I know.
2. there is no numbering convention as far as I know either....

Sap notes and general site usability

Why can't i find sap note 1219819? It was referred to me by a regular poster on the forums, http://forums.sdn.sap.com/profile.jspa?userID=3852876. if it's legitimate, then why does it not show up in searches, neither on the site or Google? Why is there no page for listing, searching and viewing sap notes? Why is it, in general, so hard to find the info I need on this site? I loathe having to use this site.
I recommend improving the search feature and make the site easy for new users to zero in on what they might be looking for.

The care required to be taken is to go through the notes carefully & analyse implication.
If SAP Note is to be applied, It is normally done by Abaper, incase of Code Correction, alternatively, if customizing changes recommended, it requires to be customized.
Incase of Package application, this is normally done by basis person.
After SAP note / package applied, we require to test the scenarios in test server, before applying the same to Production Server.

How to delete developer's SAP UserID and his SSCR key on SMP?
Dear Experts,
Background:
I want to delete developer's SAP UserID and SSCR key in QAS and SMP.
Because as I known, developer's SAP UserID(registered SSCR key) is belonging to the SAP License measurement.
I want to rid of the useless developer's SAP userID and the SSCR key registered on SMP.

One of our developers whom registered SSCR key left, I want to delete
his SAP UserID and his SSCR key.Can you pls tell me how to implement?
What might have happened(expecially the downside) in the corresponding
SAP Client if I delete the developer's SAP UserID and SSCR key? Will
it cause our system screw up?
I've searched the answer on SDN. Someone told me I should carry out the
follow steps below:
(1)Delete the Developer's SSCR key on Service Market Place(SMP).
(2)Cancel all the Jobs defined by the Developer in DEV.
(3)SU01, Replace the value 'Developer' with Blank at the 'LicenceData'
lable.
(4)Delte corresponding item of the Developer in 'DEVACCESS' table.
(5)Lock/Delete the Developer.
Is that right?

Dear Customer,
When the SSCR Developer/Object keys are transfered to the system, the
keys are stored in the following tables:
o DEVACCESS : Developer keys
o ADIRACCESS: Object keys
But we do not have any report programs to delete the entries from these
tables. If the customer wants to delete the entries, he has to write a
local program to delete the table entries.
SAP does not recommend ever cleaning out these developer keys, as long
as the user ID is Locked / Deleted, that is the main thing.
please Cancel all the Jobs defined by the Developer in DEV.
So my recommendation to you is to first lock the user id of the user.
Then Assign him a new userid which is not identical to the first one andthen subsequently delete the old userid.
If you have an absolute need to delete a developer key without deleting
a user then the easiest way to do this is probably to
write a report with the instruction :
delete from DEVACCESS where UNAME = ....
Please note :
There is no recording, who did what in the table, that is why SAP strong-ly does not recommend this, and customers will have to take responsibil-ity for this action.

I want to know if I can delete the SSCR key directly via a particular TX? If I can, what is it? (I just want to know. For safety, I think I won't delete the SSCR key directly remained in 'DEVACCESS'.)

Securing payload in message monitoring using SAP note 1370334

Hi Experts,
I am working to implement SAP note 1370334 to PI server.For that i have created :
1. an xml file having actions and roles according to the SAP note and zipped in .EAR file and given to BASIS team to deploy that .EAR file.
2.BASIS deployed that .EAR file successfully.
To test whether the SAP note has been uploaded successfully or not, we asked BASIS to create two 'test user ids' with minimum authorisation.
When I am testing through RWB to see payload without assigning any roles to the created test user, it is showing 'No authorisation'.
But when we assigned role to one test user, both the test user are able to see the payload.But according to the SAP note, payload should be visible to one user only not to the other.
And according to roles assinged in Action.xml file, display authorisation is only from sender service 'A' to receiver service 'B' but message content are visible for all services.
Canm anyone help me why is it happening or where I am going wrong or suggest me if I am testing in wrong way??

if in scheduled cud be errors with queues ...delete ur queues with tcodes : smq1 and smq2...

SAP note 1941092 hasn't been updated in a while

SAP note 1941092 hasn't been updated in a while (2+ months), the last version covered is 1.2.4. At least changes for 1.25, 1.4.0 and 1.4.4 are missing. Would somebody from the UI Theme Designer team please update the SAP note and keep it up to date? Thank you.

Is the SAP note (old, 2001 year) valid?

I am trying to create source system in BW to connect from BW-system to SAP source system. I can connect to SAP system but when I click on use (RFC connection) I get message "Error during insert in port table". I found SAP note with number 110849 but it is was released in 2001 year. I work with Netweaver 7.0. Can I use this note to correct error?

Olga,
There is another alternative solution here which does not require transaction SNOTE usage - go to SAP Service Marketplace, open the required SAP Note and check section "Affected Releases", where you will be able to find out information on software components' release versions which are affected. Just find out if the one which you use is in the list - if not, then the SAP Note is not applicable for your system. The second step in case the first one is passed and you found your release version in the list of affected releases is to verify Support Package level: ensure that Support Package which delivers the correction for this software component hasn't yet been implemented in your system (if it or higher Support Packages are implemented, then you should already have the correction applied in your system).

Some times some where Customer need more functionality that the original one, or some one wants extra fields and some customers want some others, so SAP has given this notes to solve the problems, it is nothing but Patches to SAP.

Hi,
Go to Tr Code.SNote
1. Check the OSS no whether already been downloaded or not,
2. if not download it
3. it will be in the New tree.
4. FInd your note and double click on the same. then Pdf will open
5. Read it properly check whether it can be implemented it or cn not be implemented
6. If can be implemented then implemetnte the note and create a request for the same.
7. once implemented then go to consistant portion then change the status of the Notes for this you need to go to the SAP Note and change the note processing status to completed.

Note : Soms times the SAP tells to download the files from the Service.sap.com and for some notes u need to create a field or new objects. For this u need to get the Access key from ur team and change the same.
Lastly go inside the report and check whether the changes have been done or not.
sometimes changes may not be there. this will lead to problem

often I am hearing that SAP notes have to be implemented for some programmes. Why we implement SAP notes, and how we add sap notes to the programmes.
If I want to add a note to Purchase Order process, under which transaction can I add, does it change any standard behavior of the system?
What is Development, how does it differs with standard sap process?
