I have Satellite A200 laptop and i have a doubt and is if there are diferences between Vista 32 and 64 Bios. Or is the same Bios?
My question is because in the last days i installed Home Premiun 64bit but my Bios is for Vista 32bit but every works fine on laptop.
Should i change the Bios for 64bits or should i let 32 bits Bios?

I think there is a difference between both BIOS versions; 32bit and 64bit but please dont ask me what the difference exactly is. ;)
I didnt find any details regarding the differences.
I assume the BIOS 64bit supports some advantages of the 64bit CPUs and the 64bit software but this is only a assumption
However, I think you dont need to switch to the 64bit BIOS version if your notebook run stable and trouble free using the 32bit version.

As Gerd responded, you have a choice of APIs to communicate over GPIB when using LabVIEW - the built-in GPIB (NI-488.2) functions or the VISA functions. VISA is the recommended API for all instrument drivers. But if you have an existing instrument driver for your instrument, just use it, regardless of which API it uses internally.
Which VISA you want really depends on which GPIB controller you have. If the USB-GPIB controller is from NI, then you should have NI-488 and NI-VISA installed. If it is from Agilent, then you should install Agilent I/O Libraries (both SICL and VISA).
LabVIEW will communicate with either version of VISA because they both implement a standard API. That's the whole point. And it doesn't matter from a software per
spective whether the controller and instrument are from the same company.
Also, the fact that the GPIB controller is connected via USB rather than PCI, for example, is actually moot. LabVIEW doesn't know and doesn't care because the program isn't making USB calls, it's making GPIB or VISA calls. It's the lower-level GPIB driver that handles the necessary translations.
I hope this explains things sufficiently.

Satellite A200-17S PSAE0E: What is a differences between BIOS 1.5 & 1.8

I just bought satellite A200-17S (PSAE0E) and BIOS in my machine is v1.50.
On this page I noticed latest BIOS is 1.80 so I am wondering what changes there is between these two BIOS?
At the moment I am using Linux (ubuntu 7.10) as my OS and having couple of ACPI related problems so I could use the information about those changes.

In my knowledge you will not find anyone here from Toshiba.
If you need any details you could ask someone from helpline or the official authorized service provider in your country. But as already mentioned by Chad the BIOS changes are not published on the European pages. Only Toshiba USA provide such infos.

My laptop L670-1JN bios version is 1.9, on download there is bios "2.10-WIN".
What's the differences between the versions?

If everything is ok with your notebook I dont see a reason to update the BIOS.
But on Toshiba website I found an article about keyboard issues which could be solved by new BIOS version:

Are you sure about that? Visual C++ has runtime libraries that need to be deployed in order for an executable to work as described on this MS site:

So I'd be surprised that somehow they manage to statically link all the runtime dependencies for a DLL if they don't/can't do it for an executable.
Even if you include the runtime support in the distribution, wouldn't they deploy as separate DLL's? Are you saying that there's static library equivalents for all of VCPP runtime support?

Why is there difference between Adobe Viewer and Dev ipa?

I think I am just going insane
I have check my folio in the adobe app, which is fine
But when i test it in the dev ipa, I have some problem like
I am blocked in some page: impossible to scroll down or left/right to another page or stack (I have the prob in some page wich have video, or only static image with text)
Some mpg animation doesnt play well, for ie they play first when you arrive in the page, but when you scrolldown to the page below and go back to the previous, le video has return to its first image
It is SO annoying to have such differences between the 2 apps
How can we fix that?

Yes my dev app is also v18 enable
So when I take out the PDF option when importing my folio, I dont have anymore the prob of swiping to the other pages
But I still have the prob with my video (that goes back to the first image as soon as went to the page below - same stack- and play a bit with scrollable page button etc) then when i go up to the first page of my stack it went back and stop to the first image of the video.... same thing if it is a small video like a graph on the second page.... but this doesnt come from the Pinch and zoom option because I just re import my folio as AUTOMATIQUE and I still have this prob a video.... gonna try something else

Satellite A200-1CR - Can't find my BIOS

I have a Satellite A200-1CR (Part Number: PSAE0E-02G00YAR) and I cant find my BIOS. I need it to do a crysis recovery disk as I interbted the BIOS update. Any help for finding the file plz?
And any comments on the crysis recovery thing is most welcome :D

If you use the forum search you can find some threads about crisyis recovery but dont forget thats no official option to recover the BIOS. Everything happens on your own risk and in worst case you could destroy the whole ROM module.
You should contact an authorized service provider in your country. The guys can reflash the ROM module because they have DOS based BIOS update and other professional tools.

Satellite A200: Some devices stoped working after BIOS update

I recently updated my BIOS to V2.60 on my Sat A200
but ever since i apdated the BIOS some of the hardware components stoped working.
So i decided to use the product recovery CD but it wont work anymore.
Each time during its loading stage the system crashes and i get a blue screen mentioning a file called CLFS.SYS as the root of the problem
Is there a solution for my problem?

From my experience there are different BIOS versions for different operating system.
The Vista and XP needs different BIOS!
But I wonder why the Toshiba recovery disk does not function anymore? ?:|
Usually you should be able to recover the system no matte what BIOS has been installed.
Did you try to format the HDD firstly using another disk for example like Win XP?

I think you should format the HDD again and then should try to recover the notebook using the Recovery disk

Difference between BIOS 14CN67WW & 14CN94WW for S10e

What´s the difference between this two BIOS updates for the S10e?
And why is it the same BIOS (14CN94WW) for the two models: S10 and S10e? Before this version every bios update was an independent version for this two models.
I see that they have different summary changes but they have the same info:
If you update to the BIOS version 14CN47ww or later, you are not able to get back to the older BIOS versions.
LCD LID open resumes system only when system entering suspend(sleep) mode in the LID close state.
When Password on boot enabled in BIOS Setup, system would ask for password input on every booting, including Cold boot(power on), Warm boot(reboot) and resuming from Hibernate. The password prompt would always request for Supervisor password, however either Supervisor password or user password accepted.
When an HDD password is set, a system would ask for a password input on every booting, inlcuding Cold boot, Warm boot and resume from Hibernate.

I used 14cn67ww for the longest time because I liked how quiet the fan was during normal use. However I began to be frustrated with how sluggish the machine felt, so I tried upgrading to the most recent version, i.e. 14cn94ww. My netbook is noticeably faster, while the fan is now running continuously. From these observations, it would seem that 14cn67ww restricted the motherboard in such a way to prevent overheating the processor, thus requiring less fan use to appease complaining forum members. I think I will stick with 14cn94ww despite the loud fan noise because I prefer to use the machine to the best of it's capabilities.
The above might be specific to my case, but I can say I have been following these bios updates since the beginning of the year, so I've been able to notice the little changes that occur with each iteration. I don't have a bios editor to examine exactly what is different between the two versions, though, so you'll have to try them out yourself to see if my empirical judgments apply to your case.

So I tried to update the Bios to the version that supports XP.
When I tried to install it, Vista crashed and now the laptop won't even turn on.
When I keep the power button pressed, the fan wheezes but nothing else happens.
I think the BIOS is gone or corrupted.
What do I do?

What to say buddy. Looks like something went wrong during the BIOS update procedure Possibly the BIOS was not written correctly and the ROM module must be flashed again using a special procedure and tool.
In such case you can do nothing you have to contact the ASP in your country for a fix!!!
Dont waste a time and ask an authorized service technician for a help.

I have 2 programs compiled in Delphi not working on same PC's , same user in 6.4. It seems it hangs on date data entry.

well I made all the old stuff work.
As expected the error was linked to sendvkey but you can force for this object an additionnal line

and the ascendant compatibility is restored. I don't know why this change was made...
Otherwise the main issue was that the eventsink was not connected and my mind had trouble to find out the link was not in hard coding (an assignment of pointer or procedure parameter) but within a component.
The old script need a rewrite due to the additionnal components related to session and shortcut.
Will you update the documentation stating that slow link are not supported or better make it rework?
It is simply just much faster.

A user is running a web application on Solaris Release 2.6 with UTF-8. After the server was updated to Solaris 8, the application is experiencing problems with webpages containing Korean and Chinese text. The encoding is UTF-8. Has anyone experienced this problem? I checked the packages installed on Solaris 8 and they are consistent with what was installed on Solaris 2.6. Could this possibly be a patch-level problem? Thank you.

/pub/patches directory contains a lot of patches for solaris.

Waveform or plugin bug? and the difference between 8bit & 32bit psds

I have recently come across some issues which I do not understand, not sure if it's lack of knowledge or bugs.
Waveform monitor appears clipped after adjustment and 2 psd files with identical layers/luminance values - (one 8 bit and one 32 bit) come into prem
with different gammas.

Just realised that my psd issue may very well lie with PS and my lack of knowledge... apologies for that.
I started from scratch... recreating files again.
I think I need to learn about the 32 bit colour picker and how the "stops" and "intensity" relate.
It appears that to get the same visual results the above mentioned slider needs to be at a negative value but I am not sure what.
Apologies again... off to do some more learning.
