Re: Satellite C660-1D7 - Installing latest Intel display driver

Hi
I have a Toshiba Satellite C660-1D7 running Windows 7 64bit Home Premium with Intel Core i3 [email protected] GHz CPU and 4GB RAM. I use my laptop a lot for graphics etc. with Adobe CS5 and Corel Paint shop Photo Pro x3 etc.
After only 2 months I got an HDD alert saying it would fail soon. So under warranty 2 weeks ago Toshiba arranged for an authorized dealer to collect and replace the HDD which they did. Ever since then I cannot use my graphics software. Now, I remember when I first got my laptop I had the same problem and it was to do with my graphics/video card and OpenGL. Toshiba site and my own laptop kept saying that all drivers were up to date. But when I went on Intel site I found that Intel HD Graphics was not up to date. As soon as I updated I was able to use all my graphics programs.
The drivers installed without any problems at all. This time, although I gave a recovery disk to the repair dealer, when my graphics software was not working. I went to Intel site and once again there are more up to date drivers available. However, when I try to install them it says that I now have modified drivers from the laptop manufacturer and I must go to the Toshiba site. Either way, the drivers I need are not on the Toshiba site and I have tried every way possible I think to install the ones I want.
Please help!
The programs do open when I click e.g. Paint shop pro x3 but when I go to save a photo or edit it hangs, and 'not responds' and I must use Task Manager to end process. I need the same drivers that I had on my laptop before the HDD was replaced but cant get them from Intel as Toshiba seems to have opted out of updates.
All help welcome! Many thanks in advance. John Scott

Hi John,
The problem is that only Toshiba drivers are pretested on your system. Installing other drivers happens on your own risk because they are not tested by Toshiba.
Anyway, just download the drivers on Intel website. If setup.exe file shows you an error message about not compatible drivers install them manually (I know this message from my notebook). Therefore navigate to device manager > right click on graphic card > update driver. Then choose the advanced installation where you can choose the driver and directory yourself. Now you are able to install this driver :)

• Trouble installing latest Intel Display Driver for Windows 7

Anyone else experiencing issues trying to install the latest Intel Display Driver for Windows 7, version 8.15.10.2057, dated 2 Mar 2010?
This is the second updated driver release that refuses to install due the following error while running setup.exe: This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software.
I've verified compatibility and have disabled Switchable graphics and selected Integrated Graphics in the BIOS
System: T400, 2764-CTO running Windows 7 (64-bit)

bwpotter,
Appears you selected the right .inf file for Win7/64. Notwithstanding the error flags, are you sure the driver did not install?
For WinXP/32, the equivalent file name is kit22686.inf. In the case of WinXP (likely similar for Vista and Win7), Lenovo's file-set will unpack to C:\drivers\WIN\DISPLAY2. The .inf file that appears in the Device Manager install-routine lives one level down, in C:\drivers\WIN\DISPLAY2\Graphics. Only one .inf file resides in this directory.
When forcing installation of the driver under WinXP, error messages appear that are similar (but not necessarily identical) to those you encountered. Still, after a sequence of five or six such error messages, the driver does load and can be verified after a reboot. (The new driver has performed to spec for the past several days--no issues whatsoever.)
The final splash screen in the series reports "Completing the Hardware Update Wizard." (This message does not, however, necessarily denote a successful installation.)
In the case of WinXP, the errors appear to be generated by the installer, igxpun.exe (v1.2.30.0). Note that the flaky display driver installation should generate an error log. Search for an error log file using the string "*appcompat.txt" (no quotes) and see what it says.
In the end, the problems with this package can be attributed to simple sloppiness (vendors commonly forget to eat their dog food) and should be quickly fixed if the community barks loudly.
Hope this helps.

• Intel display driver install failure

Anyone else get the "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software" error when trying to install the intel display drivers? It's been happening to me for at least the current rev and one rev back of the drivers. I've tried many things, including booting to just integrated and just discrete graphics, etc. Nothing works.
i know some other folks have had issues in the past, but a lenovo moderator asked me to start a new thread on the topic to see if other folks were currently having the same issue.

At least some 2764 models have switchable graphics. It might be that you should install the driver for switchable graphics and not the driver for notebooks that merely have the Intel GMA 4500MHD. The Windows 7 x64 driver for switchable graphics is available at:

• Intel display driver has stopped working properly, distributed by Lenovo

Toshiba Satellite L355-S7915 with Windows Vista Home Basic SP2 32-bit: Keep getting "Intel display driver has stopped working properly and has recovered" when turn on computer or log on with new user. Driver version is 7.15.10.1829. This is more of an annoyance, which I can enter through and continue, but I would like to get the messages to stop. Any ideas? Thanks.

Me too, only I am using a desktop through e machines with an Intel 82945G Express Chiplet Family. And my pc just crashes and it is getting very annoying! for the longest time Vista couldn't provide a solution and today is sent my to Lenovo. I may be out of touch with the tech world but to my understanding I don't have anything "Lenovo" unless thats the new fancy name for Intel. But I can't seem to find a solution for this problem and am sick of it! Any advice? thanks and happy holidays!

• Installing the Intel ME Driver

When I load the MSI Control Center it displays a pop-up telling me to install the Intel ME driver for overclocking.
3 QUESTIONS:
1. Where is the Intel ME driver?
2. If I get it as a download from Intel, how do I know which ME to download?
3 If the ME driver is on the MSI Drivers and Utilities Disk, then which file is it and how do I install it?
I know this is basic, but I'm just a simple man.
P.S.
OCZ has been having problems with their firmware software for the Agility 3. I got rid of mucho problems by removing the OCZ Agility 3 SSD and replacing it with a Crucial RealSSD 300.
Not as fast, but it does not give me BSODs either.

if you talk about the Intel Management Engine , they are on your driver DVD or on the MSI web site

• Vista SP1 clash with Intel display driver (lgdkmd32.sys)

The ThinkPad X61s and various versions of the T series come with a version of the Intel display driver (lgdkmd32.sys) that is incompatible with Vista SP1. If we have that driver, Windows Update won't give us SP1. And no newer driver for the X61s seems available. Any news on when we can expect a fix for this problem?
Message Edited by O_Govinda on 03-26-2008 03:13 AM

Yes, same problem with my T61 because the version of display driver (lgdkmd32.sys) is 7.14.10.1329, which falls in the following range of Intel Display drivers that Microsoft would not offer Vista SP1 to systems with such device drivers.
Display drivers
Intel Display
• For x86-based computers: Igdkmd32.sys – versions between and including driver 7.14.10.1322 and 7.14.10.1403
• For x64-based computers: Igdkmd64.sys – versions between and including driver 7.14.10.1322 and 7.14.10.1403

Hi,
I have tried from both Intel and from Toshiba and cannot install the Intel driver.
Without the Intel driver I cannot install the Nvidia driver, I have tried downloading the Intel utility installer from Toshiba as well as the Intel HD 4000 driver.
I do not want to do a system recovery. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

It came with Windows home 7 64 bit pre installed. I upgraded to to Pro for work.
It was working good until last week where someothing made the intel driver start showing it had a fault at this point i uninstalled the driver hoping it would reinstall and i could go on my merry way.
After this point i tried downloading the driver packs from both toshiba support and intell but both dont work.
Currently the intell display adapter is listed as video controller (VGA compatible).

• Satellite C660 - Re-installed WLAN driver not working

Hi
I cleared a lot of unused programs from a Toshiba Satellite C660-1JH, and accidently removed the Realtek WLAN Driver.
The laptop obviously now has no internal wireless connection. When I realised I managed to find the driver online, successfully downloaded and installed it. I restarted the computer in order for the changes to take affect but nothing happened.
I removed the driver and all associated files and then took it from another site to check that there wasn't anything wrong with the contents of the file. I got exactly the same result twice more. I've been checking the uninstall program list each time to make sure the driver does exist.
My question is does anyone know if there's something else I need to do after installing the WLAN driver to enable it to operate, or if there's another decent internal wireless adaptor I can download from the web that works with this model.
Apologies for my vague I.T knowledge, hope somebody can help!
Thanks

On this virtual way it is not easy to say what is wrong there.
Fact is that your notebook has Realtek RTL8188CE WLAN card inside.
Dont search the driver Googling around. Right driver you can download from Toshiba WLAN portal http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/
Install it, check status in device manager, try to enable WLAN card using FN key combination and send some feedback.
Driver offered on WLAN portal is the same that you got with original preinstalled recovery image (WIN7 64BIT HOME PREMIUM).

How to install the video driver in my pc? Not includes .exe archive.

The driver is Display Driver Trident Windows XP 4.12.01.2307
+Message was edited: link removed - too long+

MasterG is right. Download display driver and save all files in some folder created on the desktop.
In device manager open properties for graphic card and click on driver tab. There you will find option for driver update or driver installation.
In next step just browse into folder with saved download files and continue with next. Driver will be installed properly.

In the Toshiba drivers area for win7 iIcan only find drivers suitable for Intel graphics, no AMD drivers.
Can anyone help me here.
Thank you.

Hi
Take a look into the drivers download area of Satellite L850 PSKDLE series.
There you can find the ATI / AMD display driver and these both series use the same graphic chip therefore this driver should work for PSKG8E series too.
