Hi,
my Satellite L40 PSL48E came with a Vista recovery partition.
As I despise Vista I bought a replacement drive and installed a new hard-drive and installed XP pro.
I retained the original drive in case i ever had to claim under warranty.
I now find that due to work commitments I have to occsionally use the despised Vista rubbish and wonder if it is possible to create a Installation disk from the partition on the original drive so tha ti can create a dual boot system on my new drive.
I am very reluctant to BUY a new Vista CD since I already have a fully legal copy on a drive which I am not using and I will only use it VERY rarely for this one work commitment.

My next problem is this. I have XP on the main partition and WinRE on the hidden partition. How the heck do I get at the hidden partition. I don't have any boot disks ( none were provided with the machine when I bought it new. Pressing F8 only takes me the the normal XP options Safe boot boot as normal etc.
I've tried f10 and f12 and f11 tas I've seen these suggested on a few newsgroup posts. Anyone got any ideas please.
Toshiba Recovery Disc creatoe seems to be the key from what i read but if this is not present how do i get to the hidden partition and run it?
HELP please. How i hate the fact that manufacturers don't provide a proper CD or DVD anymore it is a right PITA.

You have two possibilities:
1. Open App Store > Purchases and download Mountain Lion. When the download has finished, open Lion Diskmaker to make a bootable Mountain Lion USB drive > http://blog.gete.net/lion-diskmaker-us/
2. Download Recovery Disk Assistant from the Support website to create a Recovery HD on your USB drive.
The difference between them is that the first contains OS X Mountain Lion, so you won't have to download Mountain Lion from the App Store when you are going to install Mountain Lion

Creating an installation DVD from CS4 download files

Greetings! Has anyone managed to create a functional installation DVD(s) from the downloaded files of CS4 Design Premium. After extracting the files, which folders have to go on which DVD? I have both WIN and MAC and would like to install these from DVD.

The only way to have a DVD installable version of any of the suites is to go through Adobe Support and get the DVDs through them." As stated by me, this is simply not true. Read below. Yes, storing them on a DVD at least frees up the HDD space. Here is the answer. These instructions are for the master suite. 1) In your DVD-DL burner software set up a new project. 2) Call the disc ADBEMST4 3) Using the free 7-Zip program (google for it) extract the contents of the ADBESTAMCS4_LS1.7z file you have downloaded. 4) You need to edit the setup.xml file which is in the \Adobe CS4\Payloads folder Make it like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><Setup version="2.0.138.0"> <Driver folder="AdobeMasterCollection4-mul-trial"/> <Media> <Volume> <Name>ADBEMST4</Name> <Payloads> <Payload folder="Acrobatcom-fr_FR"></Payload> ... snip (see note) .... <Payload folder="AdobeMasterCollection4-mul-trial"></Payload> </Payloads> </Volume> </Media> </Setup> NOTE: I have removed all but one of the payload lines because there are too many to post here. But on every payload line you are changing from: <Payload folder="Acrobatcom-fr_FR">Adobe CS4</Payload> to <Payload folder="Acrobatcom-fr_FR"></Payload> (as an example taken from the first payload line) Do that to every line. You are simply removing the "Adobe CS4" text. Or download the edited xml from here: (only valid for 10 downloads as I am not a rapidshare user) http://rapidshare.com/files/160301059/Setup.xml.html 5) Back to your DVD project. In the root of the disc you are creating, place all the files and folders in the \Adobe CS4 folder you ended up with after the extraction. Don't copy the \Adobe CS4 folder itself, just everything in it. So you'll end up with something looking like this: http://img293.imageshack.us/img293/8144/step5rh4.png (image not from me, just one I found whilst researching this) If you want the extra files to be included (as found in STAMCS4_Cont_LS1.exe) then extract these with 7-Zip also. Copy the resulting files to your disc project. If you don't need the additional languages, then don't add them to the project. You may already be going over the limit for DVD-DL... so check on that. 5) In your project put the new/edited setup.xml into the \Payloads folder. Remove the setup.xml already dragged into the project first, or overwrite it when you drag in the new one. 6) Burn 7) Install 8) Enjoy If you have any questions let me know. Satellite L40 (PSL48E) - Doesn't reboot after BIOS update

Hi,
My problem is that I update the BIOS and after that the machine does not restart. ( BIOS corrupt ? )
After the BIOS update (Satellite L40 PSL48E) the machine reboot and with the F2 key I open the BIOS setup.
I check the BIOS version ( 5.50 ) and exit the BIOS setup.The machine must be reboot now.....
No Way, the machine does not restart . No screen only the powerled lights-up.
Is there anything I can to fix it on my own like a BIOS reset ?

This is strange because after the BIOS update you could go into the BIOS.
However, try to remove the battery and AC/DC adaptor. Wait one hour and then put the battery in and connect the AC/DC adaptor. Try it again.
If it doesnt work there is something wrong with the BIOS or hardware and should be checked by a notebook technician.

You need to have the disc in order to create disk image of snow leopard installer disc. What did your machine ship with? If something later than SL, then why? If earlier, then you can buy the SL installer disc and make the disk image.

Can I create a shared photostream from my pc?

I know I can upload photos from my PC to My Photostream, but I want to create a Shared Photostream (album) with photos from my PC. It seems I cannot create an individual Shared Photostream album on my PC, and upload pictures to it. I can only create a Shared Photostream from my iPhone, and upload photos to it from my iPhone. Am I doing something wrong?
The problem with My Photostream is the photos there will get bumped in time, with pictures taken by my iPhone. I want to keep the photos in a Shared Photostream (album) so as to play them on my Apple TV.
What can I do?

Thanks so much. I clicked the New photo stream link at the top and was able to make an album of photos to display on my Apple TV, just as desired. Only problem now is that the Random Theme selection in Apple TV does not rotate amongst the various themes, it just sticks on one, unlike the Random Theme selection in Ken Burns or Classic selection choices at the bottom of the list which does rotate. If you know anything about this, please let me know. Meanwhile thanks again to set me straight on the first tip!

Hello, I brought in about 50 min of Digital video into iMovie, I separated (split) the audio from the video, I unlocked the audio, I deleted the video, and now I want to just create an audio CD from the audio that is left.
Can I do this? and if yes how? If I can not, how can I create an Audio CD from on my G5 off a tape on my digital camcorder?

Hi Shada this can happen if you are including additional installers to your installer for example DAQmx. When you are doing this the installer has to include other files like MAX (Measuremente and Automation Explorer). Probably when you installed Vision Builder it updated MAX, so when your installer is trying to Include MAX, its asking for the source where it was installed in your computer in this case Vision Builder.
Here you can cache the information so its not asked again, or you can download a newer version fo DAQmx, so it will update MAX and change de dependecy.

Go to VOV7, select your item category. In this maintain K for Billing Relevance
Now go to VF01, give the delivery number and do not press Enter. Instead click on Selection list on the next screen, select the items you want to bill and click copy and continue if necessary

Using the solution supplied by Leonia, and cited by Keith, you can do the same thing (flopping the Curve profiles) in LightRoom. So, it makes sense. Though I didn't know know it worked for Color Negatives.
