Re - save in elements 12

I would very much appreciate some help in saving edited photographs. As it appears to have saved them but when it finishes only the original photograph remains. When i re-edit the same photograph and save it tells me it is edit 2 but that is not saved either. Where they go is a mystery as i cannot find them? Please help as have little hair left to pull out.

There is a known bug that affects some, but not all users. I'm guessing that you have used a previous version of PSE and PSE12 converted the older catalog. It seems to be in this scenario when, for some people, saving the image does not add the edited image to the Organizer and a version set.
Apparently if you kill the Elements AutoAnalyzer.exe process this cures the problem. I can't confirm this as I've not experienced the problem myself. Another workaround is to ensure that you are saving edited files to Watched folders. While this won't stack them, it does at least trigger the Organizer to recognise them.

does your process have doXslTransform with multiple source documents? if yes then that patch should work. if not, please log an sr and please provide your current test case that can be used to reproduce the problem.

Error when I save in Elements 6

I'm creating a slideshow in Elements 6. When I go to save my project i get the following error: "An error occurred while reading files or writing files to disc. The disc may be full or there may be a problem with the source media."
Any ideas on fixing this?

Make sure your output resolution is not too large if you are burning to disc rather than saving on the hard drive.
VCDs use MPEG-1 compression and have a resolution of 352 x 240 pixels.

Save in Elements (10) Organizer

Each time I save a processed foto into my destination folder I have to untick the above box. I cannot find any Preferences which allow me do that permanently. Can anyone help?

That setting should be sticky, so quit the editor, then restart it while holding ctrl+shift+alt/command+shift+option. Keep the keys down till you see a window asking if you want to delete the settings file. You do.

Export/save for elements

Hi
created a psd with layers using PS6
took the file into a print shop who are using elements.
When they opened the file the y told me I had flattened it. They got quite "stroppy" implying I didn't know what I was doing....
I came back and opened the file in PS6 and the layers are there available for editing.
I'm not familiar with elements is this a known issue or does elements only import psd as a flat file???

Firstly, why to use Vector instead ArrayList? The only difference is that Vector is synchronized, and I cannot see the need for it.
Secondly, what do you mean by "saving the last coordinates in a separate variable"? If you stored each click's coordinate in the list, simply take its last item (don't forget to check for empty list):
list.get(list.size()-1);

How to save the data that a user has written in a table (front panel) by using a "press button"?

This allows me to modify, add new data, etc in the "Table" when wanted and to SAVE the latest information when wanted.

Save number to file

I need save a 3D array to file.What i do is to change every three number to string and save.But i does't work.Can someone suggest ideal solution.

One simple solution (and probably the shortest) is to convert 3D array to string using "Array to Spreadsheet String" and save it to file. Find attached example. Anyway, you have other options available too (save every element or every 1D or 2D array included in your 3D separately ... just pay attention to read them in the same manner).

Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 changes DateTime EXIF parameter after editing and saving photo

Hello, I have a little problem with Elements 12. After I edit a photo and save it, Elements changes the DateTime parameter to the time the photo was saved. Is there any way not to change this parameter? Just to save photo with stock EXIF-metadata?

I am in Windows 7. When I use the Windows Explorer to have a look at the properties of picture file, I can use the 'Right click' and choose 'properties'. In the 'details' tab, look at the various dates, and you can see that the 'date taken' is recorded in the Explorer. That means that other software can share that information. What is misleading is that by default, that 'date taken' is not shown by default in the Explorer. Just like keywords tags, you have to add that column to the display. It's not clearer in the Organizer where you are being shown the various dates in the catalog as well as dates read from the picture files...

Edited Elements file doesn't render

New LR4 user. After editing in Elements the edited file doesn't render in LR although I can see it as it was before editiing? Help please!

When you say it doesn't render in LR, do you mean you press Save in Elements and the photo never appears in LR?
Which version of Elements? And is LR4 updated to 4.2?

How to back up from Photoshop Elements 8 to Revel

My photos were backed up from PSE 8 to the Elements backup on photoshop.com. Now they have been automatically moved to Revel. How do I back up more photos from PSE 8 to Revel? When I try to do a backup from PSE 8 it connects to the old photoshop.com backup.

It sounds like you want to get more of your files onto Revel but are not sure how to since you can not save from Elements to Photoshop.com anymore and since Elements 8 does not communicate with Revel. What you can do now it upload your photos to Revel directly from your Mac or PC. If you have a Mac, you can download the Revel app and upload from your Mac. If you have a PC, you can upload via a web browser at adoberevel.com. If you upgrade to Elements 11, you will have the ability to upload to Revel from Elements if you choose (it is not quite the same as the sync, but allows upload to or download from Revel) See the link below for more details. Photoshop elements and aperture

How do I edit using PS elements - I went to preferences, chose PS elements as the external editor, but the image stays in aperture and I can not seem to get the image in a place to edit using PSE. I have tried double clicking on the picture but that does not get to PSE.

I use Aperture with Photoshop Elements 6.
My example:
I have an original image say 20081212-33.jpg or 20081212-33.nef, in Aperture. I use referenced files.
Aperture will then create 20081212-33.tiff, and PE launches and I edit the image.
The problem comes with the save. Elements acts as if it needs a new filename. The one it suggests is usually 20081212.tif.
Right there is already a problem: PE uses a different extension from Aperture.
If I go ahead and save the file PE wants, it never shows up in Aperture.
If I click on the copy Aperture made, that works, but only on the first edit.
If I later decide to edit 20081212-33.tiff, Aperture doesn't create a new file for PE to use. I either overwrite the existing file (which can sometimes seem to screw things up in Aperture if I edit metadata), or I have to manually import an image I save somewhere like the desktop.
I can understand Aperture not creating a new file the second time. You already have an edited file so it assumes you want to edit again.
However, it would be nice if there were some way to make PE use the same extension.
Also, I frequently tell Aperture to make PSD files instead. Then when I'm done I want to add a final version to the stack in Aperture, and there is no convenient way to do that.
Any ideas appreciated.
It's not unworkable, it's just a little clunky.

Elements 11: saved version treated as a new file

When I edit a picture and save the result (using either "save" or "save as" and making sure there are ticks in "Save in Elements Organiser" and "Save in version set with original"), the edited copy is often (perhaps 3 times out of 4) treated not as a new version but as a new file. When I close the edit, I am told that there is a new file in a watched folder. When I accept this, I am offered any tags which were applied to the original (which helps a bit) but then have to find my way to the edited file and the original, and manually make them into a set. This is a real pain- it adds a couple of minutes to each edit. I am using Photoshop 11 on a Windows 8 laptop with a 1000GB hard disc (with about 100GB free). My catalog is quite big- about 70,000 items. I am a long-time Elements user (since the original?). This problem is fairly new (ie months not years)- certainly since I moved to V11. This is independent of the format of the original (in my case, RAW or jpeg) or the edited file (in my case usually jpeg).

I'm now on Elements 12, and the same problem is back only worse. When I edit a pictures and save as version set, 9 times out of 10 the edited picture is treated as a new addition to the catalogue. So I try the method that worked with Elements 11- switch off "Watch folders". When I do this the saved picture simply disappears- it isn't saved as version set, and it doesn't pop up as a new picture. After trying this with ten pictures, I retrieve the updated pictures by using file/Get photos and videos/from files and folders, pointing at the relevant folder. They are there, so I retrieve them and individually add them to a set with each original. But this is a long-winded way of doing what Elements should be doing for me automatically. I try closing Elements and re-starting, but that doesn't help.
The curious thing is that when I switch watched folders back on, Elelements just very occasionally does the right thing- it saves the updated picture as a version set. About one time in ten, but at random.
This does look to me like a performance-related problem.
I'm running Elements on a Windows 8.1 system, with hardware Intel Core i5 and 8GB memory, and a one terabyte hard disc (it's a Lenova ideapad laptop). The picture folder hierarchy is big- currently 658GB. I do make efforts to prune it, and plainly if I was able to devote a solid week to doing this could bring the size down significantly. My main camera has a 24MP sensor and I often use RAW, which doesn't help (though I usually delete the RAW after my initial editing session on each group of pictures). Would it help to do a major pruning exercise? People when I raised this before thought not.
Any ideas? This problem is a real pain- nine times out of ten when I do an edit, I have to bring the edited picture in as new, find it amongst the group with the relevant tag, and make it into a version set with the original..

Hierarchy Graphics Copy Copy WBS Element

Hi All,
We are haiving one issue as user is trying to use Copy function in Hierarchy Graphics to create new WBS Element but unfortunaltely user is not able to save WBS Element. After clicking save function - Validation Message pop-ups cpme then directly Exit Project pop-up appears. So frankly speaking dont know why this is happening. I have checked with user and user is following proper procedure to do this thing.
Do you have any clue in this matter?
