I would like to share the following Scenario with you all:
I want to extract leading ledger and non-leading ledger data into a BI cube. Sure, the answer is yes.
Would it be possible to segregate both leading and non-leading ledger data within a BI cube? Or the only possibility is to load leading and non-leading ledger data into two different cubes?
Please advise.

Hi RJ,
Depending on what datasource you are using, it will provide a field that indicates the ledger. The new general ledger datasources provide the field RLDNR for this purpose, and you'll need to make sure to carry through this value to the BW DSO or Cube that you are using - [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_bic706sp01/helpdata/en/45/757140723d990ae10000000a155106/frameset.htm]

Opening balance upload in Leading and NOn leading ledger.

Hi All.
We are in the phase of opening balance upload. We are using Leading and Non leading ledger concept. Our Leading ledger starts on 29th of March 2009 as per UK reporting and Non leading ledger starts from 1st April to 31st of March as per India reporting.
We were going to upload the opening balance as on 22nd of Nov as per UK reporting. But here We stuck because as per India reporting our 2008 fiscal year has been closed on 31st of march 2009 also financial books has been closed. But due to UK reporting we are carrying 29th to 3st march 2009 P&L balances in Leading ledger which has been considered in the India Balance sheet ( has come in Profit and Loss Account).
Here I am not able to understand that how I should upload the 29th to 31st march P&L balances in leading ledger because if I will upload these through F-02 or FB50 BDC than these will effect the India balances also. If I am using the FB01l or FB50L to upload the Non leading ledger balances, than system is not allowed me to upload the balances in open item management accounts. System prompt me following message.
Postings to G/L accounts with open item management are not permitted
Message no. FAGL_POST_SERVICE012
Diagnosis
You use G/L account 213702 in company code 7041 with open item management. However, postings are not permitted to G/L accounts in individual ledgers with open item management.
Procedure
If you have not yet made any postings to this account and if the account is to be used for closing processes in non-leading ledgers, deactivate the Open Item Management indicator in the company code data for the G/L account.
Can any one tell me that how I can Achieve the same with correct P&L affect in Leading Ledger and correct effect in Non leading ledger Profit and loss account.

Retrieving spatial and non spatial data in one query

Hello. I am having slight difficulties using JDBC to retrieve both spatial and non spatial data in the same query. The following is code from a sample program of mine that retrives spatial data from spatial tables.

This retrieves the sptial data fine, however when I attempt to retreive the non-spatial data I keep getting a "ClassCastException" error. I understand it is something to do with "STRUCT dbObject = (STRUCT)rs.getObject(i);" line. Can anyone tell me how to retrieve both spatial and non-spatial data in the one query using JDBC. Different segment in same document for leading and non-leading ledger

Hi,
Is it possible to have different segments derived in the same document for Leading and Non-leading ledgers.
Is there an exit where we can substitute the segment originally derived so as to update only in one particular ledger

SAP and Non-SAP data to Xcelsius

Hi Experts,
I m new to Xcelsius and i a m currently working on Xcelsius project, i need help on approach to bring both SAP and Non-SAP data to Xcelsius. Here the scenario goes on....
Total 6 plants are there, out of 6, 4 plants are on SAP and other 2 plants are on Non-SAP (Excel)
The requirement is to develop a dashboard to see all the plants details (both SAP and Non-SAP)
The approach i suggested for SAP: ECC --> BW --> InfoProvider --> Query --> QaaWS --> Xcelsius
For non-sap, data is available in excel, so we can bring that data directly to xcelsius, but problem is how to make it dynamaic because data in excel changes daily.
So my doubt is, if i develop a universe on excel files, then how to combine both SAP and Non-SAP universes. Is Data Federator is required for this or is there any approach to bring both SAP and Non-SAP data to Xcelsius.
Can any one help me on this

Another approach which i have used in the past is to have data in XML format, placed on a web server. When my data changes daily, i just export my data from excel or whatever source into the XML format..
Use the XML data connector to bring into xcelsius.

Double Posting using Leading and Non-leading ledger...

I am at a client that is using the leading (0L) and non leading (PL) ledger set up. Also, we have configure an additional document document (ZF) for posting to the (PL) ledger. The following configuration settings have been made:
1     US GAAP (group accounting) (PLN)                    1     0L
2     Depreciation on tax limited value (cars)                    0
3     PAS (Polish Accounting Standards) (PLN)                    2     PL
10     CIT TAX (Polish taxation accounting) (PLN)                    3     PL
30     Consolidated balance sheet in local currency PLN       0
31     Consolidated balance sheet in group currency USD     0
32     Book depreciation in group currency (USD)                    0
Can someone explain why I am seeing a duplicate posting on the non leading ledger. Using the settlement transaction from Project Systems or ABZON from the Asset Module I get the expected (AA) document type posting on the leading ledger but also on the non-leading ledger. When I run ASKB, the document ZF is also posted on the non-leading ledger.

Hi,
You can check BKPF (document header) and there is a field "ledger group" for which the document was posted onto. If there's no value in the field, it means the document was posted to all ledgers (leading and non leading).

JAX-RPC and non-primitive data types

I am using JWSDP v1.3 and i have a problem using non-primitive data types as return types for my operations.
Consider the helloservice example of the JWSDP1.3 tutorial. Now suppose that instead of having the simple operation sayHello() that returns a String, we execute a query on a database, get some ResultSetMetaData and we want these Metadata to be the return type of our operation. I.e. have the operation
public ResultSetMetaData sayHello()
instead of the
public String sayHello()
of the tutorial.
When trying to build the service i get the following error which is normal, because ResultSetMetaData is not a supported JAX-RPC type.

Asset report leading and non leading ledger wise

We have implemented New Gl and also leading non leading. Leading fiscal year jan to dec and non leading fiscal year April to march. So how to take the asset report for the period of leading and nonleading.

You can execute the asset reports based on depreciation area which will represent a particular ledger.

Leading and non leading ledger balances do not match in FAGLB03

Hi,
Balance for period 5 as per FAGLB03 for leading ledger (0L) is say $104.
The same balance as per nonleading ledger is $176.
I checked in FAGLF03 and no difference exists there.
The issue is only with period 5, the other periods display the balance right.
There is some balance from period 6 that adds up in the credit line items balance and thats the reason for difference.
Please suggest.

In other words from my previous posts:
1. Earlier this year (around February) the non leading ledger's (Fiscal Year Variant - K4) was changed in accordance to leading ledger's FYV - YY which is April to March (year dependent).
2. So, the periods in FAGLB03 are divided based on calender months for non leading ledger (X1).
3. As the periods in leading ledger(0L) are year dependent the open and close dates are different than the calender months.
4. That's how calender month(or old K4's fiscal period of X1) August, has 2 0L's fiscal periods i.e. 5 and 6 (5th period closing date was 27.08.2011) and the 6th period start date is 28.08.2011
5. For X1 - non leading ledger when I drill down on the balance of 8th calender month i.e. August , it shows some balance from period 6, where it should not. It should only give us the results of period 5.
6. The results were right for periods 2, 3 and 4 in accordance to 0L's year dependent results. Wondering what went wrong in period 5.
As this is a month end closing issue, would appreciate any clues fast.

Numeric and Non Numeric Data

Hi,
I have to check the data in Varchar2 field idtr and if it is numeric some actions are to be done on the data and if it is numeric some other different action is to be done.
So I used some logic for finding whether the data is numeric or non numeric which I got it from the net.
Now my problem is all decimal numbers are to be treated as numeric but this logic is treating decimals as non numeric and I am not able to proceed further.
Can some one help me out in this issue.

My personal view is that there is no universal way to determine if a string, in all circumstances, can be translated into a number. One has to have knowledge of the source data domain ... only you know if, in your particular circumstance, '1e4' is or is not a NUMBER represented as a string.

Question about DBMS_PREDICTIVE_ANALYTICS and non-linear data

I am executing DBMS_PREDICTIVE_ANALYTICS against some data, but it's not giving me good predictions for my null data. Should I be using different data mining techniques ?
The data has the following fields 1) Position, 2) Odds, 3) Selection & 4) Event.
Position and Odds and linear, since the smaller the number the higher the likelihood of winning, but Selection is a lookup based on a Name, so therefore non-linear, but can be used to look at previous form in the same data set. Event is a way to group Selection's into an Event.
What's the best way to tackle this ?

I'm currently using the data where the latest_taken column has the highest value. i.e. the odds and ranking just before the race starts.

Table with bith dynamic and non dynamic data

We have a report already developed. Now we need add some fields from some table which is dynamic in feature to the final report which is already there.
I need to know how come we can include the dynamic fields into the final internal table.
I tried declaring fieldsymbols inside the data stmt of the final internal table but it shows some syntax error.

My Firefox will not open unencrypted data, when there is a page with encrypted and non encrrypted data

When I try to review a page, I get a message that some of the info is encrypted and some isn't, then it only shows half the information. how do I get it to show all thee info on the page?

Non updated data in a cube

Hi Friends,
I have initialized a cube. in that there are 70 packages available. but the QM status has not changed into Green. while I see the details, only one package ( Package No. 38) has yellow states. in that package,
Transfer rules, Update rules are green but data has not updated... why it happened. how can we solve it...

Is extraction is completed?
If completed....then go to the source system....Go to RSA3.... give a greater number for data packet size to check maximum how many data packets it shoild pick....
If everything is ok...and still satus is yellow....then go to the status tab in the Infopackage monitor and make the total status forcefully green...
