Re-selecting library after update

I updated itunes on a pc. Now the library says that there is no music selected.  I can select one by one, but is there a way to select all?
At this point without manually selecting each song, I have nothing to load on to the ipod/ipad.  Any time saving tips?
Thank you!

  • I have lost my itunes library after updating it and keep getting a message saying MSVCR80.dll is not installed when I try to uninstall/reinstall it???

    I have lost my itunes library after updating it. Have tried uninstalling/reinstalling it and it gets so far then tells me that it cannot be installed because MSVCR80.dll is not installed on my pc. I have no idea what this is and have googled it, followed links to sites that say they can fix it, only for them to scan, tell me I have 3 thousand issues and then want me to pay $30 dollars to fix it for me. This message also appears on firing up my pc too.
    Can anyone help please?

    I've been through the exact same thing and cannot seem to get an answer here. When you go to Manage Storage, does it have something at the top like "19.1 GB of 25 GB available"? I only have a Mail account with 5.3 GB in it and a Backups account with 553 MB in it. Obviously, these don't add up to 19.1 GB. There was no change in any of these numbers when I deleted all the same files you mention. With the free Mobile Me storage expiring next month, this is something I'm pretty concerned about.

  • Over half of my music disappeared from my music library after updating to itunes 10.7

    I use a Windows 7 operating system.  Since updating my iTunes to the latest version, 10.7, over half of my music has disappeared from my music library.  All 851 songs remain on my iPod, but my library shows only 187 songs after syncing my iPod with iTunes.  Also, while trying to sync my iPod to my iTunes, I'm constantly being asked to authorize my computer (it's already authorized) and an unknown email address displays in the account sign-in window to sign in when trying to sync my iPod.  I did not have these issues with iTunes before updating to the recent version. Any help is appreciated!

    Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.

  • How to Restore iTunes Library after update?

    Updated iMac to iTunes 11.0.5 and lost almost entire library of music (all but 3 songs). Tried to open iTunes with previous library but music I downloaded from CD's cannot be "located". Don't know how to find them. Tried to restore from back up external drive library, but those files are "locked" or I don't have permission. Purchased songs, with some exceptions, will play. Some don't though.
    My library was from an much older version of iTunes (2008 or 09), could that be an issue? I don't use this desktop much at all, but would like to have the library be functional.
    1.  How can I restore my library getting all songs to play?
    2.  Should I update iTunes on my Macbook? It's using 11.0.4 now. I don't want to mess up it's library as that's the one I use.

  • Do all songs have to stay in music library after updating Nano?

    Hi - everything is going along fine with putting songs into my library and updating the Nano. My issue is that I don't want 1000 songs in my hard drive. If I delete some songs out to create space, and update the Nano, will the songs that are missing from the library get deleted from the Nano?
    I've tried looking in the help menu and in the manuals, but couldn't find the answer to seems like a very simple question - so anyone who can enlighten me is much appreciated. Thanks.

    What you are describing is iTunes default setting for synching with your iPod:
    ...iTunes automatically updates iPod's music library whenever you connect iPod to your computer. iTunes transfers new songs you've added, and erases songs you've removed.
    There is an alternative, manual updating. But it's really a lot less convenient. For details, have a look at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61148 .
    If you choose this method, pay particular heed to the warning about backing up your music.

  • I accidentally deleted my entire iTunes library after updating my iTunes.  Is there any way that I can get these songs back?

    After clicking on an update for iTunes, the only change I noticed was the addition of about 9000 sound bytes, which was ridiculous and wasteful.  I started to delete all the sound bytes, but that was going to be a huge chore.  Instead, I moved the songs I had in my library to a playlist called "backup library."  I then chose to "select all" under edit to highlight the rest of the 9000 soundbytes and delete these in one click.  At first, this seemed to work.  I still had the saved songs in my playlist, and the 9000 sound bytes went to the recycle bin.  I then emptied the recycle bin to get rid of the sound bytes.  When I checked iTunes again, there were no songs anywhere in the library or playlists.  Is there any thing you can do to help restore all of these songs (and none of the sound bytes) to my IPOD Classic?  Is my account saved with a back-up of everything I had saved in my iTunes library and playlists?
    I have about 1500 songs in my IPOD Classic that are not affected by this error.  Is there a way that I can transfer all of these songs back into my iTunes library?
    I would appreciate any help with this problem.

    Hello bigali,
    Your options are kinda limited. I would use this first:
    Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and ...
    Then check here for the non-purchased items:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2452022
    You want to rebuild the library first, then sync the ipod.
    Here is a good idea for when your done:

    Hope this helps.

  • Cannot open old iPhoto library after updating from Tiger to Lion

    I changed my Mac and now I am using Lion on MacBook Pro.
    I am trying to open the iPhoto library that I used to have on my old PowerBook G4 with Tiger, but it does not work.
    When I open the library, iPhoto says that the library needs to be updated and asking OK to continue. I press OK to continue and iPhoto starts to work though after hours (I tried to leave the mac to work for three days) nothing happens!
    The library is very big, 39 GB!
    Any help?

    NowApple:
    Sounds like a damaged database.
    Option 1
    Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
    Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
    This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
    Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • Select statement after Update statement under autocommit with RAC

    Hi,
    I've met a problem when developing my application with 10g RAC (3 machines). I am using open jdk 1.6.0 on linux platform with kernel release 2.6.18-128.e15PAE, my app using spring with oracledatasource to establish the database connection with autocommit. The situation as below:
    my application sends SMPP requests and receives SMPP responses, when receiving SMPP responses, my app update the response details to related record in DB. For some concatenated messages, my app need to check whether all responses of the related concatenated message are received, if all received, my app update the final status of the message.
    it is found that for some concatenated messages, all responses are received successfully, i.e. can be found in the database that the details of the responses are updated, however the final status of the message is not updated as expected. After further investigations to the database records and application logs, those cannot be updated with response returning almost at the same second, however they are manipulated one by one, not multi-thread. From the log of my app, it shown the dealing of the second response is started in the same second when the dealing of the first response is completed. It seems like when dealing the second response, it cannot "see" the first response is updated such that both responses find the message is not completed.
    Wonder under what condition would this happen? my db config as below:
    <bean id="dataSource" class="oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource" destroy-method="close">
    <property name="driverType" value="oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver" />
    <property name="URL" value="jdbc:oracle:thin:@(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=dbhost1)(PORT=1521))(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=dbhost2)(PORT=1521))(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=dbhost3)(PORT=1521))(LOAD_BALANCE=yes)(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=ha_bss)(SERVER=DEDICATED)))" />
    <property name="user" value="dbuser" />
    <property name="password" value="dbpassword" />
    <property name="connectionCachingEnabled" value="true" />
    <property name="connectionCacheProperties">
    <props merge="default">
    <prop key="InitialLimit">10</prop>
    <prop key="MinLimit">10</prop>
    <prop key="MaxLimit">2000</prop>
    <prop key="AbandonedConnectionTimeout">0</prop>

    <property name="ONSConfiguration" value="nodes=dbhost1:6200,dbhost2:6200,dbhost3:6200"/>
    <property name="fastConnectionFailoverEnabled" value="true"/>
    </bean>
    thanks

    This is not likely to be a JDBC issue at all. It is likely that separate connections are being used
    for the separate threads, and they may be to different RAC nodes. You must configure your
    DBMS so there is zero latency between the nodes, else there may be some delay between
    when one node changes data and another can see it.

  • Problem streaming movies from library after update to 5.0.1

    Hi, I just updated my apple tv to 5.0.1 and after doing so it is unable to load/play my videos from my home library.  It starts to do it but is v...e....r...y slow to load the video, as in, 1/2 hour has passed to get ready to play a 2 minute video and it still hasn't started yet.   Purchased tv shows work fine.  Netflix streams fine.  I have restarted the apple tv, itunes, and my airport.  Please help!  Everything was working fine before the update.  I have a first gen apple tv and the most recent version of itunes.

    Try deleting the account(s) you're having problems with, resetting your phone (hold on/off and home buttons simultaneously 10-15 seconds until Apple logo appears, release buttons and wait for it to restart), then add back your mail accounts.  I've read that this has worked for some.

  • Coverflow really slow and duplicated photo library after updating

    Hi!, I've been having these 2 issues stated in the titled since I updated my iPhone 4 yesterday after many "3200" errors. When I could finally pass the "Unpacking process", and just before finishing the update, I got a weird error (if I remember correctly it was something like -2 or so). I didn't pay much attention to it because my phone booted normally.
    After that I configured the iOS5 pre-settings, and for my surprise, any of my apps, videos or music weren't there. I connected my device again, resynced and hopefully, the restore option popped up, and it went smooth with no errors. The first thing I noted was that some of my albums were lacking the cover art. I connected again and found that in itunes, my songs displayed the cover art correctly, but in the iphone they didn't. I replaced the missing covers and when checked the cover-flow, it was really slow! it is not fluid and freezes my device. What could it be? I think it's something to do with the cache or something...
    And the other issue is more simple: after restoring, I got an extra folder called "Pictures" which contains the exact same pictures I sync from my computer (they are normally in the "Photo Library") How can I sort out my pictures?
    PS: Here is a video I uploaded showing the 1st issue: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcAEuN6tDvs please note the last cover I show in the video, some of the covers displays as shown (glossy pixelated, don't know if it got something to do with the issue)
    Thanks!

    I also noticed a bug on Iphone 4 ios 5.0.1. In Ipod application when viewed in landscape position so slow and then kicks me to the springboard(desktop). Sorry for my English, i'm Ukrainian. I hope this problem fix in next update. Thanks
