Re-set i pod touch's wi-fi password

I purchased a i pod touch for my son. I wanted to charge and set up for xmas. When I plugged it into my computer for set up it linked the wi-fi to my sons account that he had when he had a nano. we do not remember the password. so now I cant download apps for him. How do I re-set for a new password?

The Nano doesn't have Wi-Fi. Are you looking to reset the password to your router or your Apple ID to make iTunes purchases?

Hey everybody, I love my Itouch the same as everybody here. Its a sexy piece of equipment but as things get more sophisticated so does the risk of problems increase. I've found myself in a situation I have yet to solve. I was using my wifi downloading some music and a few apps. After the second app began downloading, my Touch froze. I did a hard reset thinking there would be no problem. Instead it rebooted with the apple Icon and has been stuck on this for over 3 days now. I've tried everything to trying factory restore, hard reset, draining the battery (EVERYTHING). I went on a forum and they did mention that downloading apps off wifi can cause a freeze. My main issue is trying to unlock my Touch again. I have movies and apps worth quite a bit of money on it and I dont want to lose them. The computer detects the device but it states that it cant sync my Touch because it needs a password to unlock it. But I cant put in a password because the Touch is frozen! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP, ANY SUGGESTIONS???

I'm not sure why you would be unable to do a restore unless it asks for a password for that as well, but if you cannot restore the device I don't think we can help you.
Restoring the device is really our last ditch effort for fixing these kinds of issues on the iTouch; if that option is not available then you'll probably have take the device to an Apple Store to see what they say.... I don't think there's anything else to try.

How do I set up a new e-mail address on my i pod touch

Please can anyone advise on how to set up a new e-mail address on my i pod touch.
I have recently changed internet provider and have made the changes in Apple Store and that is working fine with new password but I can't access the Apps Store on i pod as it is still showing my old e-mail address.

Go to Settings>iTunes and App Store and sign out and sing i with new one.
Also did you create a new Apple ID or just edited the original ID?
Note:
- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.

Unless you have a company or school iPod, that profile was installed by an app you installed. It is likely that the app will no longer function when that date is reached. You can Google the name of the profile and that may provide some more information.

Try disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall during the download and restore. If still problem come back with the exact wording of the error message.

If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. You need to backup the Touch to your computer and then Restore from that backup with the iPad. This will only work in the Touch is running 5.1.1 or earlier.

Thank you for any help I appreciate it. Apple products came highly recomended to me, and I have been largely happy with my i phone, i pod, i pad mini and macbook. I admit I tunes always confused me, it is so hard to copy things back and forth from computer to device or vice versa. Most importantly my partner has given me a set of CD with audio books, legitimate CD's not burned copies, and I wish to play them on my i pod touch. I have donethis before with CD''s, however now I look i see all the songs and audio books from CD's have been removed from my device after synch with my itunes on my macbook??? and I can no longer cooy the new CDs on to there? i try put them in the library, and they show up but they are not in black printing like the other songs, they are a faded grey color. They play on the mac book in itunes, so i know they are THERE, they just wont go on my device??? What am I doing wrong and why did all my other ones turn to grey gaded text and go off my i pod.
Furthermore, i thank anyone who takes time to help me, it isnt your job, it is apple's job, but they want me to pay forty bucks for the priviledge of contacting them for help because my warranty expired !! I am a loyal apple customer, All my devices are apple and until now i have been happy and willing to pay more for a good product. But i tunes is ridiculous! It's already synched things i didnt want synched and deleted things i didn twant deleted, and thats fine i told myself maybe im too dumb and dont get it. buT i've been trying all week and asked other peopel and still cant get this simple task done, and after purchasing their devices and recommending them to my friends, its a slap in the face to say they wont even let me ask a support question without paying forty bucks! The sort fields should generally be empty unless you've putting in custom values to sort solo artists by their surnames. You can apply common changes to thousands of tracks at once, just don't apply the wrong change because there is no undo.
It is a good idea to backup before undertaking large scale changes. See this backup tip for a suggested approach.

How do I get rid of a previous apple i.d. so that I can have the same one on my I Phone and my I Pod Touch

Previously I had an Apple ID with my I Pod Touch using an old e-mail address with @gmail.com. I just recently got the I Phone 5 and set it up using my new apple ID with an @hotmail.com. How can I change the I Pod Touch to the new e-mail address so that the music from my I Pod Touch can be put on my new I Phone.

iTunes/App store purchases are locked to the account that purchased them. You have to log the iPod into the account that purchased them to sync them to your iPod. To change go to Settings>iTunes and App Stores and sing out and sign back in.
iTunes on the computer also has to be logged into the account.

Delete your account in 1. "Settings > iCloud" + 2. "Settings > Messages > Send & Receive" + 3. "Settings > FaceTime", but still let them using your account for iTunes and app purchases in "Settings > iTunes & App Stores". Of course, please make sure that they do not know your password to set up your account for iCloud again or purchase anything alone.

Most email accounts require use of a passward to both send and receive email. That is the password that you enter.

Volume to low on my I-Pod Touch

How do i Increase the volume on my I-Pod Touch other than on the unit. Is there an app for this? Too low.

Purchase and use a set of amplified speakers.
If you are using headphones, some are louder than other.
Also go to Settings>Sounds and see if a Volume Limit is set. It applies only to headphones.
Further, if the iPod was officially sold in the EU, they require a lower max volume from the headphones jack that others countries.

I Pod Touch plays music tracks in random order...?

My i-Pod Touch will only play music tracks in random order - permanant shuffle and pressing the "crossed lines" icon does appears to do nothing, other than make it play... in random order! I've factory re-set and re-installed twice and this has made no difference at all. Can any one help or have any suggested fixes?

If you press now playing it will show up with that screen with were the son is at in terms on mins and the play button and all that stuff but just under the time thing there are these little things and one may be orange click that tell the orange is gone that should help if u understand what I'm saying hop that help
