Re: Signature issue in Acrobat XI

When I sign any document in Acrobat Reader XI, it enlarges the fonts of that page, where signature's applied, crazily. Kindly fix it.

"Kindly fix it"??

  • Appearance of Digital Signature in Adobe Acrobat 8

    I am creating a digital Signature in Adobe Acrobat 8 and am having difficulty getting all the information to appear clearly. The first example below shows, the signature, name and date. I would also like to include the name of the Company. The only way I have been able to do that is by clicking the “distinguished name” box in the appearance section of the digital signatures. An example of this signature is also shown below. However, additional information such as the name (again), email and country are also being listed. There are numerous abbreviations and equal signs now appearing as well. Ideally I would like the signature to look like the first one with the company name appearing just above the person’s name. Can anyone help me do this?
    Thank you!

    Hi,
    For the first problem (word wrap).  The problem you are encountering is if "Maryanne Doe" is too long to fit in half of the signature field, the text wraps to the next line. The signature appearance that is written into the signature field consists of two halves. The left half contains the graphic properties and the right half contains the text properties.
    You need to lengthen the width of the area where the graphics portion of the signature is contained. You can do this one of two way. Either lengthen the physical dimensions of the signature field before you sign. Or, you could create a custom signature appearance where you turn off all of the text properties, which has the effect of giving the whole signature fields over to the graphics portion. To play with custom signature appearances:
    Select the Edit > Preferences (Win) or the Acrobat > Preferences (Mac) menu item
    Select Security from the Categories list box
    Click the New button in the Appearance group box
    If you select the No Graphic radio button you give all of the space to the text portion. If you deselect all of the checkboxes in the Configure Text area, you give all of the space to the graphics portion.
    While you are in the Preferences dialog, select Identity from the Categories list box. Go ahead and fill in all of the editable fields. This is where the data is procured during the creation of a self-signed digital ID. I think that will fix the second issue you raised.

  • Can I create PAdES signature using Adobe Acrobat 8.0 or 9.0?

    Hi
    Can I create PAdES (PDF Advanced Electronic Signatures, Technical Specification ETSI TS 102 778) signature using Adobe Acrobat 8.0 or 9.0?
    ETSI Technical Specification (TS) 102 778 contains five parts:
    • Part 1: PAdES Overview – a framework document for PAdES
    • Part 2: PAdES Basic – Profile based on ISO 32000-1
    • Part 3: PAdES Enhanced – PAdES-Basic Electronic Signatures and PAdES-Explicit Policy Electronic Signatures Profiles
    • Part 4: PAdES Long Term – PAdES-Long Term Validation Profile
    • Part 5: PAdES for XML Content – Profiles for XAdES signatures of XML content in PDF files
    All five parts were published on 31 July 2009.
    Thanks for answer.
    Dragan

    Hi,
    The short answer is yes.
    Acrobat 8 and later support all of requirements of PAdES such as serial signing, long term validation (time stamping and embedded revocation responses) and signatures in the PKCS#7 format.

  • Performance Issues with Acrobat Reader 11.0.0.2 when secure mode is enabled

    Hello All,
    We are experiencing sporadic issues with Acrobat 11.0.0.2 across our domain, users are reporting performance issues when opening PDF documents whether locally or from a network share.
    We have found that turning off Secure Mode helps towards reducing this delay and in the cases it doesn't we are repairing the installation and/or reinstalling the application.
    Due to the security implications we need to leave this turned on, I am wondering if anyone has encountered this issue and what steps were taken towards resolving it?
    I also wonder whether the white list function in the new release 11.0.0.3 would be a solution to this issue?
    Kind Regards,
    Ryan McCarty

    No probelm, so....
    We had no problems with Adobe Reader 9 and 10, we encountered the issues when upgrading to 11.0.0.2.
    Initially we found that turning off the Protected Mode, helped but did not resolve the issue.
    We tried;
    1. Turn off protected mode - issue still present
    2. Clearing the recent file registry using the below registry path and deleting the keys underneath it.
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\11.0\AVGeneral\cRecentFiles (this does not turn recent files off permanently). - works but needs clearing regularly
    3. Turning off welcome screen by creating -  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\11.0\FeatureLockDown\cWelcomeScreen - works to improve app open speed.
    4. uninstall/reinstall of 11.0.0.2 - works most likley due to the recent files being cleared.
    5. upgrade to 11.0.0.3 - issue still present
    Following reboots the issue is still present.
    When Adobe Reader is the only application open this issue is still present.
    As mentioned I have no systems available which I could test this issue using 11.0.0.1 as we have fixed them, albeit temporarily using the reinstall method.
    I am concious that this issue is going to reoccur once that cache (recent files) builds back up because the fix above (#2) is clearing the recent files cache NOT disabling it.

  • Created Menu in JS in Acrobat 9.2 & Issue with Acrobat 9.4.4

    I originally created this Javascript on Acrobat
    7.0 because there was not a means for me to
    convert a pdf to jpeg.
    When I updated to Acrobat 9.2, the following javascript that I have been using until I have acrobat 9.4.4.
         // mystuff.js - Adobe Acrobat custom menu addition
         app.addMenuItem({ cName: "SaveToJPEG", cParent: "File", nPos: 0,
          cExec: "this.saveAs('/c/football/JPEG Folder/Rept.jpeg', 'com.adobe.acrobat.jpeg')" });
         // End of media.js
    In Acrobat 9.4.4  I have the problem of creating this jpeg now.
    I see this issue with Acrobat 9.4.4 on Win XP Sp2 (or Sp3 if its the latest), and on Win 7 (64-bits) pro.
    I believe there is now "Save As" menu option that will allow me to save a file to jpg now.
    I manually tried this using the tool bar and its all works.
    I call this operation using MS Access VBA code.   This is part of the VBA colde that I used:
                Path = pdfFile & T![DirName]
                pptFile = Left(T![DirName], Len(T![DirName]) - 4) & ".ppt"
                Set gApp = CreateObject("AcroExch.App")
                Set AVDoc = CreateObject("AcroExch.AVDOC")
                If (AVDoc.Open(Path, Path)) Then
                    Set AVPageView = AVDoc.GetAVPageView
                    Set pdDoc = AVDoc.GetPDDoc()
                    Set jso = pdDoc.GetJSObject
                    gApp.Show
                    gApp.MenuItemExecute "SaveToJPEG"
                    Set jso = Nothing
                    pdDoc.Close
                    Set pdDoc = Nothing
                    Set AVPageView = Nothing
                    AVDoc.Close (0)
                    Set AVDoc = Nothing
                End If
                OldName = "c:\football\JPEG Folder\Rept.jpeg": NewName = "c:\football\JPEG Folder\Rept_Page_" & Format(Count, "000") & ".jpeg"
                Name OldName As NewName
                Count = Count + 1
    I am able to call the menu item "SAVE AS", but I don't know how to pass parameters to this ??   I was able to called the "Save As" as follow:
         gApp.MenuItemExecute "Save As"
    How would I pass the parameter like I have in my Javascript ??
    I need help to resolve this issue to work with Acrobat 9.4.4 ?

    You would need to first set some javascript globals from your VBA code and then call your menu item.

  • Why I can't put signature in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC?

    Why I can't put signature in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC? I can use a picture as a signature in Adobe Reader XI, why Adobe Acrobat Reader DC doesn't have this option?

    I can find it when the language is english, but when I change the language to Chinese, it disappeared.

  • Creating an empty signature field in Acrobat Pro X

    I want to make an empty signature field in Acrobat Pro X, so that Acrobat Reader users can later sign it. I know how to enable that last part ("extended PDF Reader"), but don't know how to make an empty field.

    Is a blank signature field what I need to create if I want my document to be signed by someone else? I am just the editor of the document. I will not officially sign the document. The signature will come from a managment postion. Everytime I try to create a blank signature field though Adobe wants to sign the document with my personal signature.

  • Create Blank Signature Field in Acrobat 9

    Looks stupid, but I don't find the way to create blank signature fields in Acrobat 9 pro, I need it to pass the file on so that Reader users can sign it.
    To sign and then delete the signature (leaving the blank signature field) is not a valid alternative, this will need to be done by many (not only me).
    Regards, Luis

    Thank you Tim, I finally got the the correct place to create this blank signature fields.
    Forms: Add or Edit fields (Shift+Ctrl+7):
    Forms: Form Tools: Digital Signature   or   (right mouse button click): Digital Signature:
    Not as easy as it was but it's there.
    Thanks a lot.

  • Issue with Acrobat 10.1.2 and Windows 7 64-bit Preview Handler

    Hi. I work in an enterprise environment that is currently migrating to  64-bit Windows 7. The only version of Acrobat we have approved for Windows 7 is 10.1.2. We're seeing an issue with this version that causes the preview handler to not work. The preview panel in Explorer is just white and will eventually give the error "Preview handler surrogate host has stopped working."  I've tried to fix listed on http://www.pretentiousname.com/adobe_pdf_x64_fix/index.html but that registry key is already correct. Our current work around for these users to just install Reader X1 and make it the default PDF handler, but I would like to find a better solution. Is there a known issue with Acrobat 10.1.2 and 64-bit operating systems? Or is there a way to change just the default preview handler?

    Most of the info on the web page you link to is 2-4 years old. I doubt it applies. Your workaround is actually the best solution: It's always preferred to use the latest PDF viewer. Reader and Acrobat can exist on the same machine.
    Also, why 10.1.2? There have been 6 releases since then with documented security enhancements (meaning there are also published vulnerabilities which are patched), bug fixesm, and feature enhancments.
    I'll ping some folks about the error you are getting. . .

  • Watch folder lost issue in Acrobat 7.0

    We have using Distiller 7.0 in Macintosh. Set the Watch folder in Distiller to assign folder path in Network. The watch folder is missing after disconnecting the network or Quit the Distiller and reopen it again. We didn't have this issue in Acrobat 5.0. Eventhough server disconnects and relaunch the Network the Watch folder assign accordingly. No need to create a watch folder every time like Distiller 7.0
    Going forward we are annoying to use Distiller 7.0 or later version because of the Watch folder issue. The Distiller watch folder doesn't recognize the path from Network. I have been facing a lot of issue in Acrobat Distiller 7.0. Kindly help me out.
    If we assign the path to Desktop by using watch folder in Acrobat 7.0. We couldn't have this issue.

    Acro 7 is not compatible with Win 7. In your case there are no upgrades. You need to buy a full version of Acro XI. The minimum version to be eligible for upgrade pricing is Acro 8.

    We want to create an online contract form with different options which will determine different prices as they make their choices. We will also require a legally binding e-signature. Is Acrobat the best product or even an option for this?

    You need to use form fields. See the Acrobat help section and this site: https://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/
    However, that last part (receiving an automatic response when a form is submitted) has nothing to do with Acrobat, or even with the PDF file. This is something you'll need to set up on your web (or email) server.
