Re-sizing and annotations do not mix?

Can someone confirm this behaviour?
In LV8 open "Programmatically Annotate a Graph.VI" in
...\labview\examples\general\graphs
Right click on Waveform Graph and select "Scale Objecth Pane".
Run it.
Re-size window of VI by dragging right edge OR bottom edge.
Toggle "Avg" boolean and observe artifacts.
It appears if the old annotations are not being erased before new ones a drawn.
Redraw returns to original style.

Using the Abort button to stop your VI is like using a tree to stop your car. It works, but there may be consequences.

  • RAZR and Netflix Do not mix

Help!! I started using the Netflix App and it was working so well. All of the sudden it stop working. I can get to the site but when I go to play a movie. I get an error that could not reach the web service. I uninstalled the app. call Netflix and still can not get it to play movies.

As I posted eariler mine was not working either.  I reset my phone back to factory settings erased my media storage area but not my SD card and it is now working (after updating the app again).  I no longer have the Netflix app set to auto-update either as I think that's what caused the problem is that I may have been using the app during the update. I spoke with Netflix and a recent update had gone out  the day when mine stopped working.

  • Adobe Pro 11 and Safari do not mix well. Previos version lf Adobe worked fine in Safari and 10.9.

I cannot get my Adobe Pro11 to work in Safari. It does work in Fiorefox. Prior to Pro 11 install never had any PDF issues in Safari. After install, now get black screen and a note that says the adobe pdf veiwer cannot be found. This is poor software functionality in my opinion. I should not have to go into the library and modify anything. It should work. And if not, why wasn't that disclosed prior to me buyoing the program?

    Hello,
There are no files like that in that folder (com.apple.safari).  They all have long numbers with .jpeg or .png at the end.  That's what I meant by I cannot find any files like those mentioned in all the helps I read today.  BTW-it's still crashing - no particular pattern to it at all.
The only two things I have downloaded recently is a new version of Flash and a Mac-driven update to Office.
Thank you very much for your attempt to help us.

  • Firefox 4.0.1 and Windows 7 not mixing well. Since upgrading, FF is slow and hogs 40% of CPU. Ideas/help?

I did upgrade on an XP machine and FF runs fine, so must be a problem with Win 7.

Sorry you are having problems. First of all try Fifrefox's safemode.
*[[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]]
If that works post back for further advice.
Next step, if safe mode did not work.
<u>First: Try a clean install, (you have had a none standard version installed previously)</u><br /> that involves deleting the program files. Then if necessary try troubleshooting by creating and using a clean empty Firefox profile.

    <u>Second: try a New Profile</u>

    * this will be an additional profile, it is still worth backing up any existing or currently working profile on a regular basis

    * Until you are absolutely confident about the repercussions I suggest
** always use an empty folder when creating a new profile
** never delete or rename profiles, just disable or remove shortcuts
** after creating a new test profile open it and check for any addons or plugins that may be have been included by default

  • Super glue and iPhone do not mix

My iPhone (original) took a two story fall a couple of weeks ago. (forgot to button my shirt pocket and leaned over a railing) The Vaja case took the brunt of the fall, but the black plastic on the bottom of the phone cracked and started to separate from the steel rim around the screen. So, today I got out the super glue. It was an old tube of super glue, partly hardened. In order to get any out, I had to cut the nozzle back several times, and it was still hard to squeeze out, until it all came out at once. About a teaspoon of that nasty stuff came out, half all over my right hand, and the other half all over my iPhone, on the screen, on the little round push button at the bottom of the screen, on the speakers. Sigh. Five seconds earlier I'd been thinking, I really ought to try this with a new tube.
Super glue does not come off skin easily, and now my phone won't sync and although I can hear phone calls, the mic is toast.
    At least I'll get the 3 G tomorrow . . .

I have not had any problems with Aperture and/or Time Machine. However, Aperture is not TM smart so you can't recover individual photos. Not sure it ever will be considering the power of Vaults in Aperture. I would use it more for a complete recovery of your library if ever needed. Aperture Vaults don't store previews so it would be much faster to use TM than to regenerate an entire library of previews after a Vault restore.
My 150GB initial backup took less than 1 hour to an internal SATA II drive. You should turn off Spotlight for the TM drive. This is done in System Preferences in the Privacy section of Spotlight preferences. There is no reason for Spotlight on the TM drive and it will really drag the system down, even during the hourly incremental backups as it tends to create endless loops. You should do this immediately after initializing the TM drive or at least prior to turning on TM.
    Hope this helped!

  • Windows 8 BIOS and RAID do not mix well

I posted this in the Thinkpad forum, but posting it here also.
I downloaded and installed bios 2.03 for my W530 because of the Windows 8 support.
The bad news is that if you have raid enabled you will NOT be able to boot your system after updating the BIOS.
I hope Lenovo check this and issue a quick fix .... ????
The good news is that if you disable raid in the bios settings you will be able to boot off of a cd containing the previous version, 1.11 and restore things to working.

  • Safari and Meebo Do Not Mix

Since buying a new iMac and enjoying the UI I have installed Safari at work. At first everything was great. Every once in a while I noticed that pages will take 30 seconds or longer to load. It's as if it's not even working at times.
Then I noticed there was a correlation between having Meebo open in a tab along when I am browsing. Perhaps the javascript that is going on with meebo is a bottleneck? I don't know it's no problem for FireFox. I'd rather use Safari if I can.
    Thanks,
    Scott

Also, this behavior did coincide with a recent update to our Intego Antivirus software, but I think this is unrelated
Maybe not. Most, if not almost all, anti-virus software interferes with OS X and is not required.
    Try installing Glims:
If you want to fix your Google search to a specific Google location, I recommend that you download and install the free plug-in Glims:
    http://www.machangout.com/
which not only does that but much more equally useful stuff! Such as enabling Safari to run full-screen, and more.)
(It adds items to Safari Preferences).
Not only does it already list a number of search engines and regions, but you can also add any other search engine not already listed in Glims by using the method described here:
    http://www.machangout.com/tutorials/addsearchengine
Just enter the name you give the search engine in the name field, and the URL for it in the Query URL field.

Is there a setting that needs to be set to allow the annotation features?  I set password protection to open and then password for editing and set it to Any except page extraction, but it still did not give the annotation option

  • Stupid Question :) I took some video on my iphone but I did not flip the phone horizontally - have I screwed up the sizing and it will never import into imovie to edit it?

Stupid Question I took some video on my iphone but I did not flip the phone horizontally - have I screwed up the sizing and it will never import into imovie to edit it?

You can do this using Quicktime Pro 7:
Open MOV file in QT Pro (QT 7.6.6)
    Window -> Show Movie Properties
    select "Video Track"
select "Visual Settings" from lower window
    check "Preserve Aspect Ratio"
Click on appropriate rotation icon (MOV rotates!)
Click back on the open MOV in Player Window
    FILE -> Save
You can also do this using TransformMovie, available here:
    http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/21859
Also, MPEG Streamclip can rotate video while maintaining the aspect ratio as well as the interlacing when converting to DV, which is what iMovie prefers as an input:
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/video/mpegstreamclip.html
There is also a plug-in for iMovie from GeeThree called rotate/scale that might do the job:

  • Re-sizing and Pasting in Elements 12

I've just got Elements 12 and I'm having difficulty getting started.
The first thing I need to do, is to re-size a load of images - I need them to be a specific size in centimetres. I don't care how many pixels they are, or how big the file is.
However, whenever i try re-sizing, and then open the image in something else, it hasn't really changed size - it's just set to print at that size in elements. As I'm not printing them, I'm sending them digitally elsewhere to be printed, that's no good to me- is there any way to actually change the size.
Once I've got the images resized, I then want to paste them onto a slightly larger black background. However, I don't seem to be able to paste between files. Is this normal?
    To sum up:
I have a load of jpegs and pngs of various sizes, I want to get them all to 6.12 x 8.6 cm, then paste them into a black background 6.4 x 9 cm (providing a thin border against the edges being cropped int he printing process) and save as jpegs. These jpegs will then be uploaded to a printing company via the internet.
I'd hoped this would be a fairly simple process, but it seems to be impossible. Can anyone help?

For printing, it desirable to have the resolution in the range 240-300px/in.
You can convert the ruler scale to metric by right clicking on the ruler. This will help you to visualize the dimensions for reference.
On the crop tool's option bar, enter 6.12cm and 8.6cm for w & h (depending on portrait/landscape orientation.) Enter resolution 240px/in in the resolution field.
Drag out the crop shield to embrace what you wish to retain, then commit with the green checkmark.
Set your foreground color chip to black
    Go to Select menu>all
Open a blank layer above the background layer
Goto Edit menu>Stroke(outline) selection. Try stroke width 5px, position:inside. OK
Press CTRL+D to get rid of the marching ants.
You can adjust the black border (stroke width) to suit - simply delete the layer created in step #5, and replace it.

  • System cache cleaning - when is it safe, and when is not?

System cache cleaning is one of those so-called "maintenance" tasks that you may read about on the forums on Mac OS X guides that has mixed reviews, and typically is not necessary. In fact, when it is done at the wrong time, data corruption can lead to a situation where an erase and reinstall is necessary. I can't reproduce it easily, but I will say I've had it happen to at least three of my clients, so it is not as random as one would hope.
You've probably heard of browser cache, and that's safe to clean anytime you like. One thing you'll notice about when you do, is that some websites will load slower, and others will load faster depending on your internet connection, and the frequency those websites get updated.
System cache on the other hand which you'll find in ByHost and Cache folders in your Hard drive -> Library, System -> Library, Users -> yourname -> Library are a much more sensitive type of file. These will optimize the speed of frequently done operations on the operating system itself as well as specific applications which require those folders. When one of these files get corrupted, programs won't launch, will unexpectedly quit, will launch and close on their own, and in some cases Disk Utility won't function normally, or System Preference panels won't launch. To avoid these problems:
    1. Only do system cache cleaning after your data is completely backed up to your satisfaction, so that a system restore won't waste your time.
    2. Do it when no other applications are running, and there are no memory resident programs that may be affected by such cleaning in Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Accounts -> Login or Startup Items. Check the Process or Activity Viewer applications for applications you might have installed.
    3. Do not allow the process to be interrupted until it is finished. If any power outage happens, you may be left with a corrupted cache file.
If you have a corrupted cache problem, attempt to isolate if it is happening just to one account by creating another account with Apple Menu -> System Preferences -> Accounts with admin access and see if it impacts that account as well. Do the following depending on whether or not it does affect that account:
    1. If isolated to one user, go back to the user and delete that user's Library folder's cache files relating to system and Launchservices, and log out and log back in the user twice. If it disappears as a problem once, and reappears, something you are running is persistentantly corrupting that user's cache folder, and you may have to move all the non-corrupt files to the new user.
    2. If it is not isolated to the user go to the System and Library folders under the hard drive and see if the Launchservices files and System cache files are removed if the issue disappears on reboot, and if it does, does it reappear after a second reboot. If it reappears after a second reboot, then you have the scary prospect of an erase and install of your system.
Don't use automatic utilities to manage your system or user cache files. If anything only manually clean the cache when it is necessary and you have corrupted files. The cache is there to speed your system, and should otherwise not be touched.
