Standard troubleshooting...
1. Try a Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the slider. Slide to power off. Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the Apple logo.
2. Try a Reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
3. Remove apps from Recently Used (multi-tasking) list...
- From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
- Swipe up on the app preview card to remove it from the list
- Press the home button when done.
4. If still a problem restore with your backup.
5. If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
6. If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue.

Changed phone number, phone no longer working.

I have an LG Lucid 4G phone that is no longer working after changing the phone number. The area code for the new number is the same as the old. This was done online and the instructions stated that all I needed to do was a power cycle and the phone would update automatically. I did this but the phone did not update. The number shown online for the phone is the new number so it looks like the change has taken place just not on the phone. I also tried a reset and then pulling the battery and sim card but the phone still will not update. Going to "about phone" and viewing the phone number the old number is still there.
Is it possible I need a new sim card or is there something else that could be the problem?

After changing the number online (from my home PC). I did a power cycle on the phone but it did not update. I then logged off of myverizon then back on and the new number was reflected on my account. This was done from my home PC. I tried another power cycel on the phone but would not update. At this point I tried a reset with no luck. Swf frame number detection no longer working in 11.5

I have a movie that loads Flash swf files to sprite(41) and displays them at "displayslide" on the timeline. Some of the swf's have more than one frame, and on those frames are buttons to a video player further down the timeline at "showvideo". The button script picks up the frame of the flash swf, and the return button on the video player sends it back to that frame. Or it did until 11.5. Now it always sends it back to the first frame of the swf. Running a trace shows that it actually does pick up the correct frame, and the return button sends it back to the correct frame. But there seems to be a handling problem when it tries to redisplay the correct frame. I have managed to find a hack workaround by inserting a keyframe in sprite(41) and adding a script to the timeline which repoints to the correct frame. The problem is it now flashes up the first frame of the swf before going to the correct frame. Could this be a problem with the updateStage? The reason I say this is because I had to make the keyframe insert two frames long as one frame would not work

I tried a stripped down version with a 3 frame swf simply dropped onto the timeline - the problem does not occur. That means I would have to upload the full movie as it draws multiple slides from an external library and drops them onto the timeline at runtime. This package was developed to replace normal training material and is used widely to train some 120 000 candidates per annum by several companies. As such I cannot therefore post the full movie as I have to protect the code that drives the whole thing.I will have to stick with McGyver fix for the meantime.
As each slide is pulled from a library, and the slide backgrounds from a separate swf library, I think that something new in 11.5 either has a problem with running multiple things at the same time, or has a problem in running a sequence of instructions.

i am paying monthly for my local skype number 56 02 570 9567 and it seems that now it is no a functioning number, here. There was a recent change in dialing codes here and i am not sure if that has something to with it. Please help me reset or make it work....

'bios serial number' setting no longer working with 11.2.4.1

We recently installed 11.2.4 and monthly update 1 (in 1 evening) and now we've started to notice that our workstations are not getting the proper device name.
We have preboot set to give the workstation the bios serial number as device name (certain A brand ships computers with empty asset tags but has the serial set to the asset tag).
This used to work with 11.2.3 so I am guessing something has changed. There currently does not seem to be a newer imaging set than the one with MU1.
They are getting a windows-XXXXXXX where X is a seemingly random char hostname.
Anyone know what might be up with this or has seen it ?

Telephone Number Links no longer work...and other issues

I received the 2.3.3, 4.5.608.A956, update a few feeks ago and since then I have noticed reduced functionality and after combing these forums and Motorola's forums I am curious if I am alone in these findings.
One) Before the update if I looked something up in Google or an app presented a phone number I could tap it and the phone would switch to the phone controls and would dial the number. Not anymore! Now if I tap a phone number the phone controls open but the number is not in the dial window.
Two) If you use the Motorola widget, Contact quick tasks, and have them displayed on one of your home screens and you use the physical keyboard, causing the screen to rotate 90 degrees, they get blurry! That's right the text is blurry on the screen. It overlays the text on top of itself twice but slightly offset so it looks blurry.
Anyone else seeing anything like this?

Edit functions using number pad no longer working

suddenly (within the last week) I try to say, move a track by selecting it, typing say, + 1.0 enter, and last week that would have moved the track 1 second to the right. Now, everything locks up. If I force quit the finder, when it restarts, everything works perfectly again. If I try to move the playhead by using the number pad, the same thing happens. I deleted preferences, repaired permissions, changed out the keyboard, nothing seems to help. I'm wondering if one of the updates is wonky, so I'm asking if anyone else (I know it's unlikely, but I don't want to reinstall) has experienced this anomoly.

i've not experienced this particular issue, but before you try a full reinstall, I find it is often useful to create a new user account, and test to see if the problem still occurs in that new 'clean' account ... it often appears to slove the issue(s), which points towards some conflict/corruption within your original user account.
you could then chose to either migrate to the new user account, try deleting all your old user prefs (not just fcp) and see if that helps ... or just use fast user switching and continue using your original account for daya to day tasks and maintain the 'clean' account just for editing

Can't Receive Calls to my Skype To Go Number

We recently purchased a year long unlimited calling plan AND a skype to go number.
Unfortunately, no one can call my number. Sometimes they receive a busy signal, other times it just beeps once and hangs up.
Can you tell me why this is happening and how can we fix it so that I can receive calls to my to go number???

Hi. I have been using my Skype to go Number in Ottawa/ ONTARIO for years now. However the last few months the number is being charged as a long distance number on my landline phone bill. contacting my Landline provider they informed me that the location of the number i'm dialing is not in ottawa anymore but in Athens Ontario. I was never informed of any location changes to my number, and I was charged 6.65$ first month and 19.25$ the second month. this ended up costing me more than just dialing the long distance number directly. I need to contact skype for a refund for this issue asap, and be provided with a local number that is actually registered as in OTTAWA , ONTARIO.

1. Yes this is possible in a limited way. You would need to register each of your family/friends/clients' phones in your Skype To Go program. Only those who are registered could dial your Canadian STG number and have it ring on your Skype or on your phone. You wouldn't be able to give out the number at random because STG will ask for verification if a non-registered phone calls the number.
2. Unfortunately the Online # program can't be introduced in Canada until the Canadian telco authorities issue the necessary licenses.

Skype No longer works in Windows, So I've upgraded...

I've used Skype (with Skype credit to contact family and friends whilst on holiday) My netbook was running Microsh*te XP, but now it seems Skype no longer works, version 6.1.18 prompted to update, and would not allow me to continue using it, the new updated version doesn't work with XP, so I tried backdating to an even older version 6.1.14, but alas it's been deactivated, so I'm not replacing my netbook with a new one, nor do I want to spend as much money as my computer is worth to buy Windows 7 and attemp install on my 10" netbook with a minimal 1GB of RAM.
So alas I upgraded... to... Linux Mint Kde (Rebecca) and now...
Voila! Skype works perfectly

All the old computers I own branded or unbranded have been fully compatible with XP SP3. If for some reason you couldn't get your computer functional in XP SP3, you could always utilize the workaround I posted here to modify XP SP2 just enough to make Skype functional. I have a triple XP OS boot computer (XP 64-bit SP2, XP 32-bit SP2 [with workaround], XP 32-bit SP3) and they all operate just fine with the latest release of Skype (7.1).

Skype no longer working on my pc

I have been away for several weeks with PC switched off and when I returned Skype was no longer working on my PC. I still had the Skype icon on my desk top but all I get is " Windows can't find C:\Program Files (x86)\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe."
I have downloaded it again and followed all the installation steps but I still just get the Skype icon and the same message. Skype was working fine before I went away. I have never had problems with downloading Skype before. Any suggestions?
