Re: Startup files

My Mac Pro was stolen and I just bought a new Imac. Now, I would like to recovery my Itunes Library from my Mac account. I can see my old purchases but I don't know how to donwload them in my new IMAC. I apreciate your help

Sympathies for the loss. Sorry, but officially Apple does not allow redownloads of purchased items other than iPhone/iPod touch applications. It's your responsibility to make backup copies in case something goes wrong with your system or it is lost or stolen and you lose all the information on your hard drive. The official statement of their policy can be found here, among other places. If you don't have a backup of your purchased items, and don't have them on an iPod, you're probably out of luck and will need to repurchase your tracks.
If you have your tracks on an iPod or have them backed up, post back and someone here can help you get them restored. Otherwise you can try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service and explaining what happened. Reportedly in some cases Apple has allowed redownloading on a one-time basis. But don't count on it.
Regards.

    We migrated a Groupwise 7.02-postoffice from a Netware 6.5-Sp5-server to a
    SLES10-SP1-server with the Novell GroupWise Migration Utility.
    When we started gwpoa the postoffice-startup-file was not
    in /opt/novell/groupwise/agenst/share/
    We looked in the migration-logfile and we saw these messages

    This is were our sourcefiles were:
    Post Office:
    Source database path: \\fileserver\VOL1\DATA\GRPWISE\P006\
    Destination path: /var/opt/novell/groupwise/mail/p006
    Agents:
    Post Office Agent:
    Path to startup file: \\fileserver\SYS\SYSTEM\p006.poa
    As you see, our startup-file was on another volume then the postoffice.
    In the migration-log we only saw a mount of the postoffice-volume, so we
    think there is a bug in the migration utility. It does not copy the
    startup-file if it is on another volume (in this case on the SYS-volume).
    Or did we something wrong?
    At last we solved our problem by copying (and editing) a startup-file
    to /opt/novell/groupwise/agenst/share/

    It happens between the full dbcopy and the incremental dbcopy, when the
    agent is configured.

  • ITunes helper and qttask do not appear in my startup files menu

    Troubleshooting iTunes not recognizing my iPhone anymore (always worked in the past), after downloading the new iTunes and new iPhone software. Have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes twice and followed as much of the online troubleshooting as I could. Could not find iTunes helper and qttask in my startup files menu. This must be what is keeping iTunes from recognizing my iPhone. How do I get these files back?

    Many thanks.
    That can indicate trouble with your Apple Application Support. (Apple Mobile Device Support uses some AAS program files too, so it's consistent with your recognition issue, too.)
    I'd try the following instructions:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=11901253&#11901253
    (Although those instructions are for a 32-bit Vista, they're pretty much identical for XP. Just read "Uninstall a program control panel" as "Add or Remove Programs control panel" and "Computer" as "My Computer".)

    I am using Dreamweaver CC on Windows 7, 64-bit.  Starting with the last CC update to Dreamweaver, I get a javascript error at DW startup, file open and DW shutdown.  The application seems to work fine, but the errors happen everytime and are always the same.  At startup, it complains that a variable bcinit does not exist in file "BusinessCatalyst."  At file open, the error is in file "_onOpen" onOpen is not defined and at shutdown, in file "TeamAdminTempDelete" delTempFile is not defined.
    I have no idea what is going on.  Any suggestions?

  • Illustrator CS5 won't honor my startup file in OS 10.8

    It took me awhile to find the startup file so that I could empty out all of the swatches and stuff. So I finally found the Basic CMYK.ai file. I opened it and made all my edits to it. I saved the file and quit Illustrator. Now when I open Illustrator and create a new CMYK file none of the changes I made to the startup took, as in all my color swatches, brushes and everything like that are still there, but when I go back to the Basic CMYK.ai file it is correct. It is the way I left it.
    I illustrate artwork for textbooks and I dont want to have to remove all those unneeded swatches everytime I create a new file. Please help.
    Mac OS 10.8.2

    Normally I would change the startup in users/NAME/library/application support
    But in OS 10.8 there is no library visible in users. So I changed the startup that I could find, which was the one in the main library.

  • Creating custom startup file

    Where is the existing default startup file in Illustrator CS5 located? I'm assuming once I find that, I can replace it with a custom file of my own so I can eliminate the preloaded swatches, etc. that get in my way?

    There is no single default startup file; there are several. There are different startup files for different selections when you create a new document. Eash is a standard Illustrator file with different page size, colour mode, and palette items (swatches, symbols, etc.).
    The location of the files depends on your OS. On the Macintosh they are in Users/[your user name]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Illustrator CS5/en_US/New Document Profiles/

  • CRIO startup directory was typed STARTUP and now will not boot. How do I recover from this error or how do I rename the directory when my proxy server is read only due no startup files?

    I loaded files on the cRIO but used upper case letters for the startup directory.  Now I cannot access the RIO since it didn't boot. The proxy server comes up read-only so I can't reload the files or change the directory.  I tried the RS232 port but I can't get it to respond to commands even though I can see the processor boot.

    There is NO need to put your entire question into the subject line of your post.
    cRIO will not boot is a suitable subject line

  • User has a "startup on login" pref that opens a file named "apple-scc-20111227-074257".  Can't find any reference to this....any idea on what this startup file does or if it can be safely removed as a login-startup item?  thanks.

    Friend has a laptop running OSX 10.6.8, with latest software update 22Jun2012.  One of the User's items to startup on Login is a file titled "
    apple-scc-20111227-074257"
    No idea what this does or where it is located.....any ideas on what it starts up and if it can be safely removed from startup items?  Thanks for any info.

    If you mouse over the item in your Login Items you should see a tool tip indicating where it is.  Alternatively right (control) click on it and a contextual menu item, Reveal in Finder will be shown which you can select to open the folder containing the item.
    By the way the 20111227 portion of that name looks like a date -- 12/27/2011.
    I'm  sure you can delete it.  Nothing major is going to happen.  But you really should find out where it is.
    If Reveal in Finder doesn't show anything it may be because the file is invisible (which might be considered somewhat suspicious).  In that case use the finder find command (command-f) and look for kind filename plus invisible.  Or just use Find any File to find it.

  • CRS startup files

    Hi,
    This is a general question. I know that Oracle uses the pfile or spfile to startup the instance & the database. What files does CRS use to start up the cluster ?  if the OCR and Voting disks (disks which have cluster configuration) are stored in ASM how will Oracle know cluster information before the CRS start & when the ASM is down ?
    Thanks

    Hi ,
    Cluster uses below files ..
    + olr for initial startup for starting ohasd
    + Then after starting few daemons.GPNP starts up using gpnp profile
    + Then reads voting disks and starts up cssd
    + Then ASM starts up and opens OCR diskgroup.
    + it allows crsd to start

  • .DS_Store startup file

    I have this invisible file that boots at startup an launches TextEdit with a document titled .DS_Store with the following text: Bud1

    Should I be concerned that's it's still in my system?
    _DS.Store files are present in every folder - they tell the finder how to display the window - and are quite normal. Quite what's happened here I don't know, but as it's a plain text file I shouldn't worry about it.

  • Linux startup file

    Would you direct me to a FAQ or other documentation explaining where to
    place commands to automatically (re)start Oracle Server when RH Linux (6.1) is rebooted?
    (found a reference to /etc/rc.d/init.d,

    I used this solution (I don't know, if it is "optimal" solution, but
    it works good).
    1. startup scripts
    #!/bin/bash
    # /etc/rc.d/init.d/dbora
    # Startup and Stoping Oracle "Services":
    # - Oracle RDBMS
    # - TNS listener (tnslsnr)

    . $ORACLE_BASE/.oraenv
    ORA_SUBSYS=/var/lock/subsys/oracle # for RedHat "services"

    then echo 'Oracle startup: cannot start'
    exit

    case "$1" in

    su $ORACLE_OWNER -c $ORACLE_HOME/bin/dbstart
    if [ $? -eq 0 ]; then
    touch $ORA_SUBSYS # Creating "flag": DB is running now
    if [ $ORACLE_TNS -eq 1 ]; then
    echo 'Start Oracle tnslsnr'
    su $ORACLE_OWNER -c "$ORACLE_HOME/bin/lsnrctl start > $ORACLE_HOME/network/log/start.log" ;
    if [ $? -ne 0 ]; then
    echo "... error, check $ORACLE_HOME/network/log/listener.log"
    fi
    fi
    fi
    'stop')
    if [ $ORACLE_TNS -eq 1 ]; then
    echo 'Stop Oracle TNS Listener'
    su $ORACLE_OWNER -c "$ORACLE_HOME/bin/lsnrctl stop > $ORACLE_HOME/network/log/stop.log" ;
    if [ $? -eq 0 ]; then
    su $ORACLE_OWNER -c ">$ORACLE_HOME/network/log/listener.log" ;
    fi
    fi
    su $ORACLE_OWNER -c "$ORACLE_HOME/bin/dbshut" ;
    rm -f $ORA_SUBSYS
    esac
    # end of dbora
    ... for RedHat is important:
    - keyword action anywhere in script (for output messages on boot process)
    - ORA_SUBSYS=/var/lock/subsys/oracle ... this variable and path: means an
    sign about running service
    As You see, my script dbora call one other script: $ORACLE_BASE/.oraenv
    Here is the .oraenv script:
    # .oraenv
    ORACLE_HOME=$ORACLE_BASE/product/8.1.5
    export ORACLE_HOME
    # NLS_LANG='english_united kingdom.we8iso8859p1'
    NLS_LANG='czech_czechoslovakia.EE8ISO8859P2'
    ORA_NLS33=$ORACLE_HOME/ocommon/nls/admin/data
    ORACLE_TERM=vt100
    LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/lib
    PATH=$PATH:$ORACLE_HOME/bin
    export NLS_LANG ORA_NLS33 PATH LD_LIBRARY_PATH
    JAVA_HOME=/usr/local/jre

    export JAVA_HOME PATH

    SQLPATH=$ORACLE_BASE/local/sql
    export SQLPATH
    ORACLE_SID=ALFA
    export ORACLE_SID
    # end of .oraenv
    2. link dbora to /etc/rc.d/rc[0136].d
    You have to link dbora in this way:
    ln -s /etc/rc.d/init.d/dbora /etc/rc.d/rc0.d/K11oracle
    ln -s /etc/rc.d/init.d/dbora /etc/rc.d/rc1.d/K11oracle
    ln -s /etc/rc.d/init.d/dbora /etc/rc.d/rc6.d/K11oracle
    ln -s /etc/rc.d/init.d/dbora /etc/rc.d/rc3.d/S70oracle
    And thats all.
    I hope it is usefull.
