Re: Tecra A10-PTSB1E Windows 7 x64 Device Driver Missing

We've done a clean install of Windows 7 x64, downloaded and installed the Windows 7 x64 specific drivers/files from [http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=UK] but still have an unknown hardware device showing in Device Manager as -
Other devices
PCI Simple Communications Controller
Hardware ID shows as PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2A44&CCSUBSYS_00011179
A quick Google appears to show that this is some sort of Intel Management Device
Any anyone throw somemore light on this?

  • Can't install Windows 7 Pro x64 - device driver missing - can't eject DVD

    Hello,
I am trying to install Windows 7 Pro x64 - I create the partition in boot camp and start windows install process. **During the Windows install process**, it says "A required CD/DVD device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now. Note: if the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you can safely remove it for this step".
Apparently the drivers are on the OSX install DVD. But, there is no way to eject the windows DVD! Why on earth is there no manual eject on Macs? Is there another way to eject? I tried to put a paperclick in the slot next to where a CD is inserted but it didn't do anything. Is there another way to get Windows to see the correct device drivers?
I am all for clean slick designs, but when it does not have all required functionality, it is kind of useless.
I am talking to Mac Support and they can't help.
Looks like I will have to return this Mac, I also need to boot into full Windows (without Parallels or VMWare) to do my work.

You don't mention what Mac you have, so I'd have to say there is almost no way to help.
IF the 7 Pro x64 came download ISO thru EDU, you have to burn it, and if you use Disk Utility, at 2X reduced burn speed... otherwise it won't work.
A VM isn't fussy and can use ISOs.
If you want both native and VM, to have Windows installed on its own hard drive and use it under OS X, then you have to install it and use Boot Camp Assistant.
I'd say it is all about your DVD media.

  • Windows 7 RC installation on MacBook Pro: 'DVD drive device driver missing'

I'm trying to install the Windows 7 RC on my unibody MacBook Pro (purchased november 2008). I create the partition in Boot Camp, insert the install DVD, and restart the system. Then the Windows setup starts as it's supposed to (Windows is loading files). The install program launches fine, and I get to choose language settings.
And now it all fails. After I've chosen language settings, I get the message: "A required CD(DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now."
    Screenshot of the message: http://img25.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dsc00102yyh.jpg
I'm kinda baffled by this message. Obviously the drive can be use by the install program, but it still complains of a missing driver. I had no trouble installing the Windows 7 beta earlier this year.
I've done some googling, and it appears to be problem experienced by some others. Someone had the issue on an Asus machine (I think), and the solution was to download the driver and out it on a USB stick. But I can't seem to find the driver for the MBP DVD drive anywhere.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?

After countless days trying to solve this problem, I feel I can now add to the few solutions presented on the various forums of the internet. I'll post here because 1: i'm a mac user for everyday life although like most have as many pc's as well. 2: I already have a login for these forums!
okay so i tried everything from re-burns to usb install (which I could not complete because removable drives are not recognized by xp and I don't have a vista system). The problem for me ended up being because the DVD drive was plugged into the primary master ide channel. My hard drive for the unit i was installing windows on is sata and was configured as such (not bridged into IDE channel by bios). So in a nutshell it seems like the hard drive and the DVD drive are nit picky in regards to the IDE configuration of the drives themselves. This won't help for virtualization on a mac pro I realize but nonetheless is food for thought hopefully for all the people searching for " windows 7 install cd/dvd device driver missing " in their search engine!
Oh boy one more reason to love mac's

  • Windows 8.1 - T530 - Base Device Driver missing!

    Hi guys,
Been working to solve this base device driver missing in my T530 image since couple of hours now. I've searched a lot and seen many threads talking about this problem. Tried every solution I ran into but nothing worked so far.
    PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_E822
Form what I know, this should be a Ricoh Media Card Reader driver. I think I tried like 10 drivers from Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, 32 bits and 64 bits and nothing worked so far. Tried Smart Card reader driver too.
All Windows Update are installed at the moment.
    Any clue to help me?
    Best regards
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I don't know what is the Have Disk...!
Yesterday... we managed to install the driver using the Ricoh Media Card Reader Driver for Windows 8.1 (32-bit, 64-bit) 25 mars 2014. I could swear I had tried them all... So I took the extracted files and added them to the imaging thingy and it doesn't work anymore!
I did Windows Update on the T530. I did try to manually and auto install using the same driver but it won't work anymore
    Any clue?

  • Continual reboot and device driver missing

Hi, I have a t400 installed with both win7 and ubuntu 11.04. The system suffers from continual reboot, basically when I shutdown the machine, it automatically and forcibly get rebooted.
I have followed some instructions on the web, and there is a device driver missing, which is PCI simple communication controller. I have tried download AMT package, which does not work for me. It gets stucked in a terminal saying that I need insert TN33, which I dont have. My t400 type is 7417. Any comments are appreciated.

    hey tristartom,
continuous reboot occured after installing ubuntu yes ? could you remove ubuntu and have your unit on a mono-boot with windows and see if the same error occurs.
if it doesn't happen, then i suggest heading to Ubuntu forums or the Linux thread in this forum and check with other linux users if they have experience this same issue as you.

  • IPhone 5 iOS 6.1.4 and Windows 7 x64 USB Driver Issues

Been pulling my hair out with this one for the last week or so and haven't had any luck finding anything on the forums or the web regarding a solution short of a full reinstall of Windows 7 which I am not prepared to do at this time; so hoping someone here can shine some light on this for me
I have a iPhone 5 that is updated to iOS 6.1.4 and a recently built Windows 7 64-bit machine. All of my other USB devices function fine (keyboard, mouse, Xbox 360 wireless receiver for Windows, and a Seagate 2TB external USB drive). I've downloaded the most recent version of iTunes, installed successfully and then attempt to plug in my phone to sync. I get the standard Windows *ding* that I've attached a device and 1 of 2 things happens (I haven't been able to determine what causes one reaction to happen versus the other): Windows will successfully install the 'Apple USB Mobile Device Driver' successfully and it will appear under my USB devices in Device Manager. However - iTunes will not recognize the phone and I cannot see it in Windows either. In the 'Devices and Printers' snap-in my iPhone will appear under 'Unspecified Devices' as the 'Apple USB Mobile Device'. The iTunes diagnostics fail to find a connected device so the tests fail. As soon as I unplug the device, the strangest thing happens: Windows will start trying to install a device driver and after a few seconds it will fail stating that the "MTP Device Driver" installation failed because the device was unplugged. iTunes also thrown an error "iTunes cannot connect to this iPhone" throwing error code 0XE8000065 (I've also seen error code 0XE8000085 as well)
After some finagling, I've managed to get Windows to recognize the device under 'Portable Devices' in Device Manager as an "MTP USB Device" using the generic driver. At this point, I've tried updating the driver and manually specifying the Apple USB driver located in the C:\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Drivers which updates successfully but then changes the device to "Apple USB Mobile Device" and moves it under the USB Devices in Device Manager; and Windows nor iTunes can see it even still.
I've tried removing iTunes several times and ensuring that all remnants of the installation are gone (registry and folders on the installation drive) and have disconnected all my USB devices short of the keyboard and mouse and still I get the same results. At this point, I'm afraid that a re-install of Windows is going to be the solution; but it's a drastic one (I have a SSD drive where Windows is installed along with all of my games for faster load times/better performance and do not want to have to redownload\reinstall all of them) and I'm not prepared to undertake it at this time, which is why I'm posting here
I've used a utility called USBDeview that sees my phone is connected - so I know from a functional standpoint that my USB ports are good and working. I also know the cable is good too - my daughter's PC (Windows 7 32-bit with NO iTunes) immediately sees the device when I plug it in, installs the drivers, recognizes it as an iPhone and I can then see/browse it in Windows Explorer like I would normally expect. My work PC (Windows 7 64bit, NO iTunes) sees the device just fine as well. I would immensely appreciate anyone that has seen this issue or has any additional solutions I can try.
It's also worth mentioning that I've never used Kapersky antivirus so the UPPERFILTERS value in the registry that I've seen as a solution on some forums is not present on my machine. I'm using Microsoft Security Essentials as my antivirus (no flaming please lol - it meets my needs and is extremely lightweight, which is why I'm using it on a gaming rig) and it's not indicating any issues. I've also tried running iTunes as an administrator (even though my account is a local admin on the machine) and that does not have any effect either.
If there is anything I left out, please let me know; and I thank you in advance!

  • Problem installing Laserjet 4050 in Windows 7 x64, No driver in Universal Print Driver v5.0.3

I have just installed Windows 7 64Bit operating system.  I have be successful in installing several other more recent HP printers in the office.  However, my main "workhorse" printer is a HP Laserjet 4050 and I have downloaded the Universal Printer Driver v5.0.3 for Windows x64 - PCL 5 and PCL 6, and in both cases it does not find a suitable driver. The HP download site states these Universal Drivers will work, but I cannot get it to install.
Is there a driver that will work on the 4050 in Windows 7 X64?  Thanks everyone.

You're probably getting the "Windows cannot locate a suitable printer driver" error if you're trying to add the driver while adding a printer that is shared over the network. You see, HP's Universal Printer Driver (UPD) doesn't contain the PnpIDs of every printers it supports, so when you specify HP's UPD as the drivers for the network printer, if Windows can't find a match for the printer's PnpID it spits out the driver isn't compatible.
The way to overcome this is to install a "generic" printer locally, using HP's UP driver, and change the port afterwards to point to the shared printer. So, first, add a local printer (that will be using the LPT1 port - make sure no printer is attached!), and click on "Have disk(s)" to browse to and select HP's UPD. Going through the remaining steps should install a locally-attached printer named something like "HP Universal Printing PCL 5" (or "[..] PCL 6"). You'll then go in the new printer's properties, on the "Ports" tab, and click on "Add Port...". If you're installing a shared printer, you'll select "Local Port", click on "New Port..." and specify the path to the printer (e.g. \\myserver\hplaserj) as the port name. Those steps should do the trick.
Last thing: beware, though, as HP's UPD PCL 6 might not be compatible (anymore) with your LaserJet 4050, as they use a PCL XL class number/revision (class 2.1; sort of a version number of the protocol) that is higher than what your printer's firmware might support for PCL6 (should be class 2.0) I know the latest versions of HP's UPD PCL 6 doesn't work with our LJ 4000 & 4050 printers, so you might have to use the PCL5e driver for those 64-bit workstations.

  • Windows 7 x64 - No Drive Detected. Please Load Mass Storage Driver........

    Hi there..
I just installed a new harddrive on my MacBook Pro (a Samsung SpinPoint M7 Enhanced 640GB)
I formatted it to HFS+ during Mac OS X install, and it works great.. Later on I made a partition, using Boot Camp and began installing Windows 7 x64, only when I come to the screen where I need to pick a partition, there is none..
It doesn't seem to find a HDD and asks for a 'Mass Storage Driver'
Does anyone have an idea of how to solve this problem?

    Hi Fortuny, and thanks
The Windows Install disc is retail, the same disc I used to install Windows 7 on my old hard drive via boot camp..
Usually I don't have any issues with this stuff, I've tried it a couple of times helping my friends, but since I changed the hard drive from the standard 320 GB FUJITSU MJA2320BH FFS G1 to a 640 GB Samsung SpinPoint M7 Enhanced (HM641JI) It just doesn't seem to detect it during Windows 7 Install..

  • Bluetooth peripheral device driver missing

Droid bionic connects to pc  win 7 64 bit  in bluetooth just fine, can play music through pc speakers, transfer files , use as a modem.  but in bluetooth devices it shows bionic with a yellow triangle. i right click on it and says trouble shoot . says unknown device, no driver installed. it did load several drivers when i first connected, but this one didnt for some reason. have been to windows update with no luck. bluetooth adapter on pc has latest driver. i have latest motorola usb drivers installed also on the pc.. I may have to contact tech support at motorola for this. also i will try reinstalling my adapter drivers. if anybody has any ideas, please let me know ty.

I tried several other solutions but none of them worked perfectly as the last one that I tried after vigorously searching online.
Here's what I did when bluetooth on Windows 7 PCs that I had:
    - Download the 'Windows Mobile Device Center' ( current version is 6.1 ) which you can download it from http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...-download.mspx
this works for both Vista and Windows 7. I've tried it on both.
    - Install the downloaded software but it may not look like it worked on Windows 7 PCs. Vista automatically configures the settings on the bluetooth devices but for those who have Windows 7, here are the things you should do:
    - Go to 'Device Manager' from 'Control Panel' -Or- just right-click on Computer Icon and choose 'Properties' and then click on 'Device Manager'.
    - You'll see an 'Unknown Device' named 'Bluetooth Peripheral Device'
    - Right-Click it and click on "Update Driver Software" -Or- anyway you find it easy to bring up the Update driver window.
    - Click "Browse My Computer for Driver Software" button.
    - Click "Let Me Pick from a List of Device Drivers on my computer".
    - Select 'Bluetooth Radio' from the list if it asked you to select and then in the next window, it will show a list of drivers with Company Names in one list and Drivers in another. In the Company List choose 'Microsoft Corporation', not only Microsoft.
    - From the drivers list there may be one or more drivers with the name "Windows Mobile-Based Device Support" with different driver versions. Select one or the latest.
    - Ignore any warnings and keep pressing next and then Finish at last. If all goes well, the last screen will show the message that device driver is successfully installed.
Now, after manually updating the driver for your bluetooth device, in 'Device Manager' when you click on 'Bluetooth Radios', it should display one more item which will say 'Windows Mobile-based device support'.

  • Windows HD Audio Device Driver Keeps Deleting Realtek and Disabling Sound

I have a HP 655 Notebook PC with the Windows 7 64 bit OS. Until July 23 2014 everything was working fine. Them some automatic windows update installed the windows hd audio driver and disabled the realtek driver.
I tried everything. I went to device manager, unistalled the windows driver, reinstalled realtek, to no avail. Every single time windows starts it automatically installs this driver.
I disabled the update system. I changed the settings to never install driver software in device installation settings, no avail.
I tried unistalling the update, but it can't be removed.
I did system recovery to the point prior to the update and still the damned device keeps reinstalling itself, only then when I restart the computer suddenly realtek appears. But I have to restart it every single time.
Mind you, I don't care which driver i have as long as there is sound on my laptop! But the only way you get sound on a HP laptop is with a Realtek driver it seems. The Windows HD Audio driver is not working and yet there seems to be no way for me to stop windows from installing it on every boot up.
I also tried installing realtek with the windows driver still installed, but it can't be done, error 0001 appears during the installation. I have to remove the windows driver first the install realtek. But when I restart the computer, the windows driver automatically re-installs itself!!

  • Sony DR-BT21G Wireless Headset & windows 7. Device driver software?

Hi Guys, trying to connect my Sony DR-BT21G Wireless Headset , to my P.C via Bluetooth,
Operating system for my machine wasW8, but has been downgraded to W7.
I have installed a Bluetooth dongle.
The computer recognises the headset as a device, but states that "the Driver for the Bluetooth peripheral device is not installed"
Cannot find a download to fix this problem.. any ideas?

Please try the following. Each of these steps represents a possible solution to this issue, check the pair status after completing each step:
Make sure both devices are turned off at the beginning of the pairing procedure.
Be sure to place the Bluetooth wireless devices within 1 meter (3 ft) of each other.
Make sure that the Bluetooth wireless device is in the Pairing mode.
Enter the same Passcode for both Pairing devices.
Make sure that the profiles of the Bluetooth wireless devices match. Devices that do not support the same profile cannot be paired.
If the Bluetooth wireless device has a TX/RX (transmit/receive) switch, make sure it is set to the appropriate function.
Some Bluetooth wireless devices can function as a transmitter or receiver only. Two devices that serve the same function (transmit or receive) cannot be paired. You must pair a transmitter with a receiver.
The device you are trying to pair with must support Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) and AVRCP (Audio Video Remote Control Profile).
If pairing is not established within five minutes, pairing mode will be cancelled and the Bluetooth headphones will automatically turn off. If this happens, perform the pairing procedure again.
If my post answers your question, please mark it as "Accept as Solution"
