  • Post-process after the upgrade to non-Unicode

    Hello all,
    I'm doing a CU&UC and just completed the first part - non-Unicode.
Since it will be followed immediately by a Unicode conversion, do you really need to do all the post-upgrade tasks? And if not, which are the mandatory part?
    Thanks again,
    Terry

You can take the CU&UC Guide..... after upgrade and before unicode it's mandatory to do some steps, aall about unicode preparation.....after do it you can do the export....
    Has you begun this????.

    Alfredo.

  • Problems realted to changing the language for non-Unicode programs from one into anther.

    Hi,
    Hi everyone!
    Product Name: HP Pavilion dv6-6093ex
    Product Number : LM610EA#A2N.
My Windows 7(464Bit) Ultimate,  and its base language, and display language is English.
The Languages(English, French and Arabic) built-in (came re-downloaded and re-installed by the person who made the Windows disc installation). Thus, while installing Windows 7, those three lanauge listed for me to choose one of them to be the base language
and display language, I have chosen 'English'. In the End of installation, there are three pre-packaged languages(English and French and Arabic) can be used as a display language.
I would like anyone kindly to confirm for me why I have been facing these problems when changing  language for non-Unicode programs from English into Arabic.
First: After I have installed the  AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver (sp55092) 8.882.2.3000 on my laptop. The contents of the of Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel are partially shown in Arabic while language for non-Unicode programs
is Arabic, however, they are completely shown in English while language for non-Unicode programs is English.
A: I found that contents of the of Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel are partially shown in Arabic (second screen shot below, however,
when click on any options, for example 'Graphics properties' shown in Arabic in, the second window is shown in English) while language for non-Unicode programs is
Arabic, and it doesn't matter what format or location is.
B- when I changed language for non-Unicode programs into
    English.
I found that contents of the Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel are completely shown in English .
    Second:
A- Only All Arabic contents will be displayed encryptely while language for non-Unicode programs is English
B-  All the Arabic contents are displayed properly   while language for non-Unicode programs is  Arabic.
Third: an error extracting drivers and software downloaded from official HP website while language for non-Unicode programs is English.
A-  I noticed an error extracting all kinds of comprised files(drivers and software) downloaded from HP website while language for non-Unicode programs is English and whatever location and format are:
B- However  while language for non-Unicode programs is Arabic, there is no error extracting files.
    In conclusion, Is it normal
for all of you the contents of the of Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel are partially shown in your native while  language  used
for non-Unicode programs is your native lanague, however, they are completely shown in English while language for non-Unicode programs is English?.  IF so I would be saying that if I have wanted the  contents of documents written in my language
Arabic to be shown properly, then then I
must let the language for non-Unicode programs be Arabic.
Is this happens with you as well?
Also, if I need extracting all kinds of comprised files(drivers and software) downloaded from HP website, then language for non-Unicode programs

I would highly appreciate any clarification from you.

    Hi,
I am confused about your issue.
when you changed language for non-Unicode programs into  English, it show English.
while language for non-Unicode programs is Arabic, it show Arabic, If it's none-Unicode.
This is correct. Why you think it's an issue?
About your second scenario description, I was not clear what you said. Could you give us a explanation?
Note: System display language is not the un-Unicode program language.
You can just choose one language to display the system at same time.

    Hi cooperator,
I saw your post regarding the language questions and I will be happy to help. What are you are experiencing with the languages is normal. The base operating system is in English and while you can change the display language the core kernal of the operating system would be in English.
The reason that the Intel Graphic and Media Control Panel is in English and the rest in Arabic is because the driver would have been designed in English and is hard coded as into the driver but the display language is set to Arabic. So when the language is set to English everything will be in English.
The reason you having issues extracting drivers when you English set at the language is because the HP website will determine where in the world you and when you download the driver it will be the appropriate language for the country you are from. So when it extracts it will look for the proper extraction path using Arabic but everything is English. It work no problem when you are on Arabic because the driver can read the path properly.

  • From non-unicode to Unicode

I want to read texts in a Unicode SolMan 7 sps20  system that were already saved in a non-Unicode SolMan 3.2 system. When, i tried to open docin solar01, i have a message :"No document opened". Any idea?!

    Hi Puneet,
You can convert non-unicode single code page systems to unicode for all SAP Applications and SAP NetWeaver systems. Of SAP NetWeaver you can only convert SAP NetWeaver AS (ABAP) and SAP NetWeaver BI to unicode as all other SAP NetWeaver solutions are unicode only anyway. For the SAP Applications please note that only certain releases can be converted to unicode. For SAP R/3, you have to be at release SAP R/3 Enterprise extension set 2.00 before you can convert to unicode.
The other major restriction is that most but not all databases support unicode - the major exception being Informix.
Also it should be pointed out that you can do a conversion in place and therefore do not need to do an application migration (it is simply an export with conversion and a reload into the new database).
Al the requirements and conversion steps are covered in conversion guides found on the service marketplace. http://service.sap.com/unicode@sap ->  Unicode Library -> Unicode Conversion Library
    I hope this helps,
    Mike.

  • Transport request from non-unicode to unicode

    Hi
In our BW landscape we have Development and Production server.
Unfortunately the development server was installed on BW 3.5 with NonUnicode
and production on BW 3.5 with UNICODE option..
We inderstand the architecture change, but we are using only ENGLIGH language in our envn.. Do we still need to do a unicode conversion on our development server ??
I understand that as long as I am using single language & single codepage, I will be needing a unicode conversion
Kindy let me know your feedback..
    Thanks & Regards
    Madhu

    Hi,
We are having a running landscape of non-unicode system.
Now, Another Landscape is being used by parent company of Unicode Systems. Now, All data, programs, objects are being configured on the parent company server. So, there is no chance to migrate non-unicode to unicode.
But, We have to apply all packages developed on Non-unicode system to Unicode System. I have released that request and copied data file and cofile into target developement System (Unicode) then imported on this Server.
Now, we are facing this problem (Above mentioned.). I think, there must be a solution for it conceptually.

  • Unicode Errors - Interface with non-Unicode 3rd party system

Does anyone have an experience working with an interface between a Unicode SAP system and a non-Unicode 3rd party system? Would appreciate your input on existing data declaration and logic (prior to SAP Unicode conversion), if changes need to be made to the character types and upload/download functions.
We are doing our testing in a newly converted Unicode system which has interface sending files through SAP Business Connector, and uses TDAccess/COMM-PRESS to encrypt the payment file.
We are getting an COMM-PRESS error that it's not able to get the private key
    ERR=>RC=107#Error building signature segment (S1A/S2A) ERR=>#Error getting private key: #PUBLIC KEY FINGERPRINT = , rc = 524
The issue seems to be that the passphrase is not received correctly in COMM-PRESS (codepage 1100) from Unicode SAP (codepage 4102). The passphrase is uploaded from a text file (codepage 1100?) to T_PPLOC and then to W_PPLOC.
    TYPES: BEGIN OF T_PPLOC,
             FLINE(64) TYPE C,
           END OF T_PPLOC.
    DATA: W_PPLOC(64)  TYPE C
    CALL FUNCTION 'GUI_UPLOAD'
          EXPORTING
            FILENAME                = W_FILENAME
            FILETYPE                = 'BIN'
          TABLES
            DATA_TAB                = T_PPLOC
        LOOP AT T_PPLOC.
          IF W_PPLOC IS INITIAL.
            MOVE T_PPLOC-FLINE TO W_PPLOC.
          ELSE.
            CONCATENATE W_PPLOC T_PPLOC-FLINE INTO W_PPLOC.
          ENDIF.
        ENDLOOP.
Comparing the results between a Unicode and non-Unicode system, the uploaded passphrase is different because of the codepage. But even if I convert the passphrase first from 1100 to 4102 codepage, it still fails.

    Hi,
Try this by sending value to the CODEPAGE parameter of the function module GUI_UPLOAD.

  • Importing from an Oracle database converted from non-unicode to unicode - SSIS 2012

    Hi,
I've some SSIS 2012 pkgs that read from a non-unicode Oracle database to a non-unicode SQL Server database.
Few days later, the Oracle database will be converted to unicode one and so I need to update the SQL database and the SSIS pkgs. Obiously no data conversion transformations are present in the pkgs. I'd like to avoid to add more of these data conversions.
As a first step, I'm trying to convert a SQL table to unicode format, but it isn't possible to convert non-unicode and unicode string data types.
I did not expect to have an error about the conversion from to non-unicode Oracle database (not yet converted) to unicode SQL Server database: a such conversion doesn't lost any information content. For me, it is right to have an error by from unicode to
    non-unicode conversion.
Any suggests to solve this issue with a minimum development effort? Many thanks

Nope once you change datatypes to unicode you've to refresh metadata settings within SSIS packages for it to work fine. SSIS doesnt have the ability to do metadata changes at runtime. So someone has to update package metadata information to make them unicode
to make sure it works correctly after the changes.
What you can do is create test dbs in oracle and sql in uncode and create some modified packages based on it. Once you make changes to production dbs you need to move these modified copies also to production after making necessary config value changes like
servername, dbname, folder paths etc and then they will continue to work normally without causing any further downtimes to the customer.

  • Transport from Non-Unicode to Unicode system

I'd like to transfer program from SAP 4.6c to SAP ECC 6.0.
But source system is Non-Unicode, and target system is Unicode.
I exported transport request from SAP 4.6c into files:
    K920948.D51
    R920948.D51
then importing into SAP ECC 6.0 by STMS and getting error:
"Program ZRM06EF00: Syntax error in line 000000
The program 'ZRM06EF00' is not Unicode-compatible,according to its program attributes."
    What should i do?

    Hi:
It is required to make the change accordingly of UCCHECK.
So upload in the higher version, and check its syntax error first and then activate.

  • Problem publishing database contents from non-unicode to unicode system

    Hello everyone!
We just set up a new SAP WAS based on Netweaver 2004 as a unicode system. Out problem now is that we have a content management system on our non-unicode system and that we are publishing the contents via rfc to the WAS unicode system to display the contents online. the contents are stored in our own database tables.
The problem thereby is that many texts pasted from microsoft word contain special characters like bullets, long minus or low-9 quotation marks which are not correctly displayed in the unicode system / on the website. we already found out that it has something to do with the codepage. the sap notes say we should use 1160 instead of 1100 and that the transaction SPUMG would be helpful. but we are not able to select any tables there.
so now we do not know what to do exactly. do we have to change something in our non-unicode system or do we have to conversion in our unicode system. and what happends if content containing special microsoft word characters is published after the spumg conversion? do we have to to this frequently?
We would be glad if anyone could help.
    Thanks a lot!

    Hi Martin,
    thanks for your quick answer.
You got me right. We have a local non-Unicode SAP HCM Netweaver 2004 system running a self-developed web based content management system / wiki. The texts entered in the bsp application are stored in a string field in our database table. Actually we publish the contents to a WAS 6.20 non-Unicode system with the same database tables to provide the content via BSP for the public. Everything is working fine including the special characters.
Now we want to replace the WAS 6.20 non-Unicode system by a new WAS 7.0/2004 Unicode system. But when publishing the contents via the same RFC function module to the new system the special characters seem to be damaged. We are not able to replace them with abap commands and when they are displayed on the website we only see "boxes".
If I get you right we have to run SPUMG on our nw 2004 non-unicode productive hcm system, right? but isn't there a danger to damage existing contents?
    Best regards,
    Stefan

  • Data extraction from Non-Unicode ECC6 to Unicode SAP BI system

    Hi,
We have an existing non-unicode ECC6 system. Currently we are installing SAP BI unicode system. Can anyone tell me are there any issues in data extraction for SAP BI from a non-unicode ECC6 system to an Unicode SAP BI system ?
Please also note that our data consists of Asian (korean, Japanese & Chinese) fonts.
    Regards,
    Anirban

    Hi Des Gallagher,
    Thank you for your reply.
I have gone through the notes suggested by you, but they suggest issues related to BW 3.x versions. We are currently on SAP_BW 700 - SP16. Also, among other notes i found note 510882 which might be helpful for custom developments.
But i am still wondering whether we are going to face major issues related to data extraction from non-unicode ECC6 system to unicode SAP_BW 700 system.
Incase you have any further details, please let me know.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Regarding non-unicode to unicode conversion in mapping

In our project we have Pi system which is installed as unicode system.
But the SAP systems at the sender side is unicode and most of them are non-unicode systems.
We have a doubt regarding the challenges that we need to face in PI mapping with reference to unicode and non unicode conversion.
Is it possible for us to Map the RFCs of non-unicode SAP system at sender side with the help of graphical mapping?
Any conversion we need to do?

  • I had to reinstall ox and snow leopard on my imac g5.   I used the migration assistant on my macbookpro to copy everything onto the imac. The apps came in fine, but all folders say "no access." None of my user names seem to work. What now?

My iMac G5 was running too slow. I tried everything I could think of or find in the literature, but finally had to start over by reinstalling OX and then Snow Leopard. I lost all my folders and applications, so I used the Migration Assistant on my MacBookPro to copy everything onto the iMac G5. The applications all came through fine, but all of my folders have the "no access" icon on them. I followed the instructions I found on line, but none of my user names worked. What do I do now? Am I just out of luck? The only other alternative I can see is to transfer all my folders onto a thumb drive and put them into the iMac, but that will be slow and cumbersome.

Are you now using a different username from the one you used prior to migrating? If so that is the reason for the problem. You might, then, give this a try:
    To fix Home folder permissions
Open the Terminal application in the Utilities folder.  At the command line prompt enter or paste the following command line:
    sudo chown -R `id -un`:`id -gn` ~
Press RETURN.  You will be prompted to enter your admin password which will not be echoed.
