Presently we are using Queue Controlled Transport Strategy for our R/3 4.7 system landscape. We are planning to replace the Queue Controlled Transport Strategy with Workflow Controlled Transport Strategy. My question is " Can we configure tp approval levels in Workflow Controlled Strategy like from enduser(tp owner)->Functional Lead (approver)--> Basis Administrator automatically?"
Any help would be highly appreciated

I'm not quite sure I'm reading your question correctly, so maybe I need to retune my answer later.
This is a quote from the help files:
<i>By default, there are 3 system-wide approval steps and the step Approved by system administrator is active.
You can also define other steps in addition to the default approval steps. If you define additional approval steps and have configured more than one QA system, you can determine if the additional steps are to be system-/client-specific (only one QA system) or cross-system/client (global).</i>
As you can see you would need to activate the enduser and departmental approval in order to fulfill your requirements.

Request owner approval in Transport Workflow (DEV to QTY)

Hello,
I have set up the transport workflow between DEV and QTY systems on ERP6.
I need to allow developers and consultants to approve their own transport proposals in order to facilitate transport to the QTY system.
Currently, when an user releases a transport request and creates a transport proposal, the approval message is sent to the TMS Worklist.
Therefore, only administrators can approve transport proposals.
How to allow users to approve and import their own requests through the Transport Proposal Inbox in Transport Organizer (SE10) ?

Approval procedure in Transport Workflow

Hi,
I configured transport workflow QA approval procedure. When i approve the proposal it is getting imported into QA automatically. I want to approve but let somebody else to move the transport manually.
How do i do this?
Also once its moved to QA and tested fine how is the approval to PRD handled using transport workflow?
Please advice.

We also have a requirement where we only want the approvers to approve them. The transports should not be automatically imported in production.
When the proposals are approved, the transports are automatically imported.We do not want this to happen.
We want to do it manually at a particular time.

Transport Workflow / Send Mail

Hi Experts,
I want to send email automatically to the person is going to aprove the change request for release strategy in transport workflow.
I made configuration for service desk but now I want to do it for this.
Any clue?

At which point do you send the mail? After approval or as a notification for the task? If you want to send a notification to the approver for new workitems you can use program RSWUWFML2 or if you are on ECC Extended notifications. If you want to send an e-mail after approval you can get the agent from the workitem. After it is executed the user who executed the workitem is stored in WIACTUAL_AGENT in the task, you can bind this to a container element in the workflow.

I see that you have still not received any hints about how to transport a workflow.
Are you not asked for a workbench transport when you save the workflow definition? I think this is solved by changing a setting in SOBJ or whatever the transaction is called. Of course, the prerequisite is that your basic workflow settings (transaction SWU3) is already OK. Ask basis people for assistance before you create havoc by making changes in SOBJ.
Otherwise, search for OSS Notes. There probably is one mentioning this problem.

Transport workflow engine

Hello SAP Gurus,
We are new to this transport workflow automation process. We are currently testing this in sandbox (S00).
S00 has multiple clients. Each client represents one country (example - client 200 represents Belgium,
201 represents France, 202 represents Mexico, 250 represents USA etc).
Each client have different Developers/functionals/infosecs/users.
As only one Workflow engine can be defined per instance(S00)/client (250) under STMS --> systems overview -->transport domain --> workflow engine tab we have below issues.
Users from other countries cannot able to approve/reject/import their transport proposals - reason being
their user id is not created in 250.
Is there any options to create seperate workflow engine per client? or how can we do this for other countries without enabling CUA or maintaining all users at one client(workflow engine client).
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated,

You need to this way. Even i follow the same way. Here 200 and 400 clients are customizing clients. I will develope workflows in 300 client after developing i will transport the workflow from 300 to 400 then from 400 only i can transport to quality and to production.
You can also do the same way. From differents clients move to 250 from 250 you can transport to quality and to production. No need to move any users.
To move the transport request from different client to 250 do this way. go to 250 client and opent the transport fron SE01 and double click on the partent request id and do a small change in the description and save it. This will do the transport from different client to 250.

Hello,
each satellitesystem has his own domain controller.
The Solman is connected via domain link with these domain controller of each satellitesystem.
You can create this Links in two Steps:
1.     - Logon in Solman system where the domain controller is located
         - Tcode: STMS→Overview→Systems
         - Mark the satellitesystem where the domain controller is located
         - SAP System→Create→Domain Link execute
Now you only create the request for an domain link!
2.     - Logon in satellitesystem where the domain controller is located
         - Tcode: STMS→Overview→Systems
         - Mark the satellitesystem where the domain controller is located
         - There must be an option to answer the request from the Solman
You can check the domain link in Solman when you click in STMS on the button Legend.
The Typ Other Domain Controller has a special symbol.
You get detailed informations about domain link in the SAP Library SAP Solution Manager.

The transport workflow is realized in Solman with CRM and Solman actions.
Example:
If the status of service order SDHF (urgent correction) is changed from "In development" in status "To be tested".
there is an automatic transport into QAS system. Please be sure that you have realized the transport task, before.
You can create also a backround job for each system/mandant (except the productive system) for automatic import of all realized transport requests. We planed these backround jobs in all of our satellitesystems (except the productive system) every 10 minutes.
For you productive system you should start the backround job (Import Transport Request (Background) from the maintenance cycle manually. The report is called /TMWFLOW/SCMA_TRORDER_IMPORT.
This report imported all realized transport requests from the import queue of your system.

Problem in transporting workflows

There are some workflows already existent in the QA system. I try to make some client specific changes to the workflow template and one of the tasks and after Im done. I try to create a new request to send across the changed wf template and the changed task. I am not sure how to do that, can anyone help me

hi Satish,
Don;t know on which sap version you're on. But ther should be an export/import from xml option in the menu of the wf builder (pftc, click in template then worklfow builder button). I've never tried this before, so I don't know if this works.If you're trying to create a "custom" transport in which create the keys manually. Then I advise you to first create/change a WF-template in dev and look up what entries are in the transport and use these tables with your own key to create the import.

Transporting workflow in landscape

Hi ,
I copy a standard workflow template and customize it including all Task and Rules and put them all into a single Transport request number. I need to move it to Quality environment for testing. Will it be like all other transporting like(Programes , Forms ) or i need to take some more information into account ?

Check Tcode OOCR and disable the flag for general task. Nothing more needs to be taken care of. If there is event linkage customizing request needs also to be transported.

i have made changes to task TS91000059 but there is no change request , how can i transport the changes, i have made some changes on its binding

Please check whether theres is any Tansport request already waiting to be released for that Workflow Template. You will surely find one.Transport. Also try to disable the General task by using Tcode OOCR.

Transport WorkFlow

Dear All,
I want to use the transport work flow for transporting the customization from DEV to QAS and PRD systems.
I followed the

now I found that the proposal comes to me to approve /import it and no thing go to my manager to approve but I want the workflow works by this way the proposal go to my manager to approve it and after that the proposal comes to me to import it,

What did you do to find the workflow log? It doesn't look like you are trying to find it, but just wait for an answer.
You can find it by going to the inbox (if you still have a task there) select the task and click on the icon which looks like a scroll or paper or something. When you hover over it with your mouse it will say workflow log. Then go to the technical log and when you change the layout of this you can find the template number.
Another way is after starting a workflow, start transaction SWI1 and you will get a list of started tasks and workflows, identify yours. From here you have the option to go to log using the same icon.

Transporting Workflow changes to QA

Hi Experts,
I have some Qs regarding transporting the changes made to the Workflow.
My Question is that, a custom workflow has lot of requests associated with it ..( both customizing and workbench ).
Once my workflow has been transported to QA. Now i have to make sm changes to the send mail step.
I have made the change and linked it to a transportable workbench request.
Now releasing this request alone will move the change . Or i have to goto basic data and Active the Strt condition again and transport that too, so that the change works fine in QA ?

Yes, there is no need of transporting again the linkage request.Only the changes are reflected to the other system when ever you try to export a request to other system.
And make sure each time you do a change and when the request is ported to the other system then run the TXn SWU_OBUF and refresh the organizational assignment . this makes the workflow environment to run smoothly.
