  • CS3 freezes at Adobe Design Suite window upon loading

All of a sudden on both my macs running OSX 10.7.5, I can't load any of my CS3 programs. My computer keeps freezing on the window titled "Adobe Design Suite Standard CS3". The window below is blank and the only active button is the yellow one, not the red or green. I have tried restarting several times to no avail. Anybody know what is happening? Should I try reinstalling the entire suite on both my computers? Thanks for any assistance.

    Hi KJess,
Did you install any new updates that might have caused this? When was the last time that it was working fine?
Try launching the app in Mac's safe mode and check.
Are you not able to launch any of the application from the Design standard Suite?
In case you still face issues consider removing the program and reloading it,

  • Legal to install Adobe Design Suite on my friends PC?

Just wanted to ask if it was legal to install Adobe Design Suite on my friends PC? I have the student edition of Adobe Design Suite CS4 and im not sure how many times i am allowed to install it for myself let alone for another person. She is also a valid student and holds a student card. Obviously i didn't pay a lot of money for it to run out of licence uses so i don't want to go over my own amount if i do a reboot for instance. The Microsoft office student edition only has 3 licence uses as an example.
Any replies are already well thanked.

Look at it as a cycle point of view (activate/deactivate). Not as 20 of each.
If you do the following by seperate replacement or upgrade: Update processor, new hard drive, new motherboard, new video card and reinstall windows that is 10 cycles used up right there. Then if you have a laptop or another compter....... it adds up pretty quick.

The 20 activate/deactivate cycle is just plain wrong. What in the world are the shirts thinking?
I have difficulties following that reasoning - how many times does one install the same software on the same computer (or a replacement, if the original one fails) ?
Ok, hardware can fail, so a 2nd installation is quite reasonable.  Ok, hardware can fail again, so a 3rd install still seems reasonable.
But then, are we talking about a software release one is going to use for a lifetime?  Especially if it comes to student versions; most people don't stay students for the rest of their lives...

  • Will Adobe Design Suite CS6 work for my computer?

I'm looking into getting adobe's design and web premium CS6 suite, but wasn't sure if would be compatible with my computer. I will admit I know little to nothing about computers unless we are talking photoshop or illustrator or graphics in general, and basic functions. I know near to nothing about processing speeds, cores, memory, etc. So, to get down to it I am on a MacBook Pro 15-inch Early 2011, I will be upgrading to Mountain Lion before I install the design suite. Hardware overview for my comp shows as this:

On Adobe's site is says the System Requirements for Mac are:
Multicore Intel processor with 64-bit support
    Mac OS X v10.6.8 or v10.7
    4GB of RAM (8GB recommended)
10.5GB of available hard-disk space for installation; additional free space required during installation (cannot install on a volume that uses a case-sensitive file system or on removable flash storage devices)
Additional disk space required for disk cache, preview files, and other working files (10GB recommended)
1280x900 display with 16-bit color and 512MB of VRAM; 1680x1050 display required and second professionally calibrated viewing display recommended for Adobe SpeedGrade
    OpenGL 2.0–capable system

QuickTime 7.6.6 software required for QuickTime and multimedia features
Dedicated GPU card recommended (for optimal performance in SpeedGrade and for GPU-accelerated features in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects: NVIDIA Quadro 4000 or other Adobe-certified GPU card with at least 1GB of VRAM recommended); visit www.adobe.com/products/premiere/extend.html for supported cards
Optional: Tangent CP200 family or Tangent Wave control surface for SpeedGrade
This software will not operate without activation. Broadband Internet connection and registration are required for software activation, validation of subscriptions, and access to online services.* Phone activation is not available.
Is this enough info to know whether it is compatible? If you need more information please let me know. If it is, could you tell me if it is compatible with my computer.
    Thanks.

If you have one of the new dual core G5s that will work. If you don't then that RAM will not work. It is DDR2 and the older PowerMac G5s use DDR.

  • Reinstalling Adobe Design Suite CS3 on a New MacPowerBook - missing components?

I have just replaced my old MacPowerBook (circa 2009) with a new MacPowerbook. Both are running the same OS 10.9.2. Design suite runs on the old powerbook, but it is failing
and needed to be retired.  Transfer of my licensed CS3 design suite will not run after application transfe with an apparent license failure. Instructions in the warning window says to Says to uninstall and reinstall.  Reinstallation from the Master Installation disk fails with an error messages which says components are missing but does not tell me which components are missing.  Downloading installation files from Adobe's site gives the same error message (components missing). How do I identify the missing components

  • Why can't I reactivate my serial number for Adobe Design Suite Premium CS3?

Below is a screen shot of what I am trying to explain. I did Step 2 but isn't recognizing my serial numbers. I don't understand that. I have purchased this a while back. Is it because it's old? Or do I have to purchase a serial number even though I have one already?  I was avoiding to have to pay something that I already have which isn't working. What do I do?
Thanks in advance for you help.

    Hi sagalynn,
    Please see this document: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-deactivation-products.html
You shouldn't need to purchase an additional serial number. Did you activate your software on more than two computers? If so, you would need to deactivate it on one computer, before activating it on another.
Please let us know how it goes.
    Best,
    Sara

  • Downloaded Adobe design suit web premium in 2012 and lost all information on that purchase because Apple wiped my mac clean...What do I do?

So I brought my Mac book pro retina to Apple to fix a glitch. The Technician called me and told me to come back it up before he does anything else. So I go pick it up and bring it home to find out the whole computer had be factory reset. I was pissed cuz why should I have bothered to pick it up if he already wiped the memory he told me to come back up. So i bring it back and complain to them but they obviously can't bring back that information once it's been factory reset. I also can't sue them for their f-up cuz you sign a stupid piece of paper that says if they f-up and lose any memory that its your fault for not backing it up. Anyways this poses a huge problem for me because I have now lost all my Adobe programs. I download the suit online instead of getting a disk because this mac has no cd port and at the time I didn't have an external one. Not sure what email I used to buy the program with either....I also don't think posting this in a forum will help either but adobe only gave me that option as a form of help....it doesn't help if i need to directly talk to someone in their company. I really don't wanna have to buy the program over again cuz who has the money to buy a several hundred dollar program twice? I know I don't.
I'm guessing I have to call their customer service, but does anyone else have any ideas?

if you have access to your serial number, download the installation files and install.
if you registered your software with adobe, or you purchased and downloaded from adobe, check your account for the serial number:  https://www.adobe.com/account.html
otherwise, contact adobe support and see if they can help you with your serial number, https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html

  • Trouble after loading the Adobe Design Suite CS5.

I just loaded CS5 onto my MacBook Pro.
    Running OS 10.5.8.
I have been having trouble with getting my custom workspaces to save.
I get all the palletes and panels set up where I want and Save Workspace with a name.
That all goes well until I shut down. When I restart, the recently saved Workspace is nowhere to be found.
It is not in the Window-Workspace, or Manage Workspace areas.
Can I use my previous version CS4 custom Workspace file? If so, where do I find that? And then where do I drag a copy of it to make it work for CS5?
And with Photoshop CS5 I get the palletes all in their custom places and when I go to Save Workspace Photoshop crashes.
I have uninstalled the entire package and run the CS5 Clean Tool and then re-loaded the entire Design Premium CS5 and still the trouble.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks!

The reason Illustrator crashes on quit is that as a last step in quitting it tries to write the preferences files to keep any changes made during the session. If it does not have permission to write these files it crashes and any changes made to the preferences are not saved. Try doing a "Get Info" on the following folder Users/<yourname>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Illustrator CS5. What are the permissions for that folder? Also you can try to make a new user account and try from there. If it works then you have a problem with you old user account.

  • Looking at buying an iMac for Adobe Design Suite & gaming; opinions?

    Hello!
I'm currently using a 2007 15" MacBook Pro. I upgraded my RAM myself to 4GB a few years back, and while it still gets the job done, I have a feeling it's going to kick the bucket soon.
I'm looking at getting a desktop now that I'm out of school. I am deliberating between a 21.5-inch and a 27-inch, mostly because of the option to upgrade the graphics card to 2GB on the 27". If I bought the 21.5", I would buy another off-brand monitor; have two on my desk.
Aside from that, when comparing at the Apple Store, the 27" felt uncomfortably large (*that'swhatshesaid*), but probably since I work on a 15" laptop, and have two ~22" Dell monitors at work. I'd get used to it, no doubt, but it was a concern I had at the time.
The representatives that I spoke to gave me mixed signals about which I should buy (which I guess a lot of it is based on personal preference), so that's why I'm here.
This is what I would use my Mac for:
-An assortment of Adobe programs, usually running two or three programs at once (but no movie editing)
-Gaming (Minecraft/Skyrim, mostly. I'll probably be looking at partitioning my hard drive to be able to play other PC games.)
-I hardly if ever watch TV/movies on it, but that may change
Does it make sense to buy the larger option, to just be able to get the 2GB graphics card and slightly better processor? Or is 1GB on the 21.5" more than adequate for my needs, and I'll save myself about 600 dollars?
I'll be upgrading the RAM myself to 8GB or 16GB.
Thanks for any input, I appreciate it!
    Damaris

Yeah, I am definitely considering it now, thanks!
With the specs I'm currently considering, I'm at $2,300:
    Base 21.5": $1,500
    i7 Processor: $200
    1TB/SDD Hard Drive: $600
(+$150 of my own Crucial 2x8GB RAM brings me up to: $2,450)
    Other things I'm thinking about:
Apple Care: $170 (probably not going to get this)
    Windows 7: $120
    Additional Monitor: $300?
Dell/other brand monitors run for 100-500 bucks, right? I need to do more research; really have only taken a cursory glace at them; I know I need an adaptor for the firewire port.
    Thanks again for your help.

  • Photoshop CS4 Design Suite

I am wanting to run my PC version of Adobe Design Suite CS4 on my new Macbook Pro 17".
I have heard I can use BootCamp, or VMWare 2.0 or Parallels.
Which is better and more stable?
I have Vista Ultimate 64 on my PC currently running CS4.

I'd like to know if anyone is routinely running CS4 64 BIT PC version on an Intel Mac using any software, Parallels, Boot Camp, VM ware, no matter!

  • Adobe Creative Suite Design CS6 - PhotoShop, InDesign and Illustrator immediately shuts down after startup

I'm troubleshooting for a customer who have Adobe Creative Suite Design CS6.
His programs suddenly wont start, they launches and starts to read plug-ins and open up a workspace, but then without warning/error it shuts down. no log, error message or anything...
It's the same for PhotoShop, InDesign and Illustrator both in 32 bit and 64.
He is running the suit on a Hp EliteBook 8560p with Windows 7 Pro x64 sp1.
He also have had a Wacom Bamboo CTE 650 penpad installed before.
This is what I've done so far:
    * Uninstall the whole suit and reinstalled it again (Done this 3-4 times, manually deleted regestry-files, used CClean and other cleaning tools)
    * Deleted the wacom-drivers with controlpanel tool, Windows driver Clean tool, CClean and manually deleted registry-keys and files.
    * Uninstall Anti-Virus software and replaced it with another, inactivated AV and Windows Firewall.
    * Deleted register-files for the suits and "reregister" them again.
    * Full patch both for windows and adobe softwares.
    * Reboot between each step
    Any suggestions?
I have to add that adobe support for this $2000 software really sucks...
    Thanks!
    // Rikard

    Problem solved!
I went through all the folders associated with adobe cs6 and renamed them (one by one) so they would be recreated.
I did this before but seems like I missed this specific one.
Anyway, when I renamed the folder "SLCache" in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\ and then ran the applications one by one as administrator I was prompted to enter a serial-key again and log in to my Adobe-ID.

  • Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Premium trial version says my serial number is invalid?

I purchased Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Premium from my my community college's bookstore in 2010. I successfully have used it all this time, but I recently bought a new laptop. This new laptop does not have a disk drive, but I was able to download the trial version of it online. It downloaded great, and I have been using the trial version, but the trial is up in one week. I deactivated my serial number on my old laptop, and then tried to enter it onto my new laptop, but the error message keeps saying "Incorrect Serial Number": "The serial number you entered is not valid." However, the serial number is definitely valid, and I spoke with Adobe and they just checked and were able to see that I do have an activation available for this serial number. Why won't it accept it?
    Side Notes:
    The licensing is Student Licensing
I downloaded the correct creative suite (Creative Suite 4 Design Premium)
I typed in the serial number correctly and checked multiple times
I cannot afford to purchase an updated version nor Adobe Creative Cloud at this time
Someone please help!! I am very frustrated and the person on Adobe Chat said they do not offer any technical assistance for older products.... Any help is MUCH appreciated!!

Same thing happened to me, except I lost disk 2 and was told to go to the forums.. Seems Adobe isn't too great on their customer service or fixing issues.  The problem I was told, was that we have "Student" serials and the one from the download isnt a student version.
