Re: Using Socks to ftp
This is Socks 5 server. I have enabled all of them with and without
ssl
encryption. I am trying to authenticate to the socks gateway by using
the
fetch ftp progam for Mac. I have been successfull on a pc only when I
use
SSO, but that doesn't help with the Mac of course. The Mac Fetch
program
supports Socks 4 and Socks 5, I have been unsuccessfull with both.
Is there someplace that you have to specify the users to use the
Socks
gateway, if so why did the SSO work for the user that didn't work on
the
Mac or PC without SSO? Lastly, is there a certain syntax as to how
input
the socks username and password in the Socks enabled program?
Thanks

Yes, if access rules are enforced, you need an Allow rule for the
traffic.
If using user authentication, the access rule might also then work by
specifying user, group or container.

Unknown.

I rarely used it, but the NWADMN32 help file should give a working
example.

I am logging on to XI server from computer 1(thro SAP GUI),
<u><b>Sender communication channel :</b></u>
Transport protocol:FTP
Messsage protocol: file
<u><b>In FTP connection Parameters:</b></u>
Server: computer 1 IP address
port:21
User name and PW---> I have given computer 1 Username and password.

dushanthHi
Consider that I dont have FTP installed on my computer. According to this blog
/people/shabarish.vijayakumar/blog/2006/08/01/along-came-a-file-adapter-mr-ftp-and-rest-of-the-gang
I have configured.
In sender comm channel I have given Ipaddress of computer 1 (which has a file to be picked)
In Receiver Comm channel I have given IP address of computer 3 (in which file to be posted)
and computer 2 is the XI server
Computer 1 has FTP installed
1. XI server should have FTP installed or not ? IF yes is it FTP client or FTP server or Guild FTP (according to the blog is enough)
2. Computer 3 should have FTP installed or not ?
Please help me I am really confused.
Thanks

Trouble uploading website using iWeb 09 FTP
Hello All,
About 2 years ago I used iWeb to upload my website. At the time I had to use Website Maestro for the FTP. Recently I bought a new iMac and used iWeb 09 to change several things on my website.
I viewed all the videos on how to upload your site using the iWeb FTP and I even used the "test connection" button and it said it was great. So I went ahead and uploaded my site and iWeb 09 confirmed that everything was fine, but it didn't change my website. The old pages were still there.
I phoned my web hosting company (Host Papa) and they said iWeb 09 uploads the new pages to a folder in their cpanel and that I would have to log in to the cpanel and move folders around. I tried this but inside Host Papa's cpanel it was all greek to me. I phoned their help line and the guy switched all the files for me and the new pages published fine.
My question is why can't iWeb publish my site without me having to log into their cpanel to change folders around? I noticed on the iWeb 09 publish site I had filled in one bit of information incorrectly. Where it said "Directory/Path" I typed in www/ Their help desk said I should have typed in /public_html/ If I did this would this make a difference? Would it publish directly without me having to go into their cpanel?
Thanks for your help.
MikeThe old pages were still there.
Did you try clearing your browser's cache (CommandOptionE for Safari) and reloading the page? The site and index.html file probably should be uploaded to the public_html folder in your account.
I use WebSite Maestro and find it to be very good for uploading. You might try going back to that especially since iWeb's ftp client is posing problems. I would either try WSM or the free Cyberduck client.

Mainframe Integration using File Adapter (FTP Mode):: ftp commands
Hi,
We are trying to integrate with Mainframe system using File Adapter. (FTP mode). We are able to write the file to Mainframe system but not able to format it properly. We had to provide FTP parameter, <b>ftp.quote site recfm=fb lrecl=150</b>
As per SAP Note 801926 :: XI 3.0 File Adapter: Additional Parameters, the only parameter that can be used is <b>ftp.timeout</b>. Has anyone tried out using other FTP parameters? (like ftp.quote)
Any help is grealy appreciated.
Regards,
Siva MarananiI am looking at running some OS commands especially the QUOTE SITE FILENAME, and found this OSS note:
https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/841704
In this note it says...
"Note that for the File Adapter transport protocol "FTP", the operating system command is NOT executed on the FTP server, but on the server hosting the Adapter Engine." -

How to share external HDD using SFTP or FTP on Mountain Lion?
Hi,
I would like to know how to share my extrenal HDD connected to my iMac using SFTP or FTP. I have seen that it is possible on OSX 10.5 but not in 10.8.
Thanks.you could always download a free sftp server then you could make any drive external or internel avaible from ftp clinets
but imho it's a very odd way to want to share unless it's over the Internet then in all cases ftp and sftp the wrong solution
smd, airdrop and tons of others are more modern and faster and easier to share files between computers no matter the operating system -

Can latest TC BE USED AS A FTP server
Can the latest TC be used as a FTP server. I need to send video files from my Cctv DVR via FTP to my TC.
Many thanks
AshApple do not tell us why or why not, in any of their products.. so we really cannot answer that question.
FTP has never been available.. and with modern internet security risks, I expect it never to be. Even SFTP or some SSH variation.. nope.. because Apple do not want you to use the TC as anything but what they intend.. a backup location for Time Machine.
Good luck with finding alternative.. almost everything else on the market will have FTP. -
Problem using CLIENT_HOST to FTP files from forms 10g
Hi,
I'm trying to use forms 10g ODS & webutil on NT to allow a user to select a file on their machine or the network and transfer the file to a DB server. I want to transfer the file to the file system on the server NOT to a BLOB column on a table. I've used webutil (client_get_file_name) to display the dialog box and allow the user to select a file. This works fine. However, when I try to use CLIENT_HOST to FTP the selected
to the remote server it fails. I'm issuing the following
command from within forms:
CLIENT_HOST('CMD /C ftp -n -s:C:\test_ftp.txt');
Something tries to kick off and a grey area the size of a dos window flashes on to the screen for a couple of seconds but the FTP does not happen. The test_ftp.txt script is a simple ftp script that transfers one file and I know it works as I can run it successfully from DOS or NT command prompt.
Questions:
(1) Does anyone know how to pause the DOS window so you
can see what is actually happening ?
(2) Has anyone implemented FTP functionality
successfully using CLIENT_HOST in the same way that's
I'm trying ?
Any help would be appreciated.
Declan.Okay...
Try this. For testing put your command in a .bat-file. In this .bat-file spool the output to a text-file. I'm not sure about the spooling syntax under Windows, check the Windows documentation for that. Like:
ftp.bat
start spooling to ftp.out
cmd /c .... (your ftp commando line)
stop spooling
Perhaps the problem is that it doesn't find the ftp commando? Try hardcode the path like c:\windows\ftp ... etc! -
Filename for flat file using J2EE FILE FTP Receiver adapter
Hi there,
I am struggling to do the following:
I have a J2EE File receiver that sends a file with a specific name to a FTP destination. I define the target filename in my graphical mapping using certain criteria and a incremental number. In my adapter I use variable substitution to select that value in the payload as the filename. Up to this point everything works fine.
The problem is that I convert the payload to a flat structure using xslt before writing it out and because of that the adapter cannot find my value as defined in the variable I use for the name.
Now, obviously if I move the xslt module after the CallAdapter module, the file won't be converted to a flat structure.
Can anyone give me advice on how I can do the flat conversion <u>and</u> the specific filename from the payload?
Thanks in advance,
JohanHi,
Instead of using variable substitution, use adapter specific identifiers to set the file name in mapping.

Using ModificationTimeFormat in FTP adapter fails
Hi all,
I'm trying to use the minimum age for files read via FTP adapter. Logging into the FTP server and doing a 'ls -l' yields
150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for /bin/ls.
-rwxrwxrwx 1 owner group 3799676 Jun 26 15:24 big.xml
226 Transfer complete.
ftp: 136 bytes received in 0.02Seconds 8.50Kbytes/sec.
from which I deduct the format string "46,57,MMM dd HH:mm".
Now this fails with the following message in log.xml:
<MSG_TEXT>JCA: ORABPEL-11430
Error in listing files in the remote directory.
Unable to list file in remote directory.
Any ideas on how I can find more details on the cause ?Hi Diego,
Enable FINEST logging on the esb.server.service.impl.inadapter logger.
This will provide you with the date/time string the adapter is using the run your format string against.
You will see an entry in there along the lines of
JCA: MDTM command returned : 213 20080715005008
Most likely your format string should be "4,18,yyyyMMddHHmmSS"
Validate that it is infact correct, and modify accodingly.
Cheers,

To Get Dynamic filenames while using sync get FTP Adapter?
Instead of looping and getting filenames after file listing...
i am thinking to use flow N.instead of while loop after filelisting..
i am able to find, different file names in the assign activity, before the invoke activity which is assigned to Sync get adapter.
but the sync get adapter is getting same file names in all the parallel flows.
i can see it can successfully transfer one file, but fails with rest of those.
is there any possibility, to pass file names dynamically to the sync get adapter..I want to conform you again, i want to use FLOW N instead of while..
In whileloop the logic works fine, but when it comes to FLOW N , its failing

Verified FTP settings with my hosting at Godaddy. Adobe Muse CC (2014) says it can't sign in with the credentials provided. Therefore, I can't use the new In-browser editing feature. Is this a known issue?
There is a default port, for most of the FTP sverver, is 21(or 20 maybe), then you can access FTP with " ftp.your_domain".
But for some reasons, the hosting providers change the port to other number, 2100 for example, and the FTP address will be "ftp.your_domain:2100". In this case, you can upload your site to FTP in Muse, but u cann't login your FTP in Adobe® Muse™ CC In-Browser Editing ,because you cann't input the port number (:2100). -

Thanks for the reply.
As per client's requirement, we shouldn't be using java service for this functionality.
And as you said, the oracle adapters are not taking anywhere, but guess have no other choice..

How to use Wallets for FTP Adapter
Hi,
Can someone point to a document that shows how we can make use of wallets for FTP Adapter.
ThanksHi,
When you configure the Connection Factory for FTP Adapter in Admin Console, provide the following values for the attributes like the hostname, username, password, port and the path of remote location as where
you want to write the file in remote Server i.e., ftpAbsolutePathBegin. Please fill this
attribute with the path like /soa/ftp/file (example path). If you are writing to a remote FTP server you need to create a Connection factory for that as above.
Please try this and let me know...
Thanks,
N
