  • What HDDs are supported for Satellite 5100-201

    Hi!
My disk made some strange noises, maybe it have one foot in the grave...
Have latest bios 1.9. and original disk at 30GB.
Have an Hitachi 40GB I tried with, but notebook did not find it.
So I would like to know what disks and sizes that are supported for that model.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi
Very strange did you use a compatible 40GB HDD?
In my knowledge the notebook should be able to recognize the 40GB HDD.
As far as I know the 30 GB HDD which was installed is a Toshiba MK3017GAP and the computer supports a 20, 30, 40 or 60 GB HDDs.
I think these HDD should be compatible:
    Toshiba HDD2171B 40GB HDD
    HITACHI G8BC00009110 40GB HDD
    Toshiba HDD2183B 60GB
PS: The strange noise coming from the HDD could be the beginning of the end
    So make a data backup.

  • Win8 support for ThinkPad L520

Hi, I've been trying to get Win8 Consumer Preview to work on L520 with no luck.  Has anyone gotten it to work?
I notice that there is an entry for an L520 on the Beta Driver page (http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=HT072084), but the particular driver entry itself is 404 when you try to download it.  It has been in that state for at least two weeks.
Can someone from Lenovo look into when that will be fixed and the driver be available?  Thanks.

I have a L520 and didn't have any luck with the DP and CP...but finally the RP installed on it after flashing the BIOS to 1.17.

Is there an OpenGL Intel HD Graphics driver for the Satellite L650?

I've checked latest driver information on Toshiba support and this shows driver version 8.15.10.2086 as the latest, however with it already installed in the L650 I get this error when trying to run Minecraft.

  • Download support for Satellite 230CX

I can't find any downloads for a manual, drivers and BIOS updates for the Thoshiba Satellite 230
How do I enter the BIOS settings ?

    Hi,
you know the Satellite 230 is an old machine. You can find it in the download section of Toshiba's web page under: "Archive" - "Satellite-Archive".
To enter BIOS I think you have to hold down Esc or F2 during startup.

  • WXP support for Satellite L655D-133

I would like to buy A Toshiba L655D-133 but i need to know drivers are available for Windows XP if anyone knows i would be most grateful.

    Hello
Satellite L655D is preinstalled with Windows 7 as you can see on Toshiba website but thats no problem: If you have older applications they require Windows XP you can use the XP Virtualization mode on Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate.
For this virtualization mode, Virtual PC from Microsoft will be used and that means you have a real XP system for these programs they require it.
With other words there is no reason anymore to install XP instead Windows 7.
More information you can find on Microsoft website:

  • Need info about HDD support for Satellite 2800

    Hi!
What max HDD can I use in Satellite 2800-200
    Thanks .

    Hi there,
the biggest model of the 2800 series was delivered with a 30GB HDD. But I think maybe you can try a 40 or 60GB HDD.
The bad thing is that I cannot promise you, since the machine is a pentium 3 platform and I don´t really know how big they drives can be..
The most secure way is to buy a external USB-HDD and just put the data on it, but thats just my opinion.. ;)

  • Neer WXP RAID and SSCI driver for my Satellite C650-10K

Does anybody know where I can find the Raid and SSCI driver for my Satellite C650-10K?

    Hi buddy,
Are you sure that you need RAID or SCSI (not SSCI) driver for Satellite C650?
As far as I know this model doesnt support such hardware
I think you need drivers for SATA controller. This package is called Intel Storage Manager and can be downloaded on official Toshiba website.
Here is an interesting article about XP installation with SATA drivers:

  • Is my Satellite L350D-213 supported for TV output?

I'm not sure i'm able to display my laptop screen onto my TV, i'm a bit of a newbie to this sort of stuff :S
My laptop model is Toshiba Satellite L350D-213, if my laptop is not supported for it; is there any other way i could display it?
    Thanks,
    alexdarbon.

    Hi
It seems that your TV supports the s-video socket.
Therefore you could use a cable [VGA to S-Video|http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/61cIaRuNTZL._SL500_AA300_.jpg]
There is also an PC input socket available this means that you can connect the LCD as an external monitor to the notebook.
I think for this connection an VGA cable should be ok.
I would recommend visiting an electronic equipment dealer downtown and to ask for a right cable.

  • Satellite C650 - Lemonish?

I have a Toshiba Satellite C650 that I got as a Christmas gift in December. Everything worked fine with it until one day at the end of April. I used the computer in the morning, closed it, went to an appointment for about an hour. When I came home and opened it up again it was on a black screen with a blue box asking for a HDD/SDD Password, I tried every password I have ever used and nothing worked. I called Toshiba Tech Support and the woman told me it is a hardware issue, that the hard drive needed to be replaced and it is covered under the warranty.
I asked her if she was sure, because she had said the hard drive set up the password on it's own because it had been damaged. She said she was 100% sure that the hard drive can set up a password to protect itself if it breaks.
I sent in my laptop overnight to the Louisville address, via UPS go figure, UPS are the people who actually fix the laptops. So I paid them $100 to overnight it to themselves... That's a different story.
So a short while after I got the Unit received email from Toshiba, I got another email saying that because there is a HDD password, my repair is not covered under warranty. Now remember, that is the whole reason I sent it in to be fixed. But now they want me to pay $175.99 to get it fixed. I called and spoke to the Customer Relations department, they were ZERO help. The woman told me that there is NO way that the hard drive can set up a password on its own. That I MUST of set up the password and forgot and that because there is a password it is not covered. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and she actually said to me that "it is illegal for someone to come to my desk and use my phone." She REFUSED to let me speak to a supervisor and then when I told her I was going to complain to the BBB she said I was going to get her fired because she told me she was located in Utah and then hung up on me. I called back and spoke to someone else who told me that BIOS is a NEW system and that when the computer is first booted up that it prompts you to set up an HDD password, and if you don't set up the password then it wont start up. I told him that I have never had to do that with any of my computers that I have owned nor did it ask me to do that with this laptop. But he insisted that BIOS was new and it is a software issue so therefore it is not covered. Then I asked him why the computer would suddenly out of the blue ask me for a HDD password, he said because of a hard ware issue. So it is a hardware issue, yet it is not covered because Toshiba does not want to cover there mistakes with someones valid warranty.
So this is my question, has anyone else had an issue like this? I know BIOS is not new, but does anyone know why the laptop would of just suddenly asked for a HDD password, do you know if you must set up a HDD password when you forst boot the computer? Anyone had such a bad experiance with Toshiba customer relations?
Oh BTW, I paid just to get my laptop back that was 6 days ago, I called today and my repair is still on quote hold because no one told the repair depot that I paid. So now I have to wait another 10 business days for them to even fix it. I will never buy Toshiba again, not after being lied to and cheated out of $175.99.

Sorry to hear about all that trouble! Can you send me a PM with your name, case number, contact information, and laptop information (model number, model-part number, serial number if you have them)? I'd like to try to help. You can click my name to see my profile and then click the link on the right to send me a PM.

  • Windows 8.1 (64 bit) display driver for Satellite L630-12C SYSTEM UNIT

Hi I am looking for the Windows 8.1 (64 bit) driver for the display adapter on my Satellite L630-12C SYSTEM UNIT. The part number of the laptop is PSK04E-01W00FIT. The display adapter is ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5145 made by AMD. I have searched for the driver both the Toshiba and the AMD website but couldn't find anything that worked. Does a driver exists for this adapter for Windows 8.1 (64 bit) or do I have to roll back to Windows 7? I would greatly appreciate your help in this mattter. Thanks Hussain

    Hi.
In my Satellite C650-1CG (PSC14E-00G001AR) with XP*86 bit, "FN" key not working. I saw a lot of solutions here but unfortunately for Windows 7 i didn't see yet..
    pls help me

    Hi shamlic,
    > I saw a lot of solutions here
Yes, there are hundreds of threads here in forum about FN keys and as far as I know the problem could always be solved by reinstalling Value Added Package and Flash Cards Support Utility from official Toshiba European driver download page.
That means you have to remove the old versions first, then restart the computer and install the newest versions.

  • Satellite C650 Windows 7 64-bit video driver

I have removed the home edition of Widows 7 from a new Satellite C650 laptop so I can install Windows 7 Professional (I need to join a domain). I have all drivers installed as well as the BIOS 1.50 update, but the display driver fails to run with an error indicating the minimum requirements for the device have not been met.
What's this all about ? The driver I downloaded is from http://tinyurl.com/3yctbxm
    Full URL:
    http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=2777925& rpn=PSC08U&modelFilter=C650-ST2NX1&selCategory=2756709&selFamily=1073768663#
This driver is the only option available when filtering for Windows 7 64-bit.

Great. Support for European models is on European support page.
Problem is that many people check US page for European models and wondering why their notebook model is not listed there.
