Re: Windows XP and Satellite T110-11J

Hello,
on your computer Toshiba Satellite T110-11J I want to install Microsoft Windows XP. I wonder if the drivers installed on this website is for 32bit system or 64bit system.
Thank you for your answer

Hi
The Win XP 64bit was not really popular and mostly the 32bit version has been used the drivers are for 32bit OS but in some cases would work with 64bit

  • Windows XP and Satellite P200-1I4

    I wish to buy Satellite P200 1l4 (PSPB3).
But I do not like Windows vista and I wish installing Windows XP.
Whether there will be problems with installing WXP and adjustment of components (camera, sound, video etc)?

I didnt notice any serious problems with the XP on the P200 series.
Firstly you will have to install the SATA driver (Intel Matrix Storage Manger).
This driver is necessary to recognize the HDD during the XP setup procedure.
The Toshiba European deriver page provides all necessary XP drivers and tools for the P200 series.
So I would recommend following the installation order mentioned in the installation instruction txt file which can be found on the driver page too.
    Then everything should run smoothly
    Bye

    hi

I want to insatall a second Os which is Windows 2003
but while installing it, happend a problem and the gives me a blue screen with this message:
'hardware malfunction nmi parity check / memory parity error the system has halted'
Please tell me how i can install 2 Os xp home edition and Windows 2003
    thanks

    Hi
This error message can occur if a hardware component malfunctions, or if there are damaged or incompatible drivers installed.
To solve this problem remove any extra memory modules that are in the computer, leaving only the least amount that is required for the computer to start and run Windows. Restart the computer to see whether the error messages persist.
This issue was described on the Microsoft website.

  • Webcam on Satellite A500 using Windows 7 and Windows Live Messenger 2009 (14.0.8089.726)

Hello. This is my very first post and maybe I can find a resolution to the problem. Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you if you can assist me in resolving the problem.
I recently upgraded from Windows Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Home Premium using the Windows 7 Upgrade Media that was sent to me for my Toshiba Satellite A500. The upgrade loaded successfully. My laptop already had the Windows Live (MSN) Messenger on it when I was using Windows Vista and the webcam worked okay then. Now with Windows 7, when I try to do a voice/video chat using the Windows Live (MSN) Messenger version 2009 (Build 14.0.8089.726), my built-in laptop webcam does not work. When I initiate a voice/video chat, all I get is a big red X next to the webcam icon in the little view area window when it attempts to run. I can receive voice/video from people using MSN Messenger but my laptop can't send out any video. My laptop sends out voice but no video. I un-installed the Messenger, rebooted and re-installed it but it still won't do video output.
Interestingly, when I tried doing a voice/video chat with Gmail, my webcam worked. I haven't tried Yahoo yet. My webcam worked fine before upgrading to Windows 7. I suppose I could just forget about MSN Messenger and use Gmail but not all my contacts use Gmail. I'd like to be able to continue using MSN Messenger if possible.
So I'm posting here to see if there is any resolution or suggestions I can have to get my webcam working with Windows Live (MSN) Messenger. Not the end of the world if I can't make it work again.
    Have a nice day. Regards,
    Doug

  • Satellite T110-13R - Convert Windows 7 64bit into Windows XP

    Hi there,
Anyone having the experience to convert (or to erase the HDD totally) this computer into a well known and controlled Windows XP version?
    Thanks for your replies.

    Hi Xplover,
Yes, its possible to install Windows XP instead Windows 7. I have checked the Toshiba driver download page and according the different drivers it supports Windows 7 and Windows XP. You can get all drivers for both Windows versions
But before you install XP, you should create the Toshiba recovery disk if its not done. This disk contains an image of factory settings and can restore preinstalled Windows version every time. Its a bootable disk and easy to use.
Just start preinstalled Toshiba recovery disk creator and create the bootable disk or USB stick.
After this you can start with Windows XP installation. You should install XP with SP2 at least but I would recommend latest SP3 because it contains important security updates, etc. Then you can start with driver installation.
Maybe its useful so here is my installation order for XP on T110:
    Windows XP SP3
    Windows Updates
    TOSHIBA Hotkey Utility 3.1.0.5
    Sun Java2 Runtime Environment 1.6.0_14

  • Satellite T110-11U - WiFi works only in one room

Wifi on my LP used to work perfectly in each room of the house, but since I've installed Norton Antivirus it only works in my bedroom (where the router is) and nowhere else.
However, other laptops work ok in the other rooms. I thought is was because of Norton Antivirus and I reinstalled it, but this didn't help. It's already 3 months since then and my LP only gets the signal in my bedroom. So it's got a problem of getting signal even in about 3 meter distance. I've already checked the wireless router with the supplier and there is no problem with it. The problem is in my laptop. I updated drivers but no luck. I've got Toshiba Satellite T110-11U, Windows 7 Home Premium.
If anyone can give me any advice regarding this would be highly appreciated!

    Hi buddy,
Maybe there are still some registry keys of Norton Antivirus stored in Windows registry I would try a registry cleaner like CCleaner. This is really nice freeware tool to clean the registry.
What WLAN card driver is installed at the moment? Newest WLAN drivers can be downloaded here:

  • ODD on my Satellite L550-11J is damaged - looking for new suitable device

    hello,
the dvr device of my toshiba satellite L550-11J (bought in 2009) with windows vista 64 seems to be broken. it is a "pioneer dvd-rw dvrtd09a". it doesn`t show on windows anymore, not in the explorer, not in the device manager (if this s the english name of it, i don`t know, i am german speaking). it doesn`t even show in the bios or boot device, so i think it is not a software problem but the hardware is broken.
which new dvr device is suitable for my notebook? i cannot find the same dvr device on amazon or elsewhere to buy, so i guess i need another one that suits.please help.
    best wishes
    no-idea

    addendum:
sometimes, the dvr device is back for a little while, but 90% of the time it is not recognized. i guess it has a defective contact. i already took it out, blew into it and but it back in. no result. it has power and it can be opened and closed. cd`s that are put in are turning for a few seconds, than it stops.
when the device is gone, it cannot be found in the bios!!!

  • Re: Satellite T110 - Preloaded software isn't operating

    HI
I have a new Satellite T110/00D. (Windows 7) On say of initial operation it was fine but ever since will not laod any software that was on board. MS Office operates (which I downloaded) but internet explorer etc will not opens. The files are there on a drive search.
It wont even logg off. When you click on IE nothing happens, when you ask to shut down, screen says "logging off" then just hangs.

    Hi mate,
Maybe you have a virus on your notebook and so it doesnt start the software anymore. Are you using an AntiVirus software and did you run a scan?
At the moment I doubt that its a hardware malfunction so in worst case you have to reinstall the notebook using Toshiba recovery disk. It will wipe the whole HDD and restore factory settings.

  • Satellite T110 - WLan connection has recently stopped working

I have a Toshiba Satellite T110 with Windows 7 Home Premium.
The wireless connection has recently stopped working, with the yellow exclamation mark showing over the device symbol.
On looking at the driver management screen, the following message is shown.
"This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)"
Nothing I have tried seems to shake this error.
I tried the Toshiba assist diagnostic tool. It simply says the Wireless Connection failed its test.
I don't know how problem came about because the system worked for about three weeks without a hitch, but I would like to know if anyone else has any experience at solving this problem.
I could try a rebuild, but I'd prefer not to loose my OS.

Yes, I downloaded the driver, and re-installed it so it over wrote the existing driver and the WLAN came back and works OK, using it now.
THis issue was more complicated than I initially thought and I pass it on to help/warn others.
All my LAN connections were lost, while I was using a public open connection. I suspect a virus. I still have parts of the LAN hardware out, but not stuff I am currently using.
The Toshiba recovery options were in fact quite limited, without an ability to access all the dud drivers, other than each by hand. A painful process.
THanks for your help. Another 'gator sunk.

    -power options: max performance
-even in all power options, i set max performance for the wireless adapter settings, on battery, too
-properties of the wlan card in device manager, i disabled the option : allow the computer to turn off this device to save power
-in the same window, advanced, 802.11d activated
well, despite of the fact, that i have this issue on my home network AND on other networks, i tried following things on my router at home:
    -firmware updated
    -device reset
-no automatic ip (dont know the correct english term) - this i set on my laptop, too
    -wlan changed to 802.11 b, g, b and g, also tried wep

  • Qosmio G30-126: how to connect analog TV and satellite TV simultaneously

Hi, I have a Qosmio G30-126 and have a problem with simultaneous receiving analog TV (by TV-in port in built-in TV tuner) and satellite channels from satellite set-top-box (by AV-in ports).
I can programm Windows Media Center for analog TV (but without satellite STB) by antenna TV-in port and it works perfectly.
I can programm Windows Media Center for digital channels from satellite STB (but without analog TV) by AV-in ports and it works perfectly.
But i can't program Windows Media Center for both analog TV i satellite STB, because during programming WMC forces me to choose between analog TV or satellite decoder and doesn't allow me to choose two signal sources.
For me it is a big problem, because I have cable TV (analog) and satellite STB with digital channels. And I want to watch on my Qosmio all channels.
    Could anyone help me?

    >... because during programming WMC forces me to choose between analog TV or satellite decoder and doesn't allow me to choose two signal sources.
I think in this statement you answered your question. I had Qosmio G30 long time ago and i also know that WMC cannot handle with two signal sources at the same time.
To confirm this contact Microsoft and ask them. I mean they have designed WMC and know how it works exactly.
Toshiba has just offered proper hardware (TV tuner) to offer TV option on this notebook.

  • Drivers error recovering Windows Vista on Satellite A200

    Hello,
I replaced the HD of my Toshiba Satellite A200. I replicate the original disk partitioning in the new disk and installed the original SO (Windows Vista) from the recovery disk.
Everything went well. However, when I started Windows for first time, it was unable to end the autoconfiguration phase. An error message appeared on the screen: it had been unable to find all the drivers that it needs.
After accepting the error message, windows rebooted the system without giving me any chance.
Can anyone tell me what went wrong with the Windows recovery process?
How can I add the drivers needed or skip the autoconfiguration process to do it later?

    > {quote:title=JoeLouis wrote:}{quote}
    > >Does anyone know if there is any chance to interrupt Toshiba recovery process or windows autoconfiguration process to load a specific driver?
    >
    > No, if you want to add the driver while windows installation and setup process, you have to use an Microsoft Windows disk Toshiba recovery disk contains an image which is NOT the same like a common installation disk!
That's completely right. However, after copying the image to the HDD, the system reboots and loads Vista for first time. Then, the system starts a non-interactive autoconfiguration process (it shows a label similar to "Please, wait...").
Eventually, it shows an error message and shuts down.
This leads me to think that the image copy process went well (the system loads without trouble) but then Windows loads a wrong driver to manage the HDD and crashes.
I would like to know if I can change any option in a configuration file (after copying the image in the HDD and before loading the OS for first time) to make this process interactive or to load a different set of drivers to manage the HDD. Does anyone have a clue?

  • Is it possible to install Windows 7 on Satellite Pro 6100

Is it possible to install windows 7 on a Toshiba Satellite pro 6100 machine? I 'm currently using windows XP.
    thanks.

    Hi buddy,
Do you really think about Windows 7 installation on many years old Satellite Pro 6100???
In my opinion this will not work because its too old and not fast enough. Newest OS that is supported from Toshiba is Windows XP and this should be the best choice for this oldie.
So just be satisfied with Windows XP, its a good choice for older computers! :)

  • Can't install windows XP on Satellite Pro A200-1N2

    hi,
I have a Toshiba Satellite A200-1N2 PSAE3E and I don't want Vista on my laptop. i downgraded the bios to V5.30 But still can't install windows xp and from the bios still there is no optin for SATA.
    Can anybody help me?
    Thanks.

    Hi
Did you install the SATA drivers firstly?
You need this driver to recognize the HDD!
You should download the Intel Matrix Storage Manager. You should find it either on the Toshiba driver page or on the Intel website.
You must perform the installation from an external USB FDD drive using the F6 button while the Win XP setup.
