Re: Windows xp crash on startup

Hi,
Today trying bootup up my laptop it crashes while windows tries to load. I tried to boot up it in safe mode but it still crashing.
Thank you for your time and help,

Hi,
Who knows what's wrong with your Windows Xp. it looks like the corrupted bootmanager. The easiest way is to reinstall Windows with a recovery disk (Hdd image F8)> if you don't have, you can order from Toshiba or install from win copy disk and drivers:

    Hi,
Please try to delete user information from Registry with the following path:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync\[email protected], then restart Lync client to test the issue again.
Also, check if there is any duplicate copies of Lync updates on the issued computer. If that is the case, please remove the duplicate, restart Lync client to test again.

  • Why does my Dreamweaver 8 on Windows 7 crash on startup?

I have deleted the .dat file and renamed the Configuration folder, but to no avail.

Jon, Thank you for responding. I don't know what CS4, CS5, CS5.5 or CS6 are, however, I have managed to solve the problem by stopping the program from searching when it creates a new Configuration folder. This one extra step fixed the issue. There was no need to restore preferences.

  • Any Mozilla product I install crashes at startup. The first window I see when I open a Mozilla product is the crash reporter. I have tried every possible solution but cannot open anything. It started with firefox. Can anyone please help?

Hi there, as the question says, I cannot open any Mozilla product. I have tried to install firefox 3.6, older versions of Firefox, Firefox 4.0, Sea Monkey, Thunder Bird and Sun Bird. I have the same problem everytime. I open any of these programs and the first and the only window that appears is the crash reporter. I've tried opening it in Safe Mode and the same occurs. I have tried entirely uninstalling the products incuding the registry keys but no help. I shall post the detailed error reports, if they help solving this issue. Can you kindly look into this and find a solution as I use all of these Mozilla products and my life has been a hell since they've ben down.

Video driver in the image was originally out of date, changed the driver to the latest and greatest available straight from Intel for the Intel HD 3000 graphics card and this error still appears.  Driver 9.17.10.3517 exceeds the minimum requirement
for Lync 2013.  The faulting module is related to the graphics driver, but reinstalling does nothing, uninstalling and then reinstalling does nothing, it cannot further be upgraded.  This same error affects all the Dell latitude e6520's.  It
also only occurs in Windows 8.1.  The windows 7 image using the exact same driver version (both the outdated driver and latest driver) works just fine with Lync 2013.
Running Lync with administrative permissions does nothing, disabling hardware acceleration did nothing.  None of our laptops come with the bluetooth adapter, and also updated all other drivers such as chipset and soundcard.  Error occurs on the
RTM version of Lync, and Lync with SP1 fully updated.  The rest of Office 2013 works fine.  I am currently at a loss here short of telling the help desk to not image E6520's with Windows 8.1 because Lync 2013 doesn't work on it.  But there has
to be a reason for it.  Calling out for some suggestions here.
    Thanks!

We also have the same issue with Dell E6420 running Windows 8.1. Lync application does not respond after start-up. Did you try looking for the error file under
    C:\users\username\appdata\local\Microsoft\Windows\WER\Reportarchive
it should create file like AppHang_lync.exe_some numbers. search for the latest one.
Interesting, I don't have any 6420's handy but figured the issue would exist on those also.  I looked up the location you mention and see many crash logs for Lync.  Not really sure what the error is, just says it stopped working.

I'm running Windows 8 64-bit, but Office 32-bit for compatibility reasons. Office 2010 and Lync 2010 worked beautifully. Other Office 2013 applications work fine. Lync 2010 client works fine as well. Only see this problem with Lync 2013.
Any ideas how to troubleshoot or correct?

    Hi,
Have you tried to remove Lync 2010 client and test it again?
How about the other machines? Please also log on the problem machine with another account and test it.
Please try to disable any local antivirus software to see if that fixes the issue.
Please remove Silverlight and reinstall it:

  • Itunes crashing on startup - Windows 8.1

Hi since upgrading to Windows 8.1 I've had nothing but problems with itunes.  Since downloading the latest Microsoft release for 8.1 my Itunes constantly crashes on startup. I've tried removing and reinstalling itunes, still didnt work. I then  tried running itunes in various compatibility modes eg windows 7 etc, still not working.  To be honest I feel this is a poor show that two major worldwide programs fail to work together on Windows 8.1.  Any help in getting itunes to work would be gratefully received. Thanks J

Have you gotten any help with this issue anywhere else?

  • InDesign CS6 crashes at startup after windows 7 update

InDesign crashes at startup after windows 7 update: Faulting module path: C:\Windows\system32\MSVCR100.dll (Microsoft Visual C runtime and update KB2538243 and KB2565063)
    Reinstalling did not help
Also Adobe Encore CS6 seems to be affected

I looked at the recovery files in:
    C:\Users\MyName\AppData\Local\Adobe\InDesign\Version 8.0\en_US\Caches\InDesign
I deleted all the files and Indesign started up fine.  feeling good I closed Indesign and restarted.
    Indesign Crashed again.
Deleted all files again and reloaded.
I went to "Edit:Preferences:File Handling:Document Recovery Data"  to:
    G:\Adobe\Indesign\Cache\Recovery
Interestingly, the Indesign application recovery files still reside in the user directory above.   But the document recovery data moves to the G drive above.
There is no clear reason why Indesign quit loading today.  It worked fine since initial installation last year.  But separating the document recovery data from the application recovery data seems to fix the problem for now.

  • Skype 7.6 crashes on startup Windows 8.1

Hello, I've been having this problem for over a week, have searched these forums and have tried multiple solutions that have been posted on different threads regarding skype crashing on startup, but to no avail. When I start up skype, I get the spinning wheel and then a message that says "Skype has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly, etc." I have tried reinstalling skype, installing various versions, and nothing seems to work. I'm running IE11 with default settings and my Adobe Flash is up to date. To expedite this process, I have ran the dxdiag.exe and have attached a .zip of the file. Also, I booted my computer in safe mode and tried running Skype 7.6, and got this specific error message. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Kevin

Please,  run the DirectX diagnostics tool. Go to Windows Start  and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post. Be aware that you will have to zip this file before attaching it here.

Only I upgraded to firefox 4 while it was in beta and never had any problems like this. It took the final version to have problems. I truly miss my Firefox 4.
it crashes on start up with tabs open. sometimes i can tell it not to open my tabs and it'll run until I open up some tab that causes things to crash. but once it crashes it wont run until i close all the tabs. but on other occassions it just crashes.
    thanks

  • After installing Windows XP SP3, iTunes and Quicktime crash at startup

I use iTunes almost every day, and until now have had almost no problems. But as of Sunday afternoon 5/11/2008, I found iTunes crashed on startup. Soyon after, I discovered Quicktime had the same problem. For both apps, I tried rebooting, upgrading, uninstalling/reinstalling, running Norton 2008 virus scan and registry cleaner. Same problem no matter what I did.
I just noticed, though, that my Windows Update (which I have naively set to automatic) history shows that, on that same day, it automatically installed Windows XP SP3. Coincidence... hmm.
So while I patiently wait for the uninstaller to complete the removal of SP3, I'm wondering if anyone else has had similar problems.

Great link, thanks for posting it. I followed the advice therein, but unfortunately it didn't help. For the record, here's what I've done recently:
    0) Removed SP3.
    1) Removed all of the following:
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Apple Airport Express
    Apple Software Update
    Bonjour
    Quicktime
    iTunes
    2) Deleted all remaining folders related to the above apps from c:\Program Files.
    3) Ran Norton 360 (2008) registry cleanup.
    4) Ran Norton 360 (2008) virus scan (nothing found).
    5) Deleted the following folders (Angela is the user account):
    c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Apple
    c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Apple Computer
    c:\Documents and Settings\Angela\Application Data\Apple
    c:\Documents and Settings\Angela\Application Data\Apple Computer
    c:\Documents and Settings\Angela\Local Settings\Application Data\Apple
    c:\Documents and Settings\Angela\Local Settings\Application Data\Apple Computer
    6) Rebooted.
    7) Downloaded and installed iTunes 7.6.2.
    8) Rebooted (just coz I love rebooting).
    9) Tried to execute iTunes, get error dialog: "QuickTime Player has encoutered a problem and needs to close."
    10) Tried to execute QuickTime, get same dialog.
At this point I'm thinking I've got a bad DLL under c:\Windows...

  • Labview 2010 crash at startup windows 7

    Hi,
Labview crashes on startup. I get this message: "Labview 10.0 Development System has stopped working." I don't get any further than this.
I have 95 computers running Windows 7 64-bit Enterprise. To install Labview on these I use the automated installer with these options: "/q /acceptlicenses yes /r:n /applyspecfile k:\zfdmsi\Labview2010\yellow1\".
This was working on Windows XP. I have tried to install Labview manually on one of the windows 7 computers and it works fine.. But I cant do that on 95 computers...
    Any ideas why it's crashing?
    Thanks in advance.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Yes, m: is a network drive. We have a local policy on all workstations redirecting My Documents to the M: drive.
I got the issue resolved by installing Labview 2010 SP1

  • Windows 7 Crash (Blue Screen) with Skype 6.18 on H...

    Hi,
I think a lot of people are having the same problem with Skype 6.18 on HP Pavilion notebooks.
Windows 7 crashes during the auto-update or installation of 6.18
After about 3-4 hours of troubleshooting the Blue Screen / service exception error (in ks.sys) I discovered that it's caused by the HP HD Webcam [Fixed] driver (version is 6.0.1113.1 released 2012-11-20 (or 20-11-2012)).
The driver is written by Sonix and is unlikely to be updated. So you have the choice of going back to an older version of Skype or disabling the webcam / driver through Device Manager. As soon as you disable the driver / device Skype will install / start - but of course you won't be able to use video during Skype calls.
Hopefully Microsoft / Skype will fix the driver incompatibility in a future release.
Skype Support - the issue is with the HP / Sonix driver - file is snp2uvc.sys
There are similar issues reported with a previous version of the HP HD Webcam driver as well (SPUVCBv_x64.sys).
Please fix it. I'd like to use video in calls again!

The best working solution at this time is to download and install Skype 6.14 and disable updates.  If you still get prompts to upgrade you can ignore them and the program should continue to function as it has not been retired as of yet.  Hopefully there will be a resolution in a future Skype update or an updated driver from HP that might resolve the issue.
