  • Which Drivers Needed for SATA setup

I'm having a new Western Digital SE SATA 200GB HDD installed tomorrow(Tuesday).
So far I've located the Nvidia floppy for SATA RAID.
I've noticed that there is a downloadable file of 487KB that does the same thing.
What I need to know is....will the floppy start me off: ie can I use  it to install after I hit the F6 button.
If not I can easilly download the file onto a floppy I have ready.
I appreciate that some of the moderators may be busy, or otherwise occupied but since it is 10.02pm here and almost near kip time , a reply before then would be worth its weight in gold
    Thanks

He is right Charlie.  This is some further info.
Here is how to install Windows on a SATA boot drive: (This procedure has been used by many including my self to solve the same problem.)
    - Have only the SATA drive you want to be the boot drive in your system.  Disconnect the power to all other HDD's if any.
    -  Have only one optical drive. Disconnect the power to the other optical if any.
    -  Plug SATA drive into SATA 1  (it may show us as an IDE drive somewhere down the list in BIOS.  That's okl)
    -  Enable appropriate SATA options in BIOS.  Set boot order to floppy, cd, SATA drive.  Set boot priority to SATA drive.
    -  Partition and format using the utilites CD that came with the SATA drive.  (copy any files you need from this drive to a back up drive)
    -  Run Windows setup.  No need to do the F6 thing unless you are planning to do a RAID configuration.
    -  Windows should install just fine
    -  After you are up and running, plug power back into your other drives if any.
I hope this works for you.

  • Make older drivers available for downl

Creative, seeing that you really can't make drivers (or are intentionally making them **** to force people to buy?future shoddy goods), can you make it possible to download the two older drivers, because even though they are diabolical, I prefer the older drivers to the newer performance killers.

Never mind, blind as a bat. This thread can be deleted. [ ---EDIT--- ]?Scrap that, I just looked at the sticky links, and saw that there is no 28 Dec or 8 March drivers. Any chance of making these available again?!Message Edited by N-TWO-O on 03-7-200704:44 PM

  • Are Drivers Available for Windows Vista Beta

I have a Audigy 2ZS platinum sound card and can not get it to work with Windows Vista Beta . Does anyone know where I can obtain drivers for this OS, or is there ant work around for this problem?
    Thanks for any help, Li'vermaggot

Thanks for your answer John. I reworded my search last night and found the same post. I emailed Creative Developer Network as was suggested at the bottom of the post and received the info from Creative today. Basically, XP drivers will work with Vista, however 3D and a few other items will not work with Vista until Creative comes out with beta drivers for Vista.
I would imagine that Creative will wait a bit before developing or releasing drivers as the Enterprise version of Vista is the only one near general release for next summer. At this time Microsoft still does not know what retail versions will be released, ie: Home, Pro, Media Edition...
    Thanks again, LM

  • HP Scanjet 8250 No Drivers available for Snow Leopard 6.3.1 Help!

    Hello:
I wanted to know if anyone else using Snow Leopard 6.3.1 has run into a problem using the HP Scanjet 8250 Scanner? HP does not have drivers for this unit and does not plan on having them any time in the near future. If you know of a third party site that has drivers for it and works, please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Steve

    I can confirm TeenTitan's experience.
On a clean install of 10.6.4 I installed the SANE packages referenced above.
    I then downloaded and installed:
HP Photosmart Studio: includes support for Mac OS X v10.4 and v10.5 (Leopard) v1.0 8 Feb 2008
(a newer version than referenced by TeenTitan)
The HP installer listed the correct scanner series and allowed the install to complete. After the install, but before the reboot, I received an error about /System/Library/Extensions/hpPlugInInit.kext not being installed correctly. The permissions were incorrect, so I did a chown root:wheel on the file and the error didn't return. For what it's worth, this same kext is a PPC kext and doesn't appear in the Extensions list of System Profiler.
So far, the only oddity I've noticed is that the pre-scan appears garbled at first. Once the scanner cycle completes, the pre-scan refreshes and looks normal. I've done several scans to PDF and the IRIS OCR looks to be working fine as well.
Thanks TeenTitan. I was going to go with SANE and the Scan Again GUI, not even imagining that HP's software would be able to work with SANE.

No, you do not need a driver if your operating system is Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7. The drivers that are needed to connect most Sony® cameras to a computer are already built into the operating system on your computer.
    IMPORTANT:
Some cameras do not support a USB connection to computers running Windows 7 or Windows Vista operating systems.
If you are having problems with Picture Motion Browser (PMB) or have lost your disk, no problem. You can now download and install the full version of PlayMemories Home (this replaces PMB) at http://www.sony.net/pm.
USB compatibility with Windows Starter Edition is not supported.
In some rare cases, the USB connection from the camera may not be recognized by the computer.

  • No Resource Drivers available for Mirrored File Folders

    Hi All,
I'm playing with our Teaming 2.1 system, and have got the server mounting
a couple of NSS volumes by NCP. They appear as /mnt/nwb and /mnt/nwc on
the Teaming server. However, when I come to set up the Mirrored File
Folder (Manage -> Modify this folder) the Resource Driver drop-down menu
is inactive and has no contents. How can I fix this, and what went wrong?
    Cheers,

  • Drivers download for Windows 10

I am so disappointed in HP's response to the roll out of Windows 10.  There are no driver downloads for Windows 10 and although I do not feel Microsoft did a grerat job on their roll out regarding their Technical support I am still without my CD, my Kodak camera and had great difficulty getting my printer to work.  All my equipment is HP and here I sit dead in the water with some of my issues.  Was told to wait a month and check HP again for their new driver down loads. I just did the auto driver update download which scans the system that reported no issues were found.  It was Windows 7 check.  It should have acknowledged that nothing was available for Windows 10 and when it should be expected. I understand from Microsoft Dell, Acer and others had all their drivers available for the Windows 10.  Supposdely all mfg. received the software in June to give them time to produce their drivers.SHAME ON HP!!!!MC-Arizona

So I have the Aspire M3970 as well. I applied for the Windows 10 upgrade, and it comes back saying I'm totally compatible. Install and any connection via the Internet to Micosoft programs (Edge, Search, Store, Windows update, etc.) doesn't work. Yet Chrome and Vista do work fine. Contact Microsoft and have a tech work on my system for a couple of hours and can't fix, then books an appointment for an escalated tech to work on it. He plays around for an hour tonight and then tells me that my computer doesn't have the drivers. Then...here is the kicker, I ask him to revert me back to Window 8.1 which you have 1 month to do so, and the message comes up that the files have been overwritten. Now I'm being told by Acer that I'm not entitled for support, being told by Microsoft to wait for Acer to fix the drivers but the can install Windows 8.1 but I will lose my bought and paid for Office Professional 2010. Is everybody just turnig a blind eye to customers for years to their products?
