  • Tom's Hardware released USB 3.1 testing results on MSI X99A GAMING 9 ACK

    Tom’s Hardware released a test result of MSI motherboard and USB 3.1 device. It mentioned that there is an ASMedia ASM1352R controller on X99A GAMING 9 ACK to support two USB 3.1 ports on I/O interface.

    Results: USB 3.1 VS. USB 3.0
    ASMedia is the only company ready with USB 3.1 and Intel isn’t planning to build the technology into its chipsets any time soon. Neither Broadwell’s nor Skylake platform supports native USB 3.1. Moreover, MSI is the first company to announce its motherboard with USB 3.1 feature. MSI X99A GAMING 9 ACK will undoubtedly be a $400+ motherboard like X99S GAMING 9 ACK before it. Any users who want to enjoy the newest technology can choose MSI X99A motherboard to have the best using experience.

  • X99A Gaming 7 vs X99A SLI Krait

    I can't find a difference other than color.  Are there any other differences between these two motherboards?
    Oddly enough, both work with my color scheme, (Black/Red/White).  I noticed the Krait retails slightly cheaper.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    I'll compile a list of differences as they are reported.
    1) Color (Gaming 7 Red/Black)(Krait White/Black)
    2) Gig Ethernet (Gaming 7 Killer)(Krait Intel)

    Wow, thank you for the comprehensive list.  Given the small difference in price, I ordered the X99A Gaming 7 Motherboard.
    Edit/Update:  It doesn't look like i have the ability to edit my first post so i won't be updating the initial list.  I doubt there are any other differences than what you highlighted so their being on the second entry shouldn't be a problem.
    Once again thanks.

    Check Windows settings. If everything is working fine (all tests) then issue must be within games or Windows itself.
    Are you able to try different headset?

  • X99A Gaming 7 Sound Issues

    I recently built a system with X99a Gaming7 mobo, everything was fine for a week or so.  Now for some reason my headphones are not working properly.  They sound ok in test in both realtek audio mgr and sound blaster cinema 2, but in game (cs:go, witcher 3) not so good.  Missing footsteps, mic from other players, guns sound muted, etc.  The theme music in menu is fine.  I've tried many different things in cinema and realtek audio mgr, reinstalled both, from disk and realtek website.  Thing is since everything worked fine as I plugged them in, I'm not exactly sure what the settings were originally.  The only thing i can think of is I tried plugging in a mic but then removed it.   I just want my sound back the way it was.  running win 8.1, any help would be appreciated, thankyou

  • MSI GTX970 Gaming 4G issue

    hi guys, was after a bit of help/advice.
     I swapped out my gigabyte GTX770 4gb O/C card for a new MSI GTX970 Gaming 4G card yesterday.
     At the same time I decided to do a clean installation of drivers and update to new 344.48 drivers.
     I uninstalled the 344.16 drivers and used driver sweeper as normal to clear out old NVidia files.
     I then tried to install the new 344.48 WHQL drivers from the nvidia site and I got a security warning stating the driver install could not proceed as the driver wasn't digitally signed
     I downloaded a new version of 344.48 from the nvidia website and this time the driver installed.
     However, when I tried to play the a game of BF4 or borderlands, I get an APP Crash error and the game freezes.
     I have just done a clean installation of windows in case I had corrupt anything during card swap over, and once again downloaded a fresh version of 344.48 WHQL and once again its telling me the driver is not digitally signed and I cant proceed with installation.
     I have managed to get the older 344.16 driver installed at the moment, but I haven't a clue what is causing this. I have yet to test the games after the clean windows install, but I have feeling they are going to crash again.
     I hope I don't have to RMA this card ;/
     My build: -

     MSI GTX970 Gaming 4G GPU

    I'd try to update the motherboard bios as well. http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4481#bios
    cheers guys, I just flashed to latest F10b bios and changed pci-e slot from gen3 to auto in bios, running borderlands now for last 30mins in OC mode on card and no crashes or app hangs
    fingers crossed, this has resolved the crash issues.....still doesn't explain why the latest Nvidia drivers are saying I cant install due to no digital signature.
    I will try to update to latest 344.48 later and see what happens, don't want to mess too much at the moment as I've only just got this card stable....fingers crossed ;p
    thanks for your help guys

  • RosettaNet 3A4C ack issue

    Hi All,
    We are having an issue with RosettaNet 3A4C acks. The 3A4R goes out to trading partner okay, the 3A4R ack from trading partner is processed successfully. The 3A4C from the trading partner is okay. However, the trading partner is not able to process the 3A4C ack sent to them. According to the trading partner, the service header contains incorrect duns number - the KnownInitiatingPartner DUNS in the ServiceHeader should be the same for all four messages and it should be for the one used in the 3A4R. Oracle integration B2B sends the trading partner DUNS in the 3A4C ack service header and not the host DUNS.
    <KnownInitiatingPartner>
    <PartnerIdentification>
    <domain>
    <FreeFormText>DUNS</FreeFormText>
    </domain>
    <GlobalBusinessIdentifier>123456789</GlobalBusinessIdentifier>
    </PartnerIdentification>
    </KnownInitiatingPartner>
    Page 28 in the RNIF V02.00.00 Specification indicates the "Known Initiating Partner" should contain "A known partner initiating this PIP instance, with whom the responder has a valid TPA." Is the "known partner initiating this PIP instance" the one sending initial the 3A4R or the one sending the 3A4C? If former case, then is this a bug in Oracle iB2B?
    Thanks in advance,
    Suresh

    Hi Ramesh,
    Following is the response from the trading partner:
    "RosettaNet specifications state "KnownInitiatingPartner should contain the GlobalBusinessIdentifier of the partner initiating the business process. TPA has been established for this party." If you see the 3A4 Purchase Order Request, 3A4 Purchase Order Request Acknowledgement, 3A4 Purchase Order Confirmation messages in the ServiceHeader - Known Initiating Partner - PartnerIdentification - GlobalBusinessIdentifier, it contains the DUNS - 806669788. The 3A4 Purchase Order Confirmation Acknowledgement message (which is failing inthe RNIF Adapter) has a value of 254047488 for this field. This is resulting in a situation where the RNIF Adapter is not able to correlate the message to the original context.
    I believe this value has to be corrected by your partner who is sending the Receipt Acknowledgement."
    I have sent you a copy of the RNIF 2.0 spec via e-mail.
    Thanks,
    Suresh

  • Msi 270x gaming flicker issue - vbios request+tutorial

    Hello,
    I bought  a MSI Radeon 270x 2GB Gaming ED and I have downloaded latest driver and i still have a flicker issue in games, in dark spots.
    Can you help me with vbios and all steps?

    >>This<< is the latest so far.
    Create a bootable usb stick (https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=165175.0).
    Then unpack the previously provided archive (102.rar) and put the included file (TV303MH.102) on that stick.
    Rename TV303MH.102 to 102.rom. Put the atiflash.exe also included in the archive on the USB stick too. Now boot from the stick.
    Type atiflash -p -f -noaper 0 102.rom [ENTER] and let it flash the vbios.

  • Re: Qosmio xX770-11W - gaming performance issues

    Hello
    I bought a Qosmio x770-11w and I have some bad fps in nearly every game I played. Even in games wich work well at my 3 years old Desktop PC. Some examples are: Left 4 Dead 2, The Witcher 2, Starcraft 2, Trine, The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim and many more.
    In some games like Skyrim it doesnt even matter which graphic options I choose.
    Do you have any idea what's the problem?

    Hi AluinKali
    Here is a thread about the same theme.
    http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=63615
    It seems that BIOS downgrade to version V1.10 might help to solve the fps issue while gaming but not sure if this would be a real solution since the graphic card temperature might increase to a higher level.

  • MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G Issues & BIOS Update

     bios.zip (136.34 kB - downloaded 37 times.)
    Hello,
    ever since I bought my GTX 970 I've had about 5 BSOD's while playing CS:GO and GTA:V. I am not sure whether it's a GPU issue or not, but I never had that issue before (at least with CS:GO).
    Tech specs:
    MB: z87-pro
    CPU: i7-4770K
    GPU: MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G
    OS: Win7 x64 SP1
    latest OS updates
    latest nVidia drivers
    I've been wondering if there's a BIOS update for my GPU? I also tried just today to download MSI Live Update 6 but after executing the installer it displays "This application does not support this platform."
    I've attached my GPU Bios.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi
    With LiveUpdate, don't worry. Many users got issue with it, I believe MSI is aware of this already.
    Is your motherboard running latest BIOS?
    Is it known to work fine with other graphics card??
    Do you have any OC on your CPU/RAM? (RAM OC=more than 1600MHz). Remove and try again.
    What did the BSOD say? Error code?
    Heya, thanks for the reply.
    That's good to know for Live Update, just wanted to let you know. Before my GTX970 I was using an Asus GTS 450 (I know, lame) and used integrated graphics a couple of times but never had BSOD's during games with either of those. I didn't take a note of the BSOD error code, can I find a log somewhere on my system to upload it?
    OC-wise everything is running on stock clock, BIOS is also latest version (2103, according to Asus).

  • MSI R9 280X Gaming 6GB Issue

    I've purchased this card about a month ago from Newegg and it's been great so far.  The only problem that i have is when navigating through windows.  Maybe it's just from using my browser but I've notice the screen to flicker when i'm in the browser scrolling or watching videos.  I have turned off hardware acceleration, used MSI drivers, beta drivers, and the latest drivers but this still happens from time to time.  I don't think the card is an issue itself because i do not notice this when I'm in game.  I believe the R9 280x 6GB that i have comes with the latest vbios already so i am not too sure if MSI currently has anything to remedy this issue.  Apparently this has been an ongoing issue with R9 cards.  So not sure if it is the R9 line of cards itself, the drivers provided by AMD, or the bios installed on the cards.  RMA won't fix this issue as it is a widely known problem throughout all manufacturers of this line of cards.

    Yeah, I got the same issue. Windows 8.1Pro (64bit).  Same card (6GB).
    If I'm on the desktop and I leave a game running in the background and sometimes when using the browser displaying videos and/ or flash video ads, I get what looks like a screen shift.  The picture flickers or jars upward/ downward. It reminds me of something you might have seen on an old CRT monitor when you hit the degauss button, but not quite as bad. It's like some kind of vertical screen refresh or something and looks like someone smacking your monitor from the top while you are using it. The only way I know how to fully re-produce it, at will, is by running my Unigine Valley benchmark in the background and then proceeding to do things on the desktop.  It's definitely not heat related because my GPU temp can be at 33c or lower and still doing it. If I leave my Elder Scrolls Online game running in a background, depending on what's happening in the game, it can do it in this scenario too.

  • Z87-GA-45 GAMING Boot issues.

    Hello all, I'm back in the forums again lol
    I have as the title suggests, a Z87 GA45 GAMING motherboard. It really dislikes my Samsung 840 EVO 500gb. It constantly says there's no bootable media, or that my boot drive is damaged.
    Now, one would assume the SSD is broken. So did I, I RMA'd the SSD (which was only a few months old at the time) and now have another new 840 EVO. Same thing is happening and I doubt I would have gotten 2 duds.
    Rest of my specs;
    CPU - i5 4670. Has been clocked at 4.5ghz, it's clock speed seems to have no baring on whether it boots or not.
    RAM - 8GB Geil RAM, 8 GB Gskill. Both 1600mhz
    HDD - 2TB, non bootable
    SSD - 500gb 840 EVO, bootdrive. 418GB free
    PSU - 850W Antec Signature
    GPU - Gainward Phantom GTX780
    Case - Lian Li PCX2000
    Motherboard bios version - 1.9
    I'm currently downloading windows 8.1 as I lost my boot drive to attempt to repair. I did this last time and it didnt help, but can't hurt.
    Boot order stuff -
    UEFI + Legacy mode
    Not using RAID or IDE. It's set to AHCI off memory (I cant risk turning my PC off to check lol)
    UEFI hard drive is first in my boot order. The SSD is set as my primary hard drive. Normal HDD is 2nd, just incase UEFI didnt boot for some reason
    Forcing windows boot manager (F11) and selecting the SSD options on boot doesnt help
    My case has hot swap bays, I've tried all of them and they all work. I have also plugged directly in to the motherboard to no avail.
    Unsure as to what I should be doing tbh, any pointers would be appreciated.

    No, this SSD has never been in any PC other than this one. I installed 8.1 on it fresh out of the box.
    Disconnecting hotswap bays is a work around, not really a fix (it doesnt seem to help either). If I remove my HDDs from the bays, I literally have nowhere to put them, but it hasnt caused an issue since the BIOS update. The case is worth more than this motherboard, so if in the end theyre incompatible, I'll probably keep the case lol
    Worst comes to worst I will reinstall, I'm just reluctant to as thats what I did before and it didnt help.
    The ram has been in there for the last 4-5months, I'll remove a stick when 8.1 is finished downloading (aussie net is slow as hell). If you look in my post history, I have removed a stick before and it didn't seem to affect anything. Cant hurt to give it another go however.
