Are you an owner of a yogo 2 pro? If not, then you have no idea. You can't sit back and defend lenovo by modding us or hindering any potential efforts via discussion. You can't in good concience sit back and believe this to be ok.

  • Yoga 2 Pro - Screen not rotating on new Windows 8.1 install

I got my new Yoga 2 Pro last week and the screen rotation worked properly.
I decided to wipe the partitions and install my own version of Windows 8.1.
Since then the screen rotation doesn't work. The screen rotation button doesn't do anything and I don't have the 'Enable auto-rotate' checkbox in the resolution screen
In my device manager I have an error on 'HID Sensor collection' saying "This decice cannot start" (Code 10). Failed to initialize sensor from HID collection descriptor". I am not sure if this is related.
    Can anyone help me?
    Thank you

  • Yoga 2 Pro: Freezing, BSODs, and restarting

I got my Yoga 2 Pro in March, and I've loved it. About a month or a month and a half ago(maybe), it started having random glitches.
At first, I'd notice it when using the Netflix app. When waking the computer up from sleep when Netflix was open, it would just bluescreen and come back up and act normal. Then, it happened occasionally during shows I watched.
Then, I started having it happen more often, almost never with the same bluescreen error message. I would be browsing the web with the only program open being Firefox, and suddenly Firefox would close, saying it had something go wrong. Shortly after, I would get a BSOD.  I can't do anything to recreate or predict when something like this will happen next.
I recently updated BIOS, thinking that it could help.  I went about a week with no problems.  Out of nowhere, today, I got a BSOD when I was trying to log in after starting it up. Later, I had it restart suddenly, with no warning or bluescreen whatsoever.  Then, I had the screen freeze completely.  I couldn't use the mouse, keyboard or touchscreen. I tried ctrl+alt+delete and Ctrl+shift+esc. I did a hard restart, and it's been fine since. I have googled, looked at discussion boards, and gone through with the Lenovo Solutions Center thing to try to identify a problem.  It can't find anything, but I know there is a problem or it wouldn't bluescreen.
Please help! I may just need a new unit. :/

  • Yoga 2 Pro - Screen Flickering and Screen Blanking

    Hi,
I love the Yoga 2 Pro. But i have fews issues with it. Especially when used on battery.
My screen flicker from time to time. The onyl fix i found was to close the lid to put the laptop to sleep and the reopen it. Not very convinient.
An other issue I encounter is the screen blanking after a while when the computer is not in use. It's like the computer blank the screen to save battery power, but when you want to reuse it again, it won't start again. THe only fix is to hard reset the computer (eg : press 10s the power button)
I am running a fresh clean install of Windows 8.1 Pro with all the Lenovo Drivers up to date (exept the BIOS one)
If you could help me fix my issues. I think it's software related.
Do you think i should put the BIOS update ? Does anybody ever try with a clean windows 8.1 install ?
    Thanks a lot,
    Romain

I have the same issue, only it occurs at low brightness.
It flickers rapidly for a few seconds and goes away. It occasionally comes back, making it unable to work in darker environments with the rapid flickers.
I've checked all the auto-brightness and intel power saving options. I tried using both refresh rates, and they don't make a difference. The problem occurs in all power plans and even in the non-Lenovo energy manger modes. All drivers and BIOS are up to date.
I'm at a complete loss as to why this is happening...I would greatly appreciate a solution. I sincerely hope I don't have a defective laptop..):

  • Yoga 3 pro - screen wont stop flickering since installing windows 10!

HI. I hope someone can help. I just upgraded to Windows 10 and my screen continously flickers! I assume this is because its clashing with some pre installed lenovo software. anyone have the same problem? i dont think its any other software as I dont have much installed on my PC as i normally only use webapps (only the usual additions google chrome, anti virus)  model name: 80HE Lenovo yoga 3 pro 1370 appreciate your help. i am going crazy with this cheers Neil

I seemed to have found a way to fix the flickering after the windows 10 upgrade. I went to Lanovo's support page and installed: INTEL VGA DRIVER FOR WINDOWS 10 (64-BIT) - LENOVO YOGA 3 PRO-1370 http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/yoga-series/yoga-3-pro-1370-laptop-lenovo/80he/downloads/DS103937 When installing, it said that I had a more recent version of the driver, and I had to verify that I wanted to install the older driver.  It took a bit of time to download, extract and install, but when it was done (and restarted) the flickering was gone!  This is good news because I otherwise think Windows 10 is an improvement, and didn't want to revert back   I hope this helps everyone.   Note: 1. The link above is specific to the Yoga 3 Pro.  If you are experiencing this issue and have  a different model, you may want to go to the Lenovo support and use "Detect My Product" to find the driver for your model. Select the "Display and Video Graphics" component and find the driver that references "Windows 10" specifically.2. Before trying this, I updated the bios to the latest version. I suppose it is possible that this is also required to fix the flickering (although I doubt it, since after updating the bios, the flickering continued).

  • Yoga 2 Pro tent mode and auto-rotate not working

I have had a Yoga 2 Pro since June. Recently the Tent mode and auto-rotate features do not work.
When I put the Yoga 2 Pro into Tent mode the keyboard and touch pad are still active underneth. However, they shutoff when in tablet mode. Lenovo Transition starts automatically and is running.
Auto-rotate does not work at all now. The screen is un-locked.

    Dear NX3
    Welcome to Lenovo forums

  • Mac pro screen blank

My Mac Book Pro screen is blank when turned on. No keystroke will do anything. Screen stays white not black, cursor is on screen and can move.
    What will help this? HELP!!!

YOU HAVE TO INCLUDE THINGS LIKE WHAT GRAPHIC CARD YOU USE.
Because the first suggestion is X1900, OEM 7300GT, 8800GT are all due for upgrade/replacement.
Do yourself a favor the ATI 5770 from Apple works well for us and 10.7.5.
You could also use Lion Recovery Mode / pull your hard drive and boot from a bootable clone backup (because you know about and learned to do that years ago with SuperDuper or CCC or one of the other programs).
Dust, heat, old FBDIMMs, graphic cards that literally do give up and die.

  • Yoga 2 Pro: boot failure and touchscreen unresponsive

I've had my Yoga 2 for about a week and a half and for the most part I love it. First problem has been occasional (maybe 4-5 times) "Boot Failure", or something along those lines, on startup. Every time after restarting it it has worked fine. Also just earlier today I had a problem where the touchscreen went unresponsive for around 20 minutes before working fine again. I was in class so didn't do anything to try to fix it (taking notes so couldn't restart or anything), and it just starting working again by itself. Other than this, I have had no other problems. I have a few days left on my return/exchange with Best Buy, so wondering if these are problems that I should be seriously concerned about. Thanks.

If it were me, I would definitely exchange it. Boot failure may indicate some permanent failure about to happen, not to mention a flakey touch screen. Neither sounds like a software issue on a brand new computer.

  • Macbook pro screen blank

Hi guys. Need some help. I purchased macbook pro 15" about 1 and a half year ago. It works well at first. But just yesterday. When i turn my macbook. The screen went distorted, displaying color particle and else. Can u guys help me?

It may be a GPU or display problem.  A trip to an Apple store genius bar is your best option.  The evaluation will be free.
    Ciao.

  • Macbook pro monitor flickers and audio interference

    Hi there,
I've noticed some strange behavior with my macbook pro lately.  Occasionally the monitor will flicker just once really quickly. It will flicker between black and the regular screen.  Maybe it happens about twice a day.  When I'm surfing, I noticed some interference with the music that is playing in Itunes.  For example, if I click on a link in Google Chrome, the audio signal from whatever is playing in Itunes will get cut for a split second. It's almost like the processor is working too hard to manage both surfing in Chrome and the music playing in Itunes, which is ridiculous.  When I bought my computer (2008 or 2009 model), I upped the RAM to 4gb. My processor is 2.4 ghz.  I have no idea what's going on.  Is it a hard drive problem? Hope you can help.
    Thanks!

Do you have access to an Apple Store? If so, it may be worth making an appointment at the genius bar and having them run the test for the NVIDIA problem. Since your replacement logic board still has the NVIDIA GeForce 8600 M GT video chip, it could be starting to happen to your replacement logic board.
I also agree with all of CMCSK's suggestions. Freezing is often associated with hard drive problems. You might also want to run SMART Utility:
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/systemdiskutilities/smartutility.html
You can download the demo and run it several times for free. It will give you a very comprehensive view of the physical health of your hard drive. If you still have the original one from 2007, it's getting pretty long in the tooth and may be approaching the end of its average useful life of 3-5 years. I just recently had to replace my original 2007 Fujitsu drive.
If your drive is headed south, and is also too small, it may be time to upgrade to a larger and faster drive.
The software update probably didn't cause the problems, but it may have exposed problems that were already in existence.
    Good luck!

  • MacBook Pro screen blank when turned on

So my MacBook Pro was working about 1 hour ago when I had left it on to do an update for one of my games on my desktop and I would think it would go to sleep. My MacBook Pro 17 inches 2007 model and I would think that when I got back home and opened my computer that it would awaken from sleep. This is where it gets weird the bottom half of my computer is on but the screen is turned of, I now that the computer is on since the light on the button you press to open the MacBook Pro is on. So if any one can help me I would be entirely grateful. So I have tried to restart it and that didn't work. I even looked up online if this had happened to other people and it has and I have tried restarting my MacBook Pro on safe mode by pressing the shift key and that didn't work. Then I tried restarting the PRMA and that didn't work. The same thing has happened to my sisters computer which is an identically MacBook Pro like this one in every way and she sent it to apple and they said that you have a bad logic bouts and now they have to replace and those are very expensive and I am just hoping that I don't have that problem with my MacBook Pro. So if any one can help please. Ohh my computer runs osx but I think it's to the most updated osx but not  mountain lion. If anyone needs anymore information about my computer to help me fix this problem I will gladly give you more info thanks and please help.

Booting into Safe Mode can take a long, long time... how long did you allow?
It really sounds as if you've a hardware problem. You say that you're not running Mountain Lion, but you don't say which version of OS X you're running. If Lion, you can try booting to your Recovery partition by holding down the Command and R keys whilst booting. If you're not running Lion, get the original installation disc(s) that shipped with your computer and try booting from the first disc.
If you can't boot into Safe Mode, Recovery partition or using an original disc, you're just going to have to take your computer into your local Apple Store or an AASP and have them run tests on the machine. You could try running the Apple Hardware Test yourself, but given your symptoms, I'm not sure that you'll be able to do that.
    Good luck,
    Clinton

  • Mac Pro Screen Blank When Started

I have a Mac Pro 1,1 running 10.7.5.  I turned off my computer.  When I went to turn it back on all I am getting is a blank screen.  No apple logo or moving wheel.  I have a bootable hard drive, so I tried to reboot holding down the option key.  Blank screen.
    Now what?

  • Yoga 2 Pro: Sound, Browser and Wifi Fixes

These are the fixes I have came across the last couple months. Hope these are helpful.
Sound, when plugging in headphones or HDMI connecton the sound will go out sometimes.
FIX: Press  Mute, then mute again(turning the sound back on). Works fine after.
Browser, I don't have this one licked yet but this is my work around. I would love input if anyone has a better alterative. In Chrome touchpad scrolling is impossible for me to use. It will scroll 10% down the page and stop then start zooming the page in and out. But the touchscreen does work fine. I prefer the touchpad in most cases, so this is what i have done. I do miss the extentions in Chrome.
FIX: Use Firefox. Not a perfect fix but I am happy. The loading times when going back to pages is alot faster and touchpad scrolling def works.
Wfif, works fine most the time. As of the last 2 weeks, twice the wifi went to a "limit connection".
FIX: Windows "Troubleshooot Problems" on the Wifi icon. It like restarts the wireless connection and works fine.

    1. This is a Windows 8/realtek feature. If I am listening to iTunes first and then play a youtube video, it will assume that since iTunes has been playing longer, it must be more important. As a result, it plays the youtube video at a lower. Even if you pause iTunes, Windows will be hooked to the iTunes player for a few min before it realizes the change in audio states and increases the youtube video.
Try: Control Panel > Sound > "Communications" tab > "Do nothing".
    2. Sounds like a Windows problem too.
    3. Have you tried disabling adaptive brightness (it must be disabled in 3 different locations, to properly be disabled).
    4. Try disabling/uninstalling DPTF

  • Yoga 2 Pro Display flimmern / flackern

    Hallo Forum,

  • Yoga 3 Pro Slow - How to reinstall Windows 8.1 without all bloatware

My new Yoga 3 Pro is slow and sticking even with using Office 365 and even when browsing it is allready sticking.
I have heard that doing a clean install of just vanilla Win 8.1 pro is a good way to go.
I am not super technical, what is the best way to approach that with the Yoga 3 Pro? Any cautions or recommendations against this approach?

    Hi,
If you go with a clean install I'd suggest first making your recovery flash drive.  That way you can revert to the factory setup if you later change your mind.
I tested a clean install on my Y3P a couple of days ago.  Things I noticed: the initial install screens are tiny due to the Y's high resolution.  The touchpad and touchscreen don't work during install, so you'll need to plug in a mouse or fuss with keyboard-only navigation.  After installation you'll only have 2.4GHz wifi, so you'll need to install the Lenovo driver.  There are probably other Lenovo drivers that will be required - but I haven't taken the experiment any farther yet.
It's convenient that these days you can download the clean install image directly from Microsoft.
