RE1000 reconnection and setup disc is lost

I changed my network name on my linksys router and once I did that my RE1000 range extender is not connecting.  Everything I am reading says to type in 192.168.1.1 into the address bar and  once the new window pops up, leave the user name blank and type "admin" into the password.  The problem is that when I type in the number into the address bar I am directed to the linksys login page and not the user name & password box I keep seeing on the instructions that deal with RE1000 re set up.  How can I get my extender reconnected?

You need to make sure that you disable the computer’s wireless adapter if you are using a laptop. You can also start from scratch by resetting the RE1000 and then use this link: http://kb.linksys.com/Linksys/ukp.aspx?pid=80&vw=1&articleid=27394 to install the RE1000 manually.

A reply to similar question (Q & As , in product page Apple Store) says:
"...dissable the internal reader hardware from devices setup. Then plug the external usb superdrive and that's it."  Answered by Enrique T from Lima Oct  25 2013.
If you can locate an external Apple USB 'Air" superdrive for earlier model MacBook Air, that should work. The newer one for the Air is the same as for iMac, now.
You may be able to use other brands of external USB optical drive with your older intel-based iMac, as some of them function capably. A few should also be able to see system discs or other bootable utilities on DVD.
    Hopefully this helps.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • My setup disc isn't working

It doesn't auto-run, and when I run it from My computer, it immediately "encounters a problem" and needs to close.  Did I get a defective disc, or is there something I can do to fix it?
EDIT:  Actually, if it's possible to set up my WRT54G router without using the setup disc, please let me know how.  Thanks in advance.

  • Deleted Delta Queue and setup tables on R/3 side

    Hi Gurus,
We are in the process of BW upgrade to NW 2004s. There was some confusion and I deleted the delta Queues in RSA7 (delete button on top) and setup tables too.
Now we have refilled the setup tables but nothing is appearing in RSA7 now.
Do we need to reinstall datasources and then replicate in BW?
    Please help.
    Regards,
    Anil

    Hi,
You'll need to initialize the datasources again for anything to show up in RSA7.
Now are the R3 users also locked out on the R3 side ? Are any Master data being converted, created ?
If that's the case and users are doing any transactions on the R3 side, you've basically lost the delta data from when you deleted the delta queues to the time you are going to run the inits. There's no way excpet a full update for you to recover all that data. So if R3 side processing is happening as usual, would suggest you start planning on getting the lost data back into BW post upgrade.
    Cheers,
    Kedar

  • How can i reset factory settings on imac running osx 10.5.8 without setup discs?

Hi, I just got my hands on my first Mac which is second hand and I want to wipe the hard drive clean and start a fresh.
The system I have is a iMac with a 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 4GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM running Mac OS X version 10.5.8.
How can I reset this Mac to factory settings as I didn't get the setup discs with the computer?

Phone Apple and order replacements, or if you don't need iLife, buy a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD from the online Apple Store.

If you have a PPC Mac, you can't install Windows unless you are using something like Parallels or a virtual application.  If you are using Boot Camp, eject the disc, reboot and try again.

I tried to use disc utility tonight on my MacBook Pro and from the cd because my computer was running slow.
Each time I use it is says it has lost its connection with the Disc Management Tool and can't connect. Please quit and relaunch Disc Utility.
I have done that....restarted the computer and tried to install TechTool Deluxe which just hangs up. I have searched through the archives and see nothing.

  • Can't boot 10.3 Setup disc on dual G5 tower

    Hi there...
I recently purchased a PowerMac G5 tower, dual CPU, 512MB RAM. It came with MacOS X 10.4 (updated to 10.4.6) which works just fine.
I also need to use MacOS 10.3 and 10.2 on this computer. Problem is, the computer won't boot from the 10.3 discs. The computer boots with the Apple on the screen, reads the disc for a while, then it will either 1) show a circle-slash symbol and stop, or 2) hang with the apple logo still visible.
The system firmware is 5.2.7f1 All the discs are readable and I've successfully reinstalled 10.4 on this computer, so I know the DVD drive is OK. The 10.3 discs work fine on another G5 Tower.
There was a discussion in another thread, on how new hardware might not be supported by older OS installers. Is it possible to create a new 10.3 Setup disc with updated drivers?
Would purchasing a "more recent" copy of 10.3 solve my problem? (Assuming I can find one) i.e., does Apple update the retail software?
    Thanks very much,
    -James
    G5, iMac   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    1. Are your install CDs Full Retail Version or
    computer specific for your computer?
I was using the 10.3 discs from another PowerMac G5, not Full Retail. I had thought one G5 tower was the same as the next...
From the other replies/articles, it seems that even a Full Retail version of 10.3 would not work because this G5 came with 10.4
Hmmm, guess I'll be looking for older hardware then.
    2. Are you planning to install these systems on
    separate drives or separate partitions?
    Seperate drives.

  • Won't turn on white screen with apple logo and spinning disc

Mac book air won't boot up just has a white screen with apple logo and spinning disc have tried all the startup multiple key pushes , I think

Take each of these steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved.
    Step 1
The first step in dealing with a boot failure is to secure your data. If you want to preserve the contents of the startup drive, and you don't already have at least one current backup, you must try to back up now, before you do anything else. It may or may not be possible. If you don't care about the data that has changed since your last backup, you can skip this step.
There are several ways to back up a Mac that is unable to boot. You need an external hard drive to hold the backup data.
         a. Boot into the Recovery partition, or from a local Time Machine backup volume (option key at startup.) When the OS X Utilities screen appears, launch Disk Utility and follow the instructions in this support article, under “Instructions for backing up to an external hard disk via Disk Utility.”
    b. If you have access to a working Mac, and both it and the non-working Mac have FireWire or Thunderbolt ports, boot the non-working Mac in target disk mode. Use the working Mac to copy the data to another drive. This technique won't work with USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.
    c. If the internal drive of the non-working Mac is user-replaceable, remove it and mount it in an external enclosure or drive dock. Use another Mac to copy the data.
    Step 2
If the startup process stops at a blank gray screen with no Apple logo or spinning "daisy wheel," then the startup volume may be full. If you had previously seen warnings of low disk space, this is almost certainly the case. The easiest way to deal with the problem is to boot from an external drive, or else to use either of the techniques in Steps 1b and 1c to mount the internal drive and delete some files. According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation.
    Step 3
Sometimes a boot failure can be resolved by resetting the NVRAM.
    Step 4
If you use a wireless keyboard, trackpad, or mouse, replace or recharge the batteries. The battery level shown in the Bluetooth menu item may not be accurate.
    Step 5
If there's a built-in optical drive, a disc may be stuck in it. Follow these instructions to eject it.
    Step 6
Press and hold the power button until the power shuts off. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed to boot, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Use a different keyboard and/or mouse, if those devices are wired. If you can boot now, one of the devices you disconnected, or a combination of them, is causing the problem. Finding out which one is a process of elimination.
    Step 7
If you've booted from an external storage device, make sure that your internal boot volume is selected in the Startup Disk pane of System Preferences.
Boot in safe mode. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Post for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
When you boot in safe mode, it's normal to see a dark gray progress bar on a light gray background. If the progress bar gets stuck for more than a few minutes, or if the system shuts down automatically while the progress bar is displayed, your boot volume is corrupt and the drive is probably malfunctioning. In that case, go to Step 6.
If you can boot and log in now, empty the Trash, and then open the Finder Info window on your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) Check that you have at least 9 GB of available space, as shown in the window. If you don't, copy as many files as necessary to another volume (not another folder on the same volume) and delete the originals. Deletion isn't complete until you empty the Trash again. Do this until the available space is more than 9 GB. Then reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.)
If the boot process hangs again, the problem is likely caused by a third-party system modification that you installed. Post for further instructions.
    Step 8
Launch Disk Utility in Recovery mode (see Step 1.) Select your startup volume, then run Repair Disk. If any problems are found, repeat until clear. If Disk Utility reports that the volume can't be repaired, the drive has malfunctioned and should be replaced. You might choose to tolerate one such malfunction in the life of the drive. In that case, erase the volume and restore from a backup. If the same thing ever happens again, replace the drive immediately.
This is one of the rare situations in which you should also run Repair Permissions, ignoring the false warnings it may produce. Look for the line "Permissions repair complete" at the end of the output. Then reboot as usual.
    Step 9
Reinstall the OS. If your Mac was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade.
    Step 10
Repeat Step 9, but this time erase the boot volume in Disk Utility before installing. The system should automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant. Follow the prompts to transfer your data from a Time Machine or other backup.
    Step 11
This step applies only to models that have a logic-board ("PRAM") battery: all Mac Pro's and some others (not current models.) Both desktop and portable Macs used to have such a battery. The logic-board battery, if there is one, is separate from the main battery of a portable. A dead logic-board battery can cause a boot failure. Typically the failure will be preceded by loss of the settings for the startup disk and system clock. See the user manual for replacement instructions. You may have to take the machine to a service provider to have the battery replaced.
    Step 12
If you get this far, you're probably dealing with a hardware fault. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider.

  • Cant restore from rescue and recovery discs

    Hi Guys
I bought a set of Windows 7 64bit Lenovo Rescue and Recovery Discs approx. 18 months ago so I could "restore" my X201 if and when the hard disk died, well the day has come and the discs dont work !!!
I have attempted to "restore" to the new hard disk 3 times and this is now starting to become a joke.
I boot the 1st disk, then I'm asked to insert the 2nd and then 3rd disks, I dont have a 4th disk but the process asks me for one. I believe that this is all working as it takes a number of hours and the drive lights is flickering except when I'm being asked to insert the next disc.
After the final re-boot. following the "Setting up drivers - 100%" on the screen I get a message box that says "Setup cant configure windows for your configuration", this is after I have had the "Starting Windows 7" booting on the screen.
    Has anyone had any experience with Win 7 64bit R & R discs for a X201 ???
    TIA
    NG

I assume your issue is laptop boot mode related.
In order to restore from Lenovo Recovery discs set laptop should be in legacy boot mode. Check out this option in BIOS setup. Unfortunately you'll can't change boot mode later. But this mode just speeds up a boot process only 2-3 secs.
Boot and installation processes don't inform the customer about error boot mode related.
Check out the 1st disc. If it consists a folder like BOOT and files like BOOTMGR and WINRE.WIM (all of them are for boot process) and folder like FACTORYRECOVERY - it's OK and your 1st data disk is bootable too.
If you had partition like Lenovo_Recovery (Q: usually) on your x201 with factory images you could make Factory_Recovery Discs set yourself w/o purchasing it from Lenovo.

There is no way around the activation lock. You apparently decided to use the phone with someone else's ID set up for an iCloud (and find my iPhone) account before updating. Since Find My iPhone was active, updating to iOS 7 has automatically turned on the activation lock. If you do not have the Apple ID and password that were previously used, then the phone is now useless. You can't activate it without that informaion.
Talk to whoever you bought the phone from if you can. If you can't, buy a new phone.
