Reaching my boiling point

As much as the products themselves are great, the CC platform has been nothing but a nightmare from day 1.
It started w/ the first set of application updates that failed...consistently.  The solutions on this forum were anything but solutions as they just referenced install directions on the Adobe site or some ridiculous steps that made absolutely no sense as to why they would be needed.  Randomly one day I clicked to update an app (it became part of a morning routine) and it worked.  Why?  WHO KNOWS!!!
Fast forward to December or so when the CC application manager said it had an update it needed to apply.  "Oh good," I thought, "Perhaps this will fix the application update issues."  Nope.  201 errors abound when attempting to update the app manager.  Nowhere, and I do mean nowhere, is there a reasonable Adobe-approved solution to this.  I can't even find a straight answer on what 201 actually is.
About 30 minutes ago, I found a page on the Adobe site what gave a couple possible "solutions" to get me up and running.  After number 1 failed, I went to number 2 which was to run the cleaner.  After dutifully following all the steps and running the cleaner, I was left with no Adobe apps and the CC app manager gone.  "Great!" I thought. "Perhaps now I can install fresh."
Nope.  201 errors continue to abound and here I am.  Waiting for someone from support to answer up on the 24/7 chat, and ranting here in the meantime.
I'm second guessing my decision to purchase this at the moment.

Johnfwright error 201 is fairly unique error and does not occur very often.  Error 201 indicates an intermittent connection.  In specific download is being paused and then resumed.  Unfortunately in this case when the download is not resuming due to an incorrect response.
Have you utilized the steps listed in Error downloading and installing Creative Cloud application?  If so what specific error messages did you locate in the download logs?  Have you temporarily disabled any software and hardware firewalls?

  • Is it possible to pin my navigation to the top of the browser until I reach a certain point on the page and then let it continue to scroll normally?

I'm trying to get my navigation to pin to the top of the browser while other scroll effects are taking place, then when it reaches a certain point on the page, I want the navigation to continue moving up and off the screen to allow for the footer to come in.  Is this possible?

    Hello Experts,
    I have successfully installed a ECC 6.0 System-ABAP + JAVA (DB2 v9.5 windows server 2008-x64 bit).

    Also, regarding DB2 licensing,i have a query:
    db2licm -l gives the following:
    C:\Users\db2dsq.DUCATI>db2licm -l

I have applied both sap and DB2 license. Is everything ok regarding licensing of DB v9.5 for using with SAP?
I am new to DB2 database and looking for expert guidance regarding the above mentioned issues.

  • Unable to reach Webservice End Point in CE

    Hi all,
I wanted to publish one RFC based webservice that is created in one of the WebApplication server in the 'Services Registry' of CE .For this i executed following steps:
            1. Created UDDI entry in WebAS using a particular PORT by     transaction 'WSPARAM'.
            2. This port is using the RFC destination which points to Services Registry
              of composition environment.
           3. Published
                          i) Physical system
                          ii) WS definition
                         iii) WS Endpoint
                 using transatcion 'WSPUBLISH' successfully.
Now the webservice appears in 'Services Registry'.If i click on WSDL url
appearing there,it returns the correct WSDL.
But if i go to 'EndPoint' tab and click on 'Test It' button, it gives me the following error :
Invalid Response Code: (500) Unknown Host. The requested URL was:"http://ructdc00.wdf.sap.corp:52080/sap/bc/srt/rfc/sap/ztest_ashis?sap-client=800&wsdl=1.1&mode=sap_wsdl"
Although if i type this in IE browser i am able to get the wsdl in the browser.
So do i need to maintain any system detail of WebAs in CE environment. If yes
    where ?
    Additional Info
This server is not in the SLD that is used by CE.Anyway its a http destination. So system is in the SLD or outside SLD shouldn' matter.
I am able to consume the web service from another WebAS by using a
client proxy. So webservice is working fine.
Can anyone help me out ?
    Thanks and Regards
    Ashis

    Hi All,
Finally i got the solution.First in the sebservice configuration we should add
*.wdf.sap.corp to exclusion list of the server in the proxy setting of webservice. Then
    it works fine.
    Thanks and Regards
    Ashis

  • I am trying to re load Lightroom 5.7 frommy outside hard drive to my new hard drive . I am able to reach a certain point in the download and I am then asked for the access code which I do not have. I had upgraded on line from Lightroom3.

    Hello,
I just had the hard drive on my computer replaced, and the Lightroom5.7 and Photoshop cannot be sent over from the outside hard drive without an access code!! Now what do I do? Will Adobe have a record of my Lightroom3 download and my 5.7 upgrade?

If you took the time to register your software on the Adobe web site, then you can log on and retrieve your serial numbers.
    Find your serial number quickly
You ought to be able to retrieve the serial numbers from your first hard drive ... that requires knowing what your operating system is and if the first hard drive actually is readable.
And if none of that works ... well then I think you're way out of luck.
Might I suggest you adopt a new method of keeping track of your serial numbers, not just for Lightroom but all of your software? I suggest you create a computer text file named serialnumbers.txt, containing all of your serial numbers, stored on your computer and in a cloud backup service (like DropBox which is free) so that you will never lose it.

  • I have just attempted an archive and install of my OS, the status bar has reached a certain point and does not seem to load any further. Help?

The installer has been stuck at "44 minutes remaining" for about 2 hours now, I don't want to quit the installer incase I lose any files. I have no idea what to do now
Before doing the archive install I ran disk utility and came up with no problems. I have completed two previous archive and installs after a few issues I had with my MB. I suspect my HD is failing however it has never just stopped loading like this before.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

So your n 10.5 and you have archived and installed before, and it stalled this time,
You likely ran out of drive space or even hit a bad sector on the drive.
Reboot the machine holding the shift key down, that hopefully should get you in so you can delete the previous archived versions of OS X.
Your user accounts and files are stored seperate and even if archived with OS X, it's a copy of the orginals.
Once you get in, copy these like Users folders to a external drive as soon as possible and disconnect.

  • Ex-Uverse customer not happy with being a new Fios customer

We just had our Fios Triple installed on Saturday 9/30/13. I was a very happy Uverse customer.  We moved to Verizon territory and we wanted something similar so we chose Verizon vs Direct TV and Charter Cable.  Verizon Fios is far inferior to my experience with AT&T Uverse. It wasn't just one person but the whole experience. I never called AT&T's customer service in the years we had it. We had no problems. I just got off the phone for the sixth time since our install and  it hasn't been a week yet.
Issue 1) Installer called at 8:30am to tell us he needs to come earlier than our 10am-3pm appointment. I explained we were moving and was signing the lease at 9am that is why we set a 10am-3pm appointment so we would have the key, TVs and phone in our place ready for the install. The installer said well he was scheduled for 2 appointments during that time frame so he doesn't know if he could make it at all if he doesn't come now. I told him it was ok to come after 3pm but please call and let us know since we are moving in. I thought about the situation and as a former dispatcher myself, I knew we shouldn't have gotten that call. I called customer service to let them know installer might not be able to show at all and gave them heads up. We got a call back from the installer telling us he will keep the set appointment time. He showed at 1pm
Issue 2) The installer showed with a bad attitude. Our place was already set up for Fios. The previous resident had it installed so it shouldn't have been a hard job. He was complaining he needed to drill a hole to install the Router in the living room.  I told him no problem the hole can be covered with the TV and furniture. There was only one wall that the TV could go on so I asked what was the alternative outside of canceling the order. He placed a small hole next to the Verizon box so I wasn't sure what his issue was. It was obvious he didn't want to come to work that day. He took what I thought a long time to set up DVR, Set Top Box,router and phone. I tried hard not to compare AT&T installer to Verizon installer because people have different personalities. This installer wasn't friendly and AT&T went out of his way to tell us what he was doing, gave us feedback and walked us through all three. To put the icing on the cake, he left a nice sheet with our new phone number, att.net email, Uverse URL, wireless network connection name and key and if we had any questions in the next few days, we could call him directly since he was familiar with our set up. The Verizon installer went over the remote and left the channel line up brochure. He told us if you need the wireless network connection info for the devices,  the numbers are on the back of the modem. (Do you know how many numbers are on the back of the modem???) I know how to find the numbers but my husband didn't so I had to tell him which ones.
Issue 3) After the install we went back to the old house and got more stuff to move. My husband said he wanted to record Homeland on Showtime can I do it from my phone like I did with Uverse. It took me 1 hour to figure it out because the website wasn't mobile so it wasn't working. I had to download 3 apps to figure out which one to use. I was so proud that I figured it out. It wasn't intuitive and it confirmed I had scheduled the recording. Monday morning I'm in front of the DVR to check my scheduled recordings. Homeland was there but didn't play. Called customer service..They said you have the Extreme HD. You need Ultimate HD. I told them I'm a customer and the names mean nothing to me. I wanted the package that had Showtime but didn't need HBO. When I placed the order originally, I told the sales agent I wanted a similar package to what we had with Uverse. I mentioned we watch Lifetime, Showtime, the Movie Channel and sports but we were going to suck it up that Uverse got Pac 12 channel last week and Fios doesn't have it. I pulled out the channel brochure and saw that there are no movie channels with the Extreme package. I think of 2 errors-1) Give us the channels we want and 2) Why was I able to appear to record from a channel we didn't subscribe to but I was made aware of the 3rd error when the new agent was confirming my order. The price for more channels was cheaper!!! Now I'm not happy at all!!!
Issue 4) I had to look up the phone number on my account. It wasn't in the confirmation email order and of course I had to call customer service once again to get full access to my account online because the call never came through with my full access activation code. I got the code and went to set up my voice mail. I couldn't. I called customer service again and was told I didn't have a voice mail box set up on the server. I asked why. The tech said it wasn't on the order so we didn't now you wanted it. I asked is there an extra charge doesn't it come with Fios voice he said yes then I asked why isn't it just set up. He said how are we suppose to know you want it!!! I've been ordering landlines and cell phones since the 70's. I've never had to tell anyone I want voice mail. All I had to do was set it up.He said well I'll add it and it could take up to 24 hours before you can set it up.
Issue 5) I record Scandal and schedule to record on all types since we have HD in the living room and SD in the bedroom. We decide to watch half in the living room and the other half in the bedroom. You know the problem there.. CAN'T. I'm still frustrated with Verizon but haven't reached the boiling point until...I can't record  on Monday night The Voice and Dancing With the Stars at the same time at 8pm and Hostages and Black List at 10pm. I see 8pm shows recording as the same time as the 10pm because the networks end the shows at 10:01pm. I said well lets see if in the future one of the shows are on Video On Demand. Click on VOD and it says Temporarily Unavailable. SERIOUSLY!!!! I call customer service. I get a tech. He transfers me to a sales agent to make sure I have VOD in my package. She gets an ear full  of my problems and gives me a $20 discount per month for 12 months. I didn't boil over..Still frustrated but appreciated that finally someone tried to make me happy. She transfers me to tech to fix DVR issues and VOD. Tech can't fix SD/HD or recording my 4 Monday night shows. The DVR has limitations that I didn't have with Uverse. VERIZON -time to get up to speed and fast with your DVR limitations. It can be solved with allowing more recordings at the same time...DUH!! You guessed it..Video on Demand was never set up for our account. It will take up to 24 hours to add this service that even comes with the basic Fios!!! I asked the tech how does this happen! When an order is placed isn't there a check list to make sure all the features are activated. He said yes but the agent didn't order VOD. Now to me that makes no sense for the agent to have to order set up for something that comes with a package. It should be a part of the check list.
Verizon..All I can say is, you guys have got to get this together. There needs to be a customer complaint hotline because I now get to tell everyone on this forum and all my social media accounts how poor your set up for new customers and how your DVR service is lacking. I asked during each call if there was a general customer relations department for Fios one agent said yes and gave me the number to Verizon Wireless customer relations...oops!! I happen to be a wireless customer and they got an ear full and apologized for your incompetence. They didn't have a number and got off the phone embarrassed that they shared the same name.

    Hi Lisacpt,
Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you. Please go to your profile page for the forum and look at the top of the middle column where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board.
Under "My Support Cases" you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. This should be checked on a frequent basis, as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions. • Incredibly slow performance on early 2011 17-inch; what could it be?

I've got an early 2011 Macbook Pro 17-inch with the (at the time) bumped up 2.3 ghz CPU. Other than the CPU bump, it's pretty stock. Only 4 gigs of RAM, and the 750 gig hard drive running at 5400rpm. This is my second unit, the first having mysteriously died when I was traveling (just wouldn't even power on; apple store replaced it).
Due to a pretty heavy schedule since then (lots of travel, lots of work, and night classes), I haven't had much opportunity to do anything extreme on my fancy new computer. Despite that, I have noticed it often feels SLOW. Like, really slow. Stuff like taking 2 seconds just to switch between open apps, when you only have 2 apps open (and I'm not talking Final Cut and Photoshop, I'm talking Safari and Mail). Numbers was barely usable, sometimes dropping keystrokes as I tabbed between cells (and switching cells took over a second). Pages was frustratingly slow. It was bad. Finally, I reached a boiling point when I downloaded the latest Humble Indie Bundle, and Jamestown (a vertical-scrolling, 2D shooter) was unplayably slow. It wasn't running at a consistently low framerate, but it would basically freeze up for a second every 3 seconds or so. That's a lot of freezing up.
Today, I ran Geek Bench, and compared my score to a typical sandy bridge MBP 17". Typical 17" was in the neighborhood of 11,000. My MBP17" scored in the neighborhood of 2700! That is pretty bad!
Anyway, I'm trying to figure out where to even look. I ran the benchmark with all apps closed. It wasn't a fresh boot, but trust me I've rebooted plenty of times and it's been noticeably slow every time. I download Onyx a week ago and had it clear out all my caches, refresh my prebindings, run the periodic crons, and also did a repair disk permissions from Disk Utility. None of that has brought my score above 3000.
When I say I ran Geek Bench by itself, that's not entirely true. I always set up Activity Monitor to be a startup app, minimized to my dock. It's always plenty idle. There are no visible runaway processes or memory hogs. I do have it set ot display All Processes. I also ran memtest with 4 passes to check if my memory was bad, and it found no errors.
I have Windows 7 in boot camp, and when I tried playing Jamestown there, it was fine. I've played some older games (like Mass Effect 1 and 2) earlier in the year in boot camp, and it seemed fine. Granted, those were older games. I haven't done anything that pushed it. I would consider my Windows partition to be "untested" in this regard--it hasn't proven that it's slow or not. Jamestown was playable and didn't stutter...but honestly that game would run well on my 4 year old 2-core MBP, which would probably score in the upper 2000's on Geek Bench anyway. That said, OS X does have a stuttering problem that doesn't seem to be happening in Windows.
I'm at a loss, and was planning to schedule a Genius Bar appointment for this weekend, but I'm curious if anybody has any insight or experience with this? I'll update the thread with whatever I learn at Apple.

Update: After I got home, I decided to do some more random troubleshooting. First I closed everything, did another repair permissions, rebooted and confirmed the performance was still slow.
Then I took my laptop out of the Book Arc stand (holds it vertical) and power-cycled the machine, now without my external peripherals. The Geek Bench now reported 10235! So that is good news!
Interestingly, my battery (despite having been plugged in for weeks) was at 0%, so it seems like there might be a problem with the SMC. I reset it and I'll see how it goes. Doing a Geek Bench run each time, I put my computer back in its stand and hooked it up to the external monitor and keyboard.
I tried the Jamestown test, and I was sad to see that even with good geek bench numbers, it was still herky jerky. I removed the laptop from the Book Arc and played on the built-in keyboard and display, and the problems were gone. I hooked it back up to the external display, and things were fine, then, too.
I'm going to keep an eye on the CPU (by occasionally running geek bench) as well as the state of the battery. I've had the laptop out of its stand less than three weeks ago, which would imply that this slowdown problem should be isolated to no more than that period of time, but I have been observing slowness for longer than that.
As of now, I have nothing to show at the Genius Bar, so I'm cancelling.

  • Frustrating Mute/Solo button bug?!!!

I have the most frustrating problem and i'm reaching my boiling point!!!
I'm trying to sync audio (by hand, because sadly the new 'audio-sync feature' doesn't work right 90% of time).  I hit "mute" on one track and try to go one frame back/forward with the keyboard arrow keys to find my exact sync point, yet as soon as i click the arrow key either way, the Mute/Solo buttons toogle themselves back on/off.
To be clearer: I mute track 1 and unmute track 2.  Then i press the arrow key on the keyboard to move one frame and as soon as I press that key, track 1 unmutes and track 2 mutes.
this doesn't happen always, but certainly happens most of the time i try to sync stuff.  I'm as frustrated as I can be and can't believe I haven't seen anyone else online mention this issue.  Is this some dumb new feature in premiere and if so please please tell me how to turn it off, and if it's a bug - is there any fix for it?
If I hadn't already spent 2 weeks building this massive project (it's a big feature film), i'd go back to Premiere CS6, but now i don't want to have to re-organize everything again...
    Please help!

There is a different mute/solo bug which only rears it's head after reopening a project.  You're the first I've seen report something similar while still working.
You could try trashing preferences, and if that doesn't work, you may want to consider a reinstall.

I am on my 4th macbook pro in a year and a half and have basically had nothing but trouble. The last 2 were i7s and they both have emitted fumes and I have been experiencing much more frequent headaches than I have ever had in my life.
      Model Name:    MacBook Pro
      Model Identifier:    MacBookPro6,2
      Processor Name:    Intel Core i7
      Processor Speed:    2.66 GHz
      Number Of Processors:    1
      Total Number Of Cores:    2
This newest one I've had for a few months and though I was hoping the smell would go away, it has not. I tried installing smc fan control and running them at high for a while. This is not helping. I just read that the fumes could be carcinogenic so that *****.
I've had laptops for the last 10 years, most of which were stable good laptops, so this new breed of smelly laptops really is a step down for Apple. When I called tech support, they said their was nothing in the documentation about it even though people in other forums reported that apple techs knew about the fumes.
Anyways, what I am wondering is, does the newest model smell? Does the macbook air? Do all the apple laptops smell at this point?

This may seem an odd question, but do you use an external monitor, by chance?
As for the model I have, it's the 13" i5 MacBook Pro:
    Model Name:          MacBook Pro
      Model Identifier:          MacBookPro8,1
      Processor Name:          Intel Core i5
      Processor Speed:          2.3 GHz
      Number of Processors:          1
      Total Number of Cores:          2
L2 Cache (per Core):          256 KB
      L3 Cache:          3 MB
      Memory:          8 GB
      Boot ROM Version:          MBP81.0047.B0E
      SMC Version (system):          1.68f96
I took my laptop to the Apple store today, and we ran several programs simultaneously to heat up the CPU and make the fan turn on, but they couldn't smell what I smelled.
And to be honest, I didn't notice it as strongly.
So I'm now thinking it may be some adhesive that needs to be heated for several minutes, maybe even over an hour, before it starts fuming.  It needs to reach a boiling point, if you will.
I don't know what to do.  Apple thinks it's a "normal smell" but it's making me ill.  I'm thinking about just selling it and getting a quad core i7 at the lowest clock speed possible, the idea being that it should run cooler and perhaps not have the issue with fumes.
I really wish I could get someone from Apple to visit the house after the compute has been on for a couple hours.  The smell is overwhelming.

  • Break points are not triggering in RFC from portal application

    Helllo,
I am running Biller Direct application from portal, which is triggering a standard SAP RFC FM back end, am trying to debug my execution from portal, for this i put the External Break point, Session break-poiint at the beginning of this SAP RFC FM, but, its not stoppping at ll, here the user is a Web user, not dialog user.
How can i stop my execution in this SAP RFC FM to check how the structures are populated?
    Thank you

    Hi Raju,
Please try the below way and check if it works.
Open the RFC in R/3 i.e.
    SE37 -> give FM NAME -> DISPLAY.
Click on UTILITIES -> SETTINGS -> CLICK THE TAB debugging.
In the screen against the field users : give the value 'WEBLOGIN'.
    Uncheck the FLAG 'IP MATCHING'.
And at the bottom check the check box against the field
    'Session Break Point Activate Immediately'.
    Save these settings.
Then go to the line at which you want to debug the code and put an external break point over there.
But, please take care of one thing as we are giving it as a WEBLOGIN, when ever some logs in, it will reach the brteak point and stop there. We have to click F8 to continue. Or else, the portal will be hanged for them.
    Thanks & regards,
    Y Gautham

  • Need .flv to pause on Cue Point usingActionScript 3

I'm creating a presentaiton of a Google Earth flythru. At
specific (cue) points I need the FLV to pause and then when the
presenter pushes a key (space bar) the FLV continues to play. I
have a good understanding of the Event Listener process for AS 3.0
but am not sure how to address the the action of the pausing once
the flv reaches the cue point. Does anyone know of any good
    tutorials? Or any helpful insight?
    Thanks,
    Mike

NetStream events have nothing to do with cue points.
onCuePoint method belongs to NetStream client. So, you will need
    something like this:
    client.onCuePoint = pointListener;
    function pointListener (cuePoint:Object):void {
    trace(cuePoint.name + " " + cuePoint.time);
In a nutshell NetStream events are fired when changes occur
in video delivery (buffer, start, pause, etc.) - not video content.
    More information:
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/flash/9.0/ActionScriptLangRefV3/flash/net/NetStream.html
As for your code, your syntax is not correct.
    You wrote: vid.addEventListener(NetStatusEvent.NET_STATUS,
    "myFirstCuePoint");
If you listener function is myFirstCuePoint you need to
    write:
    vid.addEventListener(NetStatusEvent.NET_STATUS,
    myFirstCuePoint); - no quotes.
Also, I don't use FLVPlayback - it has it's own methods and
events. What I wrote pertains to the cases when NetSream and
    NetConnection are used stand alone.

  • MSE Creates A Restore Point Every Time It Updates

MSE creates a redundant restore point every time it updates.
Is there any way to stop this from happening without
disabling the system from creating restore points entirely?
    Thanks.

    Thanks.
The HD is 500GB. I think by default 2% or 10GB is reserved for restore points. Once the limit is reached the restore points are overwritten - last in, first out. I have a preferred restore point established that I'd like to be preserved.
My concern is the way in which Windows Update is used to update MSE definitions. Everytime (daily) MSE AV definitions are D/L it creates another restore point. Eventually it will overwrite the restore point I established. I guess I can always remove the restore points MSE creates using CCleaner or use a different AV program but it's something that should have been addressed by MS. They should have provided users with the option of not having MSE create restore points. I know I can always turn the feature off altogether and create restore points manually but there are times when having a restore point created automatically can come in handy - like when installing a program for example.
Aside from this issue I've also noticed other little annoyances throughout the Windows 7 / 64bit - Home Premium OS.
I'm sure I'll discover more annoyances with this OS over time.

  • Re order point checking suring MIGO

    Hello Gurus,
This is a unique requirment I have come across.
On posting the reservation ( MIGO - Goods Issue ), if the quantity has reached the reorder point after saving, it should display a message below, MATERIAL TO BE ORDERED.
    For example:
    Material code - 198345
Re order point in material master - 2
    Stock before posting - 4
    Reservation qty -  3
So once we do the posting, the stock will come down to 1. As this is below the re order point, display a message below, MATERIAL TO BE ORDERED.

    Narendra,
You need to work with a workflow expert to get this done in SAP. To my knowledge it is mostly possible in SAP, if not immediately after GI in MIGO.. the workflow can be triggered to MRP controller when the stock goes below re-order point.
You can post this requirment to ABAP team to get better response,
