Reactivating mifi jetpack 5510 4g lte

can I still activate with original sim ?

Itbtoniw, that is a wonderful question. I want to get you back up and running with your Jetpack as quick as we can. You should be able to use the exact same sim card that you currently have for the device. There could be times where the sim card will not work though. If that is the case, you can always get a new sim card for free at a Corporate Verizon Wireless store if you take the device in with you. • Can send but not receive comcast emails with Verizon MIFI jetpack

I am unable to receive comcast email using outlook 2007 using my new Verizon MIFI4620L Jetpack. When I disconnect from the Jetpack, I am able to receive emails using my neighbor's wireless router. I am able to send email using the MIFI Jetpack. When I test email settings, I am able to connect to comcast and send a test email. I am able to receive the test email from Microsoft. I am able to access email using the internet at comcast.net and I am able to use web browsers using the Mifi device. My other laptop is able to receive and send emails using the MIFI device. I currently have uninstalled Norton Internet Security and disabled windows firewall on the problematic computer in an attempt to resolve this.
    Any ideas?

There seems to be alot of Comcast email issues with the MiFi 4620L.  Most of them have been resolved with the propper configuration.  We have already found a few limitations to certain websites with this device, but none have been confirmed to be related to email services so far.
    Some helpful sites I found:

See if a quick configuration check will resolve your issues from the links I have provided.  If not then the next best step may be reinstalling Outlook on your computer.  Keep us posted either way.

  • I think my mifi jetpack was stolen from my doorstep. now what happens?

The fed ex tracking page says that it was left on the front door step at 11am today. But no one has seen it. No authorization or signature was required and I don't remember being given that option. I'm on the $7/m protection plan and I was being shipped an upgrade device because my old device broke, so I'm covered under the plan. I was told in the store that I have to return my old mifi jetpack very soon or else I'm charged ~$200. So what do I do? It's not business hours currently so I can't call anyone.

I'm sorry to learn of the missing package oakey1! I recommend contacting FedEx at 1.800.463.3339 and report this lost package to start a claim with them.

  • TETHERING vs MIFI jetpack

    Hello,
I just ordered the MIFI JETPACK  for my home. We have a cable service provider here but we live in a Rental home and Directv came out the other day and behind our backs CUT the lines to our Cable CO and tied their lines into our Cable CO's.. When we found out wasnt until the next day when Cable CO came out and told us they cant put in lines due to its a rental and we would have to get the land lord to run them.... GREAT!
So this is my only option due to the fact we dont have a home phone or internet.
I have been TETHERING in via Iphone but its a PAIN due to when you get calls it disconnects you and if I am typing on a forum like this, id loose what I was typing
So question is the MIFI RIGHT for me?
VZ said my are is 4G / LTS EXTENDED.....
am I already in the 2 year agreement? by saying OK on the email before they could ship it out?
    I know teathering is SO SLOW on 3g... I have a Iphone 4 ( 1st edition )
    Please let me know,
    Thanks,
    Christopher

  • MiFi 4510l Set to LTE Only But Switches to 3G Even with Strong Signals

I switched my 4510l to LTE only since it wasn't working properly when set to Global.  It seems to prefer 3G signals when it is in this mode.  Now my problem is the MiFi will switch to 3G even though signals appear to be strong on 4G.  See below.
    Channel: 775 P_REV Indicator: 6 PRL ID: 15010 Band Class Type: US PCS (1900MHz) ERI Version: 4 Dormancy: FALSE Signal - EVDO: -77 dBm Signal - 1X: -92 dBm Signal - LTE: -64 dBmSINR - LTE: 29 dB Battery Level: 2 Battery Charging: 0 Ec/Io : -8.00 dB
Currently, the MiFi is on 3G and not switching back to 4G until I reboot it.

If the MiFi is no longer under warranty then the VZW store reps will not likely be able to help you.  You could try your luck but unless we are overlooking something very simple chances are the random store rep is not going to be of much technical assistance.  Store reps are there to sell devices, not fix them.  You wont get far with phone support either after they discover your device is out of warranty.  Although Phone Support should be able to at least confirm the WiFi password for your device so you can rule out that uncertainty.
A store rep is more likely to assist you with replacement options.  Either upgrading your device to the next one in line or considering replacing it all together with a different model at full retail.  I believe the MiFi 5510L retails at 199.00 and is the cheapest one you can buy at the moment without discounts.
I am unfamiliar with re-flashing the 4510 with the current version of firmware.  Its possible the update will not take because it is unable to overwrite the current version.  I would save that option as a last resort incase it goes bad and really bricks the device.
You might want to try connecting to the MiFi on a different computer just to see if it can be done.  That could help us isolate a problem on your current computer as opposed to the MiFi.

  • Mifi Jetpack only connecting at 3G

I'm paying for 4G but my Jetpack only connects at 3G…and I keep getting overages that are impossible! What gives Verizon??

    Two separate issues here.
First step is to confirm that 4G LTE is actually available in your area.  You can check the coverage map to confirm or preferably check 4G LTE on a separate VZW device.  If there is no service or a service issue then there is nothing you can do about it but move to an area with coverage.  If there is coverage for 4G LTE and your Jetpack is not connecting then perform the various resets followed by contacting VZW for support options.
Data overages is something different.  There isn't a whole lot anyone can do to assist you with data overages.  If VZW says you consumed data then you are liable to cover those costs.  You need to investigate what is going on with your devices and put a stop to the data leak.  Shutting down the Jetpack when it is not in use will help a little but is only a temporary solution.  I suggest starting with the data usage logs and cross referencing the timestamps with who was connected at those times and on what devices.

  • How do I purchase additional data for my Jetpack 5510?

This website was not built with the consumer in mind. It is extremely confusing, inconsistent and does not answer simple questions!! I just want to add data to my Wi-Fi Hotspot, I mean really it's not that complicated, I'm sure. Where do I find it PLEASE?!?!? It is prepaid, I've registered and purchased the initial minutes, but need to add more. I'm traveling and NEED TO REPLENISH ASAP. HELP!!!

    I’m aware of two ways:
Option 1:  Go to any Verizon store and purchase a data plan.
    Option 2:  The $15 $60 $90 refill card from Wal-Mart
    Walmart No.: 550562111
    Model No.: VERIZONBB 17735
(Best Buy and Radio Shack sell the device and may have the card)
    1) Purchase a data plan using the refill card at Wal-Mart
    2) Add the card to your account by calling the number on back
    3) Activate the card by calling back and speaking to an agent (this gets you online)
    4) Tell the agent to setup your online account and email your account password
    5) Go to Verizonwireless.com/account and complete the online account setup
When your data plan runs out, “Verizon QuickAccess” comes up. Once your account setup is complete you can add refill cards and purchase and activate data plans through quickaccess.com without calling Verizon.

  • MiFi 4510L Uplink is slow

I use "Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot MiFi 4510L".
Before, I heard "Download/Uplink is 2-5Mbps, All the time, 24/7" from Verizon chat system.
Therefore, I started use of "Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot MiFi 4510L".
However, the Uplink speed is 0.5Mbps when I measure the speed.
Would someone teach me the solution of this problem?
I want to use Skype(video) to my mother smoothly.

A typical good 3G connection is 1-2 mbps for download and 1mbps for upload.  For most people those speeds will allow them to do whatever they need on the internet.
A typical 4G LTE connection is much better with 10+ mbps for download and 5 mbps on upload.  Your MiFi 4510L is 4G LTE compatible but you must be within range of this network to take advantage of those speeds.
Check the light on the side of your MiFi.  If it is green then you are 4G, if it is purple/pink then you are 3G.  The best way to get your MiFi to perform at the normal level is to run through the various levels of resets.
    Level 1 Reset:
    Power down the MiFi
Let the MiFi sit for 30 seconds
    Power on the MiFi
    Test the connection
    Level 2 Reset:
    Power down the MiFi
    Remove the back cover
    Remove the battery
    Remove the SIM card
Allow the MiFi to sit for 30 seconds
    Reassemble the MiFi
    Test the Connection
    Level 3 Reset
    Power on the MiFi
    Remove the back cover
Press and hold the Reset button next to the battery for 10 seconds
Watch the MiFi E-Ink display to see if all the icons are displayed
    Release the Reset button
    Reassemble the MiFi
    Test your connection

  • Will my 5510L Jetpack ever have useable 4 G connection ?

I have two 4G devices on my plan, A Samsung ATIV phone, and the 5510
l Jetpack, and they are both worthless.  I'm trying to figure out why for $ 285 a month I can't even do basic things like check email.
Right now my 5510 Jetpack has a -96 dbm, In 4G only mode,   I've tried pulling the sim card, and resetting everything ( I do it everyday )   If I switch it to Auto, I am stuck in 3G all the time, I live in a residential neigborhood, less than a mile from a tower.
The phone is no better, 2 bars in 3G, Rarely shows LTE, if it does, its only 1 bar,  Can't call tech support, because I can't keep a call going long enough to get off hold.
Got rid of my land line, when I made the mistake of getting these.
    Any suggestions ?

Today, just to amuse myself, I took the jetpack 5510 with me on a roadtrip,   I took the I-275 loop around Cincinnati ( about a 40 mile trip ), I stopped  every 5 miles to check the signal,   I could never get better than - 96dbm while standing by the side of my car.
I also made a stop in Downtown Cincinnati,  - 102dbm,    On a Saturday, In the heart of the downtown business district,    I'm sure glad I was just checking the signal, and did not actually need to use it to do some work ?
So what is it ?      My device, my location,  a solar flare,  snow buildup on your tower,    did Zombies eat all the wires at Verizon HQ ?
Or, is it the dreaded Network congestion ?   On a Saturday afternoon ?
    I'm at a loss here ?
From your website " The 4G Signal should be greater than -58dbm, a value of -96dbm indicates No signal. Move to another location , preferably an outdoor location. "
I have tried other locations, all over the city, Nothing,
So, If I go to the Verizon store, and buy another new 4G Hotspot tomorrow,    Everything will be PERFECT ?   Right ?
Because that's what your salesperson will tell me ?
Please help me decide what to do, Because my bill is due soon, and I need to decide if I need to pay it ?

  • I have a mifi 2200 that runs 3g. My data plan is unlimited. I've had the plan for years. The problem is my device is damaged and wont charge correctly. I wanted to just outright buy a newer device to replace it with but verizon tells me I cant do that bec

    g

If you purchase any of the 4G LTE capable mobile broadband device (USB modem, mifi, Jetpack, etc), you will be forced to change your data plan to a tiered data plan. The unlimited mobile broadband data was not allowed to be grandfathered in when activating a 4G LTE device. If you really want to keep that plan for the time being, you have to purchase another Mifi2200 from a third party site/seller.

  • Verizon Galaxy Nexus LTE and the iPad

I had Unlimited Data on my VZW account and I have a Verizon Galaxy Nexus (which uses a microSIM)
Would I be able to pop my Nexus sim into the iPad and start using the data from my VZW account on my iPad?
I've swapped SIM's with other 4G phones (Thunderbolt SIM with a MiFi). I get service disruption ocassionaly but a quick reboot fixes it.
I assume that the disruption is caused by software issues on the MiFi or Verizon's LTE service.

Certainly not going to renew with Verizon and I'm in the same boat about jumping ship early.  Depending on the prices, specs, and manufactures of the next crop of Nexus devices will determine if and when I jump ship early.  Never again will I be on a cellular contract or use a locked phone.  Verizon may claim to have the best network, but the other networks are not nearly as bad as Verizon's handling of the Nexus.  The ** about the delays be caused by "extensive" testing sure did a lot of good for the Nexus. Shortly after launch day OTA for bug fixes and then 4.0.4 delayed for 5 months just to get a somewhat more usable radio set.  At least if a straight from Google Nexus has an issue you can expect it to be fixed in days or weeks, not months.

  • My jetpack won't charge. I only use the cable that came with it. and by won't charge, I mean even when plugged in the battery keeps dropping and never goes up.

My MiFi jetpack 6620 doesn't charge. I've plugged it into the charger that comes with it, and only that charger. But nothing happens. The battery keeps getting drained. I first attempted when it was at 16%. After being on the charger a few hours, it dropped to 15%, then 14%. I'm currently at 12%. I've tried different outlets at different locations. And I've tested the charger cable on my phone and it charges that just fine. Which is more likely: the battery is defective or there is a problem with the jetpack itself? and the real kicker is that I've only had it for a week.

Happy Friday cjyoyomasta! I wanted to reach out to you to see if you received the assistance that you need with your jetpack. May I ask have you took the device to the store for assistance? If so, what was the results? If you can provie us with a status update then we can assist, if still needed.
    Thank you…

  • Where is the 'audio alert' to help if jetpack gets lost

If Jetpack 5510 gets lost, it says you can go to the access admin web interface, then from the advance tab, click audio alert, and it will beep for 10 seconds.
    1.  What site address do I initially go to?  my.jetpack?
    2.  I could not find an "advance tab"--where is it?
    3.  Where it asks my admin password, where to I find that?  All I find on my Jetpack is 5 asterisks.
Thank you.  I lost my Jetpack for about an hour last night, while it was still on, and this service sure would have been helpful!

The Web or User Interface or Admin Webpage is: http://www.192.168.1.1
I don't see anything in the Mifi5510L Manual about an audio alert.
The Advanced tab is in Jetpack Settings on the Admin Webpage.

  • Verizon jetpack and Airport

I have a mifi jetpack which I hate but am stuck with. The security is nonexistent and I am in hacker ****. Is there a way to connect it to my Airport and get a decent firewall, plus control over the configuration? Do I want a bridge? Simply plugging the jetpack into Airport with an Ethernet adapter does not work (as I discovered); I need an interface. I would love to drop kick this vile piece of garbage into the open mouth of the lying sleaze who sold it to me, but that's not an option now. Ideas? Thanks.

The airport does not work well with anything but ethernet. If it won't work by ethernet then nothing you do will make it better or more secure..
You might not be totally stuck with the jetpack option though.. there are plenty of 3g/4g wireless routers around .. it could mean removing the SIM and using it in a different modem.. or router but there should be possibilities without being stuck with what you purchased.
