When I am trying activate the funds management under the node
SPRO->Public sector management->Funds Management Government->Actual and Commitment Update/Integration-> Activate/Deactivate Funds Management.

Please check this:
sm30 :View V_T001_FMACT should have 'Maintenance status' set to 'Read and
Change' instead of 'Read Only'.
This table is defaulted to Read only in the standard system
You can make this change through SE11-maint. status here you can change

If i give provision to this group , i only can give read to all the application, so all the cubes are going to have read access.

Only Essbase read access for a Planning App

A user needs access only to read data values from essbase for a planning application. Similar to "View User" in Planning roles except doesn't need access to Planning. How can this be achieved?

I would have thought as it is a planning application then you would need to provision a planning role for the user, the application will be seen as a planning application in shared services and not be under essbase.

As ds store already pointed out, if the drive is formatted as NTFS, you can't write to it. Fortunately, the fix is easy, just erase the hard drive using Disk Utility as Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
I want to back up my computer, and have the ability to archaive files. Any suggestions?
Backups and archival backups are not necessarily the same thing. An archival backup is to be kept indefinitely far into the future, and should never be changed after it is created. That does not mesh well with being on the same drive as a backup maintained day-to-day. Ideally, archival backups should be written to one drive - possibly multiple backups, but each one should never be touched after it is written - and other backups should be maintained with greater frequency on one or more other drives.
You can get a bit of compromise with an incremental backup, like what Time Machine does. That will keep old data as long as there's still free space on the drive, then will start removing the oldest copies of files to make space for newer stuff when necessary. Another alternative is the way Carbon Copy Cloner does incremental backups, where the data keeps piling up until the drive is full and then the backups fail until you remedy the situation. (This could allow you to fill up a drive and then put it on a shelf as an archival backup and start a new backup on a new drive.)
If you can specify more what you want to do, we can advise you better.

How to show a database to a user for which only he has the read access?

We have a SQL Server and it has say 10 datatabases, we have created a login and also a user which has read access to just one of the 10 databases.
I used
use [master]
DENY VIEW ANY DATABASE to msam_test
To hide all the databases from explorer for that user if he logsin with msam_test.Now, i want this user to see a database named suresh3_test for which he has a read access.
Can someone please help me if this is achievable?

hi,
It is not possible to look at one database if the user only have read access in your scenario.
either you revoke the DENY VIEW ANY DATABASE permission, which will list all the databases for the user
or You need to make the user database owner by doing so:
First delete the user from the database
Right click on the database and select properties and change the owner to msam_test as shown in the pic below
But the user will have owner rights on the database.

Urgent reading data frm a website which cn b accessed only by certificate!!

hey guys all I need is to be pointed in a particular direction.
I have to get data from this website(https://oasis.midwestiso.org/documents/miso/outage_reports.asp). The website can be accessed only with a certificate. I have the certificate. So how do I get this data. Meaning do I have to use socket stuff or something. Or a simple setRequestProperty() would do. well the setRequestProperty this is not working. And using an analyzer i cant see how and when the certificate is being sent to the webserver. I checked out ethereal and found out all the actions taken and the encryption used.
So all i need to know is
how to let the website im contacting using my java code know that I have the certificate and validate me or something. Any insight into this woudl be appreaciated.
Any code will be appreciated too. Thanks a lot.

By stating it, you're really saying "my problem is more urgent than other peoples" - which it isn't. It's just bad manners, really. i recently downloaded a game (assassins creed I), i opened it and the intro showed up after that the screen went white, then black and a window came up calld exception raised and then below it, it said, Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000000 at address 0x00aa4088.
i have tried opening it many times and the same results come up.
i've looked everywere and found that other people have had this same problem but no one has fixed it yet

I did try the OP's solution, but it proved to be only temporary. Take a gander at my proposition, and if you are experiencing many issues with your MBA and WiFi Connection, try doing all of the possible fixes located on these forums to see which one (hopefully) works for you. Here's my attempt at a solution.
Well, after toying around with many of the settings on the MBA, I then began to work on the AirPort Extreme (Gigabit Version) and I discovered that the MBA would only connect when I selected "Interference Robustness" when configuring the MBA. This made a difference no matter what "Wireless Mode" the AE was in, be it 802.11n(b/g) Support, plain 802.11n(5Ghz), ect. So, try that out if you have an AirPort Extreme/Express and MBA, and post your results. The MBA is running 10.5.5 with only one update remaining (10.5.6).
{This has posted in various threads by me, myself, and I, and I am only reposting so that many threads are aware of this. Hope it helps at least one person.}

Users with read access to the site unable to view Managed Metadata Navigation

Hi everyone,
I created a Managed Metadata service and created group, term-set and terms
I gave read access to users
I set up navigation to use Managed Navigation
I am logged in as farm admin and able to view the navigation when i browse site. But user are not seeing navigation.
One thing i noticed is when i give users full access or designer access to site they will be able to see the navigation. but i don't want to give users full access or designer access to the site.
How can users with read only access to site can view Managed Metadata Navigation...Please help?

Have you given your users permissions to actually read the MMS data from the service application?

...any app launched from /Applications holds only the permissions of the user launching the app, regardless of the owner (presumably because anyone, including "root" can install applications into /Applications).
It has nothing to do with where the application is installed. Any executable runs with the permissions of the user who runs it. The only exception is a binary executable with the SUID or SGID bit set, and then only if it's on the root device, and only if it's not an Aqua application. The SG/UID bits are ignored otherwise.
So, anyone who has installed Wireshark from the "native .dmg" by drag-and-dropping won't be able to use the suid trick because the OS will ignore the suid permissions.
Sorry, I don't understand this at all. Wireshark invokes dumpcap as a child process to capture packets. If dumpcap is installed anywhere on the root device as SUID root, then it will run as root regardless of who invokes it.
The suid method will only work for Macports and Fink installations...
That's not correct. There are many SUID or SGID executables in a default installation of the Mac OS, and none of them comes from MacPorts or Fink.

Windows 7 on Mac Pro, Local Access Only, No Internet

Installed Windows 7 on my 2.66 Quad Mac Pro. Whenever I boot, the network adapter icon in the traybar comes up with a yellow slash through it that says "Local Access Only" Looked into troubleshooting, turning off Network power management, turning off IP6, etc... No fixes. I can browse my local area network but not the internet.
When I boot in safe mode with networking, the error does not show on the network taskbar icon and I can browse the internet just fine.
Here's the temporary fix that I found works every time in standard boot mode.
1. Assign a manual IP address to the network adapter. (192.168.1.160). (make sure the IP is in your DHCP Scheme and the IP is available (no other devices using that IP)
2. It will automatically assign a subnet (255.255.255.0)
3. Close the networking window.
4. Right click on the network icon with the yellow through it in the task bar and click "Troubleshoot problems"
5. It will come up quickly with a fix (saying you should not be using a manual IP). Click "Apply Fix" then windows 7 will put the computer back to DHCP Mode.
6. Try it now. Everything should be working.
No permanent fix on this yet but when a new boot camp 3.1 network driver comes out, hopefully it should fix it. If anyone else has a permanent solution, it would be appreciated.

My thought - because the only issues I've had personally with Vista/7 have had to do with modems and routers, and went away once I upgraded those. Sometimes there are firmware updates to deal with new OS.
Your post didn't seem to mention wired/wireless or modem and router in place.
you might want to look for an Intel driver. Also, you must have had network to install and update Windows 7, look to rollback the network driver if possible, or uninstall + restart and let Windows reinstall a device driver.

Possibility to limit runtime prompt members to write access only ?

Here is my issue :
In my Planning application in 9.3.1, each user have a write access on a defined entity perimeter but a read access on all the dimension.
If I create a BR with a runtime prompt asking on which entity deleting data for example, I need tu guarantee that the user can only choose his write access permiter and not all the entity.
I didn't find anything in this forum or in the doc about this, so your advices will be welcome !

In this case you need to have multiple copies of the business rule (one for each entity). Then sssign the run permissions only to user groups that are allowed to delete data for that entity.
Example:
Users
- User 1 - Group US
- User 2 - Group US
- User 3 - Group EU
Business Rules:
-Cleandatata US (permission for group US)
-Cleandatata EU (permission for group EU)
The entity needs to be preselected in the business rules.
As an administrator, you will see all of the business rules listed - as a user, only those with permissions.

01. You need to create a procedure to check the permission based on the username and returnm true or false based on the user access.
Then in the form, In "When-New-Form_Instance" trigger call that and check wheher user has permission or not.
If not show a error and then call "Exit_Form" in-built function.
02. Other alternative way you can do is to add some code to logon screen and then hide unwanted menu items dynamically

I created a user with CREATE SESSION,SELECT ANY TABLE privilege. My objective is to create a user with read only access to other schemas. But the newly created user is not able to read procedures,function,packages and triggers. The new user need read access to procedures,function,packages and triggers. What is the priviege required for this access? Please help me to resolve this issue.

No read access to field string MKPF in SLIN

while checking my program through extended program check it is giving warning message as "No read access to field string MKPF" in the TABLES statement. How to correct this?

The system is just only giving warning as if said to you:
- Hey Abaper! You have declared to use the headerline of MKPF, but perhaps you aren't using it. Check your code and if you don't use you delete that declaretion.
So if you don't use MKPF in your program, you can delete the declaretion, if you use it you can do nothing or you put the string "#EC NEEDED at the end of declaretion. If you do it, while checking program through extend program check, the system skips that message and doesn't show you.
We often use header line of dictionary table only to do an existence query, in this case the system can give that warning message.
For example:
TABLES: BKPF.
SELECT SINGLE * FROM BKPF WHERE BUKRS = P_BUKRS
                            AND BELNR = P_BELNR
                            AND GJAHR = P_GJAHR.
IF SY-SUBRC = 0.
WRITE: 'Hello'.
ENDIF.
So I made a query on bkpf, but after I haven't read or used its headerline, so the system give me that message.
If I write:
