Hi,
the SDK comes with the product. (e.g. BO Enterprise Server, Crystal Reports, Crystal Reports Server). Without the server or at least a Crystal Reports Developer edition with license you can not do anything with the SDK...

How to find business object for particular tcode at particular event

Hi,
I want to know how i can find particular business object for particular tcode for certain event?
For example suppose for tcode PA40, if i create infotype for employee and when i save it after creating it then it must be stored in certain object. How i can find business object where all data realted to emp. get saved?

Hi Parag,
To get the business object for given transaction,
1) Go to transaction SWELS
2) Switch on the event trace.
3) Go to the given transaction (For which you want to know the business object)
4) Execute the transaction
5) Go back to SWELS and Switch off the event trace
6) Go to transaction SWEL.. Here you will get the Business Object name (one which starts with BUS)

How to find Business objects for any transcation..... and how to connect the Work flow to any Trancation so that for example any body changes the date of Birth ...... so that the work flow should trigger .

For finding business object,you can try transaction SWO4 and by checking the documentation in it you can find your required business object.
Another method is:
1) Go to Trx SWE4 and switch on the event trace.
2) Run your transaction which you want to use for triggering your workflow.
3) Run transaction SWEL and find your Business Object and related event in it.
For connnecting your WF to your transaction you have to create a start event in your WF in SWDD,where in you specify the Business Object and start event which you find using above method.
Eg.You want your WF to be triggered whenever you have an error in your idoc.For this your BO will be IDOCAPPL and your event will be (inputErrorOccurred).This you will give in header data in SWDD.

Performance issue with Business Objects Java JRC API in CRXI R2 version

A report is developed using java JRC API in CR XI release 2. When I generate the report in the designer, it took less than 5 seconds to display the results in crystal report viewer inside the designer. But in the QA environment, when I generate the same report from the application, it takes almost 1 to 1.5 minutes to display the same results in PDF. I also noticed that if the dataset contains bigger volume of data, then the reports are taking even longer almost 15 to 20 minutes.
While generating the report from the application, I noticed that most of time is taken during the execution of the com.crystaldecisions.report.web.viewer.ReportExportControl Object method as shown in following line of code
exportControl.processHttpRequest(request, response, context, null)
We thought the delay in exporting the report to PDF might be the layout of the report and data conversion to PDF for such a bigger volume of data.
Then we investigated the issue and experimented quickly to generate the same report with same result set data from the application using XML, XSL and converted the output XSL-FO to PDF using Apache FOP (Formatting Objects Processor) implementation. The time taken to export the report to PDF is less than 6 seconds. By doing this experiment, it is proved that the issue is not with conversion of data to PDF but it is the performance problem with Business Objects Java JRC API in CR XI R2.
In this regard, I searched for the above issue in the SAP community Network Forums -> Crystal Reports and Xcelsius -> Java Development -> Crystal Reports. But I did not find any answers or solutions for this kind of issue in the forums.
Any suggestion, hint in this matter is very much appreciated.

Ted, The setReportAppServer problem is resolved. Now I could able to generate the report with hardcoded values in the SQLs in just 6 seconds where as the same report was generated in CRXI R2 in 1 minute 15 seconds as mentioned in the earlier message.
But, our exisiting application passes the parameter values to the SQLs embedded in the report. For some reason the parameters are not being passed to the report and the report displays only the labels without data.
As per the crj 12 samples codes, the code is written as shown below.
1. Created ReportClient Document
2. SetReportAppServer
3. Open the report
4. Getting DatabaseController and switching the database connection at runtime
5. Then setting the parameters as detailed below
ParameteFields parameterFieldController = reportClientDoc.getDataDefController().getParameterFieldController();
parameterFieldController.setCurrentValue("", "paramname",paramvalue);
parameterFieldController.setCurrentValue("", "paramname",paramavalue);
byteArrayInputStream = (ByteArrayInputStream)reportClientDoc.getPrintOutputController().export(ReportExportFormat.PDF);
6. Streaming the report to the browser
Why the parematers are not being passed to the report? Do I need to follow the order of setting these parameters? Did I miss any line of code for setting Params using crj 12?
Any help in this regard would be greatly appreciated.

Hello All,
I am a SAS Programmer working in Pharmaceutical Industry of lately developed Interest to learn new Database OALP tools and I thought Business Object would be best for my field. As I know nothing about this tool/language I want your advice from BO gurus where I can start transaction from. I hear lot of things like Crystal reports Web reports BI . So any can help me where I can start and what should I start (Something like Start Crystal reports then BO ). Any good books for absolute beginners and if there is Place for tutorials and Place of software download Please.
I know it is one of the most mundane and stupid questions to ask but I would really appreciate a detailed response with Links.

Sap Script - Where to find "bipmap" objects.

In a window of the Sap Script I find this code:
BITMAP EC_LG_0020 OBJECT GRAPHICS ID BMAP TYPE BMON
INCLUDE EC_ST1_0020 OBJECT TEXT ID ST LANGUAGE IT PARAGRAPH H1
My question: where can I find the objects saved on the Sap System, like EC_LG_0020?
If I launch the tcode SO10 I can find only the object EC_ST1_0020.
Any help will be well appreciated.

All Images in SAP can be Found using SE78 Tcode , based on the whether it is Color or Blackn white image u can search in this Tcode.
And all Standard texts can be found using SO10 tcode..

Business Object name for BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT is BapiService and object type is SAP0001.
To find the business object name:
First we have to find the development class for that FM BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT in attributes tab in SE37 later
go to SWO1 T.code and press F4 there give the development class it will list the object types
and then go to BAPI T.Code and Click Find Button give the Business Object Type and select Business Object Type Radio Button
then u can find the Business Object Name and all details.

Rosetta does not run the following:

Code written specifically for AltiVec
Code that inserts preferences in the System Preferences pane
Applications that require a G4 or G5 processor
Applications that depend on one or more kernel extensions

Bundled Java applications or Java applications with JNI libraries that can’t be translated
Classic is just not supported.
It is clear that apps that need the G4, G5 or Altivec Code won't run under Rosetta.

Call transaction SE16 for table SWOTLV and use the following selection:
ABAPTYPE = 'F' " function module
ABAPNAME = <name of BAPI, e.g. BAPI_PO_CREATE1>
This returns the business objects
BUS2012
FREBUS2012
on ERP 6.0.
