Read from multiple folders

hi all,
We have a requirement in our project to poll some 28 sub-folders and as soon as a file is placed in any of the folders, we need to place it in a JMS queue (one queue for all the sub-folders). Currently, we have used 28 file adapters and corresponding 'Pick' activities to poll the files.
Please suggest any better solution, if any of you encountered a similar solution.

Whcih SOA Suite version You are using ? I could find from old forum post that we have recursive attribute in file adapter in 11g. More details at poll a folder dynamically file adapter

First highlight all of the folders or files. If they're not right next to each other, or on the same drives, hold down the Command key while clicking to choose the next without losing previous choices.
Once they're all highlighted, right click on any highlighted item and choose "Compress xxx Items".

Yes you can but you have to add the images from the various events or albums to a single slideshow.
Create your slideshow, then drag all the images you want in that slideshow to the slideshow on the left hand side.

When you go to play the slideshow you can click on settings and make sure the "repeat" option is checked.

Hi Prasad,
to pick the files from multiple source directory, can use "Advance Selection for Source File" in Sender CC.
If you wand to develop a Scenario without Message mapping, develop a scenario as "Sender as Virtual receiver"
This option is available in Sender agreement, just give the dummy name for Msg Interface and Namespace, Name defined should be same in Rec Agreement.
Develop only: Sende CC, Receiver CC, SA, RA
No need to develop ID and RD as no mapping is involved.
If u want to send the files to different folders of receiver side, just develop the adapter module which changes the directory based on the sender filename.
If the sender and receiver directory is same than check the "adapter specific Msg Attribute" and "directory" checkbox in both the sender and receiver CC. in this case no need to develop Custom module for changing the directory. files will be automatically placed in the path they were picked from sendor directory

Import 800K photos (many duplicates) into Aperture from multiple folders in one hard drive.

I have a hard drive with 800,000+ photos in it, many are duplicates after I have made multiple back-ups to different drives over the years and then transferred all the photos to this new drive. The photos are located in different folders but are all in the same hard-drive. How do a import the photos in the easiest/fastest way? How will they get sorted, by date? Is there anyway that I could delete the duplicates without losing photos? I have many photos with the same file name (but from different cameras), tumbnails, edited photos etc.

Hi,
You can import photos from multiple folders.
Just click File >> Get Photos and Videos >> From Files and Folders
Now select the folders you want to import photos from (they should be at same level in the directory, say all folders in My Pictures) using Ctrl+Click, tick the checkbox for 'Get Photos from subfolders' if not already checked and then click 'Get Media'.

JDBC outbound reading from multiple tables

Hi,
I have a scenario in which I have to read data from multiple tables.
The keys of these tables (employee details) are dependent on a employee master table.
Now there is a 1-N relationship between master and the details table. I have to send the data to an IDOC.
I am stuck since reading from all the tables at the same time is not possible.

Keeping Library up to date from multiple folders

How do I get iTunes to consistently check in multiple folders (which I designate) for any newly added songs or videos? (So far having to do it manually)

If you want newly added songs or videos to go into a seperate playlist you should make a smart playlist. Make a smart playlist by clicking file in the top corner of itunes the click new smart playlist and make the rules on how to pick the songs, the songs will atomaticaly update.

Import images from multiple folders at once?

I know that Lightroom handles this as expected, but I cannot work out how to get Aperture to import everything within a folder including all of it's subfolders. For example, my photos are organised by Lightroom in folders per day, eg. 2006-10-12. It's getting tedious having to go through every single folder to import, but if I try selecting multiple folders, or the folder that contains these then none of the photos appear. What is the solution?

Try File->Import->Folders as Projects... and in the Pop-up menu you can choose Import Folders as: Projects and Albums or Folders and Projects from the drop down. You can also choose the sub folder structure. You should be able to choose multiple folders and have all the folders and sub folders organized the way you want. Give it a test try before committing a large number.

PSE9 - can a slide show be created from multiple folders in folder order?

I keep my pictures in folders by year. In all other releases of Photoshop Elements I could select keywords, display them from all folders, then create a slide show from all folders in file name within folder order. Is this still possible in PSE9? I tried sorting them in the Quick Reorder screen and couldn't figure out what order it put them in. I find it frustrating having to rearrange all the pictures.

If you are looking for a way to show files in date order then you can do so using the option Media Browser arrangement shown on top right of image well. You can choose Date Newest First or Oldest First as required. In folder view of PSE 9 you will be shown files that have been i mported from that folder only. You can turn on the timeline(Ctrl + L) to navigate between folders.

Items from multiple folders into one?

Any programs that can move thing's out of multiple folders into one?
I'm thinking in particular iPhoto, roll folders with images inside, want to move them all out and into one folder. I would rather not go through each one and move manually as could take a while, especially if there are say hundreds of folders each with photos inside i want to move into one.
Must be a program or something that will do it?

How to Read from multiple channels

I am acquiring data using FP-RTD-122 using OPC Client software. I ahve made one socket for that and i am using command

where v is a variant type.But this is 8-channel RTD so how can i read values from all channels using single socket connection Because at presnt i have to use 8 sockets for all eight channels.

At least as of FieldPoint 4.0 and earlier (I do not know about 4.0.1 or later), the OPC Server did not support multiple channel analog items. Thus to read all eight channels of a FP-RTD-122 module, you would need 8 separate socket connections. For discrete modules (boolean), the "All" tag, is treated as a single 8 or 16 bit number.

Moving files from multiple folders

I have just used Techtool Pro 5 to restore animation data files from an unmountable external drive. Every individual frame of a sequence has been put into a seperate folder by Techtool.
Can I use Automator (or another app) to move each file into one folder.
There are 5500 folders, so this might take a while manually.

But unix commands rsync or ditto can do exactly that with a lot more options ???

Applescript to email files from multiple folders

I have a dictaphone that stores recordings in 5 folders. When I connect the dictaphone, it downloads all recordings to respective Folders A through to E. I need the script/s to check each folder for files and automatically email them off then move them to a sent folder. Each folder can contain one or more recordings.
What I find with my script below is that when I apply it to each folder, one of two things will happen. Either all the files from one folder will get sent and moved or the first file from each folder gets sent and moved. Everything else stays where it is.
I'm beginning to think the trigger "on adding folder items" might not be the best way to achieve this. Perhaps I should link it to checking for the dictaphone being plugged in then scan all subfolders for files.

Read from multiple record stores sequentially

I am a newbie using OEID 3.0 and CloverETL to store some crawled data (using IAS) in the data domain. I am crawling each website in a separate record store, and I've encountered this problem in CloverETL I can't resolve:
So I have multiple record stores (e.g., rs1, rs2,..., rs1000), and what I need to do is to run a graph (the same graph) sequentially for all these record stores, through changing the record store name in "Record Store Reader" component. The graph simply stores the RS data in a data domain. Could you help me how to achieve this? Basically I need a loop to rerun the graph each time through changing the "Record Store Instance" property at each iteration.

I noticed you said you were doing website crawls with IAS (as opposed to CMS or FileSystem crawls). Personally, when crawling website, I always prefer to output the crawl to XML instead of a recordstore. Since webcrawls do not have any CDC mechanism (change data capture) you're really left conducting the whole crawl every time as there is no way to detect website page change to only crawl what's changed incrementally. For FileSystem crawls and CMS crawls, recordstores are very handing in accomplishing and tracking the incremental change.
So, if you do decide, like me, to output to XML for your website crawls, you can forego the RS read and simply use a XML reader to pick up multiple XML files.

Batch processing / Creating Pdf from multiple folders

Need to convert some 50 folders each containing 100 jpg files into pdf. Up to now I made this via "Create pdf" each folder separately.. I tried to do this as a whole via "batch processing" but the sequences in there do not foresee the automatic creation of these folders. Any solution to this ?
Am working with Adobe Acrobat 8.0 Pro and Windows Vista Ultimate

can you move all the folders to a main folder then you can have the batch point to the main folder then create another folder for the pdf to go into.
