Read item, return to previous position

I like being able to swipe through the feed results and read items. But when I go back to the results, I am returned to the start of the results, rather than the last position I was browsing them.
In other words, I have to scroll through to the feed results to the article I just left, to continue reading new content.
I would be great to return to where I was last reading the feed results.

Apparently I don't use Itunes the way the majority of people do becuase this makes Itunes worthless to me and I am irate- I have spent hours and hundreds of dollars on my Itunes library and now it is virtually unusable to me. I upload a CD and want to flip between that and the songs list to confirm no problems in the upload and can't without scolling every time. I just added a book and wanted to reorganize other books in the series to accomodate but, of course, everytime I go to a playlist I have to scroll again when I go back to my "songs" library.
Itunes already was only passable and made my computer run slow. I feel like Mac is essentially screwing me with a poor product since at this time it looks like to me that I'd have to walk away from all my Itunes store purchases to switch to a software that acutally works.
If I was responsible for software this crappy and incompatable I'd be embarassed.

IPhone audiobooks randomly return to previous position

I have an iPhone 4 with iOS 7.0.4. Audiobooks seem to randomly return at an earlier position in the audiobook. For instance, I could be in my car and start the audiobook at 1:15:13. When I get to my destination the audiobook is at 1:49:33. When I continue listening at a later time the audiobook will start at 1:15:13. I fast forward to the point I was at when I left my car and continue listening. Later in the day when I play it again it starts at 1:15:13.
This seems to happen randomly, and not dependent on how many apps are running in the backround, or whether or not I am charging the iPhone, or if I am using headphones or Bluetooth. This happened with iOS 7.0.1 as well and I NEVER had this problem prior to iOS 7. These are m4v files that I set to remember position and change the media type to Audiobook in iTunes.
Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have found that there are only two sure ways around the forgetting position issue: write your position down on a piece of paper before shutting off the audio app/phone, or noting where you are when first restarting to play. The first one is pretty obvious, but the second is not. I have noticed that nearly every time (maybe all times) the phone has lost an audio book position over the last 5-6 years or so, the audio player has correctly displayed its position up until I press play. After hitting play, there is about a 5% chance that the location counter will jump to some random spot. By that I mean, let’s say I resume playing my book when I go to lunch. I turn on the phone and enter the Apple audio player (if not already there – it makes no difference) and note the location. I say it aloud to help me remember it such as “3 minutes into track 4 on disk 8.” I then pay close attention when I press play, and look for the location to jump somewhere. If it does, I go back to where I was. This sounds easy, but is not possible to do all of the time.

(https://discussions.apple.com/message/5084277#5084277 for example) The iPhone’s audio player app has changed over the years (getting worse and worse) with different versions of iOS, but this issue has remained constant. History shows that Apple has never cared enough to fix it. The bug remains even with different 3rd party players (I am not sure about Audible). There may be other issues that we are uncovering with our particular/individual methods, but I swear that if one does everything right, this underlying problem still remains.
I am mostly an Overdrive user and have listened two hours per day 5 days a week over the last 7 years or so. The only things I have learned about Apple’s audio book player are that:
• It has this basic bug mentioned above
• The apple player app gets worse and worse with each iOS version
• Apple does not care enough about us to fix it
• It does no good to give feedback bout this issue – nothing happens
• It does no good when we start “everybody complain” campaigns.
• There have been thousands of hours of people writing about this bug that could probably be fixed in a few tens of hours.
• I have heard dozens of “Fixed it. All you have to do is…” and none have panned out yet. Due to its intermittent nature the bug can disappear for a week and then come back as bad as ever.
I now wait before I upgrade my phone to see if anything has changed for the better – never has. I am currently stuck on iOS 6 as I do not have the patience to scrub-search the entire book every time the audio player looses its position. Someday I will find a user friendly audio book player that will work with Overdrive. I would expect that there should be a Chrome or Windows based product somewhere, but I have not yet seen it.
I hate to sound like an Apple basher because I am not - at least about most things. But this issue really bothers me. Some day Apple will wake up and discover that the way to loose 30,000,000 customers is 1 at a time.

How to return to previous pages without going back one at a time

I do a lot of work on ebay and have to return to previous searches or pages and I used to be able to have a button that would show all the previous pages and I could go down the list and click on it. The only option I have now is to go into history and it only shows recent pages and it's for ALL the tabs open. I want just the tab for ebay previous pages. For instance if I go to ebay sold and relist an item it takes me through the prompts and if I want to return to ebay sold I want a drop down showing that option. I no longer see one. This normally wouldn't be too much of an issue except that the ebay sold is on ebay.com and relist is on ebay.ca so I like to go back to the previous page instead of going to bookmarks, ebay, my ebay, sold etc to get there again. I recently tried sending myself an email through Thunderbird to another email account to see if that was the case, but the email came in with a font so tiny that it was unreadable. I had chosen a font type and size (arial 10) and just coming into my outlook inbox was virtually unreadable.
And referring to the person I work with, she doesn't have problems getting anyone else's emails, just ones I send from Thunderbird.

You cannot return to previous state. The update re-locked the iPhone
to the original carrier. You must contact the original carrier to see if
they offer unlocking and if you qualify.
What does it say when you look at Settings=>General=>Carrier?
Be advised that if your iPhone had previously been hacked/modified/
jailbroken to work with other than original carrier, it may be impossible
for the original carrier to unlock it properly.

How can I return to previous page? There used to be an arrow in upper left side of screen that would allow this, but it has disappeared.

I have the latest version of Firefox, 5.0 installed today, but no arrow in upper left part of screen that previously would let me return to previous page.

On my machine I just hit shift-command-j (the keyboard shortcut I assigned in System Preferences) and a list of the sheets in the current document pops up:
I type a number from the list and jump immediately to that sheet. The hands never have to leave the keyboard.
(This particular document had a sheet named for each month. But the sheets in your document automatically will be listed instead.)
This is done via a Jump to Sheet Automator Service (Dropbox download). To install just doubleclick the .workflow package and (if needed) click 'Download Anyway' in System Preferences > Privacy & Security.
Installation will cause a new item to appear in your Numbers > Services menu. Then, if you want a keyboard shortcut, go here in System Preferences and add one:
You can rename or remove the service by holding down the option key in Finder and choosing Go > Library > Services. You can also view the AppleScript contaned within the service by opening the .workflow package in Automator.
Note, also, that in Numbers 3 you don't have to use those left-right arrows upper right to slowly scroll left-right to the sheets that are out of view. Just move your cursor up to the "band" with the "tabs" and drag left or right. That's much faster than using the arrows.

How do I prevent users from returning to previous pages in a PDF with fill-in-forms?

I am creating a presentation in Adobe Acrobat Pro and there is a test at the end. I do not want users returning to previous pages to find answers. How do I do this?

It can be done with a script, but it's not really a good way of doing it... The user can always close the file, re-open it and see the answers. They can also disable JavaScript and then do whatever they want. I suggest you think of another way of setting this up.

How can I get rid of the "Return to Previous Session" tab.

When I close out Firefox.......anyone can go to the computer and hit the "return to previous session" tab and connect with what I was currently working on.....or where I was....or....you can see where I'm going with this. I would like to just have the tab removed so my privacy is maintained.

You can use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the browsing history if you close Firefox.

Get an item at a particluar position in Advanced Datagrid

I want to access some property of an item lying at nth position in an advanced datagrid. I was not able to find any method which can return me this result. getChildAt method returns display objects of the adv DG and not the items in it. Also numChildren poperty returns number of display objects and not the number of rows.

You MUST get it from the dataProvider. That is the only place the data exists. You can use the DataGrid events to return the row and column indexes into the dataProvider item.
Or you can get a reference to the renderer, and then get to the dataprovider item through the data property. Or through your own property if it is a custom renderer.
But one way or another, you must get to the dataProvider item.
I do not recall the syntax, look into the dataGrid events in the docs.

Ok. I disabled hardware acceleration. The only extension is the McAfee Scriptscan for Firefox 15.1.0, which was already disabled. I then disabled all plugins (Acrobat, Google Update, Intel Identity Protection (2x), Java Deployment Toolkit, Java Platform, MS Office 2013, Quicktime, Shockwave, Silverlight), which were all up to date.
Normal or safe mode still has same result. No startup, no option button and no customize.

Very Important, how much Free Space is on your Hard Drive first of all? Click on the Macintosh HD on the Desktop, then do a Get Info on it.
Could be many things, we should start with this...

1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
Do they launch OK while in Safe Mode?

Record narration in Powerpoint 2013 with returns to previous slides

I am trying to record narration on a Powerpoint slide show (Powerpoint 2013). However I discovered that I can go only forward with slides. When I return to a previous slide the audio simply overwrites the narration of the first visit to the slide.
I s there any way to have Powerpoint store multiple audio segments and the timing on returning to previous slides ?

Could you please tell me how do you record narration in PowerPoint 2013? Do you use record slide show from Slide Show?
If yes, it records narration on each slide not by time. This is why you return to a previous slide the audio simply overwrites the narration of the first visit to the slide.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Unless your phone connects to a cellular or wifi network while still using your iCloud account, it won't show it's location in Find my phone.
