Read Mode Navigation Block

Is it possible to use the read mode as set in the InfoObject maintainance in the navigation block of a web application?
The Parameter BOOKED_VALUES can only be set to either M,D or Q and this setting is valid vor all InfoObjects.
I don't want to use BOOKED_VALUES_N to specify the read mode for each object but use the read mode as set in the infoobject maintainance.

There is a setting in SPRO to change the Read mode of the InfoProvider Properties.
What is the impact of changing to 'Query to read all data at once'?
Reporting Agent -
I enabled 'Precalculated Data' for web template read mode. I ran the reporting agent to pre-calculate data.
I am trying to test whether if the data is pre-calcualated then will the improve the performance of the hierarchy.
IMPACT -
1. All th other navigation options are diaslbed, like 'arrow mark' to open web item tray.
2. Hierarchy nodes are not opening.
3. Context menu got disabled
It looks like a complete static report.
Did someone experienced this problem?

How to hide "Read mode navigation" . In my application i am opening pdf file in light box window where i disable right click to protect download and print pdf file( only View ). but This Read mode navigation is appearing automatically when we put curson on file even if we protect the document. I have purchased Acrobat professional xi to created protected acrobat file by disabling menu tool bar but there is no option to hide readmode navigation. Please let us know how to hide this.

If you want the form "flattened", that is all form fields converted to PDF context, you need to use some JavaScript to flatten the form fields. This will remove all form functionality. It will not prevent editing by Acrobat's text touchup or object tools.
The "submit" button is used by other users to sent the PDF form data to a central collection site or email address where the sender or provider of the form can collect the submitted data.
You could also use a digital certificate to sign the form and lock the fields. The signature will also verify that no changes have been made to the PDF since it was signed and one could also see what was changed.

Hierarchy Expand & Navigation Block Filtering Operation

Hi,
I've got an "System error in program SAPLRRK0 and form CACHE_UNLOCK_FF-01-" when I expand a characteristic hierarchy in a report and right after that perform filtering on the same characteristic using the generic navigation block of the same report.
"Diagnosis:
This internal error is a targeted termination since the program has an incorrect status.
Procedure:
Analyse the situation and inform SAP.

When you expand a node, the data of the lower-level nodes belonging to this node is added to the data of the previous node displayed if the query has read mode 'H'. This large data object was previously flagged as invalid in this case. The error then occurred when it was unlocked.

Read mode - Web template Vs Characteristics

Hello,
I am using a web template in version 3.1. I have some navigation attributes. To try to enhance the display of filters value for some characteristics I changed in the web template the read mode from Q (posted values) to M (master data).
Unfortunately I see that the filter is still using read mode method Q. I have seen that this customizing exists also in RSA1 at the charcateristics level. If they are different, do you know which settings is used in the end ? Characteristics or web template ?

I can't find the READER Mode in the Search window? I'm using OS X 10.10.1 and Sarfari 8.02

Once in a Web-Site, if I wish to read an article I could click on the READER box in the Search Window and just the article would come forward blocking out everything else.

If an article is "Reader" capable, a 3½ bars gray icon will appear at the left most part in address bar
Click it and it will turn black indicating that the article is in Reader mode.

Hi Nagar,
On the Query Properties dialog box for the query monitor you can make settings for a BW query with regard to the read mode. You can switch off the default Parallel Processing for queries on a MultiProvider. For queries with virtual characteristics or key figures you are able to activate the use of the cache, which is deactivated by default. If you activate the display of the generation log you are able to display a log in which you can see the reasons why the query in question was generated again. You do this afterwards using the generation log pushbutton.

The read mode determines how the OLAP processor gets data during navigation. You can set the mode in Customizing for an InfoProvider and in the Query Monitor for a query.

According to your description, there is a main report with more than 100 rows of summary information, when users click the item of the row, the report need to jump to detail information shows as graph. The problem you are facing is that you are not sure
subreport, drilldown or drillthrough report should be used? You hope to set display detail information in the main report and keep high performance of report.
In Reporting Services, each subreport instance is a separate query execution and a separate report processing task. Subreports are recommended when there are just a few subreport instances. We should not use subreports inside a group when there are many
group instances, instead, consider using drillthrough reports. Drilldown reports process all data even when the data is first hidden. In order to improve the performance of the report, we can split drilldown reports into parameterized drillthrough reports,
because Drillthrough reports do not run until a user clicks the drillthrough link in the main report.
In this case, we can consider using drilldown or drillthrough report. In drilldown report, when we click a plus or minus button to expand or collapse a section of a report, the detail data will be displayed in place. By using drillthrough report, when we
click the link in the main report, the detail data will be displayed, we can come back to the main report by click return button in the drillthrough report.

BEx - empty value(#) in navigation Block (filter)

Hello experts,
i have navigation attribute in navigation block (query). It means that data in filter are read directly from master.
This nav. attribute has 2 compounded IOs.
i can see value in filter as below.
#/#/001
#/#/002
#/#/003
1/2/004
2/3/005
The values #/#/001, #/#/002, ... are stored in master data table. I would like to see only rows where fields are filled (1/2/004, 2/3/005, ...).
Do you have any idea ?
Maybe it's possible to supress these values in Info Object - folder "Master Data" - "Master Data Access" - "Own Implementation" - class

Remove Read Mode Hovering Toolbar from Local Installation

You can just jump to the below red colored question if you don't want to read the supporting description.
I prefer to read PDF documents especially long ones in a non-disturbing manner.
More like in a clean look that is trending with cleaner designs in MS Office, Win 8, and others.
Here is an example of kind of view I am talking about that I would like.
We can get up to this point with few simple key stokes, Ctrl+H (Read Mode) would hide your side navigation tab and your main toolbar.
F9 would hide your Menu bar. Now all you have is the title bar, scrolling bar, and the bottom highlighted hovering toolbar.
Granted that yes you can move around the hovering toolbar by simple dragging and that it fades in-out but with any mouse movement it appears back on.
Yes its useful for controls, but if I want any I can just press Ctrl+H and/or F9 and it will bring me all the controls necessary.
I can use full screen mode yes for removing all the excess visuals and purely focus on the document but I can't select text or do any other things unless I come out of the full screen mode, which then destroys the purpose of clean look bringing back to normal look.
QUESTION
How to remove the Hovering Toolbar from the read mode?
We are not talking about embedding setting in a PDF so that it would do that on any computer but configure my local computer's Adobe Reader so that every time I go into read mode I wouldn't have to see the above highlighted hovering toolbar.
If there is some simple setting to disable it that's great, if I would have to do some destructive work and remove code/files to get rid of the hovering toolbar that's fine too.

as per the customer requirement . they have bex report we need to convert in to web. but in the bex for one field they using default filters but am not aware in the WEB reports.
Please anyone suggest me how to give the default filter values in the navigation block in WAD.

Hi,
In the Properties of the Navigation Block pane. Goto WebItem-- Goto List of Characteristics, in that click list it will pop up new window, there enter the required objects wants to be in the default filter area.

Read Mode missing buttons

As of this morning i'm missing the page number and up and down arrows in the tranluscent hovering Read Mode when viewing PDF's in a browser
i have checked/done the following
I clicked on the Show Reader toolbar (icon
on the very right) and then right clicked on the toolbar and selected Reset
toolbars.
Same as above but instead went to Page
Navigation and then chose Reset Page Navigation Tools

The easiest thing to start with is to reset the Eraser Tool.
Right click on the Eraser icon in the tool options bar and then click on Reset Tool.

Navigation block in WAD gives an error

Hi experts,
i added a u201Enavigation block u201E into an existing web template.
If I run Template with u201Cexecute in Browser u201C button in WAD. Everything is ok. I see the navigation block and I can work with it .
But if I run the template on company portal and filter an infoobject in navigation block, I get this error message.
"Field symbol is not yet assigned" / GETWA_NOT_ASSIGNED.
The current ABAP program "CL_UC_MD_CHAR=================CP" had to be
terminated because it has come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
Do you have any idea, should I change some settings ?

How can i change the iview ?
Is it also related which role the web templete is assigned ?
How can i find out which role ?

What is QueryReadMode?
We use the query monitor to test or regenerate queries and query views, and to check or change query properties. With the query monitor you have the option of displaying technical information about queries
Query Properties.
In the Query Properties window of the Query Monitor, we can configure settings for the Read Mode, Cache Mode etc.
The read mode of a query determines how often the OLAP Processor retrieves data from the database during query navigation. The read mode contains three types of read processes:
Read all data (setting A: Query to Read All Data At Once)
Reread the data (setting X: Query to Read Data During Navigation)
Reread the data when expanding a hierarchy (setting H: Query to Read When You Navigate or Expand Hierarchies)
WE USE T-CODE RSRT.
(H) u2013 Query to read, when you read or expand hierarchies: In H mode, the detailed information within the nodes and sub-nodes of a hierarchy are read on demand (i.e., when you expand a hierarchy node). The amount of data transferred to the OLAP processor is the least of all the three categories. The downside is that the number of database reads increases as you keep expanding hierarchy nodes. SAP recommends setting queries to the H read mode. This is based on the empirical evidence of the relative performance of queries set to each of these modes.
(X) u2013 Query to read data during navigation: In this mode, data are requested by the OLAP processor as
dictated by every navigational step. The difference between X mode and H is that in the case of hierarchies, all the data on a leaf level are completely retrieved by the OLAP processor.
(A) u2013 Query to read all data at once: There is only one read process in this mode. When you execute the query in the Business Explorer, all data in the main memory area of the OLAP processor that is needed for all possible navigational steps of this query is read. During navigation, all new navigational states are aggregated and calculated from the data from the main memory.
The read mode Query to be read when you navigate or expand hierarchies significantly improves performance in almost all cases compared to the other two modes. The reason for this is that only the data the user wants to see is requested in this mode.
What Is An Aggregate?
An aggregate stores the dataset of an InfoCube redundantly in a summarized form. In this instance, summarization means the condensing of the original fact table of an Infocube to an aggregate table. This table no longer contains certain characteristics of the Infocube and has been summarized across attributes, or to characteristic values, or a hierarchy level.
The summarization enables you to access the data of an InfoCube quickly when reporting. Aggregates are, therefore, tools for enhancing performance.
Aggregates are created from logical data packets (requests). You can distinguish between the processes of filling and rolling up

Bit map and B-tree index - It is related to Cardinality.
Cardinality means no. of predefined options for perticular Info Object.
e.g *** of person - Male or Female - we have only two options - so it will be considered as Low Cardinality.
Document Number : their can be many document numbers depends on the no. of users. so it is considered as high cardinaltiy
If low cardinality is their, Bit map index is used.
If high cardinalty is their, B tree index is used.

Compression improves Performance Tuning as it removes the redundant data. This improvement in the performance can be checked by RSRT and running the query with compression & without compression.
