Read/Write Adobe Reader Capability for iPad

In my work, I need to be able to write, (make changes) to a PDF file. I use Adobe Reader for this. Does the iPad support use of a read/write version of Adobe Reader? Thank you.

The capability you are referring to is a function of Adobe Acrobat, not Adobe Reader. On a laptop/desktop Acrobat to convert any file in any native application on that machine (Web, Word, Excel, etc.) into PDF format by "printing" to the Adobe PDF "printer".
There is no such on the iPad. Previously created PDF documents may be transferred from your laptop to the iPad and viewed on it, and you can also annotate that transferred PDF document (using an app called iAnnotate), but in general you cannot CREATE a PDF document the way you did on your laptop. The only exceptions I can think of are the Apple apps (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote) which allow you to export their files in PDF format. But, as an example, if you want to view a web page and "print" it to a PDF file, no can do.

And yet the most common asked for feature is adobe flash.
just compare the posts on this forum alone, can you find a more asked for feature?
You guys been claiming the death of flash since 2007. Yet today Google and Microsoft both are baking it into their browser.
This site was created less than a year ago, http://www.pottermore.com/ by one of the wealthiest people on the planet, and it uses Flash, what is your excuse for them not using something else? Is she stupid? can't afford it? I'd say it's because it's the best platform for the job.
You will also need Adobe® Flash Player 10+ if you want to experience everything that Pottermore has to offer.

  • Adobe Content Viewer for iPad rejected?

Has the new version of the Adobe Content Viewer for iPad been rejected for the Apple App store? We've been told the updated App version would be alive in the Apple App store by last week, the latest. What's really going on?
Customers have paid good money to Adobe to enjoy this products. Does Adobe has a Plan B in case the updated version doesn't pass the Apple filter? Maybe an update of the Folio Builder that supports the current 1.7 App untill Apple finally decides to release the new version?
Unfortunatelly, we need that App working to test and share those publications with our clients. The answer "this matter is in Apple hands" is not acceptable.
    Adobe is a serious company.
    We deserve a serious answer.

Apple hasn't rejected the viewer. They're just taking a longer time than usual for whatever reason.
The current version of the iPad viewer works with the 1.0.x version of the tools. If you need to view folios on the iPad, you can uninstall the 1.1.x tools and install the 1.0.x tools (or use the v11 tools from prerelease). Or, if you're a paying customer, you can use the Viewer Builder to create a custom viewer that lets you preview content on the iPad.

  • Ok, tried message boards everywhere to try and figure this out before having to post a question. Have a 21.5" iMac running Snow Leopard 10.6.8.  After updates no wireless capability for ipad or laptop, imac connects fine but nothing else.No widgets work.

Your post is pretty lengthy and I have to admit I didn't read it all. Please try restarting in Safe Mode, if that doesn't work please do both a SMC and PRAM reset. These may take 2-3 attempts.
    SMC RESET
    Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and all peripherals.
Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
    Release the power button.
    Attach the computers power cable.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
    PRAM RESET
    Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.

  • Why does not Adobe flash player for iPad ,This is a very big problem

Why does not Adobe flash player for iPad ,This is a very big problem ,I do not know why Apple is so Popular

but Adobe is, in fact, continuing to update Flash for Android.
Only essential bug and security fixes. No new feature updates have been released for 2 years.
Of course we have those who wish fervently that the lack of Flash supprt will damage Apple severely and obsess about it all the time.
I thought they'd realised it was a lost cause ages ago... they mostly seem to have disappeared from this forum, at least...

  • Turn off transparent background for reading in Adobe Reader X 10.1

Up until yesterday, I did not see a transparent background for all things in Adobe Reader X 10.1.  This makes for very annoying reading.  How do I turn off the transparent background?  Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If you're talking about the transparency grid, check the following user preference: Edit > Preferences > Page Display > Page Content and Information > Show transparency grid

  • Adobe photoshop touch for iPad 1?

I'm a iPad 1 user and I really want to edit pictures on iPad I waited and I see the adobe photoshop touch app, it's for iPad 2 only

Photoshop Touch for the iPad specifically states - iPad 2 only.... so no Touch solution for you...
What sort of things are you trying to accomplish with your iPad 1 ?
If you are looking for basic adjustments, sharpening, cropping, etc., and some minor effects & frames then you could always give Photoshop Express a try... In other software you could do a lot worse than programs like Nik's Snapseed or Filterstorm Pro... I use both of these apps but PST is now offering me options that neither of them has - plus some continuity with OS native Photoshop itself...
None of those other programs offers you a "layers" option so if that is your need then I see a new iPad in your future....
Even if you could make it run PST I think your iPad 1's processor and ram would choke pretty hard as soon as you tried to stack a few layers...
Hope that helps - even though it's not the news you were looking for...

  • Adobe flash player for iPad

How can I get adobe flash player for iPad

No Flash for iPads, iPhones, or iPods
Here's why there's is no Flash available for iDevices or other mobile devices. Adobe was unable to provide a product that was suitable to the needs of battery powered mobile devices used for Internet browsing. Existing Flash technology used too much memory, ate battery life, and was buggy. Simply put Flash did not work well on mobile devices.
Apple's Steve Jobs led the escape from Flash dependency when Apple introduced the iPhone, and later introduced the iPad. There was a hue and cry over the omission. Time proved Jobs was right on target.
So this is why there is no Flash for your iPhone or iPad or iPod nor for most SmartPhones. Flash has been abandoned by many sites in favor of supported technologies such as HTML5 or by providing their own custom app.
Here is Steve Jobs official comment on his momentous decision to omit Flash from iDevices: Steve Jobs on Flash.
Here is Adobe's later announcement to cease development of Flash for mobile devices: Adobe on Mobile Flash.
Now, you are not necessarily out on a limb. There are some apps that can display some Flash, but don't count on there ability to display anything using Flash.
Apps that can display some Flash from the Web:
      1. Puffin
      2. SkyFire
      3. Photon Flash
      4. Browse2Go
      5. Swifter
Also, note that many sites that use Flash provide their own app for accessing their material. So check with your favorite sites and find out if "there's an app for that."

  • Document I was reading in Adobe reader closes when I restart app

    Hi there,
There is is a bug in your iPad app. The scenario goes like this...
I open a document in Adobe reader and start reading
I press home to do something else
I double click home button and see that adobe reader still shows my open document and I select adobe reader to continue reading where I left off
Adobe reader starts up again, but the document closes !!! And I have to re-open it whereupon it opens up from where it closed.
    Thanks,
    Maz

    Hi there,
I've attached a video of the error occurring. The occur occurs intermittently and I've been trying to video the error for the last day or so.
I managed to video it but the app was already minimised. I was in my mail app. At 9 seconds, I selected the Adobe app and you can see it start, and after a short instant, it closes the document I was reading by itself.
Due to the low level of light and my thinking that I wasn't going to capture this error, I didn't restart the document I was reading and that closed, but I opened another document. What I would have liked to have shown was that when I restart the original document, it continues from where it left off. I am on v 11.3.1 as you can see from the screen print.
Maybe, because the error doesn't show up all the time, it's based on some sort of time elapsing as it occurs at least every several hours and just once, then after several hours, it occurs again. Just something I noticed.
    Thanks, Maz

  • Does Adobe Color CC (for iPad) work with CS6 (on computer)?

I have a mention of an update for Adobe Kuler on my iPad. it would be changed to Adobe Color CC. However before I update I want to make sure it would work for my Adobe CS6 programs on my computer? Or should i keep the older version of Adobe Kuler for iPad?
    thanks,
    Joleen

Can you explain what you want to do with CS6?  Themes you create with your iPad will be saved to the color service.  And, if you make those themes public, you will be able to access them via the old Kuler extension.

  • Adobe Digital Editions for IPad?

I frequently review books for an online book digest. Publishers are increasingly distributing galley proofs digitally, most often using the Adobe Digital Editions app, which seems to be compatible with every kind of ebook reader....except the IPad. I haven't found an IPad version at the app store, and I don't have a Kindle or a Nook or any of those devices that read Adobe's DRM-protected files, and so am forced to non-portably read these galleys on my IMac. Anyone know if an IPad DE app is in the offing? Or failing that, a workaround? (I tried using Txtr, which claims it can read DE files. Not.)

Incidentally, you do know that you can buy kindle or Nook apps for your ipad? I was assuming you wanted a DE-specific app.
EDIT Actually, those apps are free--you just pay for what you buy through them, if that helps you any.
Incidentally, O'Reilly, my publisher, uses PDF for real galley purposes, although they do create epub editions of their books for distribution. You might want to ask the publishers you work with if there's another format available.
