Reader 10.0.1 errors when opening in IE8 browser window on win7 x64

These errors are being seen inconsistently on several of the 200+ test machines Adr 10.0.1 has been rolled out to. Some PDFs or websites are causing the Rdr app to throw the following errors: "There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat/Reader. If it is running please exit and try again (103/103)" when the OK button is clicked it is followed by a MS Win7 error that says Adobe Reader has stopped working; "Windows is collection more information about the problem. This might take several minutes." We have also seen on the same machine that was used for recording this last error the following: AcroRd32.exe - Application Error; The instruction at 0x62b22eb5 referenced memory at 0x00000000. The memory could not be read.; Click on OK to terminate the program." This error has only been seen once to my knowledge.
What strikes me as most odd about this is that I've found in testing PDF files online that open fine, then after closing the IE window and trying again they throw the errors, and visa-versa. I am including screen shots of the recorded errors in case I missed any detail. Also this installation was created using the customization tool from Adobe, distributed via SCCM, and has Protected Mode disabled. These errors were seen in http and https sporadically. Thank you for any assistance given!

I'm getting plenty of random crashes, all I can put it down to is it's after I installed the 12.8 cats, and the crashes occur on all versions, FF, Beta and Aurora.
Disabling HW acceleration seems to have fixed it as well.
But leaves me with slightly ugly text.
Just thought I'd chime in to the Cats 12.8 maybe being a cause.

ITunes 11.1.2 error when opening iTunes Store on windows 8.1 64b

After updating iTunes to version 11.1.2 is giving error when accessing the iTunes Store and the program and ended.

Same issue. Win 8.1 64-bit. iTunes 11.1.2.31 Everything else seems to work fine, but when attempting to open the iTunes Store, error message "iTunes has stopped working". It happens whether or not I'm signed in to my AppleID account. My computer is 'authorized'.

Resolved!
After contacting Apple, I received a reply from their engineers:
Copy QTMovieWin.dll from: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
to: C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
And that did the trick.

Basic Search portlet returns error when Display in New Browser Window set

Ora AS Portal 10G release 2 (10.1.2.x)
Have a region of type Portlets.
The enable users to include content in this region is enabled.
I added a Basic Search Portlet in this region.
Basic search works fine if launched from current area, however if change attributes of region to have a link that displays item in new browzer window, then
basic search portlet opens in new browzer window but returns error "Error: You do not have permission to perform this operation. (WWC-44131)"
The Basic search portlet in the new window contains a link to advanced search. If use advanced search, results are returned.
to test further, I added a advanced search portlet to this region, also with the display option to display item in a new window. In this case, the same error is obtained when doing a search.
Has anyone experienced this?
Any solutions?

Are you referring to Edit Region > Attributes tab ? Which of the Available Attributes did you select?

I get this errormsg always when i try to open a pdf file in my browser (both in IE and FF). I just updated adobe 2 days ago and when i download the file, i can still open it. i reinstalled adobe reader x and tried to repair it, but nothing helped. I also checked the pluginoptions in FF, but there was everything ok.

I had tried the other steps but didn't work for me. However, here's what worked for me.
Like you, I also have Adobe X V10.1.2 (on Windows 7 64-bit), and the path is showing 10.0 and there is no option to change it. (I think this should be edit-able). My path in Adobe preferences was missing the \Reader directory, so I copied the AcroRd32.exe from the actual Reader\ directory and pasted it into the \Reader10.0 directory so that the path matches. Now, when I open a PDF doc from Chrome V16, the PDF document opens up fine and there are no error messages.

How do I set the desired search enging when I open a new browsing window?

When I open a new browser window, I used to get the Bing search engine option but now only the Yahoo search engin is shown. How do I reset the system to show Bing when opening a new browser window? thanks.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that you've got a custom timecode field somewhere in your production and/or asset metadata group(s), right? And I'm going to further guess that this timecode field has dashes in it like this --:--:--:--, right? If so, try this: Click the arrow next to the timecode field and adjust the timecode so that it has a number (it doesn't matter what the number is as long it's not dashes - "00:00:00:00" is fine). Then Save this asset, close it and then reopen it and see if the beeping madness has vanished. Then, to make this change permanent for all of your new assets, make sure to edit the default value of any custom timecode fields to put zeros (or some other numeric default value) into them when a new asset is generated. If the asset still beeps when you open it, check the other metadata groups in your set to see if there isn't another empty timecode field lurking in the shadows.

Error when opening a pdf by clicking a search result. Link works fine when opened any other way. IE issue only.

When you carry out a search for "co-operative bank" and click the first result (which is a pdf), Adobe Reader is launched and the user sees this error: "There was an error opening this document, The filename, directory name or volume label syntax
is incorrect"
However, if you do any of these...
right-click the link and choose to open it in a new tab
right-click the link, copy the shortcut, paste it into the address bar and hit go
open the file directly from the library
open the file by clicking on a hyperlink
... you are prompted to Open or Save the file. On choosing 'Open' the file is opened in the browser window with no problems. It is only when clicking on the link in the search results that the issue arises. The issue only occurs with IE.
Current settings:
Client integration is disabled
Browser file handling is set to permissive
Default open behaviour for browser-enabled documents is set to open in the browser
DOCICON.xml is configured to show <Mapping Key="pdf" Value="icpdf.png" EditText="Adobe Acrobat" OpenControl=""/>
Disabling the Adobe Acrobat SharePoint Opendocuments add-on 'fixes' the issue, in that the user no longer sees the error, but instead sees the prompt. However, this doesn't help us as the site is public facing asn we cant control user's add-ons.
Hope someone can help.

Getting 500 Internal Server Error when opening GC page

There was no change in configuration and all of a sudden, I can not connect to GC. I did notice that OC4J for OC4J_EM is down and I can't get it to go "Alive". Can someone run opmnctl status and print the output for me?
I'm on Windows 2003/GC 10.1.0.4. Anyone has seen this problem?

We update the BW landscape for version 7.4 suppport package 4 (whitout HANA).
We use a external system connection to extract data from a SQLServer database (Microsoft Connector 1.1 for SAP/BW)
In the previous version (BW 7.0.1 SP 10) run correctly, but now is in error.
Below the BW error log:
Error: COMMUNICATION_FAILURE with function RSB_API_OHS_3RDPARTY_NOTIFY and target system SQLIS.
Error when opening an RFC connection (CPIC-CALL: 'ThSAPOCMINIT' : cmRc=2 thRc=679 Transaction program not regist).

We were able to resolve the issue. SAP RDS is assisting us with our upgrade and one of their consultants gave us this fix/workaround.
Edit and add an entry into P:\usr\sap\<SID>\DVEBMGS00\data\reginfo.dat on your BW host server.
Below is the entry I added.
P TP=<NAME OF PROGRAM ID> HOST=<remote hostname where you creating the RFC to> CANCEL=<remote hostname> ACCESS=*
P TP=CTSAPNPSCI_PORTAL_FPS HOST=ctsapnpsci CANCEL=ctsapnpsci ACCESS=*
Then in BW system goto smgw > goto > Expert Funtions > External Security > ReRead ACL (N) & Globally

Im trying to transport datasources in BW, they are 7.x RSDS datasources. but we did not change the source system, it was existing and we are using the same source for older BW version. we now installing new BW 7.x system.
These transports went fine in BQ system but failing in BP system with the below error :

the datasource 2LIS_17_I0NOTIF is active in RP1CLT100 system. when this transport goes to prod it tries to overwrite the existing one, as there are no changes to the datasource the structure will be the same.
but after that it cant able to activate that datasource.
so my question is can we able to activate this datasource in RP rather than doing transport again from R/3 Dev---R/3 PRD.
i tried RSDS_DATASOURCE_ACTIVATE_ALL but it doesn't help.
another question is when we migrate from 3.x datasource to 7.x, does this change any metadata in R/3 system as well.

Hi Rizwan,
Looking at the error message it seems like there is some issue with RFC connection and whatever objects you are trying to move are not reaching to target system. Just have a check with basis team.
Once you migrate DS from 3.x to 7.0 yes there will be some meta data changes e.g. the DS type will be changed from ISFS to RSDS. You will have to send the migration along with current data source.
