Reader 10.0.1 not closing after sending a file to print
Hi all,
We have an application that uses the windows file handlers for printing out a report. Since upgrading to Reader X 10.0.0 or to 10.0.1 (using group policy) from Reader 8 or 9 this feature doesnt work. After Reader Opens the file prints out but leaves the reader application sitting at the screen please select a file to open. This stops the next report from being printed out until the application is closed. This is the same if you right hand click on the file in windows and select print. FIle Prints but leaves the application open. Is there some magical IT trick to correct this?? I have turned of the protected at start up. The report prints fine so I dont think it is a font issue.
Clients are WIndows XP SP3 on Domain and fully patched according to WSUS last week.

Has anyone seen this? I returned to email after doing something else and noticed that the message I had sent was still in edit mode... appearing like it had never sent... which I know isn't true because somebody replied to it.

Did not die after sending SIGKILL
In the past 2 days, I've experienced significant slowdown.
The only thing new is that I'm attempting to switch from Eudora to Mail.
Here's what is repeating -- ENDLESSLY -- per Console:

I have searched and there is no RemoteDesktop or ARD accessible on my machine!
HELPJust FYI, all copies of Mac OS X since, I believe, 10.4 have the Remote Desktop client included.
Check the Sharing preferences and see if either Remote Management or Screen Sharing are checkmarked. If either are, uncheck them and see if that stops the messages.

Introducing a wait after Send step - file write in cc BPM
Hi
We have a cc BPM - in which we have a send step - that writes a to a file system - we have a transport acknowledgement requested in this step - which we receive in runtime - once the message is passed into the Adapter engine ( not after the file is written )
The requirement is that the next step after this send step should not be started until the file is written to the folder. We have an option of introducing a wait - but do not want to delay the BPM by a full minute ( the least wait time is a minute ) .
How do we make sure that the step after send step - file write executes only after the file is written to the folder in the send step ?
Any ideas, solutions, work arounds ?we have a transport acknowledgement requested in this step - which we receive in runtime - once the message is passed
into the Adapter engine ( not after the file is written )
Transport Ack sends back the ACK when the message is successfully delivered from the Adapter Engine (channel) to the end system.....and not when the message is transferred to Adapter Engine....if there is any error in sending message to AE then the BPM does not need Transport Ack logic to ctach it....only Exception Branch is enough then

The Wait step of BPM cannot go below the minimum limit of 1 minute......if you want to introduce a delay of some seconds then in a mapping use the Thread.sleep logic and check.....this will slow down (stop) the processing....for more info refer:

Aperture 3: After sending my book for printing to Apple the Apple Store told me that my text and the background have the same color and they couldn't print the book. But I couldn't find any problem in the preview. How could I find the pages where the problems are? Or otherwise, why doesn't print Apple the book how it is. Idon't need the text which couldn'be seen.

Mail will not quit after sending message with attachment

640 MB RAM
I recently switched to using an email account through AOL Instant Messenger (AIM.com). The only way to connect to their service is via IMAP. I have all the correct settings, I can send and receive email no problem.
However, when I attempt to send a message that contains an attachment (.zip, jpeg, anything) the email will send just find. The problem is when I try to quit mail it wont' respond. I can continue to send or receive after sending the message but it will not quit. Trying to log out does not work either as it reports a problem with Mail that prevents closing the session. The only thing I can do is force quit mail.
The next time I use mail it works fine and there are no problems. The only issue seems to be this hanging problem. I've never experienced this problem using POP3 accounts.
Any suggestions?

When im taking a picture directly from home screen after im finished the application remain open. This app is ussing the location and if im not closing like other applications by doble click the home button the batery will finished fast. On the other IOS 5 and 6 was not neccesary to unblock the phone and bouble click the home bottom.

Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility and press the Continue button. After Disk Utility loads select the Macintosh HD entry from the the left side list. Click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If Disk Utility reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit Disk Utility and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

Sessions not closing after timeout
I'm having trouble where my sessions aren't closing after the
60 minute timeout. I'm checking to see how long the sessions are
staying open, and they are staying open past the 60 minute timeout
I have defined. Is there somewhere else I need to modify something
to get them to end?Did you try changing that 60 to something like 10 minutes
just to rule that out as a bug?

Expenses not closed after year end
Dear All:
I have a query, our last fiscal year ended at 30.06.2009 but upon analysis of some GLs relating to expenses i observed that they were not closed. Principally they should have been closed automatically as the year ended but they did not. What can be the possible cause. Please guide if there is any problem in back end configuration for these expenses GL relating to manufacturing costs.
RegardsAs explained earlier in couple of instances above, there is no closing as such and once you have done the carry forward of the balances, you would find that the B/S accounts have been brought forward but the P&L Accounts (Expense & Revenue) Accounts have been transferred to the Retained Earnings Account. At the year end the system calculates the net earnings amount by deducting total liabilities from the total assets and posts the same into the Retained Earnings Accoungs, at the same time, the B/S account balances are carried forward to the new fiscal year. You can also run a GL Balance Dsiplay Report using FAGLB03 and would observe that in the opening balance in case of P&L A/c indicated as "Bal. Carryforward" is zero but in case of B/S accounts there is a positive or negative figure depending upon debit or credit in last year's balance.

Safari will not open after deleting bookmark file

I read where this could be a bookmark issue when my old bookmarks from my 2007 were imported into the new computer. Upon recommendation of another user in the apple support community I did the following:
Back to a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly has you see it here:
~/Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist
Click Go
Move the Bookmarks.plist file to the Trash.
I emptied my trash and now Safari won't open at all. I'm unsure if this will solve my memory issue, but I would at least like to have access to the Safari program. Any help to get Safari operational again, and then info on what to do about the memory problem.

Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it. The purpose of this test is to determine whether your problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.
When you see the gray Apple logo, release the shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, and then hold down the shift key again as you click Log in.
*Note: If FileVault is enabled under OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode. Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs. The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -
ITunes does not delete songs -- Send song files to the Trash for deletion

Apple Support:
I have Itunes on an external drive. I put the (song) files on another external drive for storage becasue the itunes drive is full.
After copying the files, I tried to delete the songs. I had the option to keep the files or send them to the trash.
I selected the send to trash option, then went to the Finder to empty the trash.
The files were taken off the library, but the files were not deleted. My hard drive is still very full.
How do I delete the files -- remove them from my hard drive.
Anohter issue:
I tried the same thing earlier this morning. I may need to reinstall the songs on Itunes (once I get itunes to delete the files from the hard drive).
I appreciate any help you can give me.

Adobe Reader X v10.1.4 no longer sends pdf file to attached printer
wants to save prn file. (Adobe print command shows correct, default printer name.) Printer works fine with other applications and used to print pdf files from Reader X even 2 weeks ago. Windows 7 x64 with MS Security Essentials - all systems up to date, no system changes (hard or soft) other than regular security and version updates.
Ran Adobe Repair and rebooted - print command showing attached printer still asks where to save the prn file instead of sending job to turned on printer which works fine just before and just after Adobe fails to use it. Will install older version of Reader, Adobe offers v9.5 if no one has a better solution since I am clueless.Thank you so much for trying to help.
From your question I gather you have Reader X v 10.1.4 and have no trouble printing if you send to your printer.
Alas I'm pointing to my one real printer, the Brother I'm sending the pdf file to print. Worked fine for years until a few days ago. Now when I hit "Print" on the bottom right of the below panel I get the "Save As" screen asking where I wish to save the pdf file name I'm trying to print followed by .prn.
I have no problems in any other application printing. If installing an earlier version of Adobe Reader proves it's not v 10.1.4 specifically, I'll have to try and send the prn file to the printer, perhaps by using the old DOS type command, or see if I can print pdf files on another system.
You just made me think to try my backup PC with Adobe Reader X v10.1.0 - This works fine, both on its own printer and on the below named Brother attached to this system. So the problem is either v10.1.4 or some interaction of Adobe with very recently installed Microsoft security or other OS updates for 64bit Windows 7.

Not able to send pdf file as attachment in my apple mail.
Hi, I was easily able to attach pdf files to my apple mail. infact I could just open a pdf file and then send it as attachment in the email earlier. but after downloading and upgrading to os X Mountain lion, I am neither being able to attach and send pdf files in my apple mail, nor can I send PDF file as an attachment.
Is there any issue with OS X Mountain Lion.
Issue 1. I compose Email , then click attach > Browse > select pdf file > click attach > it shows in my Email body either as an icon or as first page of the pdf document > I send it. >>> But when the receipient opens the Email, that pdf attachment is missing. In fact When I put a cc to my self and I open the Email, the attachment is mssing in the incoming E amil.
Issue 2. I open the PDF document > Click on File > send as attachment in E-Mail > on right, a menu appears where I select the File and click attach> I get a message

I never had these issues earlier with my Lion OS . but since the time I have upgraded to mountain Lion OS, I am having these issues.
Are these the Mountain Lion issues, how to fix these please.I believe, the software team forgot to put a button for send or share as an attachment to preview.
