Reader 10.1.3 installation error file in use

The file in use is identified as adobe reader 7.0.....As I understand, it thinks there is something open that uses reader 7.0.  But there are no open programs....that I am aware of.

Could you please give more details on your problem? I don't seem to be following you...

  • How do I overcome error "files in use Reader" when downloading 10.1.4?

    How do I overcome an error "files in use Reader *" when attempting to download Reader 10.1.4? Reader 8 not in use, but is installed.  All I want to do is upgrade to 10.1.4.  Why do I get sudn an error anyway?

    Make sure no AcroRd32.exe process is running when you run the installer.  Easiest way:
    download the cleaner tool http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html and save it to disk
    download the installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/ and save it to disk
    restart Windows, then run the cleaner tool, followed by the installer, before doing anything else
    P.S. the latest Reader X version is 10.1.8.

    I do not understand what this means.  What is your %WINDIR% environment variable?
    Is there any error message you are getting during the install?
    Contents displayed as black indicates an outdated graphics driver.

  • Yosemite 10.10.1 will not allow me to copy multiple files to a NAS -error file in use, but other OS OK.

    I am running Mac OS 10.10.1 on a Mac Mini with 16G.
    I have a Buffalo NAS and wanted to copy files from one folder on the NAS  to another on the NAS.
    Under Yosemite I can only copy them one at a time. If I try to copy more than one I get an error message that the file is in use.
    Under SNS 10.6.3 (running under Parallels) I can easily copy a large number of files.
    Again under 10.10.1 I get the same problem when copying from my desktop to the NAS.
    The files are definitely not in use elsewhere and in any case if they were I wouldn't be able to copy one at a time.
    When I try to copy multiple files the OS creates greyed out icons of all the files to copy and then aborts when it actually tries to copy the first file.
    Any clues please, my current work around is to compress all the files to move, move the archive, expand the archive. This is not going to work for very large numbers of files - l'll be at it all day.
    Tony

    I have been unable to drag and drop large files, even onto the Desktop, let alone onto my NAS - I get the dragged files freezing in the middle of the screen or I get the 'unable to copy / file in use' error.
    Talking to Apple Support, they had me set up a new User, and then within that new account, the trouble went away. This pointed to the StartUp items being run in the original troublesome account,
    I have deleted all of my 3rd Party programs and then installed them one by one until the problem came back, and in my case (Macbook Air 5,2 running 10.10.3 Yosemite) I found it was DropBox causing the conflict. I have DropBox running in the Menu Bar (top of screen) and disabling sync (bottom left corner) stopped the file copy problem. Try disabling DropBox sync is file copying is failing?

  • OBIEE installation error: file EmctlCommon.pm.template not found

    I'm installing OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0 on Linux Centos.
    I have this error running the installer
    "/app/MiddlewareOracle/middlewarehome/oracle_common/bin/EmctlCommon.pm.template not found"
    /app/MiddlewareOracle/middlewarehome is my installation home directory.
    I don't understand why installer did not copy/unzip this file in oracle_common.
    I don't think it's a permission issue: there are other files in the directory.
    Log simply report the error with no further information.
    Some advice?
    thanks
    Luca

    Sorry
    Probably the error was due to an error during the unzip of files downoladed from Oracle.
    Solved.

  • Installation error - File not found

    Dear all,
    I am installing Oracle 11gR2 on a server which is running Sun Solaris 10u8 for x64.
    I have already performed all steps to prepare for the installation (both hardware and software). When running Oracle 11gR2 installer, I passed all the prerequisite checks. However, when the installation began, it met an error at "Copying files" step, please see screen shot in the following link (it said that it could not found many files in /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0 folder): http://www.mediafire.com/?nx3yjhdajuz
    I do not what to do now to install Oracle database software successfully in this machine now, please give me suggestion if anyone know what the problem is.
    Thank all of you very much.
    HuyNQ.

    Dear all,
    There was a confuse of me between using Solaris and MS Windows.
    In MS Windows, when I extract a *.zip file which is a part of a big archive file, it will extract all the others part for me. For example, if I have abc_1_of2.zip and abc_2_of_2.zip in a folder, when extracting abc_1_of_2.zip, it also extract the abc_2_of_2.zip and the result is I have a big file with "abc" as the name contains both files.
    However, in Solaris, it is not the same. Today I have extracted the second part of the archive and re-do the installation and everything is OK now.
    Thank you very much for your help.
    Best Regards,
    HuyNQ.

  • Error file generation using BDC

    Hi .. friends . This is Sudhir . I have  a scenario of loading 50 materials using BDC concept (generate session method) with tcode mm01. During loading if we have any faulty materials then they have to be written in a separate flat file (in the location which we specify in our pc). How can it be done?  Hope your answers will be helpful for me to proceed further. Expecting for your reply...
    With Regards
    Sudhir S

    Hi  Sudhir,
                I had also similar requirement through Call Transaction method, Solution is
               We can store all messages occuring during exection of transaction (e.g MM01) in an internal table of type BDCMSGCOLL, so it contains message id, message no and not message description for that u have to  pass internal table to a function module  MESSAGE_TEXT_BUILD now u can get message description now store this in an internal table.
              Pass this internal table to a function module GUI_DOWNLOAD this will create flat file on ur PC based on the location u have given to this function module.
              For session method, session log contains the information u can check   INCLUDE program BDCRECX1 which will be created during recording, run this program in the debugger mode u will get idea.
    Hope this will help u..............

  • CC Manager & Installation Errors

    I just bought CC full suite, barely managed to download Photoshop off the CC Manager. It took like an hour to download. Really slow - slower than dial up speeds. I've disabled firewalls, anti-virus software, etc. No dice. Now when I try to download any other programs, mostly Acrobat XI and Lightroom, they get to around 42-87% and then give me an installation error.
    I used to be able to click on "More Information" for the installation errors, but now it won't load that either. It just pops up a window that says: "Installation failed. Errors occurred during installation.(7)."
    I have a less-than-year old Vaio Ultrabook. My internet connection is great for everything else. Super frustrating. I hope I don't have to do some weird technical work to get around this. I'd think in this day and age it'd be a simple download and simple access to the apps.

    Moookers I would recommend reviewing the installation logs to determine why the installations are failing.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret the installation log files at Troubleshoot install issues with log files | CC - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cc.html.  You are welcome to post any specific errors you discover to this discussion.

  • Reading file anf using input for main

    Hello Amigos,
    I have the following code but I have my doubts if it will work for what I want. I want to read in a file that will call a method with specific arguments.
    Example:
    Method:
    addTwoNumbers(int oneNum, int twoNum);
    File: sum.txt:
    addTwoNumbers(1,5);
    addTwoNumbers(8,2);
    addTwoNumbers(3,10);
    My confusion starts with the PrintWriter definition. I am not quite sure how to implement it and I don't find an example or online reference about this topic.
    Thanks in advance...
    try
                BufferedReader fileIn  = new BufferedReader( new FileReader("process.txt"));
                String oneLine;
                System.out.println("Reading File...");
              while( ( oneLine = fileIn.readLine( ) ) != null )
                   PrintWriter printWriter = new PrintWriter(new OutputStreamWriter(fileIn.readLine()));
                      printWriter.println(oneLine);
                      printWriter.close();
                      System.out.flush();
                 System.out.println("Done Reading File.");
            }

    It's hard to tell where to start. I'll post a brief example of how to read something in from a text file and use it. It's not robust, but it serves as a starting point, I suppose.
    sum.txt
    1,3
    2,4
    5,6
    SumDemo.javaimport java.io.*;
    public class SumDemo
        public static void main(String[] args)
            new SumDemo().go();
        public void go()
            String fileName = "sum.txt";
            try {
                BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(new FileReader(fileName));
                String line;
                while ((line = in.readLine()) != null)
                    String[] nums = line.split(",");
                    int x = Integer.parseInt(nums[0]);
                    int y = Integer.parseInt(nums[1]);
                    System.out.println(addTwoInts(x, y));
            catch (IOException ioe) { ioe.printStackTrace(); }
        public int addTwoInts(int x, int y)
            return x + y;
    }

    2. Copy paste the following text in notepad
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer\]
    "Logging"="voicewarmupx"
    3. Now press Ctrl+S to save the file.
    4. In the "Filename" field type <any_file_name>.reg for e.g. abc.reg

    5. Click Save button to save the file at desired location
    6. Go to the location where you saved the file and double click on it.
    7. Follow the prompts to create the registry key.
    After the registry key is added successfully, please re run the 11.0.07 patch installer. Once you get the error message click ok and then click on finish to close the installer dialog.

    You were right. It was a permissions issue:
    hostname:/root# ls -ltr /u02/app/oracle/product/10.2/Db_1/lib/libjox10.so
    -r-xr-xr-x 1 ora10g oinstall 20041728 Apr 23 2008 /u02/app/oracle/product/10.2/Db_1/lib/libjox10.so
    Thanks.
