This cart reader is a kind of multi card reader and you can use different cards with it. In my opinion every multi device should be used very, but very gently. I do not know what happened exactly in your case but maybe you have damaged something inside.
Try to restart your notebook and use other SD card to check if everything works well. Please do it very gently and if you see something is wrong stop with inserting the card.
I use 1 GB SD card on my A200 without any problems.
In my opinion you should check notebook by technician.

Reader 9.3 Security Question

The new version of Adobe Reader (9.3) has some new security restrictions to do with accessing untrusted sites.
This has dealt quite a big blow to my current process which is (in short)...
1) Create PDF with form that sends data to my server
2) Email PDF to client
3) Client enters some information, data gets sent to my server in form submit and I return an FDF to the PDF
4) PDF uses javascript to decipher message from FDF and popup a confirmation
So my problem now is that the security popup (“Options” are “Trust this document one time only” or “Trust this document always”) requires the user to re-enter their password once one the said option is chosen, which seems to re-open the PDF. Because of this closing and opening of the PDF, the FDF data is lost and I don't get any chance to look at that information.
Also, any information that is entered into the form is also lost once the pdf "re-opens"
Has anyone else had any experience with this so far? Is this by design that all form entered data goes missing?

The solution here is to use a cross domain policy file to assign trust. Allow your clients (customers) to trust a pdf, fdf, xfdf, ect. by certifying the doc sent to the client and placing the fingerprint of the certificate used to certify the document to trust in the cross domain policy file.For example, if you returning an FDF with data to your customer's PDFs, certify the FDF and place its cert fingerprint in the cross domain policy file.

The big picture is this:
Adobe turned on enhanced security by default to protect users’ machines and data. As with any security restriction, the protection has the possibility to break certain workflows that were designed to function in an unsecure way over a network. However, Adobe is providing several methods for establishing trust between files, folders, and hosts to enable these workflows while retaining a desirable level of security. Workflow onwer actions vary depending on the workflow components you control:
When you control the clients: Pre-configure privileged locations.
You control the server: Use a crossdomain.xml policy file.
You control the entire workflow: Set up a certified document workflow where end users trust the signing certificate for privileged networked operations, configure privileged locations for all clients, use a crossdomain.xml policy file.
You don’t control the client or server: In this case, you have to encourage users to do the right thing prior to interacting with your PDF. For example, prior to having end users fill out a form whose submittal will result in data returning back to that user, have them first trust your server as a privileged location.

Adobe 8.12 reader/Std/pro vulnerability question

Can anyone tell me how I can identify if the patch has been successfully applied to any of these products? There doesn't appear to be a help|about which lists anything but the original version of the software 8.12, I was expecting something like 8.12su.
In addition, if a user has both 8.12 reader and 8.12 standard how would I know if both were updated? Are file sizes or dates changed? additional files? I need to provide my QA team something to prove that the package was successfully run. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Wayne

The only supported combination is Reader X and Acrobat X.
Other combinations will only cause various, unpredictable results.

Read/write drive speed question

I've been watching the read/write speeds in Activity Monitor while I've been transfering about 250 gigs from an internal drive to an external FW 800 Weibetech Drivedock. I notice that if I plug in any other FW drive at all, even another FW800 to the back of the drivedock, the transfer speeds suddenly drop from about 43mb to about 19 or 20mb. Also happens when I plug in to the front of the Mac Pro.
Why is this... can those speeds only be achieved when one drive is plugged into the computer? How can I have more drives plugged in but maintain the fast transfer speeds?

Macbook pro not reading hard drive blinking question mark

Just got a new replacement MacBook Pro. Did a restore from timemachine and the Apple updates. Opened a finder and could not find the internal hard drive. (nothing else connectd to the laptop) attempted to open the applications folder and got stuck with a spinning wheel. Re=started 5 minutes later and nothing happened.
Did a OPTION Key restart, connected to the network and did a disk util. No internal drive displayed.
The old laptop's HD died 4 times. Now this new one dies right out fo the box? Back to the Apple store tomrrow morning.
Any suggestions?

Got to the Finder? From the Finder menu: Finder>Preferences. Hard Disk box checked?

I am becoming a bit annoying, posting so much and everything, yet I took my Tiger DVD to another Mac and managed to make it be read, installed and work. So we know the disk works, so....any ideas to what I can do?

After reading you other posts, you seem to be having difficulty installing a retail OS X 10.4 DVD onto your G4. But the DVD will install correctly onto a different Mac. Is that correct?
Did you purchase the computer used? Perhaps the open firmware has been configured to disable booting from optical discs. Do you have any other bootable DVDs or CDs, like your original OS X install discs, that boot correctly?

Adobe reader and acrobat api questions

Hi all,
I have been asked to produce a library(dll) that can be used by a developer in an existing application. The idea is that the end user will be able to hover over a pdf object(for example, a pdf file name in a list) and this will cause a preview window to open with the document rendered inside.
I have been reading up on this and have found myself very confused.
Before I spend any resources on this project can anyone confirm the following for me please?
I understand that if I want to render a pdf in a window I would need to use the acrobat API. This would include having a full install of acrobat to allow this to work? Currently I have only reader 9 available.
If the above is true and I purchase a licensed full version of acrobat and develop my solution. When I then distribute my solution, will the machines then making use of my code also require a full copy of acrobat in order to work?
I am not being paid for the work and therefore covering the cost of several licensed copies of acrobat is not a solution I would wish to pursue.
Any comments suggestions would be appreciated.

It sounds like you are attempting to use the SCUP catalogs outside of the MS solution. I can almost guarantee you that Adobe didn't test it if it's not referenced in the ETK: 11 SCCM-SCUP — Enterprise Administration Guide
That being said there "should" be logging available in any deployment solution. Since I am not familiar with Solar-Winds particular solution I can't say if it logs errors and how verbose those logs might be. If you have logs then post the output and the forum members "might" be able to assist you.

I am integrating BI VC Integration...in that , BI custom Query contains 2 Header Rows ....but when i am calling that query in VC it is showing combination of those 2 rows will be displayed in only 1 Header Row....
Can we get the 2 header columns in VC is there any possibility so please explain me.

Disc image and mounting question .

Disc utility - file - new > blank disc image . Save as ( so so ) . Volume name (so so ) . Volume size (4.5 gb dvd-r/dvd-ram. ) . Volume format ( mac os extended journal ) . Encryption ( none ) . Partition (cd dvd ) Image format ( spars bundle disc image )
I do this and I get two icons on desk top . One looks like the hard drive symbol and will say so so .sparsebundle . Then under it is an icon that looks like an external cd player or the like . And will say the image name under it .
When I open the image icon and put my files into it I close it and burn it to dvd . After it is finished I try to open it and it says it cant be mounted . So I tried the hard drive looking one just above it and nothing . So I could eject the icons but not the dvd . She says I should try closing application and try again . Cant find anything to close so I restart and can eject the dvd then . I put it back in and same thing so I restart and get it back out . Now I start all over a new and just before I burn I leave the folder open and click edit select all the file the burn selected items to disc and vwula every thing

Now after you have read all this , my question is (1) What is the top icon for ?
(2) Is this normal ?
(3) Can I keep asking questions like this to learn my mac . I do search the forums and they are quite helpful Thank you for your time .

I will do my best, First Why are you making a sparse image and then burning? To Me this seems like extra work. What you can do is make a Burn Folder, add the things you want burned and then burn it. It will add Icons for the stuff in it with an alias Icon but it will burn the file not just an alias. I personally only use the images when I want to secure something with a password, or store files I've downloaded.
I would say that its normal, in the case that your making the image on your desktop. The reason you have the two 'Icons' is one is the image and the other is the mount of the image. Think you downloaded a .dmg file you have the file in your downloads folder and the icon on your desktop, you trash them both to get rid of.
And you are more then welcome to keep asking questions here, that is what these forums are for.

X1 Carbon Touch Fingerprint reader 'cannot find fingerprint sensor device' e7210005

I've spent far too long trying to solve this by myself, and need to reach out to someone who might have resolved this issue. I've read tons of similar questions online, and rebooted dozens of times after trying many different things.
I have a Carbon Touch 3444-CUU that can't see it's fingerprint reader. It used to work when brand new, but after lots of lenovo and windows updates, it now does not:
I am on Windows 8.1, with all updates.
No problems in device manager.
Touchchip Fingerprint Coprocessor (WBF advanced mode) installed under Biometric devices fine.
Power management set to _not_ turn off device to save power.
The bios is 2.61.
I suspect the problem is very low-level, because even the BIOS cannot find device when trying to set it up.
If I have the lates BIOS, but it can't see the device - what can I do?

BleachedWhale......which settings you have changed in the BIOS......
It is possible to work-around the issue, but some manual steps are needed:
1. delete "smihlp.sys" from "c:\program files\thinkvantage fingerprint software"
2. run "services.msc" and stop the service "Windows Biometric Service"
3. delete the file "031D23AD-15AF-4e25-B7B3-DE34893097ED.DAT" from "c:\Windows\system32\WinBioDatabase"
4. reboot the computer (important!!)
5. now try to enroll some fingers
This should make it possible to enroll fingerprint and use it to log into Windows, until the bug can be fixed in some future version of BIOS and/or Fingerprint software.

is it possible to reference "Sets" as an object in a "Map"
the exam question requires a "Map" to be created referencing a String "studentName" and the collection of books that the "student" has read (see previous coding question - http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5196761)

The Set is the "value" of the map, which is stored under a "key", which is the student name. You can use the get(key) method of the map to retrieve the value associated with that key, or you can get a collection of all the values with the values() method.

Photo sync from pc to iPhone to keep folder organization question

I would appreciate some assistance on HOW to sync my photos from my pc to the iPhone while KEEPING them in their nicely organized folders?
When I tried the first time, I had it sync "my photos" folder which contains 79 folders, which include sub folders themselves. What it got was all 3000 photos came across to the iPhone all in 1 folder. No sub folders at all.
I re sync'd and deleted every photo from the iPhone to try again. On my second attempt, after reading all the archived questions and answers here, I tried going into specific photo folders and syncing to the iPhone. I tried doing one by one, but when I checked the iPhone after two folders, it only takes the last one, deleting the first one.
So, with all this said, HOW do you get multiple folders of photos copied to the iPhone?

1. But it copies the pix both in each sub-folder AND duplicates of each pic are in the main folder called Photo Library. How can I get stop the duplicates?
2. I can not see how to delete a folder or pic off of my phone (unless it is under the "Camera Roll" folder, in which case it shows a garbage can in the bottom right of the screen.)
3. Also, it is good that the original folder called "Camera Roll" is also still there, but I would like to know where it shows up on my PC.

I need a step-by-step plan: my WD external hard drive is 'read only'

I hope someone can help me, because i'm in quite a pickle. I bought a WD 500 GB external hard drive a couple of months ago. I have a MacBook Pro version OS X 10.8.5. The problem I have now is that I haven't used my external hard drive for a couple of weeks now, until today (note: I bought this hard drive and used it for the first time on my macbook pro, never on windows before or any other laptop/pc), and all of a sudden I can only 'read' my hard drive, it suddenly seemed to have changed it settings by itself to 'you can read only' whilst I never did anything to the permission settings....
So i read a couple of questions about this online, and apparently im not the only one with this problem. but all the answers i read are way too complicated for me, with too much computer jargon. Therefore i just need a simple step-by-step answer, whatever i need to install or 'configure' in order to make this thing work again!!
Please can somebody help me??? I never used this thing for more than a month and only my macbook pro....help!! It cant be that i used this hard drive once and then all of a sudden it changes it's settings??

If you can see the hard drive in Finder, select it, do a Get Info (command - I) and see what permissions you have in Sharing and Permissions. It should be Read/Write. If it isn't, unlock the padlock, and change it. Then look towards the top to see how the drive is formatted. It normally should be Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
If it is not that format, go to Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility. Open Disk Utility select the drive, select the erase partition, and after making sure the correct format is set, erase the drive. At the bottom the current format is shown. This will remove anything that was on the drive.

I have a folder with a question mark and I hear the drive running I think my drive crashed

I have an imac intel duel core I run OSX 6.8 lately the gear has been hanging up a lot I keep haveing to shut down and force quit and reboot. yesterday a folder with a question mark showed up. today nothing shows up but I can hear the hard drive. I booted up the os dvd for SL and it wont see the hard drive. only the dvd player and idisk (which I can't use anymore ) I have disconnected my external storages. I am now on my mac airbook chatting to you.

Probably a crashed HD. Please carefully read Apple's Flashing question mark appears when you start your Mac article for trouble shooting steps. As long as you have been backing up the system it's minor inconvenience of replacing the Internal HD and restoring from your backup. If you haven't been backing up then you are about to learn why backing up it's optional it's critical.
