Reader 11.0.9 crashes when using side bar (tools, forms & sign)

I recently updated my company's Adobe reader to 11.0.9 via GPO. I followed instructions here: http://community.spiceworks.com/how_to/show/37467-how-to-create-a-slipstreamed-adobe-acrob at-reader-msi-for-gpo-deployment
I downloaded the MSI for the 11.0.9 MUI. I patched it over a copy of my 11.0.7 MUI MSI file. then I released it through GPO
Now when any of my users open a pdf with the "tools" or "Form and Sign" side bar open, Reader crashes. it goes to not responding, then a popup for "check for solutions" or "close program"
I have tried to uninstall Reader 11.0.9, then allow GPO to install it. but I still have the same issue (it crashes)
Has anyone experienced this? With this release? any other suggestions?

Hi Scott,
Try disabling the 'Protected Mode' in Reader and check the performance.
What happens if you install Reader on a test machine without GPO but directly from Adobe.com?

Adobe Photoshop CS4/5 Crashes when using the Move Tool

Hello. I'm here because I'm having an issue with Photoshop.
I was trying out CS5 when it started to crash every time I tried to use the Move Tool. It was the generic error message: "Adobe Photoshop CS4 has stopped working.
A problem has caused Adobe Photoshop CS4 to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
Thinking that it was a CS5 issue, I went back to my copy of CS4, only to find the same thing happening there (I also downgraded because CS5 was also crashing at other random times for some reason, but that's an issue for another time).
This puzzles me because both were working fine before. Granted, I hadn't opened them for a while, but it was a sudden thing.
My first impulse was to uninstall and reinstall CS4. No luck. So then, I uninstalled all third-party plugins, thinking that might be it. Still, the same problem. I started looking around on Google for solutions and found the instructions on resetting the Tool preferences (I chose to reset the preferences for ALL of the tools). When that didn't work, I tried deleting the preferences file outright, which said instructions recommended. Nothing.
I should note that Photoshop crashes when using the Move Tool to move an object without ant lines around it, i.e., a layer. I'll move the object, and after two to three seconds, the mentioned error message will appear and Windows will close Photoshop. This, however, only seems to happen after selecting, copying, and pasting part of a large object with some variation of the Marqee Tool (thus making that part a new layer by default) while working at a zoom of 100%. So, in short, working with a large image like <a href=http://www.wallpaper4me.com/images/wallpapers/ergo_proxy_267_1280-862301.jpeg>This</a> at 100% zoom. The image linked is the image that I was using and am currently using to reproduce the problem. It is 1280x1024 pixels. I have tested this with somewhat smaller, yet comparable images too. Same problem. I have never had this problem working with large images before, and I wonder if anyone has any suggestions short of formatting my hard drive.

Even a decent RAM upgrade is usually only a few hundred dollars nowadays, but it's not a trivially simple process. That said, with a little research and care you can do it. Alternatively, you can hire people (e.g., "Geek Squad") to do such an upgrade.
First, you'll need to know what your operating system capacity is. For example, a 32 bit Windows system can really only use up to a bit more than 3 GB of RAM, while a 64 bit Windows system can use all the RAM you can find a place to plug in. What version of Windows are you running?
Then you'll need to determine what RAM you have installed and what your computer's maximum RAM capacity is - usually you can do this through internet research, either by visiting your computer manufacturer's web site or doing google searches. There are even RAM manufacturer web sites that will tell you what kind of RAM your computer needs and suggest sources, for example:

It may be that you can just plug additional chips into currently empty sockets, or it is possible you'll need to replace the RAM chips you have installed in your computer to make room for an upgrade. Every computer is different.

Nobody can tell you anything without proper system info or other technical details. The standard answer with all text issues simply is, that you have a "bad font" on your system and need to get rid of it.

PPro CC crashes when using Track Select tool

This is probaby the most bizzare bug i have encountered so far - everythig works - i can scub, play and adjust footage, apply effects, titles and time remapping, but when i select Treack Select tool and click on the timeline, Premiere Pro crashes.
This is a new develpment as well - i was able to use PPro CC just fine since i installed it (trial version), until yesterday.
No new applications or updates for Windows, Nvidia card or Adobe were installed lately, but all drivers are up to date (according to various update managers)
Premiere CS6 works fine with the same sequence (mixed RED and DSLR footage)

Yep, buggy project..
New project with same and different footage works fine
Other project created in CC works fine
Imported sequence from CS6 works fine
Imported sequence from a buggy CC project into a new project causes crash on using Track Select tool
I was able to revert the project in question to CS6 via Final Cut Pro XML, also works fine (for now, at least), just have to redo some time remapping which didn't come through with XML translation, small loss
I guess i'll wait few more months before switching to PPro CC, maybe mysterious bugs will be worked out by then

Aperture crashes when using the Crop Tool

I have tried using Aperture in 32 and 64 bit modes. I have the same problem in both when using the Crop Tool. Immediately after I hit "RETURN" key to finalize the crop I have chosen, the VIEW screen goes blank and the SPINNING BEACH BALL appears. I go to the "Force Quit" dialog and Aperture is highlighted in red--signifying a crash (unresponsive application).
THIS is happening more frequently.
Help!!

Photoshop crashes when using Free Transform Tool

Hello All Forum Members,
Recently Photoshop CS6 crashes when I attempt to use the Free Transform Tool through the shortcut (Ctrl+T).
It also crashes very often when using any of the free transform/transform tools via the menu as well, though not as often as the previous listed situation.
This experience only occurred recently - for all the time I have been using CS6, this has never happened.
I have read another thread similar to this, though I don't think the cause of the problem is the same as this was only a recent experience.
Any help will be appreciated.

After Effects CS6 11.0.2 crashes when using the pen tool (Mac OS X 10.8.2)

I'm using After Effects CS6 11.0.2 on Mac OS X 10.8.2. Whenever I use the pen tool to add a vertex, the application crashes. I've submitted several crash reports to apple (they get sent to apple automatically when the app relaunches).

So I have discovered it only crashes when adding a vertex when I'm editing the max a few frames in. When I add vertices on the first frame of the comp I don't have any trouble. I've tried unchecking the box that says preserve constant vertex count, and it still happens.

Computer crashing when using Spot Healing Tool ~ PSE9

Why does my computer "Crash" when I use the "Spot Healing" tool. While using the "Guided" edit for "Perfect Portait" every other tool works just fine, but when I go to do the "Spot Healing" it crashes. Weather I am in the "Guided" edit or to use it on it's own. This is my 1st attempt using PSE 9 and this feature. HELP!!

Try clicking on the drop down icon under the word file - then choose reset all tools.

Illustrator CC 2014.1.0 Consistently crashes when using the Curvature tool

I'm using the curvature tool to trace a simple JPEG. After a few minutes the program will crash.
Never had this issue with previous versions of Illustrator.
I am using OSX 10.7.5

I cannot guarantee you my suggestions are warranted, or effective, and I am in no way associated with Adobe troubleshooting staff, but... you should check to make sure that there are no erroneous printer entries listed with your peripherals. In addition, if you have networking functions enabled on your printer, and it does not possess network capabilities or they're malfunctioning, I advise you resolve or remove them from the properties ASAP. I don't know why, but if there's a networking printer error, you'd best expect AI to follow suit.
If that does not do the trick, you can try removing the prefs file in your AI dir.

Flash Pro CC crash when using pencil, brush tool

Hello,
I have bought the full CC package and installed Flash Pro CC today on my laptop (lenovo y50) and im getting crashes when i use the pencil and brush tool.
When i use the select tool the selection is not in the right place. program feels weird.
Im using lastest version
running windows 8.1
lastest flash and air and graphic drivers.
It just crashes doesn't even show a error just benggg stopped working.
Can anybody help me out?

i was having the same problem and found the solution from Adobe.
you have to go to control panel - hardware and sound - display -
change the size of the text to the smaller one 100%
REstart the os and start adobe flash

LR 3.5 'crashing' when using spot correction tool

I recently upgraded to Windows 7 (from XPx64) and have had to restart LR several times after using the spot correction tool. The circle verifying the correction doesn't appear, and my mouse cursor disappears anytime it is over the LR program window. Task manager indicates the program is running, but I can't operate the program. It also will not close from the start bar, and only closes from the task manager. Any other experience this?

Spot Tool slowness and lock up can be caused when the 'Lens Corrections' tool is used (i.e. Enable Profile Corrections or Manual tab settings applied). Try temporarily disabling the 'Lens Corrections' tools by turning OFF the small switch to the left of the 'Lens Correction' tab. This will disable all lens correction settings. Try using the Spot Tool again and see if that fixes the problem. If so this is the best solution for now, and once finished with the 'Spot Removal' tool you can flip the Lens Corrections' swicth back ON.

Reader 9.3.2 crashes when using search & closing bookmarks pane

I have some PDFs that were created with the Bookmarks pane left open -- i.e. the Bookmarks pane is open every time I open the file. That means the actual page display is too small to read. I can close the Bookmarks pane and all is OK.
However, I use the search-index feature a lot -- I have a .idx file indexing a bunch of PDFs, and I search through the PDFs with that index.
If I search for something, then select a search link, the file opens with Bookmarks pane open. If I close the Bookmarks pane after having searched for something, *kaboom*. Reader crashes.
BTW it also crashes if I resize the window -- so I can't even increase the page size without closing the Bookmarks pane.
I'm going to see if a co-worker can use her copy of Acrobat Pro to edit the files, close the Bookmarks pane, and re-save the files. But in the meantime this is a very annoying bug.
Running on Vista Home Premium SP2 32bit.

Open Reader, go to Edit-->Preferences-->Documents and select "Restore last view settings when reopening documents".
So now when you reopen a pdf file whose bookmarks bar you have closed earlier after checking this option, you will see that the bookmark bar will be closed.

Photoshop crashes when using liquify & other tools, problems saving as well

Hello
I know others have posted re problems with Photoshop & liquify crashing but answers seem to be specific to computer spec etc. I use Photoshop CS6 and Windows 7.
I have tried changing the 'performance' preferences and on one occasion I got the liquify to actually work but when I tried to save it, it crashed. I need to use liquify for a certain project and I don't know what to do now!!
Any advice would really be appreciated.

Step 1. Hold down the Alt + Ctrl + Shift keys as you click on the icon to open ps. When asked if you want to delete the settings file, say yes.
Step 2. Reset the preferences as above.
Step 3. Close ps and let the file regenerate.

PSE6 crashes when using Clone Stamp tool

Hi! I'm new to PSE and have a standard install of 6.0 - no addons. I've been using the editor for just a couple of days now, but I have experience with other graphic editors.
I've just started using the Clone Stamp tool. I've cut out a background from a photo, put it into a new file using New>From Clipboard, and am using the Clone Stamp tool to paint background over the edges of the cut.
So, start Photoshop in edit mode, open picture (.psd created above), select clone stamp tool, right-click and select 100 pixel brush from default palette, place brush some way away from the edge and Alt-click to set "From" point, then move the brush next to edge, click, and start painting over the edge. All OK. Now, move the brush to the right-edge of the picture and start painting so the edge of the brush goes outside the picture a little. This is where it crashes for me. It may be that it's actually the from area that is outside the picture that causes the problem.
Does anyone else get this problem?
Now I'm going back to try again taking great care along the right-hand edge to try and stop it crashing!

FW CS4 crashes when using the pen tool for many points

Good morning,
Every time I try to create a mask with the pen tool that
requires a good
amount of points, FW crashes. I've had this happen with CS3
as well, but
with CS4 , it crashes with many less points than CS3 - has
any one
experienced this, and more to the point, any solutions?

I'm optimistic too. I think it will start to sort itself out
when Intel's
new 24-Core 128-bit processors hit the market in conjunction
with Windows 8
and OS X Cervelat.
