Reader and printed forms

I have used printed forms on reader before on my blog [spammy link removed] before and typed in info to be printed, worked fine. However once saved all the data is lost, any advice?

I have no idea what you mean by "printed forms".  I have also removed your link, as there are no PDFs on that page.

  • How do I edit a "fill and print form" using Acrobat XI?

    We recently upgraded to Adobe Acrobat Pro, version 11. We have some staff who previously created "fill and print" forms with Adobe Acrobat 10. However, now when they try to use version 11 to edit the form, they receive the following message: This form cannot be edited in Acrobat. Please use Adobe LiveCycle Designer to edit this form.
    If I remember correctly, version 10 (or some package suite) use to install LiveCycle along with version 10. This doesn't seem to be the case with version 11. So... How do we obtain LiveCycle Designer? Is it still available to install on a desktop or is it only available in the cloud?  Or, preferably, is there a way to edit the form using Acrobat Pro version 11?
    I don't work with Adobe forms myself, so any information you can provide will be extremely helpful. Thanks.

    LCD forms can only be edited in LCD. However, Adobe stopped distributing LCD together with Acrobat. You need to purchase it separately now, but if you had a previous license you can get it at a large discount, I think. Try the LCD forums for more info about that.

    We are trying to implement a process so that any document that needs to be printed through our Java application will be printed as PDF using Adobe Reader. Current Situation: The above command line parameter when executed is working as expected in a User's Workspace. When executed in a command line on the Application Server is working as expected. But, the same is not working while executing it from Deployed environment.Software being used: 1. Adobe 11.0 enterprise version. 2. Webshpere Application Server 8.5.5.2. Please let us know if there is a way to enable trace logs in Adobe Reader to further diagnose this issue.

  • HT1391 How can I read and print digital booklets that are downloaded togheter with the recordings I purchased

    How can I read and print digital booklets that are downloaded togheter with the albuns I bought?

    cu is right.
    classloader returns the URL of your resource. You can the jar using something like the following...
    ClassLoader classloader = this.getClassLoader();
    url = classloader.getResource("your_resouces...");
    if(url == null)
    System.out.println("cannot find resource ");
    return null;
    String jar = url.getFile();
    jar = jar.substring(jar.indexOf("/")+1, jar.lastIndexOf("!")).replace('/', '\\');
    obviously, this code snippet works on windows only. Now you have the jar file path. I use Jar file classes to access the jar file. (e.g. you can search for each class files)

  • Any limitation on number of fill and print forms I can post on my website and have external users with Reader fill in, print and mail to me? (I don't need/want them to be able to fill and save data.)

    I would like to post fillable only forms to the public but not give them the option to save or email the filled in form. If they want a copy of what they've filled in, they must print it.
    I believe I can do this by just creating a fillable PDF and posting it without adding any reader extension capabilities. I also believe there is no limitation, as there is for fill and save forms as per this other post I read: Adobe Acrobat X Pro * Enable Reader users to save form data.
    My IT department is telling me they will not allow me to post fillable PDFs online due to a "license limitation" so I started researching this myself, and the above link is the only thing I've found. While that post specifically outlines the limitations on saving filled in forms, I'm really looking for something that specifically tells me that there is no limitation on fillable, non-saveable (yes, I know that's not a word...) forms.
    If anyone can provide additional information for me, I'd appreciate it. Or, if I'm completely wrong in my belief and there's a limitation either way, feel free to set me straight. I'd rather know the correct answer than be right!
    Thanks!!

    If you don't Reader-enable a document, then there are no licensing restrictions involved. Note that Reader 11 and all versions of Acrobat are able to save non-enabled forms, unlike previous versions.
    The question should not be whether a form is savable, but rather whether you used Acrobat to add usage rights to the form AND you (the licensee) plan on receiving filled-in instances (including hardcopies) of it. The simplest way is to not Reader-enable the form and convince your users to use Reader 11 (or Acrobat) if they want to save.

  • Preview and Print Form before submitting

    I have created a form. The client would like the person who
    just filled it out to be able to preview and print it prior to
    submitting or even after submitting. Would this be part of the form
    mail script? Does anyone know the PHP scripting code?
    Thanks!

    Form page submits to a preview page that parses the form
    variables from the
    POST array, places them on the page, AND loads hidden form
    fields with the
    corresponding data. The client may print this page using FILE
    | Print. To
    accept the data shown there, the client would click on an OK
    button that
    submits the form's hidden fields to the PHP processing
    script.
    To make this happen you would have to know how to a) parse
    the data from the
    $_POST array on the confirmation page and display it on the
    page, and b)
    load the hidden fields for ultimate submit to the PHP
    processing script.

I think that purePDF can help me but i really don't know how to load the stream and put it on display.. Can anyone help me or give me some advices?

    The simplest way that I know of would be to use 'navigateToURL()' and let the user to print the pdf from the browser.
    Does anyone have the advice on doing this within the Flex app; i.e. without opening a new browser window?

  • Reading and printing from a file

    I have a method that reads temperatures from a data file and prints them to the monitor. I use a while loop to read each line of the file, but for some reason it doesnt skip the loop when readLine returns null. My question is how do i get the method to stop reading before it returns null...
       public static void printFile(String textFile) throws IOException
            String inputString="";
            BufferedReader inputDataFile=
            new BufferedReader(new FileReader(CENTIGRADE_DATA_FILE));
            while(inputString!=null)
                inputString= inputDataFile.readLine();
                System.out.println(inputString);
            inputDataFile.close();

    ok cool thanks for pointing that out guys i appreciate it...now i need to take those temps and convert them from Strings to doubles so they can be converted i tried this but im getting a NumberFormatException error...
    public static void buildReport() throws IOException
            double centigradeTemp=0.00;
            String inputTemp="";
            //Open centigrade temps to be read and converted
            BufferedReader inputDataFile=
            new BufferedReader(new FileReader(CENTIGRADE_DATA_FILE));
            //Open file writer to write report
            PrintWriter outFile=new PrintWriter(new FileWriter("TempReport.txt"));
            //While loop to read a temp, convert it, and write it in the report
            while((inputTemp= inputDataFile.readLine())!=null)
                centigradeTemp=Integer.parseInt(inputTemp);
                outFile.println(fahrenheit(centigradeTemp));
            outFile.close();
        public static double fahrenheit(double centigrade)

  • Chinese characters reading and printing from

    I have an xml file with one element
    < item name="Notification" value="some chinese characters like & # \u5927 ;" />
    Now I want to read that from the xml file and print that
    so what I do is
    String value = config.getProperty(Config.PREFACE);
        String value1 = new String(value.getBytes("Big5"), "Big5");
        System.out.println("testing 26 " + value1);But at the end of the day I am still getting question marks.
    meaning that the out put still being
    some chinese characters like ?
    Any ideas? This thing is driving me nuts..............

    Hi,
    I was working on it Chineese and arabic but abandoned it due to time constraints.
    I think u need to install chineese fonts on u'r system if u dont have one.
    I dont think it comes default with java. Also u may require to edit the font.properties file and specify which font to use for displaying the range of unicode characters.

  • Viewing and printing form

    Is there a way to view (and print) my form in the same format that they are submitted? I only seem to be able to view all responses in a table format.

    You can save a response as a PDF (with the original form layout).

    Hello everyone!
    I've been trying to find a simple tutorial of creating a database, reading and writing to it... Can't seem to find anything in my interest.
    Does anyone know a good tutorial about this?
    Or could anyone just explain this? :)
    I want to do simple stuffs, such as reading ints and Strings.
    Do you recommend using MySQL or should I use a 2D string array instread?
    Best regards,

    Learn SQL to create/read/update the data. There's a SQL tutorial at w3schools.com. Decent RDMBS also come along with SQL documentation, have a look at their own homepage.
    JDBC is in fact nothing else than an API to execute SQL using Java code. There's a JDBC tutorial here at Sun.com. Decent RDMBS ships with a JDBC driver and JDBC documentation, have a look at their own homepage.
