Reader appears inline in browser although preferred otherwise

Since I have upgrade to Reader 10, PDF files open inside my Firefox and Chrome browsers.
This is in spite of the fact that in Preferences/Interenet I unchecked "display PDF in browser.
In IE8 it is OK, i.e. opens in the application.
OS is Vista.
How can I get it to open in the application?

goto Tools -> Add-ons
under "Plugins" tab, select "adobe acrobat"
click "DISABLE" (will change from "disable" to "enable")
it is probably a similar process for Chrome and other browsers.
i expect that this would work for all versions of adobe & FF

You may have a problem with the permissions on your external volume. Probably you are not the owner of your library on the second mac.
If you have not already done so, set the "Ignore Ownership on this Volume" flag on your external volume. To do this, select the volume in the Finder and use the Finder command "File > Get Info" (or ⌘I).
In the "Get Info" panel disclose the "Sharing & Permissions" brick, open the padlock, and enable the "Ignore Ownership on this Volume" flag. You will have to authentificate as administrator to do this.
Then run the "Aperture Library First Aid Tools" on this library and repair the permissions. To launch the "First Aid Tools" hold down the ⌥⌘-key combination while you double click your Aperture Library. Select "Repair Permissions" and run the repair; then repeat with "Repair Database". Do this on the omputer where you created the library and where you can see the thumbnails.
Then check, if you now are able to read the library properly on your iMac.

Extremely long "reading" times in media browser

We are running CC2014 on 3 edit systems with a shared 10Gbit 36TB Synology NAS. Each workstation has approximately 12TB of local raid storage as well. We shoot P2 primarily and I have a little over 17TB archived on the Synology. Lately, we have had extremely long "reading" times in Media Browser on all the machines. I don't quite understand how Premiere is indexing and displaying as sometimes the "reading" time is relatively quick, ie. under 10 seconds and then other times it can take 3-5 minutes to display clips within a directory.
My Directory Structure is:
Media
     P2 footage
          (P2 folders/ie. cards are all saved with their shoot dates here)
          Our total archive of P2 footage is around 70 cards.
It appears that when Media Browser is pointed to a P2 Card folder it is indexing the entire "P2 footage directory, ie. all 70 cards", rather than just the individual folder containing 1 P2 card's footage. Ist this the case?
Would I get better read speeds in Media Browser if I organized my P2 footage into more directories, ie. by year and quarter or by year and month?
Really need to know how the indexing works. Does premiere cache preview files for each clip and if so, how long are these previews valid. It seems that when I media browse a new P2 Card/Folder, it has forgotten any previous preview files that have been made and cached.
Any explanation or help would be appreciated.
We have copied large numbers of cards/folders from the Synology to our local raids to see if the latency was due to the network but the results are the same when we media browse on the local raid copies.

The title of a music won't appear in the browser window.

The song appears in iTunes, but it does not appear on the browser window in Aperture. The song title is a mixture of Japanese and English text and it was sampled from an original CD. The browser does list other songs that have only Japanese, only English, or a mixture of the two. Also, it's not other listing songs too. Any thoughts? Thanks.

aftershock but dont think that this is still the proceedure?? i was
told if i inseft the swf through dreamweaver it should work but

Downloaded photos appear incorrectly in browser.

When I download my photos they appear in the browser incorrectly. For example most of my photos are portrait style but the result after the download is that they appear as landscape and are all squashed to fit into the space available.When I click on a photo in the browser it eventually appears correctly in the viewer.When I have 200 + photos to look at it is most frustrating.
Does anyone have an answer to help please?

I think that I have discovered the answer.
I deleted all of the photos and redownloaded them.
I used a card reader and when the download finished I received a message with 3 options one of which was to eject the card which I did. This time I realised that the wheel was still spinning so I waited until it stopped and then it all seemed OK.
So it appears that you still have to wait for some sort of processing after ejecting the card.

Only a check mark in the Read-only box means that a folder or file is Read-only. 
Windows doesn't check all the files in a folder so instead displays a greenish block to indicate that it is not sure. 
You need to look at the files individually to see if any are read-only. 
Easiest to do that is to make the Attributes visible in "View > Details" mode: Choose Details in Windows Explorer.

I don't know if your on a Mac or a PC.
So you need to locate the Font cache file for Acrobat (make sure Acrobat is quit) and remove to Trash/Wastebasket.
and empty. The open Acrobat back up and the font cache file should rebuild. If your on a Mac the simpliest way is use a Utility called fontnuke and have it remove all Font caches.
Font cahces frequently corrupt as they are in constant use. Mayb Windows machines have something similar as Font Nuke.
