Reader DC AVDocOpenFromFile - RdrCEF.exe

Why does AVDocOpenFromFile or  AVDocOpenFromPDDoc open the program RdrCEF.exe and doesn't close the program when AVDocClose is called ??  Batch print getting impossible because you end up with lots of RdrCEF.exe programs in the task manager, as well as RdrCEF.exe  crashes on Windows Server 2012 after you openend and closed about 10 documents.

Yes AmbooS, it is consistenly reproducible. Reader DC and PlugIn working even on, after the Windows RdrCEF crash message is acknowledged. But will crash after a short while again. When Reader DC is closed, all RdrCEF instances disappear in the task manager.  On relaunch of Reader, same behaviour. On my Windows 7 / 8GB machine it takes a little longer for the crash, but it will come.

Why does AVDocOpenFromFile or  AVDocOpenFromPDDoc open the program RdrCEF.exe and doesn't close the program when AVDocClose or AVWindowUserClose is called ??  Batch print getting impossible because you end up with lots of RdrCEF.exe programs in the task manager, as well as RdrCEF.exe  crashes on Windows Server 2012 after you openend and closed about 10 documents.

As i said before, RdrCEF will crash on a Windows Server 2012 after about 10 times opening a document. Apparently the program thinks the doc is open still ! The AVDoc is needed since I use AVDocPrintPagesWithParams ( normal, tiled, booklet print etc ) without UI and for the  PDDoc a print command doesn't exist, just notifications.

  • Win7-64 Adobe Reader caught by werfault.exe on startup

I have a new Dell i7 system with Win 7-64 and I'm seeing odd behavior with Adobe reader.  It successfully installs but at startup it appears in the process list for a second when werfault.exe shows up and shuts it down without registering an error.  I've have tried multiple times to uninstall, reboot and reinstall Adobe Reader v9.3 with out any difference in behavior.   The event log registers the following application error...
Faulting application name: AcroRd32.exe, version: 9.3.0.148, time stamp: 0x4b309800

Anyone know the issue and how to fix it?
    Thanks.
    Solved!

    Hi battler,
I have found the file the executable is looking for here:
I would expect this VI to be included automatically when you add your source files containing 3d graphs.  You may want to check your development computer and verify that the Fast Draw Read.vi was not removed.  Hope this helps!

  • OS Deployment - Unable to read task sequence, WpeInit.exe does not start automatically

Ok so this is a very very weird one.
this is my first time actually coming to the community for help. I need assistance asap.
I have 4517 systems in SCCM 2007, we have a mixture of PXE enabled offices and offices with just DPs that use boot media for OSD. I use the SAME boot image for our PXE enabled task sequence as I do for our boot media. I create an ISO file for our remote
staff and they in turn use it to OSD in those offices.
We have three offices where no matter what I do WPEInit doesn't seem to run and it either instantly reboots (no network) or prompts with the error message in the title. Interestingly enough if you PXE boot that SAME machine it works fine using the identical
    boot image.
    We have tired:
    - New USB keys
    - Different machines
    -  BIOS defaults
    -  Legacy settings for UFEI / Defaults
    - PXE boot (works fine...)
    - Another SCCM Boot image from an earlier Task Sequence (still doesn't work)
    - MDT Boot image, works fine...
any clues? What makes these three offices so special that they refuse to work with a boot image that works everywhere else in our Canadian offices?!

I believe this issue has to do with how the USB drive reports its "type." In my testing, a USB drive that reports itself as a "fixed" disk will not work as an SCCM boot disk.  They have to be "removable." USB drives that
are certified for Windows To Go for example have NOT worked in my experience, because they report as a "fixed" disk. This is usually a problem with high capacity USB drives.
We found some 16GB USB drives that work great, and they report to the OS as being "removable." DISKPART can tell you whether a driver is fixed or removable. In the screenshot below, the second drive will not boot SCCM. The first drive will.

  • Reader X - Crashing Font32.exe when opening PDF

    1. Removed plugins folder
    2. Repaired Install

    Still no luck. Any suggestions?

Please let me know the following details:
    1. Which version of Adobe Reader are you using. Is it 10.1.0 or 10.1.1 or 10.1.2?
    2. What is the exact error message received. Could you post a screenshot of the same.
    3. Have you tried removing any external Reader font packs (such as Japanese/Chinese etc) installed on your system separately. You can try and remove the same using the Add/Remove Programs from witin the Control Panel.

Download your Flash installer files from http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html
Concerning Adobe AIR, you have to ask in that forum.
P.S. don't publish your email address in a public forum - spammers will be happy to pick them up!

  • AcroRd32.exe Goes to High CPU After Reader is Closed

When I close Acrobat reader, the process AcroRd32.exe jumps up to high CPU usage, about 25% and stays there.  If there are several adobe reader windows open, this occurs upon closing the last reader window.  If I open reader again, then close, I get another stale AcroRd32.exe process and another +25% CPU usage, etc.  I have to kill the processes in Win7 task manager.
I've tried downgrading from version 11 to version 10, with no success.  I've tried suggestions from this forum and other sites, such as
edit->preferences->general, uncheck "show me messages...", check "don't show me messages..."
edit->preferences->internet, uncheck "allow fast web viewing", uncheck "allow speculative downloading..."
    But no luck.  Still happening.
It hasn't always been this way.  I suspect some interaction with a windows or browser update within the past month or so.
This is really broken and really annoying.  Thank you!

I have a customer with the same issue.  I've done all the standard fixes, like disable protected mode, stop messages, etc.  This is on a Citrix XenApp 6.5 server and the particular workstation is shared by many people using a common log on.  The users are all using Reader XI to view AutoCAD 2004 and SolidWorks 2014 drawings that have been printed to PDF.
Anybody have any ideas because I'm out.

  • Problems with downloading Reader 10 X (Windows OS) - is there an uninstaller .exe for Reader 9?

Having problems downloading Reader 10 X.  Is there a "uninstaller" .exe file available to remove all previous versions, references, and language fonts for Reader 9 ?  There is an "uninstaller"  .exe for FlashPlayer.  Please advise.  Thank you.

    Ankit
Based on my Add/Remove/Programs, I had Adobe Reader 9.4.5 installed (no other versions were listed).  Using the "remove" option in the Add/Remove/Program listing, I uninstalled Adobe Reader 9.4.5.  When I tried to download Reader 10.1.1 from Adobe, there was an error stating the download could not complete because there were earlier versions installed. Looking through "my deskstop" and "C" drive, I found there was Adobe Reader 9.2.0 .exe. file.  Also, another issue is the Language fonts listed in Add/Remove/Programs are not easily detected because the name doesn't begin with Adobe.  When you sort by name, you will find Chinese Language Reader Font, Korean Language Reader Font, etc.  This requires people to searah for all references to Adobe Reader.   Having an "uninstaller" for Reader would make it much easier for people to ensure the uninstall of Reader is complete - removing all previous versions, references and language fonts, before they attempt to install the latest version for Adobe Reader.  Thanks again for your attention.

  • Adobe Reader Installation problem

Originally I got this error message:
"Error 1321. The installer has insufficient privileges to modify the file C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader\Browser\nppdf32.dll"
A user give me this response:
hi jhohn1190, this problem won't be related to javascript which is enabled in firefox by default - this would only apply if you're not able to download the setup file at all. since the error message is referencing missing privileges, please try right-clicking and running the setup as administrator. in case this doesn't help, please contact adobe's support in order to get their product working.
I did what he said and now I get this error message:
"Error 1310. Error writing to file:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\AcroTextExtractor.exe. Verify that you have access to that directory.” Note that
At least this time the sub directories "Adobe\Reader 11.0" exist, but below them is another - empty - directory "Reader", and nothing else. I'd appreciate more help,

  • Windows Vista boot-time reads of iTunes media

I sure hope someone here know SOMETHING about why this happening. I have a few movies in my iTunes library. I never watch them within iTunes, instead I always sync them to my iPod touch to watch them. However, a short time ago, I accidentally double-clicked on my download/purchase of Poltergeist, and the movie played for a few seconds in iTunes. I stopped it. I didn't intend to play it. Now, when I boot up my laptop, and open up the Resource Monitor to watch what happens during start-up, I see the svchost.exe process reading up to half of the Poltergeist.m4v movie file...about 550MB of it. It's a 1.2GB file, but it consistently sits there and reads up half of it at every boot. Why the heck is svchost.exe doing that? Why does this process need to read all that data at start-up? I don't have iTunes open, and I don't have my iPod hooked up. I don't like it. It contributes to a slow start-up. Maybe there's some sort of action I can do on the movie within iTunes to tell this process, "Hey, you don't need to bother reading this file!" ???

Nope, that didn't do it, Katrina. And that sounded like a really good suggestion, too. The movie is still being read up by svchost.exe (over 500MB of it) with every boot. Obviously, I don't want to delete the movie. It was a purchase. But I just don't see any other way to make it stop doing that.

  • How to read the contents of a file from batch file

    Hi
I have a text file which contains exe files.  I need to read those exe file names and then execute the same in order they occur. Sample content of the text file a.txt is as below.
"If you are looking at previous version then use 8792xINT.EXE if you are looking for the current version then check 8793xINT.exe
please use README.TXT file before you use any above files"
I need to read and execute 8793xINT.exe from above text in batch file.  Here number 8793 is variable changes as version changes but xINT.exe is constant.

  • Problem in installing Adobe Reader X

I wanted to install Adobe Reader X on my notebook(with no internet connection).I copied the Adobe folder from my PC to the notebook and tried to install Adobe Reader X by clicking the related exe file, but it didnt help.
The exe file, which was AcroRd32.exe,when clicked says that "Adobe Reader cannot open in Protected Mode due to a problem with your system configuration.Would you like to open Adobe Reader with Protected Mode disabled?".
When I tried to open it with Protected Mode disabled,it gave a fatal error saying that "Acrobat failed to load its Core DLL".
No such error occured with earlier versions of Adobe Reader. There, the exe file automatically started the installation process.
Is it not possible to upgrade my Reader to X from 9.1?
(I saw a similr thread elsewhere but there the error was different and the solution talked of some whitelisting, which I am not aware of)

You cannot use Reader X until it has been installed. Installing means that the appropriate configuration has been entered into the Windows Registry. Copying a folder from another computer doesn't achieve that goal.
Here's what I suggest you do now.
Run this Microsoft fix first of all: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Uninstall via Reader via Add/Remove Programs
Download and install Reader X from here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/direct/
P.S. There are some programs which are so called 'Standalone' apps. That means that the executable will run without using a system's processes. But Adobe Reader isn't one of them.
