Reader does not play PDF from Captivate

Adobe Captivate provides a great feature where you can publish an online course to a PDF with the embedded SWF. When you open the PDF, it plays just like the online course, with rollovers, table of contents, bookmark widget, etc.
Today we discovered that if someone has Reader 10.1.5, the PDF does not open. Refer to image:
We researched the Captivate users forum and that seems to indicate that more recent versions of Adobe Acrobat Reader do not correctly open these Captivate-generated interactive PDFs.
I am still at Reader 10.1.4, and the PDF opens and plays just fine.
Is there a fix for allowing users with the more recent versions of Reader to be able to open these PDFs, or will there be a fix soon?

As the last post suggests, call Apple and order a replacement original disc for about $17. They will ask you the model and serial numbers.
Your retail version of Snow Leopard OS 10.6.3 will not work on that Mac as it requires a minimum of OS X 10.6.7 to boot and operate.
Another alternative is to again borrow another Mac to install your retail Snow Leopard into an external HD or partition, upgrade it to 10.6.8 and then clone it back to a partition on your MBP.

On the left side of the Now Playing screen right below the scrubber bar is the repeat control. It is the arrowed racetrack icon. Tap the icon until it is white for no repeat.

Your iPad has built-in WiFi. You cannot and don't need to use the USB dongle.
Look in Settings > WiFi. Find the SSID of your wireless router, tap it's name and enter the WiFi password.

New reader does not download forms from Canadian immigration website

You don't need Adobe Reader to download a PDF; you just need it if you want to open it directly. I had no problems downloading several PDFs from http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/visa.asp
In order to determine what your problem is, please provide all relevant system information.

Iphoto '11 slideshow does not play music from iTunes

I cannot get iPhoto Slideshow to play music from iTunes. I read one suggestion to go to iTunes > File > Library > Organize Library > and select REORGANIZE library. When I do this it does not allow me to REORGANIZE, I can only CONSOLIDATE.
Any suggestions on what I can do?

Sometimes the database files inside your iTunes Library can get corrupted.
Try to rebuild the file "iTunes Music Library.xml" as described here:

I'm not sure if "Consolidate" can help in this situation - it will move all songs into your iTunes Library, so that they can be easier found, but not recreate the datbase files.

ITunes 7.6 Bug: Does not play music from Intelligent Playlists

Since I upgraded to iTunes 7.6 I can no longer play music from my intelligent playlists. Whenever I try it will remove the song from the playlist instead of playing it.
Has anybody else experienced this and maybe found a solution?
And if not, how can I downgrade to iTunes 7.5?

... and one other thing: I had to re-activate my computer repeatedly to be able to listen to the music bought in the iTunes store. After several vain attempts it finally worked when I accessed the piece directly in my music library instead of from a playlist. However, my computer was re-activated as a new pc although it had been activiated already before the upgrade.
And as to changing the infos - in my case to Soundtrack - this works only as long as the intelligent playlist tries to actually play he song. Then the info changes back automatically to the former status - in my case the German "Filmmusik" (meaning soundtrack in German).
So it seems that this is simply a localisation (or purely German?) problem with iTunes getting mixed-up with the non-English and English definitions. I now have changed all genre infos to "Filmmusik" instead of Soundtrack, and voila, it is working. - Very strange, indeed.
Anyway, for the time being I will not mark this thread as solved as I am not sure that this is the permanent solution.

IPod does not play music from the beginning

The music is properly good on the hard disk of the PC.
The music is imported into iTunes, where it played well from the beginning.
On the iPod, the music is also available.
When playing the music now as follows:
The title starts 6-10 seconds from the start, just after this time the song is played from the beginning, for about 6-10 seconds, then the title is a play on. Then from 12-20 sec from the beginning.
I hope the wording is somewhat understandable.

It was because of the ZoneAlarm firewall software!
Somehow, the music is cut up by plan no why ...
Firewall uninstalled, delete music from iTunes and the iPod, newly imported gesyncht = works

AppleTV 3 - does not play video from YouTube

I have an Apple TV3. I tried to play some YouTube video on it, but it does not work. I looked up the video, opened it, but it can not be played - all the time there is only turing arround symbol.

I deleted QuickTime 7 Pro after upgrading to Snow Leopard.
My digital camera is a Pentax Optio S6 that creates movies in the MPEG-4 format. The ending of the movie file after transfer to the Mac is .avi
What Codec do I need? Or should I reinstall QuickTime 7 Pro?

Urgent: Adobe Reader does not attach pdf-files to standard e-mail software any more!

Thunderbird
Adobe Acrobat Reader
When I want to attach a pdf-file directly from Adobe Reader to a new Thunderbird e-mail it starts ALL OF A SUDDEN the setup-assistant for Microsoft Exchange / Outlook! Why? I have no clue (:
It worked fine until 3 days ago.
Thunderbird is the standard e-mail software and it works for example fine if I click on an address in the internet. Thunderbird opens a new mail.
I tried to uninstall Adobe Reader and installed it again (restart computer / ccleaner) but this failure still occurs!
Does anybody know what to do please? It is really urgent because I need that function all the time... (:
By the way: I do not work with Outlook; it is not configured.

What happened between when it worked correctly 3 days ago, and the time it stopped working as expected?
Check Control Panel | Internet Options | tab Programs; to what is the E-mail option set?
If it is already correctly showing Thunderbird, then try a System Restore to a date when it still worked correctly.

Spotify does not play audio from my desktop

DescriptionBefore today, Spotify worked fine on my laptop but now whenever I go to play a song the time will start but no audio will come out or the song won't start playing at all. So I just took this from user JayLB and it solved my problem, it should help you out too. If this is the case then users are running into a corrupt cache issue of the spotity desktop app. Because when you change cache folders it writes new clean cache files and everything that was once Stored under C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Spotify again, when you instructed the app to write a new one into the folder selected by the settings changed. To fix these corrupted cache folder do this first. 1. Log out of the spotify desktop app and exit the app as well.2. Go to Task Manager, look for any processes that says SpotifyHelper.exe, select any and all of them and chose end task.3. Go to this file location C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Spotify, delete everything inside the folder. Do Not Worry the Spotify App will rewrite everything back when you load and log back into the app.4. Make sure to clean out your Recycle Bin as well.5. Log back in and see if the same problem persists. If it has stopped doing this, you removed the cache files that were corrupted successfully.6. You will need to reoffline any music you had again for offline playback. You might have to toggle playlists that where set for offline playback to online mode first, and then select them for offline mode again. If this did not work, then you need to double check if you where once a premium subscriber, double check in the Spotify desktop app settings that the High Quality Streaming option is not turned on. This playing tracks for a few seconds is a sign you might have let your premium expire on you, and you are still trying to stream in High Quality Option, the app won't play music correctly if this is set and premium has expired on your account.

Hello, so basically the systems seem to reconize each other. The phone charges and the music bar disapperes indicating a connection. But no sound will happen. The speakers work fine with an iPod Nano and a 4s but fail on mine. I checked my iPhone 4 on a different dock and it worked fine. Any suggestions? Cheers.

Hi Adam,
Try the steps mentioned below to resolve the issue:
1. Disconnect iPhone from Docking System, restart both the System and the iPhone and then reconnect iPhone to the System.
2. If this didn't helps, try resetting both the units. You can reset the Docking System by pressing RESET at base using pin pointed object like paper clip.
3. Also, try updating iPhone and to latest version and check if that helps.
NOTE: If iPhone has the case or cover, the device may not be set correctly. Remove the case or cover from the iPhone and set the device again.

1) Try a Hard Reset as follows.
Remove any devices connected to the notebook. Shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery. Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds. Re-insert the battery, plug in the AC Adapter and start the notebook - check if the speakers are now working.
2) Please First check if the speaker icon on the unit is not muted.
3) Go to device manager and uninstall the Sound driver and restart and unit will install the driver automatically.
4) Try doing System restore to the date when the unit was working fine.
5) Try to update the driver from hp.com website for Audio & Bios.
