Reader does only see my default printer (Vista)

Hi there
product version : 10.1.7
For now few days, I've ran into a weird issue. In my 80 users, only 1 got this issue, instead he have the same Adobe Reader version. He got a Vista on a Dell desktop computer.
As I changed his default printer, Adobe Reader will always shows up only the default printer in his printer list, but not the other ones, despite the fact that's every other softs' (Word, Excel, Autocad, etc ..) recognize every printers added in the Vista printer manager and can print properly.
All these printers are deployed through a server, and are not shared on his computer.
I tryed to uninstall/reinstall Reader, to downgrade it
to check the registry keys bounded to the ports, drivers and printer infos.
disable the enhanced security mode on Reader
reboot, redeploy printers on Vista
If someone got an idea or a hint, I would be grateful. Thanks for your help, I'm stuck around .

    Hi Crushed,
Numbers doesn't have pages. It has a canvas that holds objects such as tables and charts.
Drag the objects from the bottom of the canvas onto the white space above. That will reduce the number of "pages" (sheets of paper) that will print.

  • Reader 9.3.3 Removing default printer - says no printer installed

I have over 50 users with Adobe Reader 9.3.3 installed.  Every morning someone calls and says Adobe Reader reported that there are no printers installed on their system.  When I check their PC I find that the default printer setting has been removed and there is no default printer set.  Once reset they have no problems with the printers or their other applications.  This only happens when trying to print a PDF.
Why is Adobe Reader removing the default printer setting?

The driver has NOT been removed.  Just the default setting.
In very PLAIN English the default printer check mark is GONE.

  • How to have "black and white only" be the default print option

Just installed a new printer and would like to set it up so that the default print option is black and white only. How do I do this?

Can't find this anywhere. I'm brand new to Macs so I
    might need more detailed instructions.
I have an HP Photosmart C6100 by the way.
Not sure which post you are responding to since you replied to yourself
Every printer is a little different so you may have to do some searching through the settings. I don't have an HP Photosmart C6100 here so I can't say for sure where the setting is for that printer.
The closest thing I have to that model printer here is an HP OfficeJet 6310
In that model you choose Paper Type/Quality
In drop down menu under Color you select Gray Scale
Then you can still save the preset as I described in my previous post.
If the C6100 is different than that you may just have to search through option pages and explore the drop down selections.
Which I could be more specific, but they are all a little different.

  • Read does not see last update

I've got multiple thread reading and modifying the same objects. Sometimes a read by one thread does not see a change made and committed by another thread. Looking at the log shows the update was done and it set the field properly. But the next read query returns the object with the old field value. Out of 100 executions this only occurrs 1-3 times. Is this a case of reading the old value from the read cache? If so, what is the best way to insure the read gets the latest version? I've tried setting the existence checking to database first and it didn't make any difference.

    Rick,
I am going to assume this is all being done in a single JVM with a single ServerSession and thus one shared cache. If this is incorrect please correct me.
When the scheduler commits the changes made are written first to the database and then following the commit they are made to the cache. You said the JMS messages are committed in the same JTS TX. I would verify that the JMS messages and UnitOfWork are actually being committed together.
If all of the JTS TX stuff is right then what you are saying is that in a small percentage of cases the runner task is receiving the JMS message and reading the cached version of the objects prior to the scheduler's UnitOfWork completing its merge. This seems very unlikely given the simplicity of the changes described (but weirder things have happened, and its halloween).
What I would check next is to make sure the runner task is forcing a refresh of the (query.refreshIdentityMapResults) and if you are using optimistic locking then configure the descriptor to onlyRefreshIfNewerVersion. Let us know if this eliminates the condition and if all of my assumptions are correct.

  • Laptop does not see wireless j4680 printer

I have an HP Officejet J4680 printer connected wirelessly to my HP desktop (Windows Vista os).  I am attempting to print from my lenovo t500 laptop (Windows XP os) which is using the same wireless network as the desktop.  I have set the printer as shared on the desktop and am trying to install the printer on the laptop but am not able to.  When I use the 'Ass a Printer' Wizard I have tried both the Network and the local printer options.  It does not see the printer at all.  Any suggestions?  The laptop is for work and I log on to business via VPN - do not know if thisis a factor.
Thanks in advance for any guidance
    Jane

I am confused.  You say that the printer is connected wirelessly to an HP desktop.  Is this through a router?  What kind?
While connected via VPN no other network devices can be accessed (like a networked printer) nor can any other device access the computer on a VPN.

  • Pages does not select the default printer.

I have an IMac, 2.8 GHz, running version 10.6.5 connected to a Canon MX860. Under Print & Fax preferences, I list two printers. The first is Canon MX860 USB and the second is Canon MX860 Wireless. The default is set for the wireless. On all applications except "Pages", the default printer is the one selected. But, PAGES always selects the USB one. Is this a bug in PAGES, or is there something I can do?

Yvan, not wishing to incur your ire... I have a similar problem and went through pages of discussions generated by the search function. I cannot find a thread matched with exactly with what I believe to be the issue here. My default print setting is wireless and all apps respect that including Pages (Version 09) generic templates. However, when I print from a Pages template that I created, it always defaults to the USB connection of my printer - and I do not leave the USB cable plugged in. I have tried to modify the template by opening it, File, Page Setup, Attributes, Format for wireless printer - save template.... Yet it still defaults to the unconnected USB version of my printer. Even doing page set up and then trying to print immediately, it defaults to the USB version. My printer is HP Photosmart C4585.
Yvan if you know of the right thread, apologies but could you point me to it please?
    Many thanks for your patience

  • I do not want FF to upgrade and require a reboot. The settings are correct. I only see a default profile at firefox -p. HELP!

I believe I have tried everything. I tried execution via CMD firefox.exe -p and I only see one profile. I have it set not to update at all. I don't mind updates, really, but when my PC needs a reboot to use FF that is an issue with me. Sometimes it is only when I try to execute a hyperlink from a program such as e-mail (Outlook 2010), but at times the entire FF application gets hosed and the cursor just blinks while in the FF environment.
Sometime I do video editing, am engaged in a MS practice exam, or corresponding via time sensitive e-mail. Rebooting when FF tells me too is often inconvenient, and yea I know I can switch back to IE on the fly, but its hard to keep bookmarks, and settings on two or more browsers simultaneously, and it is all about a positive user experience, is it not?
    Any help, answers, suggestions?
    Thanks, Tony

Firefox shouldn't need a Windows reboot to update.
If this is needed then it means that some file were in use by another applications (possibly security software) and Firefox wasn't able to replace/update all the files.
If you have such security software them you would have to contact them for support and ask how to disable this feature or switch to other security software that doesn't has this feature.
Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) to see if that has effect.

    4) Are you able to print from computer when you send an email to printer ID?
    5) Is the printer email ID added to your account in ePrint Center Website?

    Hi,
Any help on below would be greatly appreciated
    Thank you
    Issue:

I also have this problem that Adobe Reader will not print, but this only occurred for me after installation of MS Office 2010.
The proposed solution of changing default printers does not work for me!
Does anybody have a real explanation as to what causes this problem and a real solution for it?
I have already tried re-installing Adobe Reader 9.3.4 and this had no effect. I am using Windows XP with SP3.
    thanks for any help ....

  • Adobe Reader 10.1 is not Default Printer

Hi, after I open a FDF file, I would like to save it as a print file for future printing but Adobe is not listed as printer.
I have a Lenovo system with W7 32bit and a Canon MX300 All-In-One printer and my question is, how do I make Adobe a default (or at least) an available printer?
BTW, I have uninstalled and reinstalled adobe Reader and the Canon Printer driver several time without success.
    Thank you,
    Bob

... and my question is, how do I make Adobe a default (or at least) an available printer?
Install Adobe Acrobat. Adobe Reader can't create PDF files.

  • Set a default printer for Reader X (10.1.4)?

I'd like to set a default printer or have Adobe Reader X use my Windows default printer so that when I click the icon a printed copy if produced.  Currently I am prompted to select the printer but it would be perfect to just have a printed copy when I click the print icon.  Should I want to switch printers I could always use "File" "Print" and customize from there.
Please help me find what I am doing wrong.
    Thank you!

Thank you!  Windows version 7 and Reader X version 10.1.4.  No difference in browser (FF, IE, Chrome) - I can set the browser to open in browser window then open Reader or I can set the browser to always open Reader.  Either way I get prompted.  So I just opened reader and opened a pdf on the local box and still was prompted.  Any ideas?  It would be so nice to set a default and have it just work.

  • Macbook does not see wireless printer

My laserjet 1102w is connected to an airport extreme and I can print wirelessly from a windows 7 pc.
However, my Macbook Pro does not see the wireless printer. I can print though if I connect the printer directly via USB.
When trying to add a printer via the '+'button in Finder > Printer & Fax there is no response and nothing to connect to.
Anyone knows how to resolve this ?

    Hi,
Be sure to enable Wireless Direct as listed within Steps one below, as well locate the display name as listed:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03351623&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en &product=5169041&tmp_track_link=ot_search#N96
Once you are done click the WiFi icon on your Mac and select Join Other Network.
Click on Show Networks and the Wireless Direct network should be listed there.

  • Default printer setting

I have a Canon printer set up as the default printer on my Mac. I also have a Dymo label printer that I use occasionally.Althought the Canon printer is the default printer whenever I choose to print from the Dymo printer (using the printer dialogue box - not changing any default settings) the computer never defaults back to the Canon printer. The next time I print, I must remember to open the dialogue box and change it back to the Canon. I usually forget and end up running out a bunch of expensive labels as the computer trys to print a document to the label printer.
Is there another setting that actually makes the computer default back to the default printer after a certain period of time?
I am using Mac OS 10.7.4 and have the latest firmware and software updates for both printers.

Before I print anything I have a question. When
printing and selecting a printer does if no printer
is selected does it take the default printer from the
computer being used? Depends on the application.
Some desktop apps allow you to choose from among all the printers installed on the client machine.
This assumes that you have a printer installed on the computer in question. Do you? One is designated as the default. If the app doesn't prompt you, chances are good that it's using the default. (But it's not guaranteed.)
    Our office has over 200
printers and unfortunately this is the first time we
have had to print anything. Typically it is
    paperless. Thanks for the help
E.C.I'll assume these are networked printers and not attached locally to a particular machine. Did you add the printer you wanted by searching on the network for a shared server?
200 printers in a paperless office? That's a lot of equipment sitting around doing nothing.
What operating system are you talking about?
What does any of this have to do with Java?
